    Pickle burger
    Sarah P.

I have visited the 1911 establishment before but this time I got their food at the New York State fair. I usually only try their drink drinks but this time I got a burger. It was the pickle burger. The surface was really great and they actually had my food out in a decent amount of time and there was a long line, so it was pretty impressive with the timing. When I went to eat the burger, it was good, but it was pretty dry and I wish there was more sauce on it. There was a pickle sauce on there, but it wasn't really noticeable as it mostly absorbed into the bread or the meat and it was still dry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience at the fair is always great just as well as the 1911 establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stumbled upon them at the state fair, had to try one of their specialty drinks, definitely worth every penny.

What an amazing place. Food was excellent. Had the 1911 chicken and pulled pork poutine...the cider flights were delicious...of course we couldn't go without having the fall staples...hot cider, and apple cider donuts ... they have a great general store and tons of their spirits for sale as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The views of the valley are breathtaking!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't pass up the visit if you find yourself out their way. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

1911 is always on the list for top crazy concoctions and this year was no exception! Cosmic love definitely made the list! I liked the refreshing mixture in the actual drink, a blue raspberry lemonade slushy taste, the whipped cream, and sugar dipped cone lavished with pink cotton candy makes it so over the top and picture worthy! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a young lady ask if she could take a picture of it as well![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Luckily we were able to score a table in the tent to figure out how to consume this creation![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Fantastic cider. The 5 cider tasting is a great deal. The cider was so good that I bought some, particularly the Candy Corn.

Found this gem on the way to Syracuse, had the ciders before, and didn't realize it was so close to where I was going. The cider place is huge with a big parking lot. We opted to do the spirit flight for $12, which was 5 different liquor. We also each got a double for $11, which is a fantastic price. I went with the donut bourbon cream, and my boyfriend got the orchard palmer. His was very tasty. Mine was okay, we then got two other drinks, which were fantastic. The bartender was super friendly, and we arrived on a Friday during the day in April, so it wasn't busy at all, which was great. They have a pretty nice size store to get product. I went home with a bottle of Chai liquor.

Super cool venue that happens to be an apple orchard, makes wine, hard cider and distilled spirits, with live concerts. I came recently for a concert and had no idea this was here. Gorgeous property and so much to see and do. There are very reasonable priced tastings for their wine, hard cider and distilled spirits. Lots of varieties to choose from and the pours were generous. In the tasting room there was plenty of indoor seating and an upscale take out food menu. We had the mushroom cheeseburger, it was delicious. There is also a large gift shop which sold their beverages and tons of cute gift items. The property is so large they hold concerts here in the summer. Huge stage and lots of room. Since it is covid times the concert seating was set up in pods. I like this option and it allows people to wander, dance, sit and still have some room. One of the neatest and most original concert venues I've been to. I'd definitely come back in a heartbeat. While I was here I enjoyed the shandy hard cider. It was light and summery. I've also indulged in the apple wines in the past. They are not too sweet but still appley. Kind of like hard cider without the bubbles.

I've loved the 1911 ciders from the store so while some family was in town I figured let's go to the actual cidery. It is without a doubt in the middle of nowhere so it is a bit of a drive if you are only planning on a short visit. The location is beautiful and there is plenty to see and the grounds are well taken care of. The taste room for the ciders was as expected and for 5 glasses it was only $8 which is pretty reasonable. The food was a bit more expensive and there weren't many options so just keep that in mind. They do have a summer concert series which was great and the place was hopping but I could see it being slower during the non concert days. I think overall it was a cute place, nice ciders (which you can buy in bulk here slightly cheaper than the store and had a wider variety), and good music.

A great place to relax during the summer; the fall is busy, bustling with activity. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The orchard Palmer is delicious, highly recommend. The store is adorable and has lots of unique items.

This place has some amazing hard cider and spirit options. I wanted to try every cider option but specifically highly enjoy the unique IPC Hopper. They have so many options to choose from. I do want to come back in a post pandemic time to do a tasting here since it is closed due to health safety reasons. The gentleman manning the front gave some yummy sounding recipe ideas for how to use their spirits in mixed drinks which was appreciated. I will definitely be tagging my family to bring cider down when they come to see us in GA. A girl can dream that one day they'll ship 1911 hard ciders to GA stores.

There was live music and a heavy snack buffet bar that included quesadillas, fried pickles, BBQ chicken sliders, and potato salad. I won a bottle of flavored vodka, some candy, and a dozen donuts (that I have to return for). It was a fun twist on a childhood Easter activity with a few opportunities to win something fun. Just be advised that you may need to return some of the prizes.

We opted for two tastings, which gave us 8 different products to sample. All of them were ok, but the standouts were the 4 Grain and the 2 cream liqueurs. We also ordered two cocktails, one was a whiskey sour and the other was pear based. Again, they were ok, but we would like to see them up their game to showcase the spirits with a house made sour mix instead of pre-bottled. Regardless, the employees were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

Yes, I now know they have the word "distillery" in the title but my assumption was this was strictly a craft brew place... wrong. I consider myself a very casual beer consumer. My preference is bourbon. While my friends all enjoyed their craft brews, I sampled the $4 flight of spirits coming away quite satisfied with every single one. And, I'm picky when it comes to Bourbon. My flight choice included the Four Grain whiskey, the Skaneateles whiskey, the Bourbon, the crème brûlée, and the honey barreled. Yes, I know, that makes 5. Though the flight was only 4 choices the server was very gracious and let me try the maple barreled one... sweet, but yum! The Four grain whiskey was one of the highly decorated spirits winning numerous gold awards. Though my first choice is not whiskey, this was absolutely fabulous! Deep, rich flavor that won't overtake your palette. The master distiller gets a lot of praise for the work he puts into his creations, all of which are earned. I found the Skaneateles whiskey to be quite excellent as well with its smooth finish and flavorful draw. Their bourbon stands right up there with some of the best I've had. I found a hint of maple, cherry flavor but not oaky. The crème brûlée was a nice sweet spirit a kin to Bailey's or Frangelica's. It's something coffee drinkers would find pleasant to add to their drink. I also very much enjoyed the maple whiskey. Having a sweet tooth for these sort of things this New York-based foundation made for a sweet tasty drink. There is seating inside and out. The day we were there they had live music. No question, we will all definitely be back again. I look forward to the time we can sit outside as well.

This was our very first time visiting, and we hadn't even realized they had been established since 2007! Knowing that they had been perfecting their craft for over 17 years, we were eager to dive into the tasting experience and see what they had to offer. The tasting room had a laid-back yet polished feel, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to guide us through their lineup of small-batch, handcrafted spirits. The distillery prides itself on using locally sourced grains and fruits, and you could tell from the first sip that quality and attention to detail were at the heart of their process. The Tasting Lineup I opted for a tasting of four different spirits, and after enjoying those, I was encouraged to try two more--a bonus that made the experience even better. Here's what I sampled: 1 Straight Bourbon - This was beautifully balanced, with sweet corn and vanilla upfront, followed by a warming spicy rye kick on the finish. Smooth yet complex, it was a fantastic introduction to their bourbon lineup. 2 Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon - A true standout, this one had rich caramel and toasted oak flavors, along with the perfect balance of spice and warmth. Aged for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof, it had a bold yet refined character that made it easy to appreciate. 3 McKenzie Straight Rye - If you're a fan of rye whiskey, this one is for you. It had that signature spicy rye bite, but what really made it unique was the sweet sherry cask finish, adding a layer of richness and complexity that lingered beautifully. 4 Bottled-in-Bond Rye - One of the most interesting pours of the day, this rye was bursting with flavors of chocolate, nougat, and dried red fruit. The influence of the barrel aging was prominent, giving it a decadent, almost dessert-like quality while still holding onto its classic rye spice. After those four, I couldn't resist trying two additional spirits: 5 Apple Brandy (Aged 10 Years) - A masterfully aged apple brandy that showcased deep, caramelized apple flavors, balanced with warm baking spices and oak influence. The 10 years in the barrel really allowed this spirit to develop incredible depth and smoothness. 6 Grappa - This was an unexpected favorite--simply sensational. Grappa can sometimes be overpowering, but this one was smooth, refined, and packed with rich grape flavors, making it one of the best versions I've tried. Taking a Piece of Finger Lakes Distilling Home While every single pour was impressive, the one that stood out the most for me was the Straight Bourbon--so much so that I had to bring a bottle home. It reminded me of a classic Rye Whiskey, with just enough spice to keep things interesting but smooth enough to sip neat. Final Thoughts Finger Lakes Distilling far exceeded expectations, and I can't believe it took us this long to visit! With their commitment to quality, incredible range of spirits, and inviting tasting experience, this is a must-visit for anyone exploring the Finger Lakes region--whether you're a bourbon lover, rye enthusiast, or just appreciate finely crafted spirits. It was the perfect stop to break up a day of wineries and breweries, offering something distinctly different yet equally enjoyable. Next time, I'd love to stay a little longer, maybe sip on a whiskey cocktail and take in the atmosphere even more. Cheers to great whiskey and new discoveries!

So we arrived on a Saturday because the place online stated that it was closed during the week. My wife got a mixed drink but me I sampled the different whiskeys from mushroom infused, Rye, Bourbon and other items. Let me tell you I never expected it would be as good as it was. I was truly impressed with what they had on the shelves. I enjoyed a glass of Rye whiskey neat and came home with a bottle of the bourbon and the Rye. They both were exceptional. What is nice is that they offer it in 375 and 750 ml. Which is nice when places do this it's nice in case you're not certain if you want to purchase the more expensive bottle. Mushroom Spirits Distillery is living proof that you should never judge a book by its cover. Tucked away in a modest space, this distillery may seem unassuming from the outside, but inside lies a treasure trove of exceptional spirits waiting to be discovered. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the cozy intimacy of the distillery. While the space may be small, it only adds to the charm and character of the experience. However, I would recommend spacing out your visit, as the limited seating area can quickly become crowded, especially during peak times. During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling the distillery's offerings, and I was blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of their spirits. Despite the small size of the establishment, the selection was impressive, with each drink offering a unique and unforgettable flavor experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, with only a single person serving us, I was impressed by the dedication and professionalism of the staff. Despite being busy attending to all of us, our server remained attentive and accommodating, ensuring that each guest received the attention they deserved. It's clear that Mushroom Spirits Distillery is a labor of love, with a commitment to excellence that shines through in every aspect of the experience. From the quality of the spirits to the warmth of the service, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to ensure a memorable visit. In conclusion, Mushroom Spirits Distillery is a true hidden gem that deserves to be explored and appreciated. Don't let its modest exterior fool you - inside, you'll find an extraordinary experience waiting to be savored. Whether you're a seasoned spirits enthusiast or simply looking for a unique outing, I highly recommend paying a visit to Mushroom Spirits Distillery. You won't be disappointed.
