Amazing wedding cake!! Gorgeous and exactly what we wanted! And sooooo moist and delicious wedding almond flavor! People were saying it's the best wedding cake they've ever had!

They make cakes that are whimsical and original!

I am planning my wedding and my experience taste testing Mad Batter's cakes was like a dream!!! From the variety of cakes, fillings and frostings -- all homemade. The red velvet cake as a true-to-form Southern recipe and the lemon curd...I could have eaten that with a spoon. I am looking forward to my wedding day, now more than ever, because my cake will be absolutely PERFECT!

mold

If I can give zero stars I would. They give moldy cakes out and the inside of the building is COVERED in mold!!! They treat their employees like dogs and underpays them, short their pay however she wants because she pays them under the table!!! forces them to work in disgusting work conditions. The mold was recently brought up to the health department and she simply PAINTED OVER THE BLACK MOLD AGAIN. The owner and her daughter are the rudest people I've ever met! They are just as bad as Walmart they use frozen cakes from months and months ago. This place needs to be shut down please nobody EVER go here! I got these pics from a Facebook post from a former employee... pics dont lie!! Never ever go here!

The cashier claimed they had never messaged me. This is their email. ??

I never post bad reviews, but I can't not share my experience with this business. We booked a cake tasting through the company email - Annie Gros was our point of contact. We took off of work and drove an hour and a half from Gonzales for our appointment time. Upon arriving, they said that Annie was not there that day and they were not set up for us, could we come another day. Incredibly unprofessional. This is not the kind of place I would even consider booking my wedding cake with. One word to describe this business - ghetto. Avoid at all costs. Doesn't even smell like a bakery.

Vanilla bean cupcake, smashed by the packaging, but great

Update Alert: Ok, so I returned to try the king cake, and yes it was delicious. I would probably place this cake on my top ten list for king cakes. It was fresh, soft, and fluffy. It was sweet, and would go well with coffee, or milk. I also tried the Russian cake, and vanilla bean cupcake. The cupcake was the best tasting cupcake I've ever eaten. It was stuffed with some kind of cream, that was pretty lovely. And the icing...oh the icing was soooooo good. The Russian cake. Hmmmm. So I've never eaten Russian cake, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to taste. But I can say that it tasted like toothpaste, all of it, especially the icing. Not my thing, but to each his own.

Let's just start with me reading several negative reviews on this quaint little place. I've read how much expectations people had from them and they are let done. However, I didn't get their same results. In fact, I've got more what I've expected. Furthermore, Mad Batter Bakery was not my original choice for bakery for my Wife's birthday cake but they stepped up and gave me a wonderful cake. I appreciate their hard work and short notice (24hours) to complete the cake. The front associate was friendly and eager to assist me with my cake ideas. What's even more surprising was I've got a friendly message from the owner to see how myself and my Wife enjoyed their creation, too. I will do business with Mad Batter Bakery in the future. Thank you for helping out with a beautiful / tasty cake and in a short time frame, also. Keep up the great work and customer service.

I ordered my own props but theres no way my should have looked like this

I ordered a birthday cake. The girl wrote the wrong date I don't know how she could 20th when I said 29th those numbers sound nothing a like and I specifically said the sunday after thanksgivings. First I was told I would have to pick the cake up Saturday then I was told friday. It was too late to order from someone else so I was like ok. They called me on the 20th saying my order was ready and I told I wanted my cake for the 29th but my pick up date is friday because I was told after I placed my order the place will be closed saturday too. When I picked up my cake on the 28th it looked rush and not worth the cash money I paid for it. When I tasted the cake it didn't taste like a day old it tasted like a cake that was almost a week old. The writing on the cake look like my 5 year old nephew had wrote on it. I will post what I should them and what I got.

This Bakery is so nice and colorful, i couldn't believe they had King Cake Petits Fours (sample)very Delicious I definitely needed Cup Coffee..after looking at all the different sweets I left with King Cake & Cheesecake but i have to say thanks to Rhiannon she was very nice and helpful !!!!!

This is the retirement cake I ordered. You can't even read the word retirement. If I had done it this is how it would look.

Ordered a retirement cake for an employee. It was the ugliest cake I have ever seen. The writing on the top looks like a kid did it or maybe me. So much empty space and the word retirement scrunched up to the border. You can't even read it. $50 wasted-I should have done it myself it would have looked better. Picture included.

This was the most disappointing cake I've had. Sorry to say, I will not return.

I was looking for cheesecake to give as a birthday present. I didn't want a whole cheesecake, and a…read moreslice just seems... Anyway, I was initially looking for cheesecake bites. But then I found Cheesecake Heidi and her $9 personal-size cheesecakes; perfect! She has a good variety of flavors and ordering online was easy enough. I was a kinda last minute order - ordered on Wednesday evening for a Friday afternoon pickup - so I followed up with her on Facebook. She was very friendly and confirmed all my information. I got the Death By Chocolate flavor, which my mother - the birthday girl - said was good. It had chocolate crust, chocolate custard, and a chocolate coating; perfect for a chocolate lover. The store itself is located in a building/strip mall next to Penny's Cafe. Cash, card, and Venmo accepted.

The people working the table were nice. I enjoyed the flavor and thought it was pretty good. I let my aunt taste it and she felt like it tasted like cookies and cream ice cream and not necessarily like cheese cake. I think she felt this way because it seems like it could've had more of a cream cheese taste. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it.

Excellent cake! Get…read morea cupcake. My wife ordered a wedding cake cupcake and it was so good. It has an almond flavor that is just killer it made the whole experience. Super moist and delicious. We also ordered a boudin kolache that was good but the dough was just a bit sweet for me. My son would have loved it. It also could have used a touch more sausage. Some bites were just dough. We did find a pleasant surprise sour sop juice! So tasty. The interior and exterior fit the Bywater perfectly such a quaint friendly place. Small but we had no problem finding a seat and there are a few tables outside to sit at if ya wanna. The folks behind the counter were super friendly and they had one of the best t shirts i have seen in a while. They didn't have my size though, maybe next time. Overall a bit of a walk for us but definitely on our places to visit regularly.

I dont like cakes refrigerated cause I feel like it dries it out more... try it out for yourself. I give all the star cause last time I came i had a boudin roll. It wasn't called roll but it was good. Soft yeast roll time with filling boudin, cheese amd something else. Best thing ive had from there. If there was more filling it would be perfect. The roll to filling ratio was off. It was mostly bread. Staff is always great. Respectful amd nice whenever I visit. Parking is street parking. I've never been when its busy so always able to get a spot.
