So tasty, perfect on a hot summer day. Awesome outdoor seating, plenty of room for lots to gather. Friendly employees, great communication about the cocktails and liquor.

Had an amazing time chatting with Chris the distiller. The spirits are great - I especially loved the chocolate cream, but my husband favored the bourbon. Can't wait to come back when it's warmer and we can hang outside!

Stopped by here to do a quick tasting and pick up a bottle. Found it randomly by searching for distilleries on google maps when we had an hr to kill between activities. We were glad we stopped in. The bartender was very sweet and explained everything to us and the differences in the types of booze. The head distiller guy (forgot his name, oops!) also gave us a nice run down of the process. The clear panels downstairs that show off the distillery equipment is pretty cool, and it looks like they had some spaces for larger events as well. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the interior is quite charming.

A perfect example where passion and love shine through into the product! Their bourbon id smooth with warm notes of vanilla and caramel. Their gin (just released) is also smooth, but with the flavor of fresh, bright spice and citrus. Chris is the proud distiller who will share with you how these (and his other) liquors come to be. What a treat, as if Skaneatles wasn't already wonderful.

    Under their picnic table!

You will be happy you made the trip. Sure it's off the beaten path but isn't that what life is all about? Find a beaten path then make the best of its experiences. When you arrive you will be greeted and treated by the proprietor. A genuine, hard-working distiller who loves his craft. See his passion come to life in this distillers whiskeys. My suggestion would be to do what we did and get yourself a flight of the various options and decide for yourself which one is right. There's Apple-based whiskeys, whiskey's distilled in maple barrels, to 110+ proof heavy duty stuff, there's a nice selection for all. Oh, and don't forget to try the slushy's. Don't bother with the sampler, dive right into the largest one they offer. You probably won't be the one driving back at that point. These are outstanding! Inside the gift shop you'll be astounded by the array of dragon themed trinkets and gifts. Even the restroom holds its own uniqueness. So we arrived on a Saturday because the place online stated that it was closed during the week. Someone mentioned it to the owner while we were there and she said we are opened all week, well Google said differently and we would have came sooner. My wife got a mixed drink but me I sampled the different whiskeys from mushroom infused, Rye, Bourbon and other items. Let me tell you I never expected it would be as good as it was. I was truly impressed with what they had on the shelves. I enjoyed a glass of Rye whiskey neat and came home with a bottle of the bourbon and the Rye. They both were exceptional. What is nice is that they offer it in 375 and 750 ml. Which is nice when places do this it's nice in case you're not certain if you want to purchase the more expensive bottle. Mushroom Spirits Distillery is living proof that you should never judge a book by its cover. Tucked away in a modest space, this distillery may seem unassuming from the outside, but inside lies a treasure trove of exceptional spirits waiting to be discovered. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the cozy intimacy of the distillery. While the space may be small, it only adds to the charm and character of the experience. However, I would recommend spacing out your visit, as the limited seating area can quickly become crowded, especially during peak times. During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling the distillery's offerings, and I was blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of their spirits. Despite the small size of the establishment, the selection was impressive, with each drink offering a unique and unforgettable flavor experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, with only a single person serving us, I was impressed by the dedication and professionalism of the staff. Despite being busy attending to all of us, our server remained attentive and accommodating, ensuring that each guest received the attention they deserved. It's clear that Mushroom Spirits Distillery is a labor of love, with a commitment to excellence that shines through in every aspect of the experience. From the quality of the spirits to the warmth of the service, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to ensure a memorable visit. In conclusion, Mushroom Spirits Distillery is a true hidden gem that deserves to be explored and appreciated. Don't let its modest exterior fool you - inside, you'll find an extraordinary experience waiting to be savored. Whether you're a seasoned spirits enthusiast or simply looking for a unique outing, I highly recommend paying a visit to Mushroom Spirits Distillery. You won't be disappointed.

The fries are hot and crispy but there was a bit too much salt ( for me), so next time I'll remember to ask for no salt. My friend had no problem with the salt. My friend ordered the soup of the day which was Corn Chowder with Shrimp. It sounded good but I know if I have soup, I can't finish lunch. As soon as they brought out the soup and I had just a spoonful..... I had to get a bowl. Plenty of shrimp and corn , lots of flavor and it was smooth and light and delicious. I am not a fan of chowders that are thick as "pudding". We didn't have any drinks this time, but they have an amazing list of ciders, ales, beers on tap. Their own distilled spirits are excellent as well. Service is always good!

The property is clean and simple, the tasting room was in line with what we experienced last last in Kentucky in more rural spots. They make gin, vodka and whiskey. I'm not much of a liquor drinker but my husband bought 4 bottles and said it's fantastic- he is very into bourbon and if he says it's good then it is. To my untrained palate it tastes like alcohol. It's $3 for 3 tastings and you can also get a cocktail. There is a fair amount of branded products and souvenirs. So it would be a good spot to pull together a gift basket for Fathers Day or Christmas. Absolutely worth a visit- a beautiful craft distillery with a friendly knowledgeable staff.

There's a variety of mixed drinks using their on-premises gin and vodka as well as a small assortment of local wine. A sign says that you must order food to purchase drinks. Fine with us. The food choices at this time are snacky: chips and guac, brie bites, chips and salsa, nachos, etc. Everything but the brie in pastry cups was gluten free. The building is very nice and the family owners are as friendly as can be. I also visited a couple days ago and bought a bottle of gin. It's different from my normal preference but since they offer a small taste, it's easy to tell if you'll like it before purchasing. Finally, I like that they bring a chip/contactless credit card machine to you. It's similar to units that are common in Europe. I like that so much better than handing over my card. Receipts can be printed or emailed. It's very slick tech and very secure. I like supporting small, local, family operated businesses and this is a good one. It would have been 5 stars with a more extensive menu.

The Good: The history of the John Alden designed schooner is worth reading before you go. We had some more "salty" members of our group that recognized the name of the schooner from the 1956 movie "High Society" starring Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra and after that we were on board for a wonderful time. We even were seated in the seats once occupied by Gene and Bing. We purchased our tickets after being approached by Terry who negotiated a decent price with us because he wanted a full boat for the next trip. Captain Bill was an experienced Captain and is well known in the area. He got us underway and was a delightful host regaling us with stories about the "True Love", Seneca Lake and surroundings, as well as, some stories about racing the "True Love" and his crew, Spencer and Marena. Captain Bill even assisted another sailing boat that was in distress and precariously close to the lake edge. The trip was two hours long and on time. The crew served non-alcoholic and adult beverages (some free, some for a price) while underway and also sold some souvenirs (Whisky and glasses). The Bad: There was nothing bad, from start to finish, this was a very enjoyable trip and the crew definitely enjoyed sharing their love of the "Trie Love" with the joyful passengers. The Ugly: Absolutely nothing other than we could not be out for longer. If you find yourself in Watkins Glen, this is definitely an enjoyable to kick back, relax, and let the wind fill your sails.
