La Revolución Burrito with hot sauces
    Jonathan W.

This place could almost be considered two businesses since they have a store in the back, selling all sorts of salsas, guacamoles, bean dips, tortillas, pre-cooked meats and many others. In fact, I've been buying their products for a couple years now at the Brampton Farmer's Market and Longos. If this review were for the products alone, I'd maybe lean to a '5'. The spicy bean dip in particular is my favourite. My dine in visit the other day was my first time I made it to this location. From looking at the menu, they're a bit pricier than some other comparable places. With that said, this place also has a bit more ambience than other places too. I went with 'La Revolución' burrito. A meat lovers dream as its filled with beef brisket and chorizo - along with refried beans, avocado and cheese. It came with a small side salad and was nearly $20. The meat quality however really went a long way in justifying the price. The beef was delicious, as was the chorizo. It was also the deep-red savoury chorizo which is my favourite. Just note that it does add a bit of grease to it. I like how the burrito also seemed to be pan-fried as well, giving great texture and more savoury taste. My friend with with a couple chicken tinga tacos as was really happy with the meat quality and prep too. It looks from other reviews that people didn't necessarily have the same quality experience I did - but from what I had, I would fully recommend and return too.

A nice local restaurant for mexican food in the area. The cocktails are excellent as the flavours and alcohol were well balanced. Although the food is a bit on the pricier side, the food was overall delicious. I recommend the shrimp tacos as it had good textures and ingredients layered in.

We can't escape Toronto to soak up the Mexican sun, so why not bring the authentic flavours of Mexican cuisine to your home? Mad Mexican, an adored west-end restaurant at Jane and Annette, is offering their full menu for takeout and delivery (UberEats, DoorDash and Foodora). The menu has 11 varieties of authentic tacos to choose from (including pollo tinga and barbacoa de borrego) as well as irresistible tortillas that you can dunk into pico de gallo and chunky guac, to name a few. The tacos get a little soggy if they're traveling for extended periods of time via a takeout app, so pickup is recommended if you can swing it. If you're looking to add some spice to lockdown life, consider bringing the fiesta to you...and don't forget the margaritas!

Me and my girlfriend were craving some Tacos so came here. For the cost, I think there are better places out there. $5+ a taco is pretty high, and they do not have any specials. (-1 star for price) Food (3.5 stars): We ordered: Chicken Tinga (3 stars) - My girlfriend loved it. I thought it was missing some crunchiness. It was very flavorful, but not your typical taco. It was almost dripping out. Ensenada Style (4 stars) - We chose the white fish. It was delicious, but a bit smaller than expected. It had a great balance of flavors and texture: cold and warm, crunchy and soft, spicy and mild. For desert we decided to get Churros (4 stars). There were options for having them stuffed, or having the dipping sauce on the side, we chose sauce on the side. These were tasty and very fluffy. Service: Friendly service, got water refilled multiple times. Ambiance: Very specious space, high ceilings. Extra info: street parking (might not be available during rush hours) credit cards are accepted

My go to place for amazon nachos. We always get the nachos from here and drinks. We tried another dish recently as well, can't recall the name but it was a stuffed bell pepper on a bed of rice with roasted veggies on the side and black beans. It was delicious. The customer service is always friendly, sometimes there is a long wait time so I recommend reservations. Also it important to confirm the order with the servers as sometimes there can be language barrier. This is my usual spot for nachos!

Had a multiple dishes to share during late lunch. There was only one server and the restaurant was half full, so service was very slow. We watched our food on the counter getting cold while the only server taking payment at the cash register and attend other tables. The melted cheese dish (Queso Fundido) came already hardened when it arrived on our table. They gladly took it back and reheated though. But overall food quality was so so. We had sirloin steak on all 3 dishes. The one in Taco was very chewy. The one came in La Revolution was good. I will probably try a different mexican restaurant next time.

Service was excellent! We shared their guacamole- definitely a must. Tortilla soup was flavourful, it had big chucks of pulled chicken and I'd order again. The carnita sandwich was amazing! The bun was so soft and was in a sauce, unlike any sandwich I've ever had before. The tacos were actually the most disappointing, we tried the fish, chicken and pork - none of them were overly exciting. We would NOT come here for tacos again.

This place was easy to get to and the market was fully stocked. I ended up grabbing three tacos to go; carnitas, pollo pibil and the fish. Hands down fish taco was the best. Awesome crunch, the slaw was very tasty and overall just an awesome taco. Second was carnitas, I'd say my least favourite of the three only because it was a little dry. I added tomatillo sauce but I think I would have faired better with a spicy sauce. Still tasty and all three tacos had LARGE portion of meat. Last was pollo pibil which was moist and quite flavourful. Solid second place taco All were served on their blue corn tortilla which was nice and chewy but not dense. All around solid place. I'm definitely coming back for fish and I'd like to try the steak taco. Tacos are between 7-9 bucks each or a trio deal Definitely check them out if you're in the area !

The food was impeccable and very authentic! If I could give them more stars I would! The restaurant was nice and pretty busy. We made reservations and were seated by the window. The service was excellent! Took about 5min for our waitress to take our drink order. I ordered a Mexican Bulldog (new favourite drink) and my husband ordered a steam whistle. The Bulldog is a Margarita with a cute little Corona bottle tipped upside down. I highly recommend it. We ordered an appetizer of guacamole and chips! It was really good and a perfect amount. For dinner we went with the fish, shrimp, and steak tacos. Food came about 10min after our drinks and appetizers. The food was sooooo good. If I had to choose the best tasting taco, I would go with the steak. Just take my word for it and try them. The portions were perfect! We came in hungry and left full. This place is gold!

About $15 worth of tacos...This was not the kids meal!

I've had the luxury of eating tacos from the finest restaurants, food trucks and family restaurants in California so when it comes to Mexican food, I've got a bit of a chip on my shoulder. I came to Mad Mexican with a bunch of co-workers for lunch and although we were a table of around 12 people, the staff seemed unprepared for a table that large. Our food took forever to come out and even taking orders was an ordeal. I got the 2 taco combo and ordered a shrimp and fish taco, and what I got was a chicken and fish taco. Too hungry to bother to complain, I scarfed down my lunch and proceesed to listen to my stomach grumble the rest of the time. For $13-15 I got 2 tacos which were so small and full of more lettuce than meat, they would barely make an infant full. Also you can get about the same amount of food in LA for about $3... Needless to say the food was pricey not very good and the staff took forever to sort out our orders and bills. I won't be coming back that's for sure. Seven lives in Toronto puts this place to shame!

Parking was a challenge, but there is a Green P that is about 5-8 minutes away that isn't too bad if the weather is good. The atmosphere is quite intimate and I did find myself bumping into other people / staff when going to and from the washroom, etc. The food was pretty good - the tacos were full of flavour and I got to try a variety by sharing with the group. I think my favourite was the beef barbacoa. The prices are definitely a bit up there for a Mexican restaurant, I believe the tacos were around $7 each. The quality made it worth it, but there's definitely other places in Toronto that serve up a great taco for nearly half the price. We also tried a couple of appetizers, including the nachos, guac and ceviche. The nachos were something special - it was a bit of a nacho pizza. I didn't expect that from Playa Cabana, given everything else was very authentic. The taste was good, but it was a bit of a challenge to share! The highlight of the night was definitely the desserts - we ordered the tres leches cake, and the churros. Definitely the best churro I've ever had.

We got lucky and they were able to squeeze us into seats at the bar area, which ended up being the best possible spot because we had a front-row view of the live fire cooking the entire night. The ambiance was lively and hip, with a great energy that made the whole experience feel exciting. This was my first time watching each main courses get cooked over live fire in real time, which added to our amazement given that all the dishes came out cooked to the right doneness. Every bite of meat and seafood was perfectly kissed with flame -- the char, the subtle smoke, the texture. Beyond the fire element, you can really taste how fresh everything is. Nothing felt heavy or muddled. Each dish was well thought out with balanced flavors, but the ingredients and that fire/smoke magic were always the main event. Service was also superb. All the staff were attentive and high-energy. Different servers checked up on us throughout the meal, our water was always kept full, and dishes were cleared in a timely manner. Only drawback: the heat. Sitting by the fire is incredible for the show, but it definitely started to feel like a sauna at times. Still, I'd do it again and choose to sit at the bar without hesitation. If you're in Toronto and you love a tasting menu, this is a must. Their tacos are on point, and with so many to choose from I can go back multiple times can never get bored. Each of their tacos has something different to offer and each has relatively good balance to them. The balance of freshness and savory (and sometimes sweet) toppings is well done, making me come back for more. The one item that pushes La Carnita over the top is their nachos! Homemade nacho chips with gooey cheese and a generous amount of toppings makes them my favorite nachos in Toronto! One last observation is that the service is always friendly. Hacienda is located on College Street, very close to Sneaky Dees, in a bit of a tucked away, inconspicuous location. The interior is fantastic and the atmosphere is authentic. There are a lot of reviews that knock this place for service, but that's not really the point of this restaurant. It's a family run place where the focus is food and soccer (when it's on) if you need something, you may need to call the serve over yourself, but that's no big deal cocerning the food. The tacos are the best I've had in the City. At three tacos for $12, it's hard to go wrong. After reading some of the previous reviews, the beef tongue was an obvious choice. I'm not too big in beef personallty, but the meat was so tender and almost melted. Next was the chorizo taco. It was fantastic. The chorizo wasn't overly salty like in a lot of other Mexican restaurants, which made a huge difference. The flavor was deep and rich, and paired perfectly with the salsa. Lastly was the carnitas. It's hard to make carnitas as good as Seven Lives, but wow, these were something else. The carnitas were tender, juicy, and perfectly crispy. The corn tortillas were also made in-house and were fresh and delocious. The servers also bring two sauces to the table - one salsa verde (green salsa) and one hot sauce. Both were great but be careful with the hot sauce, it's a heavy hitter! Pro tip: get a Mexican Coke, it's amazing! Hacienda is the best taco place is the City. Seven Lives is a close second, but Hacienda has them beat in terms of authenticity and flavor. Put this place on your go-to list, it will it dissapoint. 5/5
