I love this newly. Founded place by me! The management is so kind and provides excellent customer care. The food I've had is delicious delicious. The marketing is just beautiful as far as presentation. I'm so happy with this place. I can't quite afford the Pani Puri every day but I sure wish I could because I love it and same for it's scrumptious Gulab Jamun!! YUMMMMY!!! The DOSA is fabulous and you should say it's presentation and you can give it as a gift, it is that beautiful! All that needs is a bow and maybe not even necessary!!! This has become my favorite Indian restaurant and I've been now ordering every week since I found it recently. I will continue doing so as long as I can! Came here on a whim because my friend and I were hungry and wanted something quick to eat that was not pizza. We decided on trying the samosas which was pretty descent, vegetable samosa with the two sauces, mint and tamarind, were actually pretty good. The space has several tables and counter space to dine in, and you can watch the workers prepare your items as the barriers and not completely covered. This is a plus but the downside of this location there are no restrooms therefore you must use hand sanitizers to clean your hands unless you visit a public bathroom prior to visiting this spot. The space appeared clean and it has good lighting as well. Perhaps if they'd install at least one stall that would make this place a more optimal eatery to visit. read more

This was a fun spot to try on for street Indian food, but be prepared for a moderate wait. I got the paneer canteen sandwich and Idli fries. It seemed they forgot my order since people who ordered after me received their food and someone from the kitchen asked me if I had ordered yet/what I had ordered. There seemed to be many orders where to go/dine in was switched around as well. For the food itself, the paneer sandwich was fantastic and very filling. The idli fries were decent but were cut in cubes and deeply fried, so there wasnt as much of a soft inner idli texture as I would have liked. One thing to also keep in mind is they do not have a public restroom. Overall, this is a good eatery to check our, but make sure to account for extra time for a moderate wait. read more

A fast casual spot for Indian food in Times Square! While dosa is the main dish, the menu spans into many other options. I tried the traditional masala dosa and pav bhaji dosa. Each comes with a chutney, sambar lentil soup, and a garlic dip. I found the food to be a bit spicy for me, but still good. I don't know if 'mild' is an option for the dosa I ordered. Lol Cool to see the dosa perfectly made in front of you. Everything was nicely packaged to go. Service was great! Indoor seating is cute with elephant artwork. Meh. I tried the traditional masala dosa (was a little dense) and chili cheese sandwich (honestly better than the dosa). Obviously you can get a better dosa at Dosa Delight or Temple Canteen or the guy in Washington square park, but it's Times Square so we'll take what we can get. I will say the sauces that came with the dosa were excellent. They also forgot my friend's order and it took forever to get our food. I really enjoyed the options on the menu and how different they are from Indian food you'd find at sit down restaurants. As more street food, the variety is fun and interesting. We got the paneer uttapam and lamb canteen sandwich. The canteen sandwich was our favorite - I'd probably get a different filling for the uttapam next time so that it's not so dry in texture. very good dosa spot. i went with the masala dosa, which had a thin base with a wonderful crunch. it was warm, and the potato filling was full of spiced potatoes, making for a large and satisfying meal. it was a good option, but compared to other dosa shops, i think it's standard. the service was good, and they have many different menu options. everyone was very nice. i would recommend trying this spot out. the restaurant was very clean and spacious inside. read more

What works: fresh interiors, easy ordering, clean place, and ultra quick service. What doesn't work: the way food is served. Probably works really well as a to-go service, in which case, it's a 4 star. But to sit down, pay $15 for a masala dosa, and not get sambar, and chutney's in a steel plate takes away that authenticity from a "South Indian" restaurant. Yeah I am sure poeple will say it's not just South Indian food, but the name of the place wants you to stick to that cuisine. Ordered Vada ($12), which was okay-ish and couldn't really enjoy dipping it in my plastic container of sambar. The tamarind chutney was absolute banger though. Keema Pav ($16) lacked that masala kick to it, while the Pani Puri's ($12) did manage to hit the spot. We are finally living in the golden age of the thatte idli. I've been complaining for years that this is the idli in its ultimate form, and yet nowhere in the city would have it on their menu. Finally in 2025 there are plentiful restaurants serving it, including this new casual dosa spot near Times Square. Unfortunately, Madras Dosa's thatte idli was quite dry, and was probably my least favorite part of the meal. The masala dosa in comparison was quite nice and crispy - the sambar was great, the nariyal chutney was rather watery. (If I had just ordered the dosa, this review would have been 4 stars.) I work close by and Madras dosa is my preferred lunch spot. Seating is limited. It has a bright Bollywood vibe. The ambience is neat, clean and quiet enough.
