Stumbled upon them at the state fair, had to try one of their specialty drinks, definitely worth every penny.

What an amazing place. Food was excellent. Had the 1911 chicken and pulled pork poutine...the cider flights were delicious...of course we couldn't go without having the fall staples...hot cider, and apple cider donuts ... they have a great general store and tons of their spirits for sale as well. The views of the valley are breathtaking!!! Don't pass up the visit if you find yourself out their way. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

1911 is always on the list for top crazy concoctions and this year was no exception! Cosmic love definitely made the list! I liked the refreshing mixture in the actual drink, a blue raspberry lemonade slushy taste, the whipped cream, and sugar dipped cone lavished with pink cotton candy makes it so over the top and picture worthy! I had a young lady ask if she could take a picture of it as well! Luckily we were able to score a table in the tent to figure out how to consume this creation!

Fantastic cider. The 5 cider tasting is a great deal. The cider was so good that I bought some, particularly the Candy Corn.

Found this gem on the way to Syracuse, had the ciders before, and didn't realize it was so close to where I was going. The cider place is huge with a big parking lot. We opted to do the spirit flight for $12, which was 5 different liquor. We also each got a double for $11, which is a fantastic price. I went with the donut bourbon cream, and my boyfriend got the orchard palmer. His was very tasty. Mine was okay, we then got two other drinks, which were fantastic. The bartender was super friendly, and we arrived on a Friday during the day in April, so it wasn't busy at all, which was great. They have a pretty nice size store to get product. I went home with a bottle of Chai liquor.

Super cool venue that happens to be an apple orchard, makes wine, hard cider and distilled spirits, with live concerts. I came recently for a concert and had no idea this was here. Gorgeous property and so much to see and do. There are very reasonable priced tastings for their wine, hard cider and distilled spirits. Lots of varieties to choose from and the pours were generous. In the tasting room there was plenty of indoor seating and an upscale take out food menu. We had the mushroom cheeseburger, it was delicious. There is also a large gift shop which sold their beverages and tons of cute gift items. The property is so large they hold concerts here in the summer. Huge stage and lots of room. Since it is covid times the concert seating was set up in pods. I like this option and it allows people to wander, dance, sit and still have some room. One of the neatest and most original concert venues I've been to. I'd definitely come back in a heartbeat. While I was here I enjoyed the shandy hard cider. It was light and summery. I've also indulged in the apple wines in the past. They are not too sweet but still appley. Kind of like hard cider without the bubbles.

I've loved the 1911 ciders from the store so while some family was in town I figured let's go to the actual cidery. It is without a doubt in the middle of nowhere so it is a bit of a drive if you are only planning on a short visit. The location is beautiful and there is plenty to see and the grounds are well taken care of. The taste room for the ciders was as expected and for 5 glasses it was only $8 which is pretty reasonable. The food was a bit more expensive and there weren't many options so just keep that in mind. They do have a summer concert series which was great and the place was hopping but I could see it being slower during the non concert days. I think overall it was a cute place, nice ciders (which you can buy in bulk here slightly cheaper than the store and had a wider variety), and good music.

A great place to relax during the summer; the fall is busy, bustling with activity. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The orchard Palmer is delicious, highly recommend. The store is adorable and has lots of unique items.

This place has some amazing hard cider and spirit options. I wanted to try every cider option but specifically highly enjoy the unique IPC Hopper. They have so many options to choose from. I do want to come back in a post pandemic time to do a tasting here since it is closed due to health safety reasons. The gentleman manning the front gave some yummy sounding recipe ideas for how to use their spirits in mixed drinks which was appreciated. I will definitely be tagging my family to bring cider down when they come to see us in GA. A girl can dream that one day they'll ship 1911 hard ciders to GA stores.

When we arrived back at our daughter's home, our son-in-law asked how it was. Her response was, "It was great." That sums it up well. There's a variety of mixed drinks using their on-premises gin and vodka as well as a small assortment of local wine. A sign says that you must order food to purchase drinks. Fine with us. The food choices at this time are snacky: chips and guac, brie bites, chips and salsa, nachos, etc. Everything but the brie in pastry cups was gluten free. The building is very nice and the family owners are as friendly as can be. I also visited a couple days ago and bought a bottle of gin. It's different from my normal preference but since they offer a small taste, it's easy to tell if you'll like it before purchasing. Finally, I like that they bring a chip/contactless credit card machine to you. It's similar to units that are common in Europe. I like that so much better than handing over my card. Receipts can be printed or emailed. It's very slick tech and very secure. I like supporting small, local, family operated businesses and this is a good one. It would have been 5 stars with a more extensive menu.

Our next stop of the day took us to our first distillery visit of the trip, and wow--Finger Lakes…read moreDistilling did not disappoint. What surprised us most? This was our very first time visiting, and we hadn't even realized they had been established since 2007! Knowing that they had been perfecting their craft for over 17 years, we were eager to dive into the tasting experience and see what they had to offer. The tasting room had a laid-back yet polished feel, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to guide us through their lineup of small-batch, handcrafted spirits. The distillery prides itself on using locally sourced grains and fruits, and you could tell from the first sip that quality and attention to detail were at the heart of their process. The Tasting Lineup I opted for a tasting of four different spirits, and after enjoying those, I was encouraged to try two more--a bonus that made the experience even better. Here's what I sampled: 1 Straight Bourbon - This was beautifully balanced, with sweet corn and vanilla upfront, followed by a warming spicy rye kick on the finish. Smooth yet complex, it was a fantastic introduction to their bourbon lineup. 2 Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon - A true standout, this one had rich caramel and toasted oak flavors, along with the perfect balance of spice and warmth. Aged for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof, it had a bold yet refined character that made it easy to appreciate. 3 McKenzie Straight Rye - If you're a fan of rye whiskey, this one is for you. It had that signature spicy rye bite, but what really made it unique was the sweet sherry cask finish, adding a layer of richness and complexity that lingered beautifully. 4 Bottled-in-Bond Rye - One of the most interesting pours of the day, this rye was bursting with flavors of chocolate, nougat, and dried red fruit. The influence of the barrel aging was prominent, giving it a decadent, almost dessert-like quality while still holding onto its classic rye spice. After those four, I couldn't resist trying two additional spirits: 5 Apple Brandy (Aged 10 Years) - A masterfully aged apple brandy that showcased deep, caramelized apple flavors, balanced with warm baking spices and oak influence. The 10 years in the barrel really allowed this spirit to develop incredible depth and smoothness. 6 Grappa - This was an unexpected favorite--simply sensational. Grappa can sometimes be overpowering, but this one was smooth, refined, and packed with rich grape flavors, making it one of the best versions I've tried. Taking a Piece of Finger Lakes Distilling Home While every single pour was impressive, the one that stood out the most for me was the Straight Bourbon--so much so that I had to bring a bottle home. It reminded me of a classic Rye Whiskey, with just enough spice to keep things interesting but smooth enough to sip neat. Final Thoughts Finger Lakes Distilling far exceeded expectations, and I can't believe it took us this long to visit! With their commitment to quality, incredible range of spirits, and inviting tasting experience, this is a must-visit for anyone exploring the Finger Lakes region--whether you're a bourbon lover, rye enthusiast, or just appreciate finely crafted spirits. It was the perfect stop to break up a day of wineries and breweries, offering something distinctly different yet equally enjoyable. Next time, I'd love to stay a little longer, maybe sip on a whiskey cocktail and take in the atmosphere even more. Cheers to great whiskey and new discoveries!

Had tried their McKensie bourbon at a bar or top and liked it, so was happy that it was on the itinerary of our wine and spirits tour. The space, like most wineries/distilleries/breweries up here, overlooks a lake (Seneca in this case) which is very scenic. Inside of the place was very nice and the staff could not be friendlier. I can't underscore the importance of the latter. Selection here is awesome. Some places make 2 bourbons and call themselves a distillery. These guys do whiskey, gin, vodka, varietals and other specialty stuff. I focused on the whiskeys which were awesome. I can see why these guys have won so many medals. I tried the small batch, cannoli infused bourbon, applejack, rye, straight bourbon, bottled in bond, single malt and Applejack. Everything was at least noteworthy. Single malt was awesome, which is the biggest thing I look for as the true test of a distillery. They had just started making the applejack, and it one of these best I've tried. People don't what the hell this is, but it's basically cider-based whiskey; it's great for cooking, drinking and was the first American-invented spirit going back to colonial times. Don't sleep on it. Only one I wish I had tried was the pot stilled, but I had enough to know it's probably good. I took home the applejack and the single malt, as those are really my go to's, however there was a lot worth trying. Also nice to see them offer number of cool cocktail options for those less inclined to drink pure alcohol. We ended the visit with some cigars infused with their cordials, which were an awesome surprise. This place is destination worthy. People think of wine when they think Finger Lakes, but there's more up here than that. This places exemplifies that. Will be back, and will buy their stuff locally.

I was truly impressed with what they had on the shelves. I enjoyed a glass of Rye whiskey neat and came home with a bottle of the bourbon and the Rye. They both were exceptional. Mushroom Spirits Distillery is living proof that you should never judge a book by its cover. Tucked away in a modest space, this distillery may seem unassuming from the outside, but inside lies a treasure trove of exceptional spirits waiting to be discovered. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the cozy intimacy of the distillery. While the space may be small, it only adds to the charm and character of the experience. However, I would recommend spacing out your visit, as the limited seating area can quickly become crowded, especially during peak times. During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling the distillery's offerings, and I was blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of their spirits. Despite the small size of the establishment, the selection was impressive, with each drink offering a unique and unforgettable flavor experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, with only a single person serving us, I was impressed by the dedication and professionalism of the staff. Despite being busy attending to all of us, our server remained attentive and accommodating, ensuring that each guest received the attention they deserved. It's clear that Mushroom Spirits Distillery is a labor of love, with a commitment to excellence that shines through in every aspect of the experience. From the quality of the spirits to the warmth of the service, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to ensure a memorable visit. In conclusion, Mushroom Spirits Distillery is a true hidden gem that deserves to be explored and appreciated. Don't let its modest exterior fool you - inside, you'll find an extraordinary experience waiting to be savored. Whether you're a seasoned spirits enthusiast or simply looking for a unique outing, I highly recommend paying a visit to Mushroom Spirits Distillery. You won't be disappointed.

He had 9 ciders on tap and they ranged from the standard cidery - just apple - to fruity blends. They also varied from dry to sweeter. The 9 pours worked out to $27 and the glasses were a good size! There were some seating indoors, inside the renovated farmhouse. The majority of the seating is outdoors, on wood picnic tables. Be aware tho 'cause the tables underneath the trees were covered in ants, there was a whiff of cow manure, & cidery is perched overlooking a main road so there are cars whizzing by. So if you don't like these things, best to sit indoors. Highlights for me were "Mint To Be" (tasted like spa water), "Ginspired" (tasted like gin), & "Just Peachy". Like the other reviewers said, it's a drier style cider, but honestly, they were still enjoyable to me and I don't like super dry wines! After we finished our flight, I made a mental note of the ones that I wanted to purchase, but to my disappointment only Crimson Crisp was available in a can. The rest of them were only available in 750mL bottles for ~$20/bottle. So I just ended up buying 1 bottle as opposed to a few cans. I'd say that that was my only complaint. A great stop in Picton if you enjoy ciders!
