I really love this Macy's! Everything I need to look cute & girly is located here. They have so many great sales. I usually pay through the roof at a Free People boutique in Bridgeport. Just noticed Macy's has a super nice Free People section with some of my other favorite designers, but I love their periodic sales on pricier brands ( Free People, Inc, Calvin Klein, Lucky Brand). A little confusion with a return today that took a few extra minutes, but people are human and my sales girl was so sweet it was impossible to leave without a smile. Plus I scored a great pair of sale priced summer denim shorts :-) Covered parking right next to this Macy's was well planned, too. Great place for a girl to shop! read more

Amanda at the Lancôme counter is the best makeup artist that's helped me. She always does such a great job showing me how to use a new product, and I always leave there feeling beautiful. Plus she's is so friendly and always has a beautiful smile on her face. read more

Macy's does its best to get my business with discounts/coupons and sales. The quality of the product is very variable. Lots of the clothes are just 'cheap' looking. But some are good quality, it depends on the brand. I have bought luggage here, and kitchen appliances, and they were a good value. Linens are either very expensive or very cheap. read more

The Washington Sq Macys is my favorite Macys in Portland even though I live within walking distance of the downtown store and a quick Max ride from the Lloyd Center store. I once read that it was an "A" store so it has some brands the other Macys don't. I like the selection at this store and the service is usually good as well. The store is well merchandised and not overly cluttered. I like the upscale feel of the store too. I usually find what i'm looking for and I usually find great sale prices as well. The only thing I don't like is that they moved the furniture department to a separate building a few blocks away. read more

I had a really bad experience with their online experience. My order was canceled 3 Times. Before the third time it got canceled with no explanation the guy sent it through for me and set it up with premium shipping. Then it was canceled again with again no explanation. The lady wouldn't explain to me why it got canceled and had no clue. She also now wouldn't give me that premium shipping like the other guy did and said she couldn't do that and charged me anyways for the premium shipping. I used to love shopping at Macy's but not after this experience. I wish there would have been more explanation and help from them. Very disappointed. read more

Macy's are always just WEIRD. Actually I find most department stores to be weird in general. Like dinosaurs trying to cling on to a forgotten era of commerce. No matter how many hip friends are hanging out in your grandma's living room, it still looks like your grandma's living room. That sort of thing. This place is no different really than any other Macy's I can think of. The employees are all over you before you even known what you are trying to find, and nowhere to be found when you want to purchase something. I am happy that I got a couple of really good deals here, but I am also annoyed that the items on sale were not marked as such. read more

I am not a frequent shopper at Macy's, but I received a gift card as a Christmas gift I decided to give it another chance and I am glad I did! The service was excellent and our checker was patient as I fumbled with my cards and coupons. It was late on Thursday near closing and all the attendants were still smiling and polite. My only complaint is the prices, for the type of clothing they sell the prices should be about 20% lower then they are. I would definitely suggest going to Macy's for underwear, formal wear and shoe's during sales in particular. Always check for coupons online, because even if there are no sales you can usually get about 15% off and the checkers will help you find the best deal. read more

ASSOCIATE #10118888 YOU ARE HELLA RUDE. I came here today 9/22/17 around 1 pm. There was a 15% off cosmetics and what gal doesn't love a sale on high end products?!?!? Anywhoo, there was a line of 3 people total forming and all I wanted was a mattifier primer $36 with the 15% was $30.60. I asked about the estee lauder gift with $35 purchase and she said I had to spend $35 after the 15% discount. So I said ok, I'll get a concealer and I swear this lady rolled her eyes and sighed when I asked if she could match me. She even sai, "ummm" so I had to pick my own color as she uselessly watched. I should have walked away right there. So I purchased $60 worth of stuff and ended up returning it because guess what? Online acknowledges the free gift with original price NOT after discount. The sweet lady that helped return the products said her coordinator makes them give the gift if $35 is spent after the discount. Ridiculous. Both the coordinator and that associate #10118888 need a customer service refresher. Honestly, I would have spent a lot more $$ had that first lady not been so appaling. I can even accept the coordinators policy but if I ask you to help me color match don't fucking roll your eyes and sigh. Even the Lancome lady with the accent looked unhappy to help customers. I want to express gratitude for service we got at this Macy's from Joan- a personal shopping assistant. My mom and I had been to ten clothing stores searching for a cocktail attire outfit for a 50th wedding anniversary. My mom was really struggling to find something she felt comfortable in and we had received little help in previous stores. Then we found Joan. She found my mom wandering the store (I was in the junior's department with my daughter) and offered help. She told me later that her job is to help people who look overwhelmed -for free. She took us to a private dressing room and brought us multiple outfits after listening to my mom's ideal outfit ideas. She was kind, patient, and spot on! My mom walked away with TWO outfits. Note that my mom is very picky! She did not try to push certain brands or expensive items on us. She let us know this is a free service and they want to encourage people to shop in the store. I usually like Macys and it makes me really sad to leave such a negative review for them because there have been so many helpful nice employees but today's experience made me never want to come back. My mom and I were browsing the store today and came across a dress (size 13 children's in black with gold sequins and a mesh top) that had mistakenly been labeled the wrong price. I understand that this is without a doubt a mistake but stores generally have to honor the ticketed price. We decided to get it for a relative of ours and went to go pay for it. I really wish I'd had the foresight to take a picture of the tag to post here but I'd expected them to at least be polite and not handle the situation so badly. The senior associate at the table was so condescending and not only belittled my mom but instantly tore off the tag and and refused to admit that it had been ticketed any price other than the full one. The younger associate just kind of looked caught in the middle and I felt really bad for her. I would have accepted an apology that they couldn't sell it and it would've been fine. But, when you go into a nice store, or any store, there's a degree of politeness that you can expect and that associate was so rude. I am undoubtedly not coming back to this location again. I've been a patron here for years and I've always purchased purses, jewelry, and clothes here and at the Tanasbourne location. From now on I'm sticking with the Tanasbourne location because I'd rather not shop at all than watch my mom get disrespected like that again. read more

Not only did she answer a cell phone call mid-sentence 2 minutes into a conversation I waited patiently to have, she then denied to do nothing for me. The problem at Macy's is that they want to be a high end store like nordstroms but their lack of associates willing to say hello how are you can I help you ? Really makes it a 3 star place. People they hire to check you out are more interested in selling you a creditcard than making sure they remove the security tags from your clothes. Had to make a return trip costing both time and money. Looking back I suspect the cashier did this in retaliation for not signing up for the store card. First off, I will say that the lady who helped me was great. However, I could tell that she was stretched too thin between too large of a footprint in the store. For that, I feel for her and accept that should could not help everyone in a timely manner. However, I have a list of grievances: 1. Someone PLEASE organize the racks. It took me over 2 hours to find 4 of the same 34x32 pants. Seriously, every night, someone needs to figure this out. 2. Your sales are confusing. On one sign, it said Perry Ellis Portfolio pants for $49. And on another sign, it said "buy one Perris Ellis Portfolio Pants, get one free". But, then I find out that it is, buy one at regular price of $75 and then get one free. Give me a break guys. 3. I think I was getting pants from the ghetto part of the store, because there was plenty of employees standing around in the Polo and suits departments. I did drop over $250 yesterday, so just because i am not buying an overpriced Polo shirt does not mean I do not want some customer service. 4. Clearance Racks - please do not clutter these with the non-clearance items. Nothing is more confusing when I pull two identical items from different racks and wonder what the price is (see #1). I don't usually like to voice my negative experiences with retail stores because I know from experience that working at a large store like Macy's can be a difficult and testing experience sometimes for the sales associates. As a result of that, I try to be as prepared and polite as possible to the associates that help me. Today, however, I received some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I came in around noonish today to make a return where half of the payment from the item derived from an Ez-Exchange card, and the rest of the payment was made on my Skylight card (as a prior Macy's employee myself this was the card that they supplied to deposit my paycheck). When I did my return, the sales associate (I don't know her name, she wasn't wearing a name tag so I'm not sure if she was part of management or not) quickly snapped at me and stated that if I didn't have the "gift Visa" she wouldn't be able to put the part of the return that I wanted back on my card. Remembering that I never paid with a Visa gift card, I was a little confused and took a few seconds to try and figure out what that form of payment could be. Seeing that it was my Skylight card, I grabbed it and said I would like to still put that portion of the return back on my card. Yes, I am aware it would have been easier for the associate to just give me another Ez-Exchange card with the total amount, but I did truly need the fraction of the return to be put back onto my card (which really only takes a few extra seconds). Her attitude did little to hide her frustration with me and then in the most condescending way imaginable told me to have a good rest of my day. The manner in which she addressed me was something I can't even put into words-- just obvious irritation and very condescending. I couldn't even look her in the eye at the end of the transaction and was pretty much speechless. I get that people have bad days, and I'd like to think that this was the case for her. I honestly wasn't nearly as difficult of a customer as she probably experiences throughout the day. Macy's prides themselves on their customers leaving the store happier than when they walked in, and this experience left me feeling absolutely horrible as a customer. read more

good location inside Washington Square Mall. interior is not as bright as the sun as the new Macys located in Downtown Summerlin (Las Vegas), but still bright. were able to browse their housewares without being bothered, which is always nice. their restroom (yes, i had to go BAD) was way off in kid's land, so quite the weird location. but restrooms were LARGE and clean. read more

Terrible experience buying jewelry here and never will again. I purchased this beautiful heart necklace for my girlfriend just couple days ago for her birthday and drove all the way to Vancouver just to get it since all the other stores were sold out. She loved it and took it out the box and the chain just snapped just like that and it wasn't cheap either. So I take it back to Macy's seeing if they can do something about it since I paid a lot for it and the guy there said lets see if we have another chain to replace it so he goes to check comes back and says no sorry we have none but we do have some chains that you can purchase then walks away. Terrible effing service and its your guys chain that broke. How about replacing the chain for me instead or give us a better one so my gf can wear her necklace. None available local, but located 1 shirt at 4 stores in California, and called them each until he found one still in inventory, and arranged to have it shipped to me. Do NOT get a Macys credit card! I went to the store and attempted to make a purchase with my Macys card. They declined the purchase and wanted me to make a payment on the card immediately, though they could not tell me what the charge was for, I said I wanted to talk to customer service first because I didn't think I owed anything on the card. When I contacted customer service, I got a recorded message telling me to contact a collection agency. So I called there and the collection agency said they have no information about the charges, but I needed to pay them. So I wrote in to Macys' credit service department and they told me that only the collection agency could talk to me. But they don't know anything! So my credit is being damaged, I'm having payment demanded and I have no idea why. What sort of customer service is this?? read more
