Chicken nachos

We love taking little day trips to Cazenovia from Syracuse, & I can't believe we've never stopped here! 5 stars all around. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, and my husband had a few free tastings of the spirits that they make. I tried their gin, and I can say hands down it's the best, most flavorful gin I've ever tasted. We had a few of their special cocktails, and they also have a great selection of craft beer. We got their chicken nachos, and they were fantastic. We are huge nacho fanatics and they lay them flat on the tray so all the chips get the toppings (the best way!) Their pico de gallo was great and the chicken had a nice smokey flavor. We saw on the wall that they won best taco; so next time we will definitely be checking that out. We noticed they have live music scheduled throughout the week and we checked outside and they had corn hole and some fire pits and plenty of seating. Can't wait to be back!

Such a wonderful place to come hang out. Some great signature vodka and gin drinks as well as local beer. The tacos are amazing as well as the buff dip, and the candied bacon is incredible. Come and see this place!

In trying times, a slice of heaven. Amazing, warm family atmosphere with great drinks, tasty food, and friendly service. A must visit! Seriously, come here.

What a wonderful, beautiful place. The staff is absolutely amazing. And the drinks, AWESOME, very tasty. All around a great time and experience when we are here.

This place a real find. Looking forward to coming back often.

Fun cocktails! We got the taco flight and our favorites were the fish and beef. Great beer selection, a little bit of everything.

You will be happy you made the trip. Sure it's off the beaten path but isn't that what life is all about? Find a beaten path then make the best of its experiences. When you arrive you will be greeted and treated by the proprietor. A genuine, hard-working distiller who loves his craft. See his passion come to life in this distillers whiskeys. My suggestion would be to do what we did and get yourself a flight of the various options and decide for yourself which one is right. There's Apple-based whiskeys, whiskey's distilled in maple barrels, to 110+ proof heavy duty stuff, there's a nice selection for all. Oh, and don't forget to try the slushy's. Don't bother with the sampler, dive right into the largest one they offer. You probably won't be the one driving back at that point. These are outstanding! Inside the gift shop you'll be astounded by the array of dragon themed trinkets and gifts. Even the restroom holds its own uniqueness. You can sit inside or outside, either way you will be glad you took the trip.

I cannot say enough we were there for almost 2 hours and even picked up a few Christmas gifts. always an adventure and fun!

Reminded us of a Reece's, and would be delicious mixed in coffee! All the samples we had were wonderful! The woman serving was a delight and told us some of the history of the distillery and her family relation to it. It was near the end of the day but she didn't seem to care that we were there and chatted away happily afterwards! Well lucky for us we stopped in on a whim (let's be honest I'm a sucker for good branding). The property is clean and simple, the tasting room was in line with what we experienced last last in Kentucky in more rural spots. They make gin, vodka and whiskey. I'm not much of a liquor drinker but my husband bought 4 bottles and said it's fantastic- he is very into bourbon and if he says it's good then it is. To my untrained palate it tastes like alcohol. It's $3 for 3 tastings and you can also get a cocktail. There is a fair amount of branded products and souvenirs. So it would be a good spot to pull together a gift basket for Fathers Day or Christmas. Absolutely worth a visit- a beautiful craft distillery with a friendly knowledgeable staff.

Friday is the burger special, it has beef and brisket and is juicy and delicious. The bun is always nicely toasted and it comes with cheese, lettuce, onion and tomatoes and fries. The fries are hot and crispy but there was a bit too much salt ( for me), so next time I'll remember to ask for no salt. My friend had no problem with the salt. My friend ordered the soup of the day which was Corn Chowder with Shrimp. It sounded good but I know if I have soup, I can't finish lunch. As soon as they brought out the soup and I had just a spoonful..... I had to get a bowl. Plenty of shrimp and corn , lots of flavor and it was smooth and light and delicious. I am not a fan of chowders that are thick as "pudding". We didn't have any drinks this time, but they have an amazing list of ciders, ales, beers on tap. Their own distilled spirits are excellent as well. Service is always good!

Our first time here over the weekend…read more Located inside the Skaneateles Brewery, this is a small, but welcoming tasting room. We opted for two tastings, which gave us 8 different products to sample. All of them were ok, but the standouts were the 4 Grain and the 2 cream liqueurs. We also ordered two cocktails, one was a whiskey sour and the other was pear based. Again, they were ok, but we would like to see them up their game to showcase the spirits with a house made sour mix instead of pre-bottled. Regardless, the employees were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

Yes, I now know they have the word "distillery" in the title but my assumption was this was strictly a craft brew place... wrong. I consider myself a very casual beer consumer. My preference is bourbon. While my friends all enjoyed their craft brews, I sampled the $4 flight of spirits coming away quite satisfied with every single one. And, I'm picky when it comes to Bourbon. My flight choice included the Four Grain whiskey, the Skaneateles whiskey, the Bourbon, the crème brûlée, and the honey barreled. Yes, I know, that makes 5. Though the flight was only 4 choices the server was very gracious and let me try the maple barreled one... sweet, but yum! The Four grain whiskey was one of the highly decorated spirits winning numerous gold awards. Though my first choice is not whiskey, this was absolutely fabulous! Deep, rich flavor that won't overtake your palette. The master distiller gets a lot of praise for the work he puts into his creations, all of which are earned. I found the Skaneateles whiskey to be quite excellent as well with its smooth finish and flavorful draw. Their bourbon stands right up there with some of the best I've had. I found a hint of maple, cherry flavor but not oaky. The crème brûlée was a nice sweet spirit a kin to Bailey's or Frangelica's. It's something coffee drinkers would find pleasant to add to their drink. I also very much enjoyed the maple whiskey. Having a sweet tooth for these sort of things this New York-based foundation made for a sweet tasty drink. There is seating inside and out. The day we were there they had live music. No question, we will all definitely be back again. I look forward to the time we can sit outside as well.

Excellent local distillery in the Catskill Mountains of upstate NY…read more My girlfriend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon in May after hiking for a few hours. Business was slow so the woman serving drinks offered us a free tasting of their four main liquors: vodka, gin, maple spirit, and rye whiskey. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to give us detailed descriptions of each one. I'm no liquor expert but the gin and maple spirit were both delicious. We bought a bottle of each and can't wait to tuck into them later. We stayed for a few cocktails as well and really enjoyed their pleasant tasting room. They offered free tours AND tastings, created seasonal cocktails, and even possessed a full event calendar. Their tasting included the Vly Creek Vodka, Drie Brook Rye Whiskey, FirGIN, and the Catskill Mountain Maple Spirit. The vodka was uniquely composed from wheat and apples, giving it a hint of sweetness and making it smooth enough to drink straight. The rye was excellent and not overly harsh, and the gin was packed with various herbs. The maple beverage was 80 proof and resembled a sweet rum or bourbon. I was not the hugest fan of the gin, but the others were all terrific! Also, the woman that hosted our experience was a complete sweetheart! There was a bar where you could order cocktails that included their products and a lounge in which to enjoy them. I opted for a seasonal blend of vodka, lemonade, and watermelon that was freshly-pressed by the owner. It was strong, but also tart and refreshing. The Union Grove Distillery provided a highly engaging and informative tasting, as well as a comfortable environment in which to enjoy their crafted liquors.
