The prices are competitive, the quality is generally great, and the bulk savings make it an excellent place to stock up on everyday essentials. This is for the tires sales service. If I could do negative stars I would because this was my first timing using Costco tire center and they left the worst impression. I made an appointment at opening time. I was number 2 and was told that it's about an 1 hour to an 1 hour and a half. 2 hours has passed. I was sitting outside and the front desk staff noticed me. She asked about my car and the color. Then tells me that my car needs a pin to drive so I gave it to her. 30 mins later one of the mechanics asked me about a Tesla and confused it with my own. (I know every Tesla looks the same but I didn't go to the Irvine location because that would be a nightmare lol) I told him I already told the staff the pin and color. He then proceeds to say "You are the reason we can't work on the car, you didn't give the pin." Very inappropriate and not professional at all. This place replaces Tesla tires all the time and I gave you my number. Maybe call me instead of just skipping my car multiple times. Yes I forgot to give the pin but it's an everyday thing that I do that makes it easy to forget. But rude butthole blames the consumer and tells you it's your fault. It doesn't take higher brain function to call me. Here they are disorganized robots here to replace tires and that's all. If that's what you want, go ahead. Let me tell you what you need to do. Go to a different tire shop that can do a wheel alignment. There you can get the tires and wheels aligned done at one location. Yes you save money going to Costco but it actually isn't much especially if you need to get your tires aligned. read more

The staffs are not helpful at all. I have my Costco gift card (yes, Costco gift card!) and I cannot even use it! First time the reason was because it needed 24 hours to load. Second time was my Costco card was scanned first and it did not take the gift card. The cashier told me that the Gift Card needed to be scanned first and they didn't want to scan my cart again! What??? I will not go to this location any more! I will try the next one on Heather Ridge. Even though it's further but the staffs over there are way more friendly and helpful! read more

This Costco is huge. It's right off the 5 Freeway exit so it is extremely busy and it's jam packed on the weekends. Every single department is larger than any other Costco I've been to. Especially the bakery and the produce department. read more

Goldstar member here. Apparently since I'm not an executive member I cannot get my glasses adjusted even though they're open. But they're only open to the other memberships apparently at 9 AM. Guess it's something new. So perhaps I can't get some food from the food court ? Nope! Because have to wait until 10 AM for that as well. Maybe Senior citizens could get in? Nope unless they have the executive membership ! But I am happy to say, that I was able to go to the tire department before 10 o'clock and they were really cool and helpful. read more

Previous reviews were correct about the customer service at this store. I was standing in line to pay. It was only one person ahead of me. Jeff Q. who was standing at the next cash register saw me and said " are you just gonna stand there?" There was no line where he was, but I really thought it was a closed register, this was early in the morning, not busy at all. I was shocked he was talking to me in that tone of voice, and then he said, "you can stand there if you want, it's ok with me". All I could say was "I didn't know you were open". So he rang me up, I paid and then I had to put my stuff back in the shopping cart. Other Costco stores that I've been to will put my groceries back in the basket. I went to Costco over the weekend with my dad after he invited me to come. I don't go to Costco that often so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to see what they have to offer. We pulled in and it was super busy but it was expected on a Saturday. We walked in and there were so many people inside. One thing that my dad and I had fun doing while inside was looking at all the ingredients on the food. We were both surprised to see that some of the food we consider healthy, are packed with sugars and artificial crap. We made our way around adding things to our cart that he had on the list. It didn't help that I was tagging along because he offered to get anything I wanted. I didn't want to be greedy so I only picked a few options for work snacks/lunches. I have probably only returned 2 items ever and I bought a $399.99 razor for my son online and it didn't work well so I brought it back and Nick was so helpful giving me recommendations and making me feel comfortable because I do not like to return. This Costco is amazing . Two weeks ago, I bought a bag of bagels but I didn't know it was 2 for $7. As I was checking out, they said I can get another bagel but I was too tired and my feet were hurting after shopping for an hour. I told them, "No, thank you. I'm tired and my feet hurt to grab another bag." Without any complaints, they sent someone to grab the 2nd one for me. No fuss, no complaints, no eye rolling, and still went the extra mile to make my day easier. They even apologized even though my wait time was less than 5 minutes. This review is for the hearing center inside Costco off of Cabot. I worked with Jazmin. She is very knowledgeable and professional. Costco carries the name brand hearing aids you find in a audiology office but under a different name, made by the same manufacturer. You are able to try the hearing aid while in the store before purchasing. The free hearing test they give you is so much better than what the doctors' offices offer. The only difference is it is done with a computer. The benefits of purchasing a hearing aid from Costco is so much better than what audiologist offices offer for more than half off the price. The only thing about Costco is there was no Doctor of Audiology at the store when I was there but if you had a hearing test with the results, and know pretty much what you want, you don't need to speak to one. It does take a little longer to receive the hearing aid from Costco than if you went to a doctor's office. The hearing instrument specialists are pretty knowledgeable, but it depends on who you get. For me, Jazmin at the Costco Cabot Road location is the best to work with. She is patient and I trust her judgment. Her experience shows. read more

I believe this review is past due. The positives Maria, Jose, and Nick at Customer and Membership Services have consistently been upstanding. Kim by the member entrance is also great! They are the kind of people I think of when I think of Costco as a brand. All four have remained friendly and left a lasting, positive impression, especially given my experience within the retail industry. They clearly represent the best of Costco's customer-oriented ethos. The negatives Over time, I have encountered rude behavior, poor active listening, and what felt like a lack of ADA guideline training among some staff. A particularly troubling incident involved a manager, Stephen, who berated me in front of other customers. I left items in the cart with all bar codes up, and he insisted I needed to unload the car except for bulk items, claiming it was Costco Policy. I explained that I normally shop this way and had never been informed of such a policy, but now I knew better. He repeated the instruction several times, and by the fourth, I asked him to stop, noting I had heard him the first and second time, and even had acknowledged that I had never heard it before. Yet, he did it twice more. I reminded him I've been shopping here for six years and this has never been a problem. He asked who the other employees were in order to determine non-compliance employees and fired them. I declined to name them to avoid pulling colleagues into something I viewed as insignificant. The encounter left me feeling humiliated and berated. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and ignore it, but it left a lasting negative impression about poor management. The ADA and service-dog incident (recent) Today, I went shopping with my psychiatric service dog in a sling and was denied entry by Ali. Ali claimed service dogs must be leashed, on the ground, and wearing a service-dog vest stating "service dog." I asked him to familiarize himself with the ADA guidelines, as this is incorrect. He insisted he had and that my description of my rights were not true. I explained that under the ADA, I'm allowed to be asked only two qualifying questions about the service dog, and I confirmed that my dog is a service dog. Ali replied that he had asked me one of the permissible questions and that he wasn't violating my rights. I reiterated that he was as she is a service dog and I'm allowed to enter, and he was denying access. Ali's response was a flat denial and he pressed the intercom to summon a manager. I tried to reason with Ali to no avail. He then said he wasn't going to discuss this anymore and that it was up to the manager to decide. Angela entered the room and assured me it was okay to go in and asked not to put the dog "in the basket." I clarified that my dog has never been in the basket. My anxiety rose , and I entered a full panic attack while trying to reference ADA rights on my phone. As I'm trying to walk out to ground myself - I hear Angela talking to Rudy about it and then turning around and pointing out to Rudy that I am the person in question. I have my phone in my hand and am trying to show and tell Rudy my rights. Rudy says he already talked to Ali about it and I lost it! I called Ali a "dumb ass" because he didn't know what he was doing or what he was talking about. Rudy told me not to call Ali that and I double down in my statement. I do apologize for my harsh and insensitive language. Rudy has one good redeeming quality: he stood up for his employee! Regardless of this, I am still holding management accountable for not properly training staff on ADA guidelines, de-escalation, and respectful handling of guests with service animals. wholeheartedly know I was wrong for doing this, and I'm very sorry for calling Ali names! Rudy also told me the dog could not be in the shopping cart a few times. I explained that she had never been in the cart, and I showed the ADA guidelines, but I was already in a highly distressed state (PTSD episode) at that moment. I asked Rudy if there was a place I could go, as I was overwhelmed and having a panic episode. Rudy asked Kim if there was a place in the back I could go. Kim took me to the back where I could ground myself with my dog. Rudy and Kim offered me a chair and water. Kim was kind, offering tissues and trying to help. She commented on how calm my dog was, to which I wanted to replied that she's working, so of course she's calm. Once I started to feel grounded, I began to apologized to Kim profusely and she was very understanding and compassionate. I will forever be grateful for Kim's kindness during a difficult moment in my life. As I attempt to fully ground myself, I notice I can't because it's too loud. I get up from the floor and thank Kim before exiting. As I was leaving, Ali is speaking with another employee and pointed to me, saying, "that's her," effectively identifying me to the other staff member; which heightened my distress during an already difficult episode. read more

Had to drive to this Costco because it was right by the freeway to San Diego. Coming here it looked pretty dainty with not much going on. However some of the workers were nice. It looks like every other Costco and they have their food court inside which of course you need a membership to get in. From the food court it looked a little claustrophobic as you have to get in a zig zag line after you order on the kiosk. Then when you go sit to eat because sometimes maybe you do not what to get in your car, it just becomes so cramped. Would not recommend if it is really busy. The one big complaint I had when I was in this Costco was that when I purchased alcohol, the cashier seemed to be stereotyping me because you could tell that he was judging me and when he handed my receipt he did not put in my hand but on the small table area. I was really annoyed because he was already judging me but the least he could've done is give it directly to my hand. I was even smiling and being nice about it. I'm surprised this place doesn't get more stars. I've been coming to this location for over 20 years and have nothing but good things to say about it. They usually open 10-15 minutes earlier than their posted hours, which is great. They patiently take returns, even those that are without receipts and well over a year old. I love the meat department -- best value for prime and choice cuts. And is If you can't find a cut that's usually available, I have always found the meat personnel to be very helpful in letting me know if they will be coming out with more or not. In general, the overall prices and quality of the products they sell are better than most anywhere else. Almost impossible for me not to buy 2-3X of what I had intended when I walked into the store. read more

Extremely disappointed with the Costco tire service on Cabot road in Laguna Niguel. I placed an order for a singular tire on Monday and was reassured it was take 1-4 business days since the shipment was coming from a local city. I was told I'd be updated. I called two days later and was told no update. I asked if they could get back to me and they didn't. I called a third time then got attitude from the other end of the line. I decided to go in person since it was almost the weekend. I was told I "couldn't get a refund" then when I complained, I suddenly got my refund. Then when I asked for a receipt, I was told "unfortunately, I cannot give you the receipt." I pushed and miraculously got one. Manager Danny in particular made this experience frustrating. It's Costco. A very large corporation. It's surreal to me that a Mom and Pop shop can get a tire within the week but Costco cannot. I will be getting my tire elsewhere. This is still a very good location. At least on my part, we have not really have a bad experience here. We do not come every week, but maybe once every 3-4 months just to buy things like TP, napkins, water, wipes, vitamin C, Combat protein, and sometimes they have some good quality cargo pants (Sometimes.) They do have a car service area too, but it looks really busy always, the same as their gas station, always full, but it is cheaper. read more

Due to the closure of the gas station at the Heather Ridge location, I tried this location. The good - Gas Station is well staffed including one person directing traffic to make the lines even and keep the cars moving forward when space permits. Good entrance/exiting on Crown Valley, and even exiting out on Cabot. The bad - This is a small store location compared to the other locations. The aisles are not set up to allow a good foot traffic flow. You enter the store on a diagonal and products are displayed in a criss-cross pattern. If you want to check out all products, you'll find yourself backtracking many times (especially the sale items). The back part of the store is even worse. Highly cramped with product and does not allow for two-way traffic. Whereas in other stores, you know where the shopping area ends and the back storage starts, here it is muddled. The cold storage/stand-up refrigeration sections are all over the store, there isn't just one area, but several. Also, it is not up and down aisles, but rather zig-zags. Tough to find things logically. Check-out is a bit confusing as well, most likely due to the small space, and backed right into the food court. Again, this is just an overcrowded mess. Not sure if it was just the employees that I interacted with, but they seem a bit grumpy compared to other locations I shop. Most times, employees recognize a seasoned customer and how we organize our carts, product labels and know the item count, but here it seemed like I was an inconvenience. I will be coming here for gas out of necessity for the next couple months but will shop at other Costco locations. read more
