Asked for help with getting sneakers in my size, was told that they'd check in the back to see if anyone's free to help... waited and waited and no one came out. High marks for Artie in men's shoes for picking the perfect fit cognac colored dress shoes for me. He even took the time to fit me into a few others for comparison and he showed that he really cared if I was satisfied. He even offered to stretch the shoes for 24hrs. Extremely pleased with his high level of customer service. Next day 4/10/26 6:30pm I returned to pick up my shoes. It was very quick, easy, and with excellent service in the men's shoe department. So why 3 stars? I decided to shop for a matching cognac colored dress belt in the men's suit department. There was a blonde girl working and she looked right at me twice and walked away. Just wandering the floor to find a better customer? I picked a beautiful cognac colored magnanni dress belt and took it to the suits department register. Again from across the department she looked directly at me and didn't come to help, she just stood there staring off. Three times she wasn't busy, looked at me, and never offered to help in any way. Pathetic in general and ridiculous for Nordstrom standards. So I quickly walked over to the men's shoe department register, asked them to give Artie credit for the sale (perhaps his day off), and purchased the belt in the shoe department. Nordstrom always has some treasure to find. This location is a great size. It's not overwhelmingly big, but it still feels spacious. I love that they have a cafe and they often times have exhibitors showcasing their brand. Like last weekend they had macaroons from Macaroon Land. read more

Stopped by this Nordstrom after work to pick up a few gift items I got for a baby. This store location is very convenient from all entrances of the mall. Store is well kept and clean. Most if the times, I got a pleasant associate to work with so service is generally good. Store isn't super busy during the week, which was nice for me as I do not have time to wait. Just wanted to get in and out quick as I am always busy and on the go. Their inventory is a bit low on many items, hopefully they'll restock soon since there was a big sale in July. read more

Did a quick stop to browse through some shoes, which I almost never do nowadays, but sometimes shoes be hard to figure out if they'll fit or not by the online description. Anyway, it's wild how huge this department store is. The floors are slippery clean and staff are quick to help if they see you wandering around. THE PARKING. Parking can be found on the west side of the campus, taking you directly to their exterior entrance. There's also a few parking structures, but from there, you will need to walk through the mall to get to Nordstrom. THE RETURN? Honestly, it's not my cup of tea unless I'm searching for something and they are the only ones who have it. read more

My wife had an appointment today with Vianey at the Anastasia Brow studio in the Nordstrom Mission Viejo to have her brows done. The tech refused to do any shaping saying that she didn't have time and would just do a tint without shaping which makes no sense. She was extremely rude and unwelcoming and my wife left without having any service done. Horrible experience. read more

I've been a customer of Nordstrom for decades. Unfortunately, today I needed to return a suit that I simply changed my mind on. No problem whatsoever. The sales gal cheerfully accepted my return and credited back to my original form of payment. To this day, they still amaze me with their return policy. My items were unworn, and never touched, so it made this experience a speedy and convenient one. This particular location has never been a problem with me. Nordstrom never lets me down. I hadn't been there in a while and had several gift cards burning a hole in my wallet. So I decided to treat myself before Christmas and go shopping. Oh my goodness, I had a blast! Not only did I find things for me (and I am picky), I found several fun and unique stocking stuffers for my whole family! I felt so happy to find so many cool things that I knew would bring joy to others. A bonus was having lunch at the cafe there. Wish I could go weekly! I had a shrimp an arugula salad that I couldn't shove in my mouth fast enough! And that famous tomato soup - it was a hug in a cup! I enjoyed myself SO VERY much. So it's just a few days before Christmas. My bad; overcome with grief and just attempted to get on the hamster wheel?! Decided to "pick up" at store. I'm not firing on all cylinders. Ordered and the website allowed the order to complete without my email address. Ugh! Arrived the next day with just a pic of money leaving my account. The "pick up" counter people were so patient and sincere! They found my name and an order number and said give it a day. Came back a day later, still no email understandably, and the woman researched it, found me, found purchase ... there will be a happy Grandson! From the moment I walked in, Megan greeted me with such genuine warmth and kindness--it was like shopping with a best friend who also happened to have impeccable taste. I came in overwhelmed, searching for a dress for a very emotional occasion--my daughter's college graduation, the first major family milestone since my husband passed. I didn't expect to find much that day, let alone walk out feeling transformed. Megan didn't just help me find a dress--she gave me space to breathe. She listened to my story, asked thoughtful questions, and picked pieces that honored how I wanted to feel: proud, elegant, and a little like my old self again. When I finally tried on the one, I looked in the mirror and cried. Megan cried with me. And it wasn't just me--while I was checking out, I overheard her comforting another customer, a young woman shopping for a dress for her first job interview. Every time I've been to this location, the folks that work there have been very customer service focused, professional and friendly. This also goes for the cafe. While they can't stock the store with every little item, you can order from online and have it delivered to a store or Rack location if you won't be home to receive the package or have it sent directly to your home with free shipping. Store is older, needs a remodel including the cafe but I'm grateful to have this store since the other store I used to shop at when I lived in Santa Monica just closed after 15 years of being open due to crime and disorder. We sat down and talked through what I was looking for and Ty brought out plenty of samples that he felt would fit what I had described. Where has the legendary Nordstrom customer service gone? I used to love shopping here. Now all I get is substandard service, and messy departments. Today I'm specifically talking about the men's show department. We went in to exchange a pair of Hokas for another size. When we finally got someone to acknowledge us, it all went downhill. "Jason" was the employee we got. We explained what we needed and he went to the back. Came out with nothing and said we only have these other sizes. I said ok let's try this other style in the size we need. He said ok, and while I grabbed the show for him, he looks at another customer and says "what can I help you with". Then proceeds to ignore us, take the show they want and go to the back. We were stunned. Jason comes out with there shoe and begins to ring it up. I said "excuse me, we were already being helped by you and you just gave up? We need this show please" he tells us he knows that but is going to help him and it won't be long. I said "no, sorry, we were first" so he finally caves and finishes with us. He was rude, and not what I considered, or at least used to expect, Nordstrom material. On top of that, this department I particular was filthy. Torn chairs, trash on the floors, thick dust on shelves. Even the women's bathroom was gross. Not what comes to mind when you think of Nordstrom. It is what I expect at Nordstrom Rack. read more

I hardly ever write negative reviews or call people out by name because people have bad days but Arlee was extremely rude and the attitude she gave off rubbed me the wrong way. I was doing a shoe return for a client of mine. I walked in to where the returns used to be and saw it was full of merchandise but towards the back I noticed a register. I walked up to the woman and asked if I could do a return she looked at my the things I was carrying (2 bags that held 5 pairs of shoes) and said she was with a customer but I could go to any register that was opened. I decided to wait as there was nobody in line and I wasn't in a rush. She continued to help the customer and finished within a minute or two. The customer was satisfied and didn't need any more help but she insisted they needed more help. The customer then said "it's okay, you can go ahead and help her. We got it figured out" and she hesitated, huffed, and eventually came over to me. She then remarked "you didn't want to go to the shoe department" and I said "I don't know where it is, I'm doing a return for someone else and this area is usually where I go" to which she replied "well yeah this is where all our returns used to be but they changed it" so if that's the area where all the returns used to be why are you mad? It looked like a service desk to me, in which returns are usually done at. Arlee, if you hate your job that much and the fact that I returned 5 pairs of shoes and made your job apparently so much harder, perhaps look into a different career path. Customer service might not be the job for you. read more

They have the best salmon anywhere...with couscous or the salmon Nicoise salad. always perfectly cook, beautiful balance of herbs. And they are very consistent whether I am in Mission Viejo, La Jolla or South Coast. And they have great service! Whomever runs the culinary operation is really on it! I went to fix a simple issue with my Dyson air wrap - the round brush attachment was faulty and would fall out whenever I used it on my hair. I was told to wait for Luz who I was told was one of the managers. Luz came over and was immediately dismissive and automatically assumed I caused the issue with the Dyson. After arguing with her she told me she can't help anyways because the Dyson rep handles issues related to Dyson products... so I'm not even sure why she came up to me in the first place. The Dyson rep, Tarina, came over and was so hostile and nasty. Without asking any questions she tells me how dirty my filter is saying "my dear" after every word in a condescending tone. Once she finished I told her I'm not there for the filter and had an issue with the brush. She dismissed my concern and said I must be using too much tension when I use the round brush in the same nasty tone. I explained none of the other attachments fall out when I use it... just the round brush. Luz tries to show how the round brush doesn't move when she tugs it, but it easily popped off, proving my point. It was clear we weren't going to get anywhere with Luz and Tarina, so I requested to speak with the manager, Maryam. Maryam actually listened to my concerns and got me a brush attachment that works. Idk why Luz and Tarina felt the need to be so combative right off the bat. All I wanted was my expensive product to work as it should. Grateful that Maryam was there. read more

The store is always clean and well stocked. This particular trip I needed a moisturizer. I have used Kiel's in the past. I went over to check pricing and Christian was immediately very friendly and helpful. He pointed out the gift sets and I ended up getting a moisturizer, eye cream, and serum. He even recommended other products for me to try and sent me samples. I will be back for the nighttime oil. read more

If you are looking for cosmetics or fragrance, do yourself a favor and walk down to Sephora. I came here looking for things that I couldn't find at Sephora. Some higher end fragrances and cosmetics. Let me tell you that not all Nordstrom stores are created equally, either that or Nick at the San Diego (Friars Road) location spoiled me with his customer service. First, they didn't have everything you'd find at the other locations. They did do me a solid by pointing me at other locations. But the weird thing was they don't have their Parfums de Marly fragrances out. They are hidden in the back according to sales associates. When I asked to smell one, they debated it suitability. Not even allowing me to smell a spitz on a piece of paper. So no, I didn't get to decide for myself or even know what it smells like regardless of the store having it in stock. They lost a an opportunity to make a sale. There sure are a lot of sales associates but they don't seem eager to help. This is the first time shopping that I felt unwelcome somewhere. Not coming back. I'll stick to the San Diego locations of Nordstom or go to Cosbar. read more

If you tend to buy gifts in advance for special occasions, your loved ones will find out they can't exchange or return any of them, very strict 60 day or lose it policy from time of purchase. In addition, their clearance/sales racks have become a total scam, many of the items are not actually discounted at purchase, this is a shady business tactic. This store went above and beyond this week and I just want to say THANK YOU. My mom ordered some items online and needed to return a couple of them. She was feeling very anxious to have to go into a store as they've been mostly home since March of this year. She called and spoke to someone about doing the returns via their Pick Up service for orders. She was told it is pick up only, but once my mom explained she was 75 and was there anything they could do... the gal put her on hold and said she could come to the pickup area and give them a call and they would process the returns. When she called, she got the same gal on the phone. Two items were paid for with Nordstrom rewards. A gift card would have to be issued, and mailed out. This was yesterday, and she received the gift card today!!! I just want to say thank you SO much for going way above and beyond for a concerned senior in these absolutely crazy times.
