I called the salesperson, John Lancaster answered the phone. Through phone conversation, text, and internet, we made a very good deal. What made John's customer service so amazing was his listening skills. I asked questions. He answered them or consulted with others to find the right answer. Signed the initial papers online. Then, John drove from Madera to Los Banos to sign the DMV paperwork. So, I never spent one minute at the dealership. We just have to figure out a delivery date, and I'll be in my new car. I recommend Madera Toyota, and I would go there and ask for John Lancaster. His "can-do" work ethic will serve you well. Respectfully, Arthur J. Testani III

We came in a few weeks ago to buy a car. We knew ahead of…read moretime what we wanted and were calling around to different dealerships to find the best deal. Ultimately, we found the car we wanted here. After some back and forth over the phone we landed on a price and did the buying online and just needed to go in to actually pick up the vehicle. We told our salesperson ( Kien) when we expected to come and were in contact with him in our way( we live about 1.5 hrs away...and have a newborn so trip isn't the easiest to make). When we got there we saw our car out front. We went around inspecting it and found 3 small dings/ scratches. Car is brand new. We called the salespersons # several times and got no answer. After waiting around for a while by the car, we decided to go into the office. We saw several employees/ salespeople while we were waiting and no one acknowledged us. When we went into the office, we continued to wait. Finally, we were able to get a salespersons attention, and told him who we were looking for. He said "Let me go check where he is". Never saw that guy again. After waiting some more time( again, with a fussy newborn..) the sales manager finally came over and asked if we needed help. We explained the situation and he left to check on our salesperson and came back to tell us he wasn't there, but was on his way back. He said he could help us until them. This was the only employee that was helpful and I WISH I remembered his name..I felt like it started with an E but not sure. Sales Manager. We take him back out to the car and show him the little dents/ scratches. He said the car had been washed but he would send it over again, they possibly could have been dirt. He did this right away. While we were waiting we went back into the office. Overall, all the employees seemed annoyed we were there and uninterested in helping. We were facing the sales managers( Bryan) office and could see employee after employee going in and a group of about 5 sitting around and laughing and talking. We had a woman approach us saying we needed to sign a piece of paper. Didn't explain what it was. When we asked she seemed kind of annoyed. When we told her we wanted to wait until we heard back about the scratches- she was even more annoyed. The sales manager returned and had us take a look at the car. There was still 1 small scratch left. He said that they could order us a paint pen for free, but that was all they could do. Ok we agreed The sales manager walked us into the finance manager( Bryan) office and set us up with everything we needed to finish the process. Again, he was extremely helpful. Again, the finance manager just seemed annoyed and irritated by us being there( buying a car?). We reminded him about the paint pen and he put it into the paperwork- he didn't explain anything about it so I asked. When will this get ordered, when will we get it, is any additional info needed. He said they would order it tonight and would hear back soon. As we were finishing up the paperwork our salesman( Kien) returned and was very apologetic for not being there. Fast forward to this week we still hadn't received any info about the paint pen. We call to inquire if it's on its way. Went through every department( sales, parts, service, finance) and every person passed us off to someone else. We were told we'd receive a call back and never did. We finally went to our local Toyota and bought the pen out of our own pocket. It is definitely frustrating because it was promised to us, and even MORE frustrating because no one could give us an answer. My suspicion? I don't even think the order was ever put it. I feel like as soon as well left they probably just put the paperwork away and didn't care anymore about it. They wanted to leave and go home(mind you, we in no way were there at closing time) If the process was this time consuming and frustrating( we were there for about 2 hours) after we had ALREADY BOUGHT THE CAR--I cannot imagine going in and doing it all in person. Would I return to this Toyota in the future? No. Would I recommend it to others, no.

When I reached out online Kevin responded right away and we set up a next day test drive of the vehicle. When I arrived Kevin greeted me, her was very polite, he showed me to the truck answered any questions, retrieved the keys and left me with the vehicle to inspect it at my leisure. After a short inspection I asked him if I could test drive the vehicle and he took a copy of my license and let me take the truck. During the test drive I did a hard acceleration and noticed a sputter with some significant power loss and the check engine light flashed on- it was a misfire. I drove back and let Kevin know what happened and that unfortunately I wasn't interested. He was very apologetic and asked me to wait before leaving and hooked up his scanner to see what was wrong and it was a misfire. He changed it the spark plug from the misfiring cylinder and we went on another test drive and the issue was gone. I liked the truck and the scanner didn't show any other problems so I decided to buy it. Kevin informed me that if the problem came back even though he was selling me a used car as is he would fix it or he would take the car back which from a smaller dealership I've NEVER heard before. We finalize the deal do the paper work and I drive off. During my two and a half hour drive back it happened again so I texted Kevin and let him know, long story short hex was polite and professional and honored his promise. I got the truck home and within the next few days I decided to use my scan tool to see what the issue was and it showed a misfire in the number two and four cylinders so I changed the spark plugs in all of them which I usually do anytime I buy a used vehicle anyway and all codes cleared the truck has been running great now for about a month. I called Kevin to let him know and he was happy it worked it and offered to pay for the repair which I declined. Kevin is a stand up guy, and if I find itself in need of another used car I'll gladly do business with him again. Here's one thing people need to consider though when buying a used car, especially from a small dealer. These vehicles are used they're not certified pre-owned they're usually inspected to make sure they're legal to be put on the road and minor repairs are done. You're delaying with a small business that's trying to make money and most of them aren't going to spend extra money to make sure every major repair is completed because their customer base cannot afford or do not have the credit worthiness to buy those types of vehicles. I could've gone to a certified dealer but I found this specific truck and honestly I expected more issues than what I've had so far. Bottom line I usually don't trust used car dealers but Kevin showed here would make things right during and after the sale. I can't recommend him enough!
