I'm a Macy's fan and was excited to visit the new store in Century City. They don't validate! Also when I went to the ladies room I noticed the signage was missing the M on restroom- no big deal. But when I entered two stalls were disgusting and one had a spray bottle and warning sign outside it. When I found an acceptable stall there was gross something on the floor. When I was leaving the two sinks on my left weren't even on with water!! Had to wait for a working sink. It makes me wonder how a few month old store could be so disgusting so soon. I don't understand Macy's. Mix of high and low brow. We had a fine experience but the customer service in the men's denim was lackluster. No one was rude but they didn't know anything about the styles they carried which is a shame because the whole point about going to a brick and mortar store is to get some expertise. this might as well be a Sears....the staff was really friendly when we checked out, but that was because it was so screwed up trying to buy anything. We brough in the 15% off coupon from the newspaper and were buy 6 items from racks that said they worked with the coupon. Literally had a sign at the top of the racks saying "extra 15% off" at the top, but the salespeople couldn't honor the pricing. So we ended up not buying 4 of the items.....so annoying.....the stuff in this store is worse than other macy's which is questionable enough as it is. if you want something from macy's buy it online and skip this location....ps the store appears to be in it's original condition from when the mall was built decades ago read more

I have been shopping at Macys for many years now. Their quality of merchandise has gone downhill. Also, if you need to call customer service, you are reaching another country whom seem to not be able to do anything to help you. I called my local Macys today and selected the Fine Jewelry option. The option was not valid. So I reached out to the cosmetics department to see if they could transfer me. When they transferred me they dropped the call. So I called back and this time when they transfered me it took me back to the beginning of selecting the Fine Jewelry option. What a waste of my time and poor customer service. If you try to reach out to their main headquarters in New York, the call goes directly back to overseas. Macys, you are not what you used to be and this isn't due to Covid! read more

A jewelry manager who said I'll match the price online but then said I can't match the 50% off online. I am an online shopper afficianado. I can find a bargain like no other. Since I'm having a little bit of a boot-fetish this winter, I wanted to check out these specific boots from the Nine West American Heritage collection. The boots (leather with buckles and a worn/weathered appearance) were originally $189. Wowza! When I put in a search for them online, I found out that they were on sale at Macy's, they were on sale for $75.60! I looked up their website and saw that they had a limited amount available (in my size) at this location, and so I hopped to it one rainy Sunday afternoon. When I got there, I realized how tiny this location is, and they don't have any signs by their escalators saying what can be found on each floor. I know it's not gigantic, but you could at least lead me in the right direction! Once I got to the shoe department, I spotted the boots immediately. The boots had a sales sign on it of $119. Um, I don't think so. The salespeople did seem rather busy (it was new years weekend - the BIG sale, and also the last day where they were taking an additional 10-15% off all merchandise). Once I finally got a salesperson's attention, I asked for my size so that I could try the boots on. Also, I asked him how they could have one price online, and a different price in the store. He said he didn't know about the online price, but I should try the shoes on, and we'd take it from there. He was a little bit cranky. Well, nevertheless, I did try them on, and I fell in love. I asked him to check on the price for me, since I was certain about the online price, plus I wanted to use the additional sales discount. He said that he had to check with his manager. When he came back he told me that his manager insisted that I should bring back a print out of what I saw online. I felt like I was challenged, so of course, I rose to the occasion. You better believe I drove back home, printed that webpage out, and brought it back. All within an hour. Don't question me and my love for a bargain, mister. When I did bring the printout back, he STILL walked away to show his manager, who of course had to relent. I walked away with boots in hand, and because of the additional sale, minus the cost of sales tax. read more

Macy's is like a ghost-town treasure hunt. You walk in, no one is around, no one's really shopping, you have to dig for what you're looking for, but once you find something in all of the junk, it's a hell of a deal. I went in looking for a suit. I wandered around for a while, grazing, before this lady who I swear was the same lady that plays Consuela in Family Guy, approached me. She was bent on selling me a suit and she succeeded. I mean, when the suit's $300 off, and 15% off on top of that, how can you go wrong? One piece of advice, I would say know what you want before you head in here. Otherwise you'll get sucked in by sales on low-quality stuff. read more

This is not really a bad location, but I think the actual building is just a little bit older and in need of some modern renovations to bring it back to life. They have been here for as long as I could remember, and haven't changed much over the years. It's also always rather quiet here, though they have three levels with many selections for clothing, and a decent men's section on the third floor as well. I come here on occasion depending on what I may need, but haven't really encountered too many problems. For the most part, the staff that work here are pretty nice and willing to help out with any questions you may have, and I've bought everything from formal dress clothing here to winter coats to dress shoes. With that said, sometimes the place is rather quiet, and you kind of have to look out for someone to ask questions instead of having people come up to you. They also have something here for anybody and offer a selection of clothing choices for different budgets, making it a very accessible department store for many people. I feel their sales are also nicely priced if you are someone who looks out for that! Also, I have found that returns here for items is rather easy, and they do take products make from other Macy's locations. Overall, a decent shopping experience, but like others here have mentioned I wish it were a little more lively with more staff around to help out with questions about the products that they carry. read more

I had been wanting a perfect pair of running shoes. I am training for a 15k. I walked in to the finish line area in the shoe section and Lynn immediately approached me and took great care of me. I told her I wanted to win this 15k and she said she would help me find the right pair to win. She brought me out 3 pairs of shoes. I picked my favorite and she still went above and beyond and went to ask for a second opinion on the pair I had chosen. I wanted to get a new suit, so I thought I'd walk down to the Mall and check out a few places. I tried BR, Zara and then gave Macy's a try. I don't usually go there when it comes to clothing, but I've gotten a few things at their Marin/San Rafael location so I thought I'd check this one out. The mens' section is pretty lame/dated and for lack of a better word, I found the salespeople to be a bit creepy. Especially in the suit section. After the guy made his initial pitch and I told him I would let him know if I needed him, he lurked over my shoulder the entire time I was browsing. There's just something about the overall vibe here that made me want to get out and stay out. I doubt I'll go back unless there's something I have to have and their the only place to carry it. read more

Great store. I had no expectations going into it like some reviewers so I was pleasantly surprised. I don't usually shop at Macy's much but it was fun to cruise through and see what they have. I thought the departments had a wide verity of items, especially the formal women's dress department, there were a lot of beautiful gowns there. The home and kitchen are were really nice too. To my surprise , they have chosen not to have the Macy's Woman Department. I think it's pathetic and discriminatory. This store has some of the worst customer service. I witnessed a salesperson be incredibly rude to an older woman today in the shoe department. The woman was just trying to get help and the shoe salesman was dismissive and very unkind to her. She asked to speak to a manager and he would not get one to speak to her. Again, I would give it half a star if I could. This review is for the Clinique store inside of this crappy looking macys. It was ok the first time i went there, did some exchange and that girl was nice. But this time i went in, tried to do some return, this other girl was unbelievably RUDE! When bf and I walked in, we saw, (you know those ladies wearing white "lad coat" and they think they look professional? yea, we saw one old lady like that selling some shit to a young mom with a baby girl. we stood aside and waited patiently. but i guess that lady was just too old to see us waiting, or something, she just walked away after she completed the sale. and uhm.... we were standing there like a pair of idiot, thought she was on the other side of the clinique, (you know how they sometimes walk around behind the counter), so we went to the other side, found her disappeared. we also saw 2-3 cosmetic department girl standing in the hallway talking and laughing and whatever. So we spotted this one girl cleaning up something on the counter on one side of clinique. I politely asked "excuse me, could you help me with this, please? I just want to return them" She looked at me and said "OK". So I handed her a bottle of moisturizing gel and a tube of city block 40, both inside of the boxes with tag and unused. She took them and asked me "uhm, is there anything wrong with them?" I was like, uhmmmmm "I just don't quite like them". she said "oh ok." I felt a little uncomfortable cuz she kinda "questioned" me about the return. Then she turned around and did the transaction in front of the computer. All of a sudden, she turned to me and said: "Did you use the products? Cuz if you didn't, how'd you know you don't like them?" WHAT THE FVCK! So i told her that i bought 2 of the gel and i just decided i don't like it that much, but im keeping one of them cuz i opened it and used it. the sunblock was for bf but he found that he likes the one from Kielh's better. Thats all. Shes like, oh oh, ok. you know that expression ppl have when they thought they caught you but they really didn't and they feel embarrassed or something when they realized they're being ridiculous. So she had that expression on her face. She finished the transaction and gave me a macy's "easy exchange" card. I thanked her and left. I paid with cash when i bought the products, so i thought macys just won't give you cash back if you're returning? weird weird. Right when we were turning around and leaving the counter, my bf raised his voice and said "Damn, who does that lady think she is. Who the f*ck cares why i want to return something i dont want." Then i was thinking, yea, before i went in the store, i looked at the back of the receipt, it says that customers can return anything if they're not satisfied with it. Is it necessary to question customers when they return something? I don't know. But what I do know is that I shouldn't be so timid towards those sales ladies. I have my right too. so. Luckily she didnt write her name clearly enough for me to figure out what her name is, if she did, then sure enough i'll report her. Conclusion, the girls that work at the cosmetic department in Century City Westfield Mall are all so lazy, they just stand around and chat and laugh with each other. Maybe they would give you a look or they would talk about your outfit/makeup/jewelry/style when you walk by. That's about it though. After 1 hour and 40 minutes, being hung up on 4 times, talking to 3 agents who couldn't speak English, transferred to a supervisor and sitting on hold 30 minutes, I was told it was too late. Today me and my mother visited this store, before our movie. we picked out what we like very quickly and headed over to the register. We had limited time before the movie starts, about 30 min. The cashier was sooooooo SLOW that it took her 30 min to process two people in front of me with about 2-3 items each, and when my turn came, she scanned all my items, and then had to re scan them. it was really annoying waiting for her slow ass. I love Free People, Lucky Brand and INC and they had some choices but The Westside Pavilion Macy's has more choices and more sales!! Interviewed with the Macy's Century City location for the holiday seasonal help. I met with two department managers. The first was with the manager over handbags and the boys department...really enjoyed speaking with her. This manager tells me I would be a perfect fit for the Fine Jewelry Department and asked that I wait 30 minutes to speak with the manager of that department. This woman was a total un-professional BITCH!!! She took the interview sheet that the first manager handed her and began to read by saying out loud BLAH, BLAH...BLAH...., Oh you graduated from UCLA(twice) you have management skills and customer service skills..."but you never worked in a sales department? I corrected this classless person by pointing out several years of corporate sales. I wish this site allowed "Zero" stars! THIS WAS FOR SEASONAL WORK!!! HORRIBLE HR DEPARTMENT!!! Don't bother coming to Westfield Century City if you're coming for the Macy's. The selection is thin, and compared to other Macy's they only seem to carry their high-end merchandise, and not really the middle of the road stuff. They've got a couple of nice ladies who work behind the jewelry counters though--props to friendly older ladies who wear large printed blouses and rose perfume! read more
