I live in a smaller city and they had no women's plus size department inside of this particular Macys store. I have several people in my family that are plus size and I couldn't even take them there. It was the only Macy's in our city. It was a regular large Macy's, and they catered to all other sizes, but if you're a plus size you didn't count I guess. Today I bought a dress at Macy's in Spokane Valley. When I got home I tried it on again and decided I wanted a different size. I called the store and spoke with Marianne. She looked it up in the system and it said there was one possibly in stock; she went above and beyond to find the dress that I was looking for. Ultimately, the dress was not in stock in that size but I was very impressed with her willingness to look it up in the system and run around the floor looking for this one particular dress even though she was working in a different department. She even checked the dressing rooms and anywhere else the one dress could be. Thank you Marianne! read more

We went there today shopping for a Prom dress for my granddaughter. The one she chose was white. When she held it up, I noticed the bottom of the dress was filthy. My daughter asked if they would discount it since it was stained. The clerk accused her of dragging it across the floor so she could get a discount. I was so mad I had to leave the store. I immediately called and closed my account. The customer service rep could care less that I was closing my account that I have had for over 10 years. If I could give you no stars, I would! My daughter went here yesterday with her friends, and immediately, they were given harsh, judgemental stares! My daughter picked up a makeup pallette, and said the clerk came up behind her within 2 seconds and asked her if she was going to pay for it! Then, when they decided to leave because you were being rude to them, you asked them again if they had anything to purchase! Are you kidding me?! Why? Because they're teens?! Not all teens are thieves! How dare you treat them like they're criminals! I went in today with my baby and I was ignored while three female employees were standing gossiping. They looked at me as if I had no money or intention to buy. Not one single employee even acknowledged me or offered any help. Even the ones who were not busy. One lady even managed to give me the stink eye. Very classy. read more

I purchased bedding that included sheets, beautiful duvet, decorative pillows, etc., all supposedly queen size. I should have taken note that it was made in China! The sheets are too small for my queen size bed! pillow cases are also too small. Unfortunately, I lost my receipt...paid cash. I'll be careful from now on not to buy from Macy's. They used to be a high-class store. Now their products aren't even up to Walmart and Target standards. read more

I find it slightly aggravating to shop here. The employees at the makeup counter are really unfriendly. I've spent 10+ minutes browsing while they're chatting amongst themselves, not offering assistance. Out of frustration, I left and went to Sephora. The older lady at the Coach counter is very snobby. She must be pals with the makeup girls. I haven't had any problems with associates in clothing. However, my husband and I have trouble finding clothes we like here. This isn't the case at the Northtown Macy's. Although, this store isn't quite as busy as the other locations, so they have more selection on the sale rack. More selection and better prices. I do enjoy the Fine Jewelry department. The associates there have been knowledgeable, patient, and nice. I have never been dissatisfied with their fine jewelry. Overall, I enjoy that this Macy's is quieter than the others and has a less picked through, more organized inventory, but I wish the ladies in the makeup and Coach counter would improve their customer service skills. read more

Easy problem to fix...my wife wanted to exchange a defective pan which was advertised with a " lifetime warranty " .... which means 5 years to Macy's by the way....as an extra snooty customer service person informed us. She then told us to bring back all items that were in the set, as she could not just exchange the damaged item. ...Hey Macy people, just get her a NEW PAN!! ...I think you have way too many policy's that turn a simple problem with a simple solution into a pissed off customer. . read more

I have been standing at the jewelry counter for over 20 minutes without seeing a single customer service rep/ employee. I'm standing over a rack of necklaces that price at over 1 thousand dollars each. And nobodys even asks if I need help also I love the online selection but the in-store selection when it comes to the jewelry specially for the chains section is sporadic it's either 120$ or 2500$ read more

IMO this is the best Macy's in Spokane. They have the best clothes, jewelry and purses selections by far! Layout is roomy compared to the other Macys, and they have more expensive brands than the other Macys. There is no carpet or furniture depts, but there are several Macys without those depts. read more

She was so sweet, and I know Macy's doesn't really give raises, but she definitely deserves one! I really appreciated how nice she was and not pushy at all! I am growing more and more dissatisfied with Macy's . From the unfriendly staff at the makeup counter (Clinique), to the newest campaign of prepaying for items to get the future sell price, to the lack of good customer service in general. I recently went in to buy foundation because , well I needed it. Not only was I horribly mismatched in color, but then I was not communicated well and inappropriately "convinced" to prepay for the foundation and pick it up in 3WEEKS, so that I was guaranteed my free gift. While the free gifts are super cool, I needed foundation right then and didn't want to pay 3 weeks in advance and not go home with the foundation. Ironically, my daughter went to Macy's at north town, approx the 3 weeks later, was also mismatched for the foundation, and had no problem receiving the free gift that was "sure to go quickly, and the line will be long". After a few minutes, I realized that I didn't want the free gift badly enough to wait 3 weeks, so I went back to cancel my pre order and just pay for my foundation, only to wait 45 mins to do so because the service is less than stellar, and then was treated rather rudely because I canceled my pre order. This preorder seems to be their new gimmick, and I have no interest in participating, enough to remain a Macy's loyal customer . If you are needing makeup, Sephora has 10 times the customer service! read more

I would agree that the make up counters are very frustrating. Customer service could definately use some improvements. The shoe department is also like this, it takes forever to find someone to help you and in my experience they never seem to have my size. Clothing areas are ok. read more

I went in on two occasions to purchase foundation from the beauty department. The employees seemed very knowledgeable, and were friendly but both times the final product i received was wrong. First i found a foundation i really liked and even had my skin color matched. He sent me home with lots of samples until they ordered me the right color. I payed and left happy. When i came back to pick up the make up i took it home and it was not even close to the same shade as the sample i had been using. When i came back, the woman who helped me agreed it was wrong and promised to order the right one. After receiving he new make up i found out it was wrong again. I thought maybe it was just that brand. A few months later for some reason i came back to try another brand of make up. And again the exact same thing happened! I will not be shopping in the beauty department at mac'ys again after this. Very frustrated. read more
