Parking was easy and the space is beautiful! However, management was not so friendly. I went here for the first time with co-workers for lunch on a 75' day in February. We asked if we could move one of the picnic tables out of the shade and into the sun, as there are NO seats in the sun at all. You know, to enjoy the weather in their massive outdoor space. You would have thought we asked him to build us a picnic table. He was very frustrated and annoyed and told us we could only do that if we moved it and then moved it back. Ok then. When we were sitting out in the sun at the picnic table we moved, the same guy came outside, pointed over to us, threw his hands up in frustration and pointed us out to other Mad Tree workers sitting outside. Are we not supposed to use the massive outside area on a beautiful day? We saw another group of women while we were there moving tables and benches, trying to do the same thing. Before we even left, another group wanted our table. So management, you've only been open a few weeks. Before you are visibly rude and frustrated toward your customers, why not watch your customers behavior and see where improvements can be made? Might help to build a better atmosphere than the on you're building now. read more

Madtree is doing EVERYTHING right! Temp checks for all patrons, very obvious sanitizing measures, masks required. The outside beer garden is super clean and well spaced out. Arrows and cordoned off areas keep people moving in the correct direction. Staff is gloved, masked and very helpful. Great beer selection and catch-a-fire pizza is outstanding! Fire Bites starter was so good - peppadew peppers stuffed with goat cheese and basil. Wood fired pizzas were delicious. Definitely check this place out! read more

I love that you can bring your dog to the outside area, which is usually crowded with other people and their dogs. The parking situation is kind of sketchy unless you're going at an off peak time and even then it can be questionable because of the large space and small parking lots. The Catch-A-Fire Pizza is a big highlight and their pizza is super tasty, as are their salads. I wasn't as fond of their cinnamon skillet roll/bread/dough...whatever they called it. It lacked flavor. The service for the pizza place can be very slow and there's one staff person who is pretty rude, but most of them are okay. I don't drink beer, so can only go by what the BF says about their beer being nasty. I did try their ginger ale/ginger beer, whatever it was (non-alcoholic) and it was pretty good after I got used to the very strong ginger flavor. I'd definitely drink it again. read more

Had a chance to stop in Sunday for a few pints. The place is huge and laid out perfectly. Indoor shared seating and smaller tables offer a lot of opportunity to meet some new people while sipping some really good beer. The indoor area has garage doors for the outside / inside effect, the patio is large with a band area which is piped inside as well. Good TV's for Sunday Funday. Beer selection is great, food is a perfect compliment to all of this. My daughter had her service dog with her-no issues, there were dog's on the patio which people within the crowd seemed to appreciate the casual nature of the area. I loved the atmosphere. I went with my siblings for some local beer and pizza. I had originally gone to the original, smaller location. I was pleasantly surprised to see the expansion and to see that the place was packed on a Thursday night. I ordered two beers while I was there: Axis Mundi and Shade. Both were good in their own right, but I drank the Shade first. My bro-in-law got two beer as well: Boysen the Hood and Bouquet. I sampled both and they were good as well. My sister was our DD and got the Treehouse Soda, which was just the perfect amount of sweetness. For food, we ordered a pizza that had egg and meat on it. I tried to look up the name again and could not find an updated list online. Most pizzas looked delicious based on their descriptions. I liked how we got a notification via text message when the food was ready. It was very tasty and a large easily fed three hungry, beer-drinking people. We took a few pieces home. I liked how the place was constantly being cleaned by workers, maintaining its cleanliness. The outside area was great and the bathrooms were clean. The service was fast and effective. Visited Madtree 2.0 on a beautiful early afternoon the other day for a late lunch. Sat at the outside bar and ate our Catch-a-Fire pizza - husband got the chili and I got an Azacca High IPA which is my new favorite beer. Rode our bikes here from downtown - 12 mile round trip, only took about 30 min each way. I love this place. It's so spacious and comfortable. The bartenders and Catch-a-Fire staff are always friendly. I'm told it gets crazy busy because it's so popular which is why I went early in the afternoon on a weekday. You guys, can I give 2.0 10 stars? I loved it that much. Checked out the soft opening last night and let me tell you, the millions of dollars invested in this expansion are going to be worth EVERY PENNY. Problems the previous location had (parking, space, not enough pizza ovens for catch-a-fire) have been resolved. The new location is also in a more convenient location to individuals who live in Oakley. Located right off Madison road across from Crossroads and Oakley Kroger, it's now in a more walkable location. This space is great. I have no idea how large it actually is, but it felt at least football field sized. It's fresh, clean, and has plenty of standing and sitting areas / standing tables. I also love how spacious the high ceilings make it feel. Catch-a-Fire Pizza continues to share the space with Madtree and they have greatly expanded as well, with their own side of the building with multiple pizza ovens to support increased volume from the larger venue. The space has quite a few garage doors that will be great to open up during the warmer weather. Last night was a weird February 60 degrees so I stood outside on the [unfinished] patio and it's huge. This is absolutely going to be the "go-to" outdoor summer drinking space in the area, I have no doubts about it. It's also partially covered which is fantastic for any rainy days. They have taps inside and outside. Much more than the previous location. I'd say at least 30 but I didn't count. For as busy as it was last night, they were very organized and friendly. What is exciting is that I noticed many spaces that were not filled yet. From what I understand they will be filling the spaces with more machinery to brew more beer. The official "Grand Opening" is Saturday and I am already looking forward to it. Props to Madtree, this is exactly the kind of upgrade the space needed and one of many reasons why I am a huge fan of being an Oakley resident. read more

I am a huge fan of our local breweries in Cincinnati and MadTree 2.0 is definitely going to bring MadTree's taproom into the ballpark with Rhinegeist. Surprisingly just a week after the official grand opening we found parking right in the lot and there were probably 4 or more spaces open the whole time we were there. It's nice there is a large parking lot and also additional parking across the street. When leaving, however it was difficult to see all the people crossing the street (Madison Rd.) in the dark, maybe they could add some kind of cross walk! Entering MadTree 2.0 from the parking lot you walk right into the taproom and on your left is the Catch-a-Fire pizza station and kitchen which definitely makes you more aware of their food options than at the original MadTree. Everyone's pizzas looked delicious! Walking straight ahead you can enter the outdoor patio space which has its own outdoor bar as well (bar was not open). Unfortunately it appears the beautiful airplane hanger space is only for production and it was not open to the public. The taproom. however, has a lot of tables and chairs and also plenty of space for standing around. My only issue with MadTree 2.0 is the noise level. It looks like no one took into account the large crowds and hard surfaces everywhere for sound to bounce off of. Maybe it would be better once it is warm and they open all the garage doors but this weekend it was insanely loud and hard to hear each other, having to shout all night is not much fun and not what you're looking for in a brewery taproom environment. read more

This place is great, especially compared to their old location. Don't get me wrong - I loved going there but it was just quite small. This place is awesome! Two bars, a large indoor seating area with an amazing outdoor area and beer garden! Great to come get a drink after work or for a night on the town! Always friendly employees and great beer! To top it all off, they have their own restaurant inside - catch a fire pizza! The food is really yummy, never disappoints! If you like to bring your dog, you can still do that, but it has to be outside only due to the restaurant inside and health regulations. read more

MadTree 2.0 is a feast for the eyes AND the tastebuds! The industrial, string-lit structure outside is sprawling, dog-friendly, and so unique, complete with its own bar and a few games. The taproom is equally HUGE, while the actual brewery, fully visible from the taproom, is set up in something closely resembling an airplane hangar. With 32 taps there sure to be something for everyone, and the in-house "restaurant," Catch-A-Fire, has a large and diverse menu of more than just pizza! Be sure to look out the back windows, as the property backs up to a railroad track and makes for good scenery. Fun atmosphere with an inclusive feel to the place. Dogs and children are running around while groups of scarf wearing FCC fans are hunkered down at a high top drinking beer and cheering. Plenty of beer to select from and the food is excellent. The cauliflower crust pizza IMO is better than the traditional. Overall the food is delicious with plenty of options for all guests. My husband and I stopped into Madtree 2.0 on their first official day open. It was crowded as expected, but we absolutely loved the new location. When you enter in the regular entrance you're greeted by a huge open space and Catch A Fire Pizza. The new location has allowed Catch A Fire pizza expand over three times the old location. We quickly ordered our food and jumped in line for drinks. The bar inside is double the space of the old location, but it also wraps around outside from warm days doubling in size. The amount of seating and tables is what's really great about the new location. Even on opening day and extremely busy we were able to find a seat to enjoy our beer and pizza! The tap menu is huge and Madree is able to offer so many more options - love this! While it was a mild winter day, I didn't hang outside, but had to checkout the new beer garden. It's a great space for warm days and I look forward to enjoying it in the Spring. The bonus about the beer garden is the direct bar access. Overall we loved what Madtree did and look forward to all our future visits with friend! Great job Madtree and congrats! read more

We went on a Saturday just after they opened and it was already packed. No seats anywhere to be found....such an expansive facility with very little seating? It was a beautiful day but the outside patio bar was not open, nor were there any tables or games out there. And honestly, no smoking section anywhere, even on a portion of the outdoor patio? So instead people stand out by the street or the front door. Most importantly, this is actually the second time I've been here and have yet to find a welcoming employee. It's really a pretentious feeling, like you are lucky to be drinking their beer. I'll head right back down to OTR and drink better beer at a better location. Update: came back with a large group of girl friends. It was a Thursday around happy hour so we expected it to be crowded, and it was. We were able to find a table and get beers relatively quickly and the bartenders were quite friendly this time. We settled in to enjoy our evening but quickly realized it was FAR TOO loud in the taproom. I mean, music blaring so that we had to yell to each other across the narrow tables. Both tables around us were complaining about it also. We quickly made dinner reservations down the street and headed out. Honestly, I want to like this place, but I don't go to a brewery to hear loud music..it's not a club. Turn it down and let your patrons enjoy your beer and their friends. read more

This was our second visit the first was at the old location. There's plenty of parking and really was impressed w all the signage. Good job. The new location is very spacious, clean and relaxing spot to chill at for a while. They had lots of indoor, covered outdoor and uncovered seating. It had a nice breeze w fans to enjoy. We spotted corn hole to play outside. We were sad to see the Root beer was no longer being served. It was one of our favorites. We would love to see it back. Pretty please!!! The merchandise was nice. The Catch A Fire was mighty tasty. The peach caprese & beet deviled eggs were fantastic. We missed the poppers, hopefully they will return those to the menu. This is my first time at Madtree, which is ridiculous since I've lived here so long. Anyway, I really like the beer garden. It's relaxing, especially on a nice spring day. Guests are free to bring leashed dogs. The brewery also provides bowls that can be filled to ensure pups stay hydrated. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside of the building. However, unlike many local breweries in Cincinnati, Madtree serves food. This was nice because there was a large group of us visiting with one another. After a couple of hours, we got hungry but didn't have to worry about changing locations or ordering delivery. Though this was my first visit, it's most-likely not my last. read more

Check out what $18,000,000 can buy!! Very cool space, inside and out. There are more garage doors in here than I've probably ever seen anywhere. They should be able to open them up during certain weather or crowd-size conditions to open up whole new areas, depending on the situation. Great indoor area with high-top, low-top sitting, and standing bar "tables". Outside is a partially covered, mostly enclosed space that will be an awesome bier garten once we get past these 61° February days! 32 taps face inside and out (64 total). Catch-A-Fire Pizza is there in a much more expanded capacity, and very stylish. The "hangar" will be filled with the brewing tanks and machinery over time, and that will be fun to watch. There were whole areas that were not open tonight (their official opening, though the grand opening party is Saturday[and I have to work:( ]) and I'd bet all areas will be open. I think there are whole spaces that can be rented out for events/weddings, etc. OK, so Mad Tree 2.0 is open, and you need to go there. Oh yeah, they also serve beer. read more

This place is huge. Large indoor area, and a nice large outdoor area with overhead heaters and tented during the winters. They usually have at least 30 different beer varieties available. Even though I love this place, there are many things which could be improved, including: Parking - this bar has 100+ parking spots but needs at least double or triple that many. Or it would be nice if patrons could park across the street at Crossroads and have a safe way to cross the street. Drink ordering sucks - The bar is extra extra long and double sided which is great and horrible at the same time. The extra long bar is surrounded by bar stools and has tv's above the bars. It gives you plenty of room to saddle up to the bar, but it always feels like the worst bar set-up ever designed, as the bartenders have trouble identifying who is trying to order from those who are sitting at the bar enjoying their brew. It would seem like they could simply add a roped off section to each side, prohibiting patrons from sitting in designated drink order sections. I think this would make it easier for everyone... Food - the food is good and I love the text notification when your order is ready. But it is such a pain when you have to walk your food back to your table, as they don't provide trays. Plus should you want to have plates/silverware/napkins with your food, your only option is to walk back to where you picked up your food to get them. It would be a nice touch to add another area to grab these items, closer to the tables inside or outside. WiFi - free WiFi offered but only after you give the brewery your email and other details. Plus if you come back again, their network doesn't remember you and you have to re-register. So dumb! read more

Excellent beer, good for groups, lots of space. It's worth noting that parking on a weekend evening is limited because it gets very crowded, might be worth ubering instead of relying on a DD. The outdoor space is great in 3 of the 4 Ohio seasons. On-site food options are great. You can also schedule tours of the production side of the facility online, I certainly recommend if you're entertaining out-of-town guests. Clothing and other merchandise is also available for sale. Based on my observations, flat entrances/exits that would be ADA accessible. read more

As far as breweries go, I can't think of one more fun and more unpretentious than MadTree. I've had so-so experiences at other hipster breweries (lookin' at you Rhinegeist) so I was a bit apprehensive about going to another one. However, my friends reassured me that this place had much nicer bartenders and they were right. I got recommendations on beer based on what I usually drink (Miller Lite) without even a hint of an eye roll. The outdoor area is fantastic too, it could probably do with some more seating but it was super crowded when we were there so it was hard to tell. Would I come back? For sure. read more

Since Madtree is now my local bar (combined with a move I am now 3 blocks away from this gem) I have had the pleasure of visiting four seperate times. This is about the same number of times I visited Madtree 1.0 ever. I like the industrial space and the fact that the ceiling is a little lower in the tap room, it takes the volume down to a 9 from the 15 it would have been otherwise. And let me tell you, this place is CROWDED. I haven't been at a time that every table wasn't taken and the wait for pizza wasn't exponentially long. I'm glad the business is doing well! But I also can't wait to come at a non-prime time and enjoy it a little more intimately. The Grand Opening itself was a new level of crowded that I haven't experienced in a long time, but everyone was pleasant and we had a great time. It was also cool checking out the large event space, which from what I understand is the new go-to location for weddings in the area. Just an FYI, Catch-a-Fire caters events in both the large and smaller spaces and wine and spirits are available should your choose to add them to your event. The large beer garden is now officially open (lets hope the weather stays warm!) which is great as the main bar can get overrun easily. I would like them to add more variety to the taps, as more than a couple have been blown and they repeat beers on tap. Some of us non-IPA fans would like a beer as well! read more
