Upon walking in Mike asked me what I was looking for, what event it was for, and if I had a color in mind. The first suit he grabbed looked incredible but I didn't know if it would fit because we had not done any measurements yet. To my suprise the jacket was a perfect fit, and he doubled down by grabbing a shirt that was also a perfect fit for arm length, chest, and neck. We had not talked price yet so I assumed this is where the "gotcha" moment would come in, but I was wrong. Skip Macy's, MW, and Friar Tux. This is the place to get a suit. I used to come into MAX when I worked sales at the Mission Viejo mall. The owner, Mike, is a really nice guy and he knows his business well. You don't find a lot of shops with this level of personal attention. The store has all kinds of cool and unique shirt designs and his suits are extremely well-priced. My fiancee (who sold men's suits for 8 years) was astonished at the prices and was very impressed with Mike's ability to accurately size me up just by looking at me. As you may have guessed by now, I returned to MAX for my wedding suit and those for my groomsmen as well. We decided on a very nice blue color that was just a bit brighter and more vibrant than Navy blue. My groomsmen and I looked great and we were showered in compliments on the wedding day. I can't speak highly enough of this store and the proprietor, Mike. He absolutely knows his stuff; just by eyeballing someone he can assess what would look best on them, and he (in our case) unfailingly recommended the most flattering pieces for our groomsmen and the man of honor. Not only that, but his employees work incredibly quickly on alterations, often getting the simple ones done in less than 20 minutes. I insisted on my man of honor getting his suit here, and he got a simple but snappy combo of jacket, pants, and shirt, but also got a fantastic tie, belt, and pocket square to go with them. He looked great, and so did all of my new husband(!)'s groomsmen. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Especially for the deal they have: $139 for a simple suit. So much better than renting!
