My issue is not with the store itself, it's mostly the associates who work in the cosmetics and fragrance section. I appreciate good customer service, don't get me wrong--It's just that I can't tolerate being there for more than 5 minutes since I will inevitably be approached at least 2-3 times by different associates. Also, it seems as if they get annoyed when you take a little longer to make a purchasing decision. I don't typically shop at Macy's-it's not really my thing but I do love high end makeup and fragrances. Unfortunately, I won't be returning here due to the overbearing sales associates. read more

I absolutely LOVE shopping at Macy's when I'm in the US! They have a great selection of brands, and I always seem to be able to find a good deal. For women, they carry designer labels like Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, INC, Rachel Roy, Paige and more. A fantastic place to shop for home goods and formal dresses as well. Comparing them to a department store like The Bay in Canada, they definitely have a better size and brand selection, and overall provide excellent service. For Canadians: If you go to Customer Service or tell them at the cash register that you are visiting from out of town, they will ask you for ID and give you another 10% off! This cannot be combined with other offers if you watch the US newspapers for coupons. read more

The actions and decisions from Macys from leadership, to corporate, and the top ultimately affect the people on the bottom the people who work for you MR Genett and weather those decisions are good or bad these people are the ones who have to suffer if the decisions from the top are bad or result in negativity. And the decisions from the top which had adversely affected Macys sales results over the last five years in a negative way has resulted in major changes to Macys operations. the people on the bottom the people who merchandise the product to the people who sale our merchandise from people who protect our product and our people leaders are the ones who burden the brunt of these negative consequences which results in pay cuts demotions and ultimately layoffs. And ultimately the negative results of Macys productivity over the last 5 years is a direct result of the decisions that people at the top have made but we the people who are at the bottom take the brunt of the negative consequences Contrary to what you may have heard that Macys announced that they would be laying off 3900 corporate and back of house management but rather they have been letting people go who are hourly associates. I can attest to the fact that just my store at Scottsdale fashion square there are more than ten hourly colleagues that have either retired, been demoted to a lower position or laid off. A lot of these colleagues are older and have been with the company for a long period of time. In addition, they cut people by attrition meaning if that colleague quits, gets fired or retires that that position is eliminated and this is never talked about but yet there probably has been more jobs cut that way than actual layoffs. That is why you see so few sales people on the floor over the last 7 years I can personally say that they have reduced staff by more than 50% in each department. So when Jeff Genett made these statements announcing that 3900 corporate and back house employees would be laid off, he was not being entirely honest. He also made statements that he did not want to bring furloughed collogues back only to then have to lay them off. But once again I can attest that I know someone personally who was brought back and then 3 weeks later laid off. But what really brought this matter to a head was not that I lost my job of seven years not that several of my colleagues and my friends were let go it was that all of this happened and at the end of the day the people got awarded including Mr. Genette with extensive pay raises while many of the people who work for him now do not have a job. Also look at the fact that these 3900 plus employees each got a severance per how many years of service they had. I received a severance offer as well but Macys for no apparent reason withheld my severance the provided me with an offer but did not follow up with the severance packet rather in retaliation, they withheld that offer One of the prerogatives of a company should be to have good employees and to foster growth of those employees but rather it is the opposite with Macys. I have worked for the company for 7 years and I can honestly say that every elevated position I was promoted to was either cut or eliminated not because of performance but because of the consequences of the bad decision making on the top. This has not only happened to me but other colleagues as well were they get promoted to a position only to have it eliminated down the road. So rather than promoting growth of colleagues they have a contract with an outplacement services for displaced collogues like myself. So I want to tell the truth I want to get my story out and I hope that MR Genett will personally read this so that he can understand what he is putting his people through and I will tell everyone my story because I want people to know what I went through. I came to Macys in in 2013 when I was at a low point in my life, I had been through more things than most people have gone through My mother had passed away from cancer in 2010 when I was only 23 and she had been sick for almost half of my life She had phase 4 Metastatic breast cancer that went into her bones and lungs she was told she had a month to live but survived more than ten years she survived multiple rounds of chemotherapy, multiple rounds of radiation 2 bard port operations to her chest weekly blood transfusions several jaw surgeries due to jaw necrosis and multiple stents placed in her kidneys after all of that she finally passed of renal failure in august of 2010. A few weeks after starting my job at Macys my Grandmother died in 2013 from heart complications, she also had dementia and would often get confused and mispronounce people's names She had suffered a heart attack and needed a quadruple bypass but she did not survive the procedure. A year later in 2014 My grandfather died from complications from shingles which turned into encephalitis and he died in home hospice care in 2014. While al read more

Enjoyed walking around this Macy's. Customer service was very friendly. Selection in women's department is spotty. Overall, I found what I needed. A+ read more

This is a fantastic location! I am writing this review based on the Men's Wear department. Absolutely amazing. Recently, I started a new job, and it was time to get a new wardrobe. I came into some cash, so I figured why not splurge a little. I bought a suit, some slacks, and a bunch of dress shirts in this round of shopping. The remarkable note here is that the staff is VERY friendly and HELPFUL. They aren't just cashiers. They know how to properly measure you for your clothing, make recommendations on what looks good, and give you suggestions on what is properly fitted and what isn't. I nearly bought a jacket that was two sizes too big because it felt "comfortable" and it was my old size (thank God I've been working out". The new jacket size actually is WAY more flattering and I look like a G in it. Helpful tip: If the sizings work for you, buy as many of the DKNY and Calvin Klein dress shirts as you can because these designers tend to keep changing their cuts. Dear Men's Wear Department at Macy's Fashion Square: You've always got a customer in me. read more

They offered a cuisinart coffee maker for $80 with a $20 rebate, making it a $60 purchase in all. I filled out the rebate immediately and sent it off. They denied the rebate due to invalid post date. Never will shop there again Use amazon! read more

As far as Macy's stores go, this one was pretty average. The store was clean, but I always feel as though the sections are overcrowded. There were several staff members working, although we never spoke to any of them. Macy's does not really seem to fit my style type or my desired price point, although I'm sure there are many people that love it. They do have some clearance racks, but it's hard to justify paying clearance price there when I can get something similar that I love for cheaper at another store even at regular price. read more

This is THE Macy's to go to if you're looking for the higher-end Macys's-level designer brands, at least for men. While Biltmore has lost many of their high-end brands (7 for all Mankind, Armani Jeans, Hugo Boss), Scottsdale still has many, including: G-Star Raw, Diesel, Armani Jeans, the usual "better" brands like Tommy Bahama, Lacoste, and "the usual" Calvin Klein, Nautica, Tommy Hilfiger, and Polo Ralph Lauren. It also has a VERY large men's underwear and swimwear department and still has the men's "Impulse" department (trendier, more expensive young men's fashion and premium denim). I will say that their sales racks are more difficult to navigate than Biltmore or Chandler. They do have plentiful fitting rooms though, and I appreciate the self price-check machines. It's simply the largest, highest volume, most upscale Macy's around. I've had some nice interactions with employees too, though for the most part I am left alone. Don't forget to check the exclusions on your coupons! read more

I would not recommend buying furniture from Macy's. I bought a couch with extended warranty (sold by Macy's) and provided by warranty service.com. It included structural warranty and I paid $450 for warranty only. After two years structure is broken and sectional back is out of alignment. Called warranty company and uploaded all images and they call it wear and tear. It's funny that any guy seeing photo can say that it's broken from inside. Now either keep following with all these guys and waste your time or keep quite and get frustrated. I've not heard same experience at other furniture store. May be Macy's selling cheap warranty. Avoid warrantyservice.com also. Attaching photos also. read more

I tried to return 2 sale items that were 5 days past the 30day return policy and was refused a refund or exchange. I understand stores have return policies but that was a little too strict. I will not ever shop at a Macy's again. There are many more choices in department stores and I would prefer a store that is not as punishing over 5 days. Anita read more

I HATE THIS MACYS and will never step foot back in the place. They do not answer the phones ever, and when on the rare occasion you get a live body to talk to on the phone it is someone from a foreign phone back that does not give a crap about customer service and does not understand English. Macy's sends out coupons by the dozens but finds any way possible not to honor them even if the items you are buying are not shown as excluded on the back of the coupon. I used to use Macy's as my go to store especially for holiday, but as of today i am cancelling my Macy's card. I bet within a year this store will be out of business. So long Macy's, I am taking my hard earned money elsewhere! read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service experience, on multiple occasions. I thought after the 1st time, maybe it was that person or that department. Nope. just went in for my 5th time since moving from Chandler to Down Town Phx. I WILL not be back. ever. period. This location is Terrible. Ive never written a bad yelp review, until now; nearly 12 hours after going and im still PO'd. I'll save the extremly long review because this macys doesnt deserve the time of day, nor anyones hard earned Money. Go to Biltmore or Chandler Mall instead; or Nordstroms. At least they understand our money keeps them employed. read more

Macy's Furniture Delivery Service is a big joke!!!! This has been a very frustrating ordeal. We purchased a floor model bed and were going to pick it up, however, we decided to have it delivered It was going to be a Saturday, however, a week later, I find out they "only" do "store to door" delivery service on "Wednesday". Not happy. So delivery charge was paid, receive 2 phone messages that the bed would be delivered on Wed between 12-2. 2:00 rolls around, and no bed. I called and was informed that there was a delay, and that there was another order in front of mine, and we are now looking at deliver between 4-6. 5:00 i called, Macys delivery service, and was on hold forever, only to find out it was scheduled for Thursday and not Wednesday. Ha! I told them the situation, and they cannot explain, and was told if i am not there to accept delivery on Thursday, then i will have to reschedule. However, they could not provide me with a time. Go figure. The next day, my husband decided to call, as i could and would not wait 15 min to speak to a representative. He finds out that they will deliver the bed between 4-6. Unacceptable, and works it out to have it delivered Friday morning. In the meantime, we are scrambling around, trying to figure out who can stay and wait 2+ hours on the delivery. That Thursday, i receive a call at 1:00 and was informed they will be there in 30 minutes. WTH. I have to leave work, and now i am waiting for over an hour. Steve from Macys did refund my delivery charge, and that is appreciative, but this whole ordeal is ridiculous...... and don't get me started on day to day shopping experience at Macy's and their 20% off coupon cards. A Big Joke.. anyway, be aware read more

After what was a frustrating start to a sectional furniture purchase, we did receive our sectional yesterday. Here's the brief version of the story: January 29, ordered sectional --1 in stock in LA warehouse, to be delivered to our new home Feb 20. February 20 --informed by Third party delivery service the sofa had been inadvertently returned to LA and could not guarantee return delivery before March. 6. As this was unacceptable, we called our sales associate Greg A , who in turn informed his department Manager, Steve, who immediately became involved calling managers and VP's of customer service to make this turn around happen. They also offered us compensation as well as waived the delivery fee to help for our inconvenience. Denise, a customer service Manager called several times during the transit and again today to make certain everything was satisfactory. It was, and this Macy's Scottsdale and LA team, went above and beyond to make these customers happy Thanks To All read more

I like it a lot and great shopping there and it was fun to work at Macy's in CA. Thanks xoxoxooo

Went shopping in the Mens's and Women's department this past Thursday and Friday evening with my husband to find us some holiday clothes. The experience was VERY frustrating and extremely "unshopworthy" (my make-up word of the day). The men's section being far worse than the women's (although still a problem in the women's dept), none of the sizing on the hanger matched the sizing of the garments actually on the hanger. We ended up with multiple wrong sizes in the fitting room. When we figured out what the problem was, the shopping experience took WAY longer than it should have because we had to dig around looking for the tags to confirm the sizing on the hanger. In the end, way more clothes were piled high in the fit room and the staff created more work for themselves and a dissatisfying shopping experience for their customers due to their laziness. Where is their supervising manager ensuring that the staff are doing their job and closing their sections up to the good standards I thought Macy's has/had? No wonder Macy's is closing many of their retails stores and focusing more on online retail - customers don't have time, nor do they want to shop in slob stores. Let's not forget however, that even with the changing of times and how people like to shop (via online or in person), there's still a large percentage of us that like going in-store to touch the fabrics, try things on, twirl in front of the mirror and simply enjoy a hands-on shopping experience. read more

I love finding deals. I am a shopper after all. I like that this store is always full of great offers for a lot of items. I love to wear dresses and it is so easy to find a few at great prices. I ended up buying 4 dresses last week. They were so cute. Customer service has always been pleasant. Maybe because they see me there a lot, and by a lot I mean at least once a week. Now that the twins are a little older, it seems I get more free time for one of my favorite hobbies. Yikes, I don't think my hubby is going to like it. read more

This Fragrance dept. is worst - for a high end mall. Sales women look at their watches, impatient ( those bothersome customers...). It;s a chore to be pleasant & really don't know much. Am I the only person who thinks this store is a pigsty? Sales and clearance racks are just a mess. Nothing on the right hangers or sorted in the correct size sections. It's so frustrating to pull out a cute dress on a size 8 hanger and have it really be a size 14. The same goes for the lingerie sale racks. Teresa - hotel from the home section was the rudest woman. We bought a duvet cover set from her along with a number of other items and she had the worst attitude. Love the size of this Macy's not so overwhelming & the deals are off the charts mid summer on summer outfits. We were at Macy's Sunday to try and purchase a small couch/ love seat. We attempted to purchase it on line and it was a fiasco and we could not complete the order. We decided to get to a store in person and take care of it again. We had been to the Macy's in Mesa, on the phone with Macy's and now we want to get it done in person. We arrived as the store opened and were immediately greeted by Napoleon. He watched us but not too close as we walked the floor looking for furniture, he interjected at the right time offering constructive information and value when needed. We did find the couch we were interested in and wrapped it up. Napoleon was professional, friendly, patient and prompt. He explained every step with us and we happy to give him the sale. It was a good way to start our day and a good way to start his day. Thank you for a great experience, we will be back ! read more

Unbelievable that small furniture items not allowed at order on line pickup at store option. Was there 6/26 at 7:30pm. I was breastfeeding by the fitting room because the restrooms were closed at the top floor. I'm by the woman's top floor department and two African American ladies that worked there were talking about me and my baby. I over heard them saying things like "I would never bring my baby that young out." This is my second child by the way but they made me feel uncomfortable that they were talking about me pretty loud that I could hear them. Not okay for Macy workers. This is our go to shopping location for clothes, shoes and housewares although we rarely, if ever buy anything that is NOT on sale. If you play your (discount) cards right, you can walk out of here with literally hundreds of dollars of savings. Between Macy's rewards (earned in $25 increments) and regular periodic discounts up to 20% just for using you Macy's charge card, it's almost impossible to pay full price for anything. We have purchased lots of clothes for the entire family from dress suits to bathing suits, lots of women's shoes and a fair amount of stuff for our home. I we purchased a heavy and stylish set of flatware service for 12 recently and got it for around $30 . . . cheaper than Walmart but way better quality and looks. This isn't the biggest Macy's around . . . the one at The Biltmore Center may be larger and it's a mere speck compared to their main store on 34th St. in mid-town Manhattan which is a shopping experience unlike any other. But this location gets the job done. If you can't find your size, simply bring the item to a sales associate who will happily check their computerize inventory to see if it is available either there or at another location. I give Macy's overall 5 Stars. I gave this location 4 stars because it is a bit smaller with a limited inventory but don't let that stop you from becoming a devoted and loyal Macy's shopper. read more
