Seriously, I bought a tux online(jacket and pants} and when it arrived there was only the jacket. They said it was a confirmed delivery and that they would not credit or corrcect the problem. I guess my husband has to go to a black tie affair with no pants!! Their call center must be in the Phillipines as I could not understand anything. This Macy's is located in the Shops at Mission Viejo. My friend wanted to come here to buy something specific on sale. It turned out they had two buildings in the mall so she ended up having to go to both to find the item. The cashier said "Macy's card" to us and expected us to understand the implications of this phrase and how to respond. We did not comprehend this statement until they clarified that they were asking if we had one. It's no different than when a cashier in Japan asked me if I had a point card for the location in Japanese and expected me to understand their verbal inquiry instantly. It made us question if we were required to have one to buy stuff in the first place. The checkout process was extremely slow as there were no other staff members at the time. When we tried to get back down to the floor we could exit out of, the escalator was not moving and we had to walk down it. I kept worrying we would drop stuff off the side. The reception in the mall was terrible, so we weren't able to play Pokémon GO while shopping. read more

What is going on with this store? Sad. Rows and rows of clothing with no real setup on how to shop. It's all mushed together. Used to be so fun to shop all the different designers. I'm not going to pay $178.00 for a Michael Kors top when it's thrown together with Alfani. Also, INC used to be the perfect place to find an outfit. What the heck?! Ugh. And, cosmetics...all of those sales people standing around...talking with each other...no way am I going to give my money to lazy people. Tired of companies letting their employees just mail it in. What a difference a couple of years make. When the Macys up the freeway in Laguna Hills closed a few years ago it was old and dated and it made sense to close since this one in Mission Viejo was much nicer at the time. Fast forward to today and this Macys (actually both of them and God only knows why they still have two stores in the same mall) makes the old dilapidated one that was in Laguna Hills look like a flagship. I understand that Covid and supply chain issues have caused problems but this store is an embarrassment. Other retailers either stock their stores or close them. It's so empty inside you feel like an idiot actually being there. You almost feel like you've broken in and you're the only one there or that they've closed for the day but just let people continue to wander around since nobody buys anything there anyway. They've had terrible customer service and hardly any employees working there for years now but, if you can believe it, it's even worse. And hire some employees that actually know retail and that can speak English without a nauseating accent. And that aren't rude. There's an occasional rack of clothes here and there but it's like they think by having no inventory and just spreading out the clothing and displays that it will be just like old times. Not so much. Do us all a favor and shut it down. It literally looks like what I would imagine a Goodwill store would look like. Nothing seems to be sorted by designer or style. I saw a lot of racks with a meaningless collection of random clothes. Dying store in a dying mall. Put it out of it's misery. Hopefully they'll close both stores after Christmas. read more

This review isn't about Macys per se, but the inane and scammy furniture insurance (worry no more) I was talked into getting when purchasing my couch. In fairness the associate who assisted me probably didn't know how scandalous their insurance is. I was assured that it covered pet, in addition to other types of damage. While I was away my foster dog got out and tried to eat my couch. I contacted Macys and was again assured that this would be covered by their protection policy. I put in my claim and Macys determined that the damage was due to normal wear and tear and happened over time. First, I have had the couch for two years so if it is normal wear and tear that doesn't say much about their furniture quality. Second, I do not chew on the covers or eat the stuffing. I would love to know how the claims reps came to this scholarly determination. Maybe many of their furniture customers have couch eating fetishes? When I checked their reviews and reports is seems like this is their standard response to claims. It is disturbing that Macys would be so corrupt by selling what is essentially a false insurance policy. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and any other relevant agencies in addition to filing a small claims case. Just a heads up to Macys jic anyone monitors these reviews, I have the text from my pet/house sitter from the day it happened evidencing that I do not sit around chewing on my couch. read more

Dirty store and rude staff. The women in the jewelry department had so much attitude it was ridiculous! They were talking to each other in Farsi in front of the us. I can only guess it was about us. The women who rang us up can't say helped us! Was in her 30's to 49's with a short bob hairstyle and is Persian ( as were most employees ) I have been a retail manager for over 30 years and had to walk away from her before I said something. So poor, the 800 customer number posted on their website is horrible and the email is just as bad. I purchased 2 dresses online and returned both via mail. I was only credited for one dress. I have spoke to 4 customer services reps and 5 reps via the email queue. All say we are so d sorry please way 5-7 business day for your credit. One even asked for my store receipt which is a joke since I said if was an online order. 11 contacts with costumer service and told now to wait 2 weeks for the credit. Funny how when you call in with a complaint you stop getting the prompt at the end to give a rating on their service. I'll never shop Macys again. All this work for $45 just ridiculous. read more

Back to shopping in Macys after trying all sorts of bargain online sites, and I am so glad to be back. The quality and selection are so reliable. Their app is much improved, though it's been really good for over a decade. This Macy's is a 2 part store. One section (men's, kids, furniture) is by the center of the mall, and the women's section is as far away from Nordstrom as possible. Both of these locations looked trapped in the 90s. They also both have that weird dusty mildew smell. They both have a mix of garbage brands and decent ones, and massive clearance sections you have to dig through for those crazy 70% off last call deals. If you are a bargain hunter, these are definitely worth looking through, albeit carefully. Some of the items are marked down for being damaged. If you're looking for a beautifully kept store, this isn't it. Looking for a nice item here, you'll be paying full price or trying to find treasure in a pile of rubbish. Don't be fooled by those coupons, because the items you want probably won't be covered. read more

We continued our Christmas shopping at Macy's men's department. I stopped at the men's slacks but I didn't find anything I liked. Then we moved on to the coats department. There was a 50% off sale on all men's coats and jackets. I tried some but they were too heavy for me. Then I tried some leather like jackets but they did not look good on me. Then I saw some DK&Y coats and tried one on it was perfect! A long winter coat with a removable hood. It could be buttoned or zipped. So Diana bought two coats. They were 50% off plus another 30% off. She also bought me Obsessions Men's Cologne. The total of the three items was less then what I paid for her purse! We both went home happy with our purchases. It's definitely not what it used to be. The entrance from the mall side looks so promising, but the store inside looks like something from the 80s, in 2020. Out of date and dirty, long forgotten, and hardly organized. There are some good deals to be had though, especially if you open a credit card account. Some employees are very present, others not so much. We had one item scanned twice, one completely missed, and a security tag left on a sweater. Luckily, when we noticed it all, we hadn't left the mall yet. And there are two Macy's here, one has menswear and the other women's. A bit of an inconvenience, but you get those steps in! Nevertheless, after a little back and forth between the two stores, we were able to get everything we needed for some upcoming birthday celebrations. read more

Macys used to be a fun place to shop. Now it's awful. No customer service. I went to buy a high end purse only to stand in line for 30minutes. The purse I wanted to buy came without any fabric bag. No wrapping or box was offered for my purchase. My Michael Kors bag was put in a plastic cheap Macys bag. The cashier had a heavy accent and didn't care that I was upset. When I went to pay, the cashier said she didn't have any change. I ended up going to the Michael Kors store and received amazing service and was given a brand new bag with a dust bag and wrapped in a beautiful box. Get it together Macys! You are understaffed and the staff you do have barely speak English and do not care about customer service. read more

The Mission Viejo store is an absolute mess. Central pay areas have all but disappeared. No clerks anywhere and merchandise is a MESS. Dressing rooms are dirty and unkempt. I use to shop here all the time, but over the last couple years it has really gone downhill. They have great sales and provide coupons for even more savings. They always have clearance racks as well for great deals. However, there is rarely anyone to help you. Customer service is not like it use to be. It took me several minutes to find someone to help me find an item. The lines are long at check out as well. They do not have enough people working on the floor. Clothing racks are often a mess. I wish it could go back to how it use to be. I miss the days when I would be asked by several people if they could help me. That never happens anymore. WORST online shopping experience ever. The customer service not only is horrible but they actually LIE about what they'll do for you. MULTIPLE times. I shopped online for a few (4) Christmas presents the week before Christmas and only bought what was in stock and would arrive before Christmas. I also paid extra to rush the items to be sure they would be delivered before Christmas. First I received a notice, TWO days later, that one of the items was out of stock--oops sorry! )-: Then when I checked on the delivery date for the remaining items, I discover that instead of being delivered December 22, they now are arriving December 27!!!! I called UPS to see if I could expedite the shipping and was told only Macy's could do that so they would have to call UPS. I called Macy's multiple times, gave them the number UPS told me to have them call, and someone how they just "couldn't get through the automated phone selections" to reach a live person--even though I was able to multiple times. And one of the Macy's agents actually lied to me and said she wasn't able to call UPS! WHY??? Then said, oops, I can call them but can't reach a live person! The last Macy's customer service agent --ROSE--told me she was making multiple notes into my file and that UPS was supposed to be reading them and would see that Macy's now wanted them to deliver my items overnight so they arrived on 12/23, 12/24, latest! I asked her if this was for sure and she said yes! Of course, they didn't arrive then. And I just got a notice today that now they items will arrive 12/26. What a horrible organization. I will NEVER shop at Macy's again, and wish I had read the many other awful reviews prior to doing so this time. read more

I do not want to give 1 stars. Macys Policy is very corrupt. In the month of December during the Christmas holidays, if you spend a certain amount they give you macys money. Now, if you choose or do not choose to use this macys money you will lose it somehow. If you decide to return even one item the day you got the macys money, you will not be returned the full amount, they will deduct based on how much macys money you got. If you do not pick up within three days of the product that arrived to the store, then they will cancel and refund, but if you used macys money for half the purchase you lose your macys money and if you return what you bought the day you received the macys money they deduct the macys money from the products price even though you paid from your debit card, credit card, or cash. So of course you will decide to keep it because why would you want to lose $20, $30, or $40 of your own money even if the clothes don't fit you still would keep it because you don't want to lose your own money. Macys policy is very clever for being a theft. I will never ever go back and shop at macys. There is a reason why they went bankrupt and their Irvine spectrum location closed. I rather take my business to Nordstrom. Another thing, when you apply for macys credit card that 20% doesn't apply the same day, it goes towards your next month's bill they send it to you the money the next month for you to use. That's ridiculous, You go and find a couple of things to buy and then they add you to sign up that day and you think you get the 20% that day towards tote purchase but no you do not so don't get tricked. It goes on your next months bill for you to use that 20%. They are trying to always bring you to the store for your next purchase without you even wanting to go there and shop. It's very corrupt system they have. They will do anything for your money and trick you in many ways to get your money. Trust me do not shop at macys not worth your time, energy, and money. I like to shop at honest stores, ones that would lie or trick me into a credit card or not explain to me how macys money works. When I bought perfume there, they didn't give me any samples or goodie bags. But then I see another girl getting it when she purchased it because she asked. So I went and asked too. How is someone supposed to know they have to ask for the samples and goodie bag when you buy the perfume. I thought I only get the perfume. the sellers or cashiers should give it and not be so greedy. Maybe they don't give it to all customers so they can either save them or keep them to themselves. Nancy Ayad said our furniture would be delivered assembled . It came in many pieces 100's now it's taking up our living room. They cannot pick up the furniture in pieces for a week. The organization of the Mens suit department in Mission Viejo is total crap. Jackets brands were mixed, sizes weren't identified on the hangers or were wrong. I had to look at every jacket sleeve to see the size and an hour + later only to find you didn't have my size. You should go to the Riverside Galleria to see how things are properly done. Macy's is interesting, it's nowhere near as nice as it used to be. Although I found a bunch of clothes on sale here , the sales floor and dressing rooms and bathrooms were very dirty. I presume it's due to staffing shortages. They do have a nice selection of formal gowns, and for reasonable prices! Their return policy was a bit unique as after going back and forth, they allowed me to return an item w/o receipt but that I had (unattached) tags for, I even found the item on the floor as they were still selling it. If you are interested you're purchasing an item from Macy's, keep the receipt and the tags attached as it will save you a lot of headache! read more

I'm probably one of the only women that HATES shopping. Back in the 70's and early 80's department stores were a luxurious experience. Everything was bright clean and the store had more employees on the floor then people in the store. I would go with my grandma to Sears. Believe or not Sears was the place to shop. They had their own candy store and great shoes. My grandma would buy me several pairs every time we went there. The employee who was helping stayed with you till you were done. It was such a great time for us. My grandparents would get us chocolate covered cherries in clear liquid. Just great memories. 2017!! What has happened to the malls??? It's a hustle & bustle no one makes eye contact unless their jumping out of one of the kiosks. They shove things in your face and sometimes scare me. Sure I want that weird soap - straightener - emoji slippers. My goodness - I literally walk close to the walls but then the tea people jump out too. I literally plan my route to not be bothered. Now if your in Louis Vuitton store that's a different story. Sadly they send me cards and special texts asking how I'm doing. Is that a good sign? Reality in 2017. No one cares and even Nordstrom's has been slacking off. I walked into Macy's with no one in sight not even another shopper. My friend was shopping (I'm only there waiting for a free lunch at Cheese Cake Factory) LOL but true. So as we walk around in the abyss I start to play around. First trying to scar my friend then messing around with mannikins and displays. No one around it was fun for a hot second. Then I was forced to go and sit by the dressing rooms. Blah blah blah. Now I'm being forced to be an adult. Why???‍. The fun begins - where's Waldo/cashier??? Not high nor low not there or here, what's one to do? Omg we caught one. now we find the other 8 shoppers all in one line and another employee playing with hangers and not ringing up anyone. Why is this? I've been seeing less and less customer service then ever. Started to have the items wrong in and this is the best, at the end of this now 45 minute fun line my friend puts down some coupon for each item. Some worked some it had to be bought on Sunday only. A few coupons could only be used when you open a store credit card. As I try to slide right I'm caught. Calgon take me away. As we walked out 2 hours later to get 4 shirts I just wanted to go home. I have always loved shopping at Macy's homestore. But not anymore, because knowingly or unknowingly the mattress department is running a bait and switch scam. The mattresses in the showroom are high quality with very good labor day prices. However, the second delivery and the same mattress (firm King Koil) over $2600 is delivered with soft damaged edges with absolutely no support there or in the body of the mattress. read more

Dezi within sunglass hut inside of Macy's was outstanding like beyond the shooting stars my boyfriend and I walked in there hoping to pick up one pair but we walked out with Two pairs after trying on at least 49 pairs seriously and he never once komplained he was always giving his honest opinion and we agreed a lot on the same choices so that was awesome :)! And he is great with choosing quality! We also know he had to sanitize all of them but never once did he gasp for Air!! This review is for Macy's Men Shoes Department for 5/27 afternoon. My hubby was browsing and found a pair of tennis shoes he liked. There were two associates (girl and guy) talking at the cashier who were just ignoring us... until their manager walked by and told them to assist us. So we buy a pair, get home--only to realize the girl sold us a pair with different sizes! Had to drive back to get the SAME size pair. Get to work, guys! read more
