Ive eaten in the restaurant and I've had some takeaway. Both times I had very nice food and service. Good food but a little pricy.

Sadly, they did not but I understood the explanation. We ordered corn fritters, vegetable tempura, hand fried spring rolls, green curry with tofu, pad Thai, and a Tiger beer. It was good. I'm glad it was so good because it is not fast. Which means someone is actually cooking the food. Which we need to appreciate more. So go there when you're with someone whose company you enjoy and you aren't in a hurry. Sit. Have a beer or two and wait. It's coming and it'll be good. It's also good because it isn't TOO anything. My friend wanted more seasoning and asked if it would be rude to ask for salt or something. I decided that it would. This is a family spot. "You go tell him his wife's food isn't to your liking", I joked while savoring my dish. This man wanted to ask for salt or (gasp) soy sauce(!) and he had eaten the decorative vegetables on the plate. It was good solid Thai food. The server was kind and celebrated my sloppy attempts at speaking Thai. The spot is not what you'd expect, it's homey, the ceiling and walls covered in standard cultural decor but it gave speakeasy. Like a place the mob would frequent. Quiet, comfortable, private, and low traffic. This should he a neighborhood favorite.

This is honestly the BEST Thai restaurant we have EVER been to. You MUST try it. My favourite is…read morethe Green Thai curry and chicken satai. Service is a bit slow, but the food definitely worth the wait. Also, its a bit out of the way, but easy to drive and plenty of parking near by.

We spent £60 for two starters, two main course and noodles with four single spirit drinks. There is also 10% service charge on everything which is not explained clearly and can be a surprise once you receive your bill. If you come here with a group of people be prepared that everyone doesn't get their meal at the same time and different courses come out at different times as we first receive our rice and noodles to then wait a further 20 minutes to get the main dish. Larger groups of 10 tables would also be blocking part of the walkway due to the shape of the room. As purley is spoilt for choice of restaurants this would not be my first choice!

The food is pure bliss, catering for all pallets and ages. I have to say that my personal favourite on the menu is the Pad Grapraw Gai or jungle currey with tiger prawns - DELICIOUS! and no sparing on the prawns either. On a summer evening or lunch time, the back garden area is opened up and there is comfortable seating - a perfect little oasis in this busy part of Purley.

However, after eating many times at Regional Thai in Cheam which is by far the best Thai restaurant I've ever eaten in, outside of Thailand - we found out that Max's Thai Cooking is owned by the very same 2 ladies who founded and own Regional Thai in Cheam. So, we booked a table there for Valentine's Day and were blown away as soon as we walked through the door. It's a REAL hidden gem of a place. The interior is lovely, really well done and you totally forget that you're in Wallington whilst in there. The food is ridiculously good and really reasonably priced ... couldn't believe that a meal for 2 with a bottle of cava was so reasonable. For anyone looking for a good Thai restaurant in Croydon or Sutton ... you've jsut found your place ! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks, Andy P.

I've eaten in many a thai restaurant all over the world and never in a million years did I expect to find the best one out of the lot right on my doorstep in humble old Wallington! I've been 3 times since and can't wait to go back again. I highly recommend the "Honey Jumbo Prawns" dish, it literally melts in your mouth and the flavour is just sensational. So pleased to have found this.
