Lovely stop for drinks after work. Only downside is that happy hour runs from 2:30-4:30 so come early if you can sneak out of the office. This wasn't the case for me and my friend so we paid full price for some of the best margaritas and tacos ever I've had in years. We tried the milagro, clasica and plata margaritas and had hi praise for all of them. My personal favorite is the milargo which is a slightly spicy take on the classic margarita. Service was impeccable. Our drinks came out quickly but we also ordered the guacamole and a series of tacos: pork belly (Al pastor) of course, battered cod (Perla) and the ribeye steak (capital). All came well seasoned with generous portions of meat. There are a few vegetarian options available but we were in the mood for meat. Each taco order comes with 2 so it was quite filling. There are other offerings typical of a Mexican restaurant but we honestly didn't have the space after indulging in our tacos and guacamole and chips. This spot of easy to get to with public transit on line 1 and is in the heart of the entertainment district. I love the authentic Mexican feel of the place and it is now my go to for good Mexican food in downtown Toronto. read more

Great service from Diana but the food was lacking in flavour. The ambiance was nice as they were playing Spanish music the whole dinner. We started off the dinner with the queso fundido which was delicious melted Gouda cheese brought out in a hot skillet and served with flour tortillas. This was the highlight of the whole meal. For entrees, I had the Tacos Perla and was severely disappointed. The tacos didn't have any flavour so I had to ask for some hot sauce which they charged $2 for. The rice and refried beans were just okay. There wasn't any seasoning that stood out to me. My friend ordered the tacos rosarita and had to send it back. She didn't enjoy the shrimp and there seemingly was a lack of toppings on the taco. The barbacoa pachuca was the best out of the three entrees as the sauce on the lamb was flavourful with a slight kick to it. We ended off the dinner with their milk caramel crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was also a bit of a let down. As it is one of my favourite desserts, I expected more. I found the sugar on top to be too burnt and even the custard itself had an overly burnt taste to it. When we ordered tequila shots, they were brought out with this tomato juice and salsa mixture that was delicious and complimented the tequila nicely. Drink sizes were also a pleasant surprise as the margaritas (not pictured) come in huge bowl-like glasses. Our waitress, Diana was very attentive and friendly throughout the service. We were in the Toronto downtown area and were looking for a place to have dinner. Food was delicious. Everything that we ordered was amazing. We had a picky toddler who didn't like what he ordered. Got the Winterlicious menu at this Mexican place which goes beyond tacos. They're like a medium end place.  The tartare was good, though on the salty side. The shrimp quesadillas were great. The shrimp were huge, with a great sear. The rice & beans were above average. The rice pudding came in a cup (a reminder that Winterlicious is meant to be a taster of the normal experience). Milagro is one of my favourite places to go. The service is always great and the food is always yummy! Came here for a quick bite before going to see Aladdin. The restaurant was fairly busy but the service was quick. The food is always fresh and delicious. I ordered the Trio-Guacamole, refried beans and pico to start. They came out quickly and the tortilla chips were still hot! So good! I order the Chicken Tinga Toastado for my main because I love them and always get them. And I was not disappointed. I think this may be the best Mexican restaurant in the GTA. The Trio with guacamole, refritos, and pickled onions was excellent with the best Refritos I've had. We found the amount of guacamole in the Trio was a bit small though. The pulled pork w fried plantains was fantastic. The Ceviche was also a large portion and very tasty. Service was very enthusiastic and helpful, but our server did forget to bring our salsa- I had to ask a second time for it. The homemade salsa that we chose was also very tasty. Pleasantly surprised by the great experience at Milagro given the low ratings from others. We went prior to a blue jays game as it's a close walk and the service was very quick. Nice open windows and colourful decor made for a fun date night spot. The classic margarita was a fun drink, ceviche was fresh and the alambre was super flavourful and came with tortilla on the side. The only complaint I had were the churros sadly which I was the most excited about. It was doused with too much sugar and tasted a tad burnt which lost its fresh chewy texture. read more

We (2) had an early-ish dinner at Milagro's before heading to a show. We made reservations and were seated right away. We started with wine for me and a Mango Mule for my partner. Both were very good. We decided to split some meals and had the AGUACHILE shrimp crudo, and grilled vegetable enchilada. Both were fantastic. I'm normally a huge fan for Mexican food but this place was extremely disappointing. To start the server was great with introducing us to items on the menu she recommended but there were moments when decided on the apps when we felt she was being pushy in upselling us a larger dish. All the items here are also very expensive, avg $19+ for a drink or meal. The best part of the night were the drinks, we got the margarita Oaxaqueña and Milagro(spicy), both delicious and you can taste the tequila which is always a win. Moving on to the enchiladas, I got the panela cheese filled, whereas my friend got the chicken ($18) with the Rojas sauce. This was the saddest dish I've ever had, the Rojas sauce just tasted like tomato sauce, no flavor, the enchiladas were the size of my palm. If we didn't order the app this dish wouldn't have been enough. The meal also came warm as if it had been sitting for a while. The dish came with beans and rice on the side and normally I love the Mexican rice but I didn't even touch it-again this just tasted like it was cooked in tomato sauce. As a restaurant located downtown Toronto I was expecting more with it being a little more upscale but this was disappointing. Bill ended up being arond $100 and I felt ripped off. The Mexican interior decoration is on point! Loved the murals, the curved ceilings, and rustic elements like the candles. The food selection is great and there are daily specials for drinks/food too. Milagro is an upscale Mexican restaurant that feels authentic and provides a more polished dining experience. We came on a weekday and just caught the happy hour. We both ordered the classic Margarita, which was a good size for happy hour but a bit small at regular pricing. We shared some tacos which were okay but the star of the meal was the Torta De Milanesa. The chicken was delicious and all the toppings were absolutely bursting with favour. Had dinner here on a Thursday night before a show. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly host who led us to our table. The lighting is a little dim but added to the ambience. We ordered the Thursday special which was a giant braised ham hock with mini tortillas and a nice green salsa. While the ham hock was tender, flavourful and is large enough to feed 3 instead of the advertised 2, I was disappointed that it did not come with a few more accompaniments given the cost was almost $60. It did come with a few roasted potatoes but I would have expected at least another side or a few more salsas. (The green salsa portion was pretty small and not enough for the amount of meat you get.) The service was warm and inviting, but I didn't quite appreciate the 4 times they came over to ask if we were finished. We clearly were not finished. Our plates were still full, the ham hock was still being worked on, and at one point I was just putting a forkful of food in my mouth when I was asked if we were done. We were not quite there for even 45 minutes when the too-frequent check-ins started. There were still plenty of tables so it couldn't have been the reason they wanted us to be done with our meal so soon. Overall, the food was delicious albeit a little pricy for what we had that evening. The service was great until we were rushed multiple times. I might go back to try the regular items on the menu, but I will not return again if I am given the impression that they are waiting to clear my table before I am there for even an hour and the restaurant is only half full. read more

Another April adventure led us to this authentic Mexican taco spot. What I ordered: 1. Tostadas Doña Flora 2. Tostadas Con Salsa What She Ordered: 1. Tacos Adobados 2. Churros Con Cajeta We started the night off with the tostadas and salsa. The service was quick to bring it out and it tied us over for the main courses. It was nice to have vegan and gluten free choices. The pan is used to heat both flour and corn tortillas, so there is cross contamination if you're sensitive. Guacamole was good, refritos standard and the pico was oily. The enchilada had fried peppers, onion and mushroom inside and was topped with chopped onion. It was ok, but not bursting with freshness or flavour. Fresh cilantro would've been nice. I would've liked more info on the Just Eats menu so I didn't end up with 2 orders of refritos. Ambiance here was great. Love the candlelight and the rustic tables. Their menu had quite a bit to choose from. It was a pretty descent Mexican food, and from what I remember, Milgaro puts a lot of emphasis with presentation with all their dishes.
