This morning, I took my wife to the mall to get a pair of blue jeans at the Gap. We found nothing of interest there, and the employees paid no attention to us. We walked next store to the Nordstroms and were immediately greeted by an eager employee that listened to what my wife was looking for. She guided us through the choices and helped pick a few jeans to try on. My wife found the perfect pair. I don't know if anyone at Nordstroms will see this review, but Marcela was such a breath of fresh air, I plan to return to this store the next time I need some quality clothing. read more

Had a horrible experience at this store trying to get some alterations done to a dress. We had a scheduled appointment to have measurements done but the alteration people were late in getting to us. When we were eventually seen to, we were treated in a condescending manner, then left to wait another 30 minutes. After the second wait, were we again very poorly treated by another employee. We were left with the impression that we were not good enough to be Nordstrom customers. read more

Great customer service and convenient curbside pick up. Wish others didn't park in the curbside pick up area. It delays the process for others. Order pick up has a convenient dressing room to try on items and return them on the spot it they don't work for you. Hannah at the Estée Lauder counter is so attentive to my needs and picked the right color for my foundation. She lets me know when favorite products are on sale. read more

I'm late on this one. On Black Friday, I decided that I wanted a new suit for my Christmas gift to me. I went into Nordstrom and saw Jackson and told him that I wanted to buy a new suit for Christmas. He was very happy to hear this and we started our journey through the colors. He remembers that I had been eyeing the Lilac suit for a few months and he brought it up for my yay or nay. I asked if it was possible to wear it before spring and he says "I don't see why not!" So I thought back over the previous nine months and realized that it would look fantastic for Spring and Summer. I told Jackson it was a go and he pulled out the iPad and we went through the whole drill and got the suit ordered. Two weeks later (or so near Christmas Eve) the suit shows up although due to being busy, I pick it up two days after Christmas. I get pretty excited when I see it accompanied by my usual tuxedo shirt and my purple bow tie. It looks every bit as good as the one that the model wears. So, I now have a lilac suit and just need to order some new bow ties (the darker purple is alright but it'll get old fast) of a lighter, brighter nature. So far the weather's been uncooperative as far as me wearing it but Spring's around the corner for this one. BUT THAT's NOT ALL! A few weeks ago, I was thumbing through the Indochino site and the word CLEARENCE hit me hard. So just for a fun bit, I hit on the shop button and started looking through the clearance suits. I found one that I had not thought of. A Navy Blue Velvet tuxedo for a huge reduced price. I inquired if the pants were velvet; the Indochino representative told me the pants were indeed velvet. So I thanked him and moved on. They also had the same tux coat available alone and that gave me a nice warm vibe. With my Hartley Grey Suit pants it would be the suit I had in high school over 40 years ago!!! I immediately set an appointment with Jackson to run it by him. That Friday arrived, but Jackson caught a bug so was under the weather. No problem as his assistant walked me through the process and even suggested that I might even like a new pair of tuxedo trousers to go with it. I said how much can you knock off? He said that we (meaning Jackson or him) can bring it down to $385 or maybe better. So, I now have waiting a Navy Velvet tuxedo coat and a new set of tuxedo pants. It's in the system and tomorrow Jackson and I will review it all and if it works out, there's gonna be a reasonable replication of my favorite high school tuxedo. Now, if I am going to be really accurate, I will have to wear it with a black or navy velvet bow tie (have both already) and a white ruffled French Cuff tuxedo shirt (wondering if Jackson can find one or if not I know a place that has one). Of course the shirt won't be worn to church (it's a bit over the top) but it will be worn elsewhere when I wear this suit. Frankly, I don't think I would've attempted to try and recreate one of my suits from high school, but the CLEARENCE section made me look a bit more and I think it will be fun to try and pull this off in my 60's. Only wish I could go back to LC wearing the whole outfit and see what a 2025 teenager might say upon seeing me this dressed up and not for Prom either. Stay tuned for the end of the story. The 3 employees on the second floor womens department were too busy chatting about their social lives and how wonderful each of them were to say hello or ask if I needed help. This large upscale department store has managed to survive in downtown even when many other large department stores have left. There has to be a reason! Is it their merchandise? Their service? I love their shoes and their sales and once upon a time I bought a lot of kid's clothes here. Now, I shop their online app and return the item to this store if it doesn't fit, but it's worth the hassle of downtown parking to visit the store particularly during their sales. I also love how classy their bags are (except during sales). If you are downtown and need to do some shopping, it's worth popping in. read more

I revisited this Nordstrom today. The store is merchandised more to the standards we are accustomed to. The associates in the main floor where very friendly and helpful towards all the guests. I wanted to try on a dress on the second floor. I circled the entire floor, carrying two dresses, looking forward an associate to open a fitting room. Finally, I realized one lady, who was wearing Teva sport sandals, a hat, a cross-body bag, and was texting on her phone was an employee. I had to ask her for a fitting room. I work right near Nordstrom and more than one time I wore the wrong shoes on an event day and had to run to Nordstrom to buy some. They have my size, always. And there is consistently someone there to tell me exactly where I can find a pair of budget flats within 20 minutes. DONE. Coupons are awesome and it is a luxury little slice downtown. That's the thing I love about shopping at Nordstroms, they are more than willing to help and if you have a list that is fairly large, don't worry about it. Go to customer service and ask for help. You can have a personal shopper helping you pick out items, looking for proper sizes, and the best thing is the ladies are more than helpful with ideas and matching sets. This Nordstrom location is great! Check out the third floor women's lounge for an excellent place to change a diaper or feed a cranky baby. Kid's shoe selection is excellent as well. They'll measure your kid's feet and treat them to a balloon! For some reason I usually end up purchasing shoes, accessories, or personal care products here. So, if you are in the market for those items you'll probably find things here you can't find anywhere else in Spokane. read more

I went to Nordstrom to find a dress to wear to my daughters graduation. I was greeted once when I had a couple of items in my hand and the salesclerk opened a dressing room for me. I never saw her again. No one checked on me while I was in the dressing room to see how I was doing and no one noticed when I walked out. Where's that supposed above and beyond service? Maybe I didn't look like someone who could afford to shop there? At any rate, I was able and willing to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a special dress. Their overall dress selection was very limited as well. I went across the street to Anthropologie where the service was outstanding!! They had a dressing room clerk who got different sizes, told me about different colors that were available online, and brought me other dress options to try on. This was the first time where I've not only found what I needed in a store (size 30G), but been met with kindness and support. The customer service here is top notch. While it's pricey (hello, it's Nordstrom), you are treated respectfully and well. Both purchases, returns, and browsing are easy and fun. I especially appreciate excellent customer service when a mistake has been made. A good company accepts responsibility and fixes the problem. This Nordstrom is a champ at that. Case in point: I bought my husband a bottle of cologne for his birthday last month, and the salesperson (who was truly the only unfriendly person I've EVER encountered in this store) sold me the wrong bottle. I had shown him the tester of the bottle I wanted, and he just picked the wrong box off the shelf. I returned it the next day and had the pleasure of dealing with the manager of men's fragrances, Blanka. She not only immediately exchanged for the correct cologne, but she showed me that there was a bonus gift AND through in an extra bonus gift for my father. Returning things often feels uncomfortable, but Blanka is just an example of how this Nordstrom doesn't make it so. Pro tip: There are so many sample options in the perfume section. During my great hunt to find the right perfume for me, I was offered so many great take home samples with little immediate pressure to buy you might find elsewhere. read more

Went to Nordstrom to get makeup and moisturizer without really knowing what. A young lady at the MAC counter was super helpful, showing me different mascaras and eyeliners, and made sure I got everything I needed, included my Lancôme moisturizer. Macy's richer better looking relative. Nordstrom. This place is what Starbucks is to coffee. An uppity expensive retail store of brand clothing. I am judging at the same time I DO like Nordstrom (didn't you see the 5 stars I gave it?) As already stated, it's the kind of store that has higher brand clothing, but not the highest (i don't think Spokane could handle that). Like Hugo boss, Calvin Klein, Lacoste, Tommy Bahama, and Burberry for men, to name a few. They have a tailor which I had the privilege to use once to get a Boss suit fitted to my exact measurements and let me tell you the tailoring is no joke. It's the only way to do it, if you are going to buy a suit YOU GO ALL THE WAY. It fits me like a glove! Anyways, pretty magical place regardless whether it's the holidays or not. You feel as if you where , rich, elite, important just by walking in, but don't let that get way too in your head ;). Very helpful staff. Come check it out. read more

This is more of a review for the Men's department than the entire store, but if the exemplary customer service I received is any indication of how the entire store operates, then it's an accurate reflection. I was looking for suits, specifically black and navy, to replace some that I'd 'outgrown'. Zee, my associate/stylist really knocked or out of the park with recommendations and suggestions. She listened to my needs, concerns and offered viable suggestions. After some trial/error with a few items, we had the alterations expert over doing measurements and had two suits plus a few shirts in the works. I'm sold! As to the 'men's store' a floor below in another part of River Parks - nice items, but customer service at Nordy's wins. read more

You owe it to yourself to shop at Nordstrom's, if only to experience their unparalleled customer service. Thier higher-end brands are also worth the visit, as are the large, plush dressing rooms, and the large mirrored viewing areas by the dressing rooms, with thier upholstered seats and sofas for family and friends. I also love the beautifully finished women's lounge area, and washrooms. Every part of the Nordstrom's experience is made to make you feel pampered and in good hands. Thier tailoring is a great deal here, even if you didn't purchase the clothing from the store. And if you did, most tailoring jobs are complimentary. I love the brands they carry, like Halogen, which I find reasonably priced for the high quality of the clothing. The sales ladies and gents have always been helpful and attentive and ready to start a dressing room for you. Devon in the shoe department is awesome! Nobody wants you to assist in putting anything away and all the sales staff seem genuinely interested in making your experience shopping here a good one. I like how this store is spread out over different levels, and how none of the merchandise is crammed together. It's all spread out well, so you can see everything clearly. (In contrast, I found the Macy's in this mall super-crammed. I usually love Macy's, too! But the one here is too cluttered). read more

Bad decision- we attempted to order 2 Ted Baker suits online with our sweet sales rep Zdenka.... only to have our entire order CANCELLED through an email! I can only compare with our stores in Az. I felt this store was way under stocked . I would not go expecting to find the wide variety of products You're used to finding in Nordstrom. This is the worst Nordstrom I have been to! The staff is very rude and unhelpful! I purchased a Kate Spade bag here and the hardware on it broke. I went to take it back to have it replaced and the stuck up employee told me they didn't carry that bag. Then after much back and forth with this terrible employee a manager was finally called and she was easily able to find the purse on the website and order a replacement. I made the three hour trek to Spokane for the Nordstrom annual Sale. Yes I could have gone to the Bellevue location and saved about 1.5 hrs of travel time. I had other things to do and people to see. The annual sale is the best time to shop. I don't have a Nordstrom card. So my shopping experience started later. Nordstrom didn't disappoint me or us non card holders. Stock and selections were still plentiful. I was able to get everything I needed and more. The customer service is still the best there is. read more

This store is the closest one to home (even though it is still over 100 miles away), but the downtown location is a plus. If you buy anything and are parked in the parking garage be sure to show your receipt for credit on the parking charge. The shoe department here is my wife's favorite, but I also got lucky today in the men's department today (I found some Christmas presents for myself). Seemed like the manager or whoever was in charge talks terribly to their employees, and I overheard a conversation she was having that was not only unprofessional infront of customers but seemed to go completely against what she chastised other employees for. Her name started with an A but honestly I left the store almost immediately after seeing how negative the store has become. Employees all seem uninterested to help you, managers are not using effective communication or proper "managing" especially in shoes. What once was the best store around has gone extremely downhill. First of let me just say that I love shopping and browsing through Nordstrom, it's almost as if they are given an etiquette class before they start working for Nordstrom. Everyone here is very kind and helpful and what I appreciate is they aren't so "in your face" like most retail associates can be. Everyone is very helpful especially all of the ladies in cosmetics and accessories.. I love the fact that they give you their card because it's always nice to go back to the same person who helped you and knows what works or hasn't worked for you because they are familiar with who you are because they have helped you or you've purchased something from them. I am constantly impressed by this Nordstrom. Today, I went in to exchange some new Ray Ban's I purchased for a different color (green sounded good in the moment but after about an hour I realized it was too bright for me). I purchased the Ray Ban's in California so it should have been an even exchange except that Washington tax caused me to owe somewhere around $1.50. I checked my wallet for spare change and had a dollar and about 10 pennies. Where is all my change when I actually need it right?!?! So i hand the cashier my nordstrom card to charge the additional tax. She literally pulled her own money out of her own pocket and said she would pay the difference. I mean 50 cents isn't a lot but for her to offer and insist on this was so kind! That is the kind of customer service rep that truly makes a positive impact on a customer. After I thanked her for the gracious offer I told her I could not accept her money and to just charge my card, no big deal. She wouldn't stand for it and found a way to make the tax equal what I had paid in CA for an even exchange. It was over a meager $1.50 charge but she really went above and beyond to try and help me and left me wanting to help a stranger in return. Keep hiring great people, Nordstrom. read more

The associated walked away when I said I had one, and walked over to a group of three other associates. I usually appreciate the customer service I experience at Nordstrom but yesterday was a bit frustrating. My husband received a dress shirt as a gift so no receipt but the tag in the collar was obviously Nordstrom. The seam in the sleeve along the forearm split and he wanted it fixed or replaced. I think it was a defect in the shirt. The option was either pay for the repair or buy a new shirt. I know we didn't have the receipt but it was clearly a Nordstrom dress shirt, probably $80-90.
