I have not been to Burlington in several years and I was shocked by how much product this store can carry! Upon entering, you'll see a guard in a bullet proof vest (somewhat ominous). He lifted the ropes to let us in, as if we were entering an exclusive night club. Once inside the store, the first thing I saw was a giant Santa statue and a great Christmas decoration display. Then, I saw rows and rows filled with clothes and various products. This felt like the perfect place to go to find a gift for someone. I'm not sure this is where I'd shop for myself necessarily. It's a bargain type store and if you hunt well enough, you're bound to find something. My negatives were that I never could find an employee in the store (other than the security guard or at cash register area). The music was a bit loud for me and would be interrupted by commercials. Overall, if you are in need of nearly anything, Burlington probably has it. They have clothes for all ages, accessories, toiletries and much much more! read more

Stopped in to Burlington Coat Factory in Mission Viejo after our dinner out to do a bit of Christmas shopping. The store is well stocked and the staff quite friendly and helpful. We found a few items on our shopping list and the prices and quality were perfect. We even picked up some gift wrap bags etc. The store was clean and the overall experience was positive. One note I would make is that the parking lot needs additional lighting as it would be much safer for shoppers once the sun goes down as it can be potentially unsafe. read more

Go to a different retail store this one is a joke. There's always a first for everything I suppose. Every Burlington I've gone to does not feel like a prison . This one does they have a black retractable belt like you're waiting to be let into a cage before a guard says you can come in. Even in the low income community they don't have this, been to Wilmington and Compton Burlington they treat their customers way better than this. Mission Viejo team is dragging this business to the ground, terrible operations manager why would they put a policy like this in place. There's not even a single good find in this place, disorganized and constructed like a prison escape. The workers look unhappy to be there. It is very unpleasant going into this store because they have blocked off the entrance and make you stand in front of a camera, before letting you go in. It is like have your mug shot taken. However, they have no one monitoring the changing rooms. The thieves can just take what they won't and walk out the door! It is very uncomfortable and an insult, being treated like a criminal when you walk in. I will avoid this place! read more

I had one of the most unpleasant checkout experiences today at 12:30 pm at this Burlington with a female with white hair. The cashier Shahnaz acted completely uninterested in doing her job. no greeting, no acknowledgment, nothing. She completely looked miserable and was rude for NO reason which immediately made the whole interaction uncomfortable. read more

As many others have said, this location has taken a major nose dive in the past few years. If you don't know, Burlington Coat Factory used to specialize in overcoats, jackets etc.. then they expanded to clothes and kitchen items. Today it has become a store full of rejected merchandise from other discount stores... if you are looking for a monkey in a spaceship snow globe then this is the place for you. All kidding aside, this store is just nasty. You can have a store of discount merchandise but it doesn't have to be messy and the service doesn't have to be poor. The second floor is closed but we don't know if that is permanent or if they are remodeling up there. I won't ever be back so guess I will never know. read more

I headed out to buy a set of luggage. I was stopped at the door for a security check before I could enter. There was nobody else in the store. I tried to buy luggage, but every piece of luggage was locked. I asked how I could purchase something I couldn't see inside and they said I would just need to take each piece across the store to the cashier if I wanted to look inside. after to visit target which has always been my favorite. read more

Beware of this location we stopped by yesterday to buy my daughters a change of clothes after going to the beach. When I had to check out. I went to the counter and something was up with the credit card machine. It wouldn't except a tap so I had insert my card. Into the machine and today I have about $700 in Ticketmaster charges that I did not authorize. It was the only place I use that Pacific card in the last two weeks. I frequently come here, I love Burlington but today completely changed that for me. New dressing rooms were placed in store, someone working has to open up the rooms for you to try on the item. Anyways I asked 4 different workers and a cashier and no one was able to help me. I was so desperate that I was just going to undress in the hallway of where the bathroom was and obviously buy the item if it fit. Well of course the women's bathroom door opens and I'm faced with nasty attitude from who I believe is the manager of the store. Women in glasses, dirty blonde hair, pony tail. Extremely rude attitude and customer service. How hard is it to manage a store and open a fitting room for someone who comes so frequently that even gets recognized by some of the cashier ladies. I hope this manager gets trained on better customer service and respect because I will NEVER step foot in this Burlington ever again until she is FIRED! read more

This Burlington is the absolute worst. I'm a hello kitty collector and was recently looking for the Halloween blankets there. A customer only got one and she was shoving through me while holding a baby, and the employees bought the rest. Every time I call I am always polite when I ask if they have hello kitty stuff and they are always just so rude and say "no we don't have it" in such a condescending tone. I'm tired of workers taking all of the good hello kitty items and not letting customers get anything. Terrible store and these employees should be fired. read more

Ehhh... I guess it can be a hit or a miss? Unfortunately, it's been more of a miss lately. I used to really like the shoe section here... and have been able to find good activewear (at the Huntington Beach location)... I haven't found any appeal deals or things that I've liked at this particular location though. I might come back if I'm looking for PJs in the future (they had some cute ones, just not my size). This store has the WORST customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. My mother and I came stopped by tonight on 06/09/24 around 6pm to purchase some clothes and encountered the WORST customer service ever! From our experience this evening, both the cashier and store manager, Chel L. were completely incompetent, racist and condescending. First the cashier could not even make a return even after I gave her a receipt and my phone number to look up my information. I could tell that she was clearly struggling pushing the buttons on the register and couldn't do the return so I asked her to call the store manager for help with the transaction. However, she refused to call the store manager to the front, telling me that there was only one store manager available and she "will not call her". After that, I said "why wouldn't you call her even when a paying customer is asking you to and said I wanted to speak to the store manager?" She continued to say, "no, I will not call her." I then had to go ask the security guy to call the store manager for me and he promptly did the right thing and called her to the front of the store. When the store manager came to the register, she took over the transaction and was able to make the return using my phone number. However, I have to emphasize that she had the worst attitude towards me. Right from the start, the manager was very rude, snappy and displayed a horrific attitude. She even said to me, "don't you start with me" when I tried to give her my phone number and explain what had happened. I said I given the cashier my phone number multiple times but she couldn't do the return. In the end, I did not want to argue with her and just wanted her to finish up my transactions since it was taking an incredibly long time already. Neither of them offered an apology and even started talking behind my back when my mother and I was walking out of the store. I am left with no other choice but to file a formal complaint to the corporate office based on our horrific experience tonight and these two individual's disgusting behavior. They should both be fired for mistreating their loyal, long time customers in such a horrible way. As an Asian American born and raised in this country, I have never experienced such terrible racist and disgusting behavior from anyone and honestly feel that both the manager and cashier were clearly racist and for some reason they felt entitled to act in such a disgusting way. Their behavior is a disgrace and appalling. They should not be working in a retail store interacting with paying customers who has done nothing wrong to be mistreated in such a way as they treated us. Unless these individuals get punished for their behavior or better yet fired from their positions, I'm afraid other customers of different races will suffer. It's sad to see Burlington hire such disgusting and unprofessional people on their staff. read more

This store used to be a great place to shop in the 2000s to about 2015 with quality name brands (Nine West, Anne Klein, etc) clothing that was neatly folded and/or on nice hangers. I used to buy my coats & sweaters every winter from here. There was a tremendous amount of merchandise (earrings, shoes, coats, clothes, handbags/wallets, kitchen & household items, luggage,etc) on both floors. Within the past few years it has been going downhill pretty bad. Today was my last visit... the store carries a bunch of cheap, ugly clothing! You can probably find better quality at thrift stores. The appearance is bad, a mess everywhere! Why does the City of Mission Viejo allow such a run down business to operate in this area? ATTN: Burlington Coat Factory Corporate Offices... you need your visit this store and make major improvements, rescue this store! read more

This place is located across from the tea place on the road behind the Shops at Mission Viejo and close to the Saddleback College. Parking was plentiful. There was a lot of stuff there and they had a second floor. However they were out of big butt sizes and there didn't seem to be a clearance section. We decided not to get anything since we couldn't find anything for our big butts. read more

They have an endless selection of clothing and accessories for the home and this is one of their best locations! Not as busy as others, so you can avoid the long lines at check out. They have great men's and children's clothing at affordable prices as well as shoes. Not a huge fan of the women's clothing, but everyone else in the family is covered. read more

SERIOUSLY, Unsure why going out of business signs are not posted all over this place. The merchandise is down to almost nothing! Don't waste your time coming out to this location as only junk is left of the shelves. I wish I had taken pictures its so bad inside and empty of almost anything that has real value. I can't believe it's been more than ten years since the last time I visited a Burlington store! I've got to say that I'm quite favorably impressed with the changes I see - this store is now chock full of shoes, home goods, designer clothes, and LOTS of other merchandise. The merchandise here reminds me of what you'll find at TJ Maxx more than anyplace else :-) On my first visit to this location, I found a pair of Adidas originals for less than twenty bucks! I look forward to returning soon. read more

Never been to a BCF before. There isn't one around the corner. My BFF told me to check it out as I was looking for a coat and she said they have a good selection there. Well, I googled and found that the closest one was here so I came and boy, it was a good sized store. I was surprised that they carried some pretty good name brands too. This place is separated into two floors, and they also have an extensive baby center with cribs and everything you would need to prepare for that new addition to the family. Their coat selection was indeed huge, but they were like heavy heavy coats for NYC weather. I only wanted a light coat, so I ended up not buying a coat from here, but I found some seriously cute winter gear like hats, gloves, scarves and also a great pair of boots, cheap. Nice store for those interested in finding a great bargain. As far as bargain stores go, this is 4 stars! Everything was laid out neat and tidy although some of the aisles are slightly cramped and hard to maneuver your cart around. Otherwise, it's all good. read more

I have spent hundreds of dollars at various Burlington Coat Factory locations. Usually, I don't return things. However, I bought a fragrance set and did not notice it was damaged until I got home. Apparently, the clerk didn't either as she didn't alert me the set was damaged and incomplete. There was a flaw in the cosmetic bag and the perfume rollerball was missing. At first glance it was not easy to spot. I tried to return the set with receipt in hand to the Mission Viejo location as that is closest to where I live. The manager refused to accept the return as it had a missing piece...though I bought it that way! I was instructed to go back to the Huntington Beach store. I was told that perhaps the salesperson will recall selling a set with a missing piece. I have sent an email to the corporate office, as I think this is very poor customer service. I should not have to drive back to the store hoping they will remember selling me a set with a missing item when they didn't notice it in the first place. I am very disappointed and will not be spending my money at Burlington Coat Factory in the future.. read more

Rudest staff ever! My husband went to purchase a crib, he asked a staff member if thy had one in stock, her reply "it's right there in front of you!". He said "well this is a the display, do you have it in stock to purchase?" Her response again "that one"...so he said "there's a large wooden sign screwed into the front of it that clearly reads "for display only!!!not for sale. So you're going to sell it anyways?" Her response, "oh I'll have someone check" 20 minutes later no one comes, he finds a manager and asks her for help with cribs and she just keeps walking away from him. Over an hour in this store and everyone was rude and disrespectful. Never getting my business again, Happy Holidays (yah right). Hope corporate gets better staffing in place. read more

I have never been more pissed off at an establishment in all of my yelping days. I walk into the store and get 0 greetings from the staff. I finally find an employee and ask if they had my measurements for a new dress jacket I'll be needing for an expensive restaurant. She looked at me like I was from another planet. After examining my measurements (that I brought on a card for convenience) for about 20 minutes, she finally started reluctantly started rummaging through the coats. She would not help me into any of the coats, she merely pointed to them as she went along saying the sizes in some barely understandable paki accent. She had pointed out 4 by the time I was trying on one. There was one point where I was taking off my coat and a 3-4 second period passed where I expected her to take the coat from me but she just stared, I ended up having to lay it on the rack as she began to balance it from falling with her hand....very lazy. After I found out that their $100-200 coats were too small for me (I put a 52 on and it was still too small as I have broad shoulders, 6'2 287, weight lifter). I then asked her if they carried any trench coats. She answered "What is trench...coat...". I had to look up an image of a long trench coat on my IPhone 4 (which amazed her for some reason) and show her what I meant. Her response: "Ooooo, they up there", and she points up to the next floor. I then ask where the hats are, and I get "Over there", another vague finger pointing into a sea of clothes, jackets, and other assortments that I don't think anyone would ever be caught dead wearing. None of their hats fit my head. I have a very large head and even their largest hats were too small. I went upstairs and spotted what I thought was another employee, but before I could ask for help she quickly broke eye contact with me, and before I could get a word out she dashed as fast as she could down the escalator. I asked another woman who looked foreign if she worked there, she stood staring for 5 minutes before realizing and said no. We shall never know if she actually was an employee or not, however, she had a cart full of about 50 non-tagged pieces of clothing, I doubt she was a customer. They only really had 3-4 "long trench coats" of my liking and all of them were way too small. It seemed like the place was staffed by foreigners and foreigners were mostly their biggest customer-base. I felt like I was at some type of homeless shelter that was giving away cheap clothes. Finally, fed up with what seemed to be a completely abandoned store, I walked to the front, where both cashiers made 0 eye contact. I stood in line with nothing in my hands and finally an employee came up. I asked if they had anymore trench coats than what had been put on display on the floor. This employee then summons a manager that looked like a foul old troll of a woman who looked like she just got done marinating in rat piss. She angrily walked up and said in a very stern voice as if I had just asked for the heart of her firstborn child "NO, it's all we have", and twirled around without another word to walk off. I thought I heard them complaining under their breath as I walked out. I honestly think this establishment would be put to better use as firewood, and it's staff better use as construction workers to build a center for the education of workplace etiquette and proper English. With a Western name like "Burlington" you'd expect an ounce of competence, but this diverse melting pot of a staff turned out to be a bed pan of disappointment. You're better off going Kohl's for a gamble on your clothes, or even Good Will. I'd only recommend this place at the cost of receiving an eternity of bad karma. read more

I would give this Burlington Coat Factory 3.5 stars. I stopped by yesterday looking for a winter coat and the selection was amazing. I'm a size 2, which means I can almost never find my size (even at department stores). I bought a size 2 Calvin Klein wool coat for $100. The coats were fairly organized (ie the size small coats are in the "small section"). They also had Guess, Anne Klein and Jones New York coats (and in plenty of sizes). Be sure to check all the racks to find what you want. I also scored a fabulous Jones New York umbrella (been looking everywhere for one) for $8. While they have a great selection of coats, there shoe selection is not as good as the selection at the Huntington Beach store. read more

Next to Marshall's I also love Burlington Coat Factory. this location I saw right off the fwy. I stopped here for the first time a week ago. It's a small store compared to most Burlington's. I did find some earrings (as always) Guess brand. Also, I found a real cute bikini for only $ 10 bucks. But, other than that I couldn't find anything else for me. This place is such a gem to find some great pieces for your wardrobe, without breaking the bank. The selection is amazing. I've purchased casual and formal wear here. Housewares are great too. I love the thrill of the hunt in this store. The staff has always been very friendly. I'm never disappointed in this store. Love BCF! They have an amazing baby/children's section... Baby Depot! You can find anything from pacifiers to cribs and the prices are better than anywhere else for new items. The clothing is priced very well and they have some things that you won't find elsewhere. (specialty baby items that you didn't know you needed) Also, they have a fabulous selection of children's books for super cheap, love that! I docked one star because, I did buy some bedding there, which is also priced fabulously, (cal king for $50.00) and it did rip fairly easily. I think that I would try again though. It's the designer look for MUCH less than department stores. Check it out! They have great things that you would never expect to find! read more
