Everything is priced very well (probably lower than at most stores with the same quality). Good selections of a full outfit (belt, suit, vest, ties, shoes, pants) at an affordable price. If i had to complain: the two fitting rooms are small, and a skinny mirror is outside the fitting room. read more

There was something Mike did that made me trust him and it was when I told him that I would be getting a suit to basically wear once he listened then steered me away from the more expensive suits. Bottom Line Up Front: I've been going to Michael's shop for many years... before he relocated to the Mission Viejo Mall. Even after all of this time, Michael still provides the best suits for the price. He has multiple lines and styles that can suit your budget and tastes. Michael will absolutely give you great customer service, even if he is busy. Customer Service: I purposely put this first because it is Michael's hallmark. Michael is super friendly, very accommodating, and will do his best to help you. I am able to say this because I once waited in line to purchase my items. During that time, I was able to observe these qualities in Michael. Suit and Tie Quality: All Italian made. You can pick your selection of suits that are of various "Super" quality. IE: Super 150, Super 140, etc wool suits. These are not cheap feeling suits. They all have a nice high quality wool feel. The suits, as wool goes, will let you stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Michael also has various selections of silk ties or bow ties to suit your needs and tastes. Price Point: I feel this is Michael's strongest pitch. He sells quality Italian suits, despite the names not being easily recognizable, which just have that high quality feeling. The point is not the name, but the quality of the materials. You can really feel the difference in the fabric. Here is something to consider -- why rent a cheap/worn out tuxedo for your formal event, if it would cost you nearly the same to buy a high quality Italian made tuxedo? Just chew on that for a minute. People can spot if you are wearing a cheap/worn out rental suit. And after 1-2 wears, you will have already recovered your cost of renting a tux. read more

Can't say enough about this place. I visited this store right before closing. The owner took one look at me and walked over to the suit jackets, walked back and put on a black jacket that fit me as if it was tailored for me. I purchased the jacket on the spot because it felt like it was too good to be true. The experience was so easy and pleasant that on my way out I asked about their other suits they have because I had a feeling I would be returning there. I was shown a black wool suit. The owner had me try it on and it was definitely an upgrade from the one I had just purchased. The material was amazing, it was cooler, and had a more slim fit. I left the mall that night obsessing about the black wool suit and this morning I returned when the mall opened and asked to exchange my black jacket for the black wool suit haha. The owner was understanding and made this process as easy as possible. I was fitted for the new suit and I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. They have a pretty cool customer service policy in there. He had a smile on his face and said we never push the customer or try to up sell anyone. These reviews are right on the money; I went in because I needed a tux outfit; the tux jacket fit right off the rack and the pants needed to be tailored in the legs (I'm short, this is expected.) What I didn't expect was the awesome selection of Italian shirts. Then I wound up buying another suit. And a pair of shoes. And another few ties, and another bowtie/kerchief set. I wound up with: 1 tux jacket and slacks 1 tuxedo shirt which included the black bowtie 1 navy suit 2 slacks in black, charcoal 5 designer shirts that remind me of Robert Graham; they are beautiful 1 beautiful designer bowtie set with matching kerchief 2 neckties to match shirts (they threw in one tie for free) 2 braces (suspenders) to match suit and tuxedo 1 pair of black tux shoes 1 belt All for $695 out the door including tailoring. This is what I'd be paying for one suit at Nordstrom's (conservatively). The service is excellent, and they went out of their way to make sure the cut was right for my corpulent body. I won't say there aren't higher quality suits or accessories out there, but given that these look great and fashion changes I think you may just be foolish buying suits anywhere else. I was with my Son at Shops at Mission Viejo looking for a suit to wear to an upcoming Wedding. We tried Macy's but the one he wanted was no longer available and every suit there was around $300-$600. We just happened to walk by Max and decided to stop in and I am so happy we did! My Son got a beautiful suit, shirt, tie and pocket square for just under $200. I can't say enough about how great Mike is! He took the time to not only fit the suit properly but explained every detail and also styled the shirt and tie combo beautifully. I found this store on yelp while reviewing Men's Wearhouse. The numerous negative reviews of MW had me concerned. Max was in the "people also viewed" side bar. I read all the reviews, and they were all not only positive but pretty much glowing. Still wasn't positive I'd have a great experience. I hate shopping for anything in general, but I decided to give it a look anyway. When I walked in, the man running the store was helping another customer at the register. His name is Mike. When he acknowledged me shortly after walking in, I asked where the suits that were on sale were and he walked over and showed me the specific rack and said, "You are 44 Long." Without even measuring me, he knew my size, and was correct. He then said, "I show you the suits, then I leave you alone." Perfect. I hate helicopter sales people. I looked at several suits while he helped the other customer. The other customer was haggling with him over the price and being really annoying about it. Mike remained cool and worked with them. I looked at a vest and he stopped with the other customers, and showed me the vests, before going back to the other customer at the register. When the other customers were finally satisfied and left, Mike helped me. My visit to the store took longer than I wanted it to, but that was because I was being treated so well. He helped me pick out two suits, two shirts, ties and a belt as part of their current special. He sold me on a shirt/tie color combination that I wouldn't have otherwise considered. I'm looking forward to wearing it. He rang me up and because I bought some extra items, he gave me a discount on them. He then fitted the suit pants and told me the tailoring would be done on them in two days. He's a VERY knowledgeable fellow, very friendly and very customer oriented. I cannot recommend this store highly enough. If you need a less-expensive suit. This has to be your first stop. I heard about MAX from my cousin who need a new suit. I needed a black sport coat and shirt so I decided to go with him. We walked around Macy's for 20 minutes or so before going to MAX & didn't find anything (I'm a bigger guy). I walked in and asked Mike if they had larger sizes and after telling him a 50L jacket was snug, he pulled one off the rack that fit perfectly. Then he told me about the deal they were doing: sport coat, pants, shirt, tie and belt for $140. He helped my pick everything out, again mostly by eyeballing me and getting it perfect. He measured my neck just to make sure he had gotten the right size shirt (he did). After all was said and done, I got a nice, brand new suit with alterations to the pants (they have an on-site tailor) for about $170 and my cousin got the same thing as me plus an additional shirt and tie for about $220. Normally, I shop at 3 Day Suit Broker when I need to get a decent quality, inexpensive suit. I stopped by Max over the weekend with my girlfriend, and saw a pretty good deal - a suit, shirt, tie, and belt for $140. Although the price was a little bit higher than 3 Day Suit Broker, it was worth it. The suit is much better in quality compared to those in the same price range elsewhere. They have a large selection of suits, shirts, ties, suspenders, and all of the other accessories you would need to go with your purchase. A huge selling point here was the service. I was helped out by Mike, who absolutely knew his stuff. He didn't measure me at all, but pulled all the correct items just by glance - he grabs a 40L slim fit suit without me saying anything and it fit perfectly. For the shirt, he didn't even ask, and brought a 16 1/2 by 33 sleeve shirt (my size, spot on). The dude knows what he is doing. He was very professional and cordial, and I walked away a happy customer. The most impressive part of this experience was how fast and efficient it was - I was in and out in literally 10 minutes. You don't find this level of quality service anywhere, and you don't get in and out without feeling buyer's remorse. None of that here, because Mike really knows his stuff. I can't say it enough. Picked up my purchase the next day after getting the pants hemmed. I'm a fan, and I'll be back here instead of going to one of the major chains. read more

A large sign said "suit plus shirt plus tie for $139". It turns out, it's on ANY suit in the entire store. Within 20 minutes, Mike helped me pick out a beautiful charcoal gray suit, and several shirts and ties. He has an on-site tailor who adjusted the pants on the spot for $6, and I'm good to go. I was looking for a good spot to get my suit for my wedding coming up in June, and my 5 groomsmen needed suits too.
