They talked me into purchasing an oil change/tire rotation package for $233 for 3 oil changes and 3 tire rotations. I didn't want to use the purchased package yet (because of the promotional price). So I left my truck at my appointment time and went to lunch. Came back a couple hours later and it wasn't ready. One hour later I went to check and the truck had in fact been sitting ready. I went to pay and they only charged me for the oil change. Asked about the rotation and they didn't do it. I was so upset I asked for a refund of my $233. It's been a back and forth (mainly me communicating because Glory Hernandez doesn't bother to respond. When she did she said my refund would be issued in two weeks. It's been since February. Now the end of April and I still don't have my refund and she still has not responded to my two emails. To make matters worse, none of the major work they allegedly performed was reported to the Carfax, only basic maintenance like oil changes and light bulbs. Buyer beware. I live nearly three hours away and made that very clear before my visit. Kien explicitly assured me that the truck I was interested in would be out front and ready when I arrived so I could view it and potentially drive it home. Based on that promise, I committed to the long drive. After arriving following a three-hour trip, I discovered the truck was not on the lot at all. It was in the service department, up on a lift. If you plan on buying a new car here... BEWARE. The price is NOT what is stated. Not even what is stated online at Toyota.com. I wanted to put a deposit on a new car, but asked for an email stating that #1 my deposit is refundable (in case they try to pull something shady), #2, I didn't want any non Toyota extra dealer markups (catalytic converter vin etching, tinting, list goes on) basically adding up to 3700$ extra. First they said deposit was non refundable, then said it was refundable after I questioned it. Then said they could not, not charge for the extra dealership add ons. When a sales guy said we could opt out of the add ons. I pleaded my case that they are misleading, and Toyota online gave me a price out the door. So why are they adding extra. Basically came down to, if you don't buy extras, some idiot will. So, I will not be that person out of pure principle. Shady shady shady to get people interested. Also, the car was about 2 months out from delivery. I mentioned, had I not asked the right questions, I would've waited 2 months for a car, only to get the "extra add on costs"given to me. Toyota had an amazing national ad about leasing new cars. I had been looking everywhere online to find a 2024 bZ4X XLE Electric Vehicle. Madera Toyota had one. I called the salesperson, John Lancaster answered the phone. Through phone conversation, text, and internet, we made a very good deal. What made John's customer service so amazing was his listening skills. I asked questions. He answered them or consulted with others to find the right answer. Signed the initial papers online. Then, John drove from Madera to Los Banos to sign the DMV paperwork. So, I never spent one minute at the dealership. We just have to figure out a delivery date, and I'll be in my new car. I've been buying vehicles from Madera Toyotas for over 10 plus years. I've referred many, many friends, co workers and family members who had purchased their vehicles from there as well. I acquired about a new Sienna minivan back in November from Angelica for myself. I also mentioned to her to find 2 more Siennas for my two brothers who are also looking for new Sienna minivans as well. I mentioned to her and her partner Isabell that I don't need and I will not pay for their added "Optional Non-Toyota products" that will add around another $2500. Isabell said, "ok" so I signed their "commitment form" to purchase the Sienna. We waited for almost three months and finally got confirmation that she'd found one for us. So my wife and I drove up to Madera to put a $500 deposit on it. A week goes by and I got a call from Angelica that our van was being built and we needed to go back to Madera to sign paperwork and get pre-approve. We drove back to Madera after waiting for almost three months by now. We got there and Angelica wasn't there so Isabell helped us. She asked how much we'll be putting down and I told her I'll put down $30k and finance the rest through EECU. She brought out their form that we signed a few months back with the dealer add ons still on it and I told Isabell that I don't want it and I will not pay for it like I've mentioned to her a few months back. She said she'll talk to her manager and see what he can do. She came back and said we have to pay for it. I told her I wasn't going to pay for it so she went back to her manager. It's funny, before writing this review I see others with the same bad experience. We contacted Toyota Madera after seeing a car online. After setting up an appointment to come in from out of town, they would NOT sell it to us at the listed price but kept insisting we had to buy the add ons, which we did not want. I was under the understanding that that is the price they had to sell it at and have known others to file DMV complaints over false advertisement, but they seemed to not care. After we drove away, they called 20 minutes later and said come back, "we will sell it to you at that listed price without the add ons". We drive back, during rush hour excited we had a deal! After waiting, signing paperwork and waiting again, a different manager approached us stating "we don't sell cars without mark ups". I was very confused with the statement and I'm sure he noticed the big question mark come over our faces, but we were welcome to come back when the car came into the lot and pay the mark up price. He was blunt, rude, deceiving and we were extremely confused! Not only did they waist our time, but confirmed the distrust in car sales people. After a long and tired search for the right Toyota I decided to go to Madera Toyota just to see what they had in stock. I pulled up and the Vibe was really different. There was a sales man standing outside on the lot ready to assist. He introduced himself as Misiel and asked what we were looking for. We told him and he walked us around the lot. Although it was pretty late and they were about to close he did not rush us through anything and he was very laid-back and talked us through the whole purchasing process. We took a test drive, he showed us the best priced car, and he never pressured us. I truly believe that this is what made the difference from Madera and other car lots that I had been to. I shopped the full state of California Online for a car. I drove from Fresno toyota to Handford toyota and Huntington Beach but this one was the one for us. The lot had an amazing price and the finance person on the first night when we were just looking was Rob he was kind. The next day our sales man called us back and was able to work out an amazing low monthly payment and a decent interest-rate. Jason also assisted us with financing on this day he was straight forward and personable . We walked off the lot with a 2021 Toyota! Not what we expected but better! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!! This is a shady group of people. Not only was our "Representative", Jerod, useless. They practically refuse to let you speak to management. Jerod told us that our warranty covered a brand new transmission, we just had to drive 1,000 miles and wait 45 days. So of course we did just that. Then we bring it back, receive NO communication from him for days and finally he gets back to us, "the warranty won't cover, it's a pre-existing condition". Throughout the weeks they had my vehicle they communicate little to nothing with us. At this point I did not trust them to have or work on my vehicle and we had to just show up to pick it up because we cannot get in contact with anyone and again we are denied access to a management and no one answers their phones or calls back. They forced us to pay $1694 to release the car. So we pay in protest and what do you know? Car is sitting in the service lot with a tag do not start because the transmission pan was left completely disassembled. They provide no rental, no communication and just plain bad business! The customer service portion of this place is horrible. They say they'll call to give updates on your car. We've received no information, unless we go in person. Calling didn't work, they give an excuse of "The supervisor/manager is on break right now", or "The supervisor isn't here today"... they said he'd be back by 3 but we still didn't get information. They've had our car for about 3 months now. It took our insurance company to try to get ahold of them to actually start working on the car and they were the ones to let us know what's going on with it. I received a call that my car was ready around 3 pm. I requested a pickup to the dealership. The lady on the phone said someone was en route to pick me up. I called around 5 pm to find out why I hadn't been picked up yet. Same lady said someone should have been en route. I lost faith in the dealership and decided to walk. It's about a mile away from my home. I got there around 5:20 PM. I needed the car the next day to take my daughters to school. When I got there, the ladies at the office played the blame game, didn't know who called me or set up the shuttle service. The lady at the reception asked why I didn't call sooner to follow up on the shuttle service. The manager said he would look into it and compensate for making me walk. I never received a call. Well I came here wasted my time and they low ball me under KBB and even didn't come up. What a big waste of time and this is why I should had trusted my gut and never came here. Wow! I don't even know where to begin. Madera Auto Center's slogan is "We'll Keep You Coming Back." After recently purchasing a 2018 Toyota 4Runner here, my family and I can confidently say that the staff at Madera truly live up to that slogan because of the experience that far exceeded our expectations. Our experience began last spring when I contacted Madera Toyota to inquire about a 4Runner TRD Pro. I was already impressed with the correspondence between Lisa Dodd and I because she was so polite, professional, and knowledgeable. She was such a pleasure to work with, and because of that we did not hesitate to work with the dealership despite being 130 miles away from them. When my family came back from our visit out of the country we were ready to buy a 4Runner, and when we contacted Lisa again she instantly responded and told us they had a car ready for us with an ETA the beginning of January. The unfortunate thing is that we never got to meet Lisa because she was on vacation, but I'm glad to say our positive experience was maintained when she referred us over to Direct Salesperson Houa Xiong, who was really personable, well-mannered, and just a great person to work with! He had the car ready for us as soon as we arrived, and he made the transition into the finance office seamless. Lupe Martinez, the finance manager, explained the options for extended warranties/service packages and offered us packages that were actually catered to our needs. On our way back home we were even thanked by Lisa even though she was on vacation. Madera Toyota was a breath of fresh air compared to other dealerships. They are a family-owned business, and one of the few dealerships that still understands that the core of their business is based on the relationship with the customers. They really put their customers first, which was evident by the way Lisa, Houa, Lupe and the rest of the staff treated us when we bought our 4Runner. Bunch of people that don't know how to do their job in a professional matter. Don't recommend going to this Toyota. Very quick to call the right phone numbers when it's time to sign papers and sell cars. But never received a call to pick up my car when it had just need sitting there in their lot. I called for a whole week as well as my brother and kept leaving us in the dark as well as giving us the wrong date of when it would be ready. Tried telling us they called but it was a "wrong" number that we gave them? Okay then they should've tried calling the numbers that we gave when we had first created an account with them the first day we put a deposit down. Also I had called to speak to a manager and was told I'd get a call back in the next two days which I never did. Even the manager had my number wrong? Don't think so. After neither of us getting a call back we showed up in person. The employees were so unprofessional. After seeing us clearly upset everyone sarcastically said "hey!!! Your cars ready yay" and started clapping like they knew I've been trying to get information on it and finally showed up. As I was trying to explain the issue the salesman that sold me the car just kept interrupting me and saying "okay your cars here were already pulling it up" didn't even apologize or care. Guess I'm not the only one with this problem since their other reviews say such similar things. They need to learn to communicate with their customers. It's not all about just selling cars. Do your job right and people will wanna come back. Made buying my first new car experience bad. As I was waiting for my car being pulled in I saw a salesman roll his eyes behind some customers looking at cars. Guess they're all like that there. I've never left a review anywhere but that was just ridiculous. In June I purchased a certified pre-owned 2015 Toyota Rav 4 from Madera Toyota for my parents. I also bought a brand new Toyota Rav 4 V6 from Madera Toyota in 2011. I always bring my car in for service even though I don't live in Madera. I brag on Madera Toyota all the time. I can't tell you how embarassed and disappointed I am with what happened to my dad when he took the Rav 4 in for his first free service. He put 2000 miles on in from June 2018 to November 2nd 2018, the date he took it in for service. They told him he needed new brakes at $400.00 and a cabin filter replacement at $50.00. How could the brakes need replacing on a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED vehicle in just 2000 miles? Do you sell cars without checking these things? Dad took it somewhere else to get brakes replaced but did, unfortunately, give you $50.00 for the filter. What a rip off you are. My dad will never go back and now I won't either. I will also tell everyone I know not to buy a Toyota from Madera Toyota. read more
