At Brentwood, Brian and Romero have been incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and honest in guiding fit and selections. I went for the 1st time to Theory-Brentwood-after passing this store so many time since they opened there and never have made it in. Now, after changing careers and I need of some nice work attire that I can wear casually-I finally have found the perfect match! I was lucky enough to meet Goli Messian who assisted me at Theory. I purchased a pair of pants at a different Theory location while on vacation for about $300. Stitching from the item came out within just one month of owning it. The item was worn only a few times without any especially rough circumstances. I brought the item back to Theory in Brentwood hoping they would be able to fix or replace the item. The associate there wanted to charge me $35 to fix the item and would not offer any other compensation. I'm not sure why I would buy anything from this brand again. You may think you're paying a higher price for good quality, but the truth is you pay for nothing but poor service and defective merchandise. read more

Called just to find out about dresses and pricing, was kind of a weird conversation, someone picked up the phone without identifying the store (?) and had me on speaker phone. They didn't seem particularly interested in speaking and the vibe wasn't what I would hope for from this upscale brand that I enjoy shopping at. Would recommend someone speak to whomever this is who's answering the phone this way- as it definitely kind of just leaves them with an unfriendly impression and like they don't really want to be bothered with customers inquiring about purchases. While I haven't been to this store in person, I can attest to the fact that this Theory location is amazing. As an attorney, I ONLY shop Theory for my work clothes. I was out-of-state recently and needed to buy a new suit as soon as possible; I couldn't wait until I was back in Los Angeles. I called Theory Brentwood and an employee spent a significant amount of time helping me pick out the perfect sizes online. He was so kind, patient, and helpful. These people treated my mother like sh*t, namely an employee named Maya (ironically). My other went in to get me a Hanukah gift and expressly wanted something she could return if I didn't like it. Well, I didn't. And when she went to return it, Maya told her it was final sale. NO WHERE was it written on the receipt nor was she told that it was final sale when she purchased it. Maya would not issue a refund and was insanely rude. I am a costume designer and stylist. I spend millions of dollars around town for the tv shows I design and will never ever buy from these jerks again. Customer service is everything these days. you can buy that trash at any department store in LA, so don't bother going in there. read more

Horrible service! Hey "forgot" I was there and when they remembered they laughed and said "sorry can I help you?". I've done costumer service and retail and I know all about treating people. Also, I was looking to exchange some pants I got online and they straight up told me they didn't have them. They didn't even check. Yes I am guilty. Most if not all of my current wardrobe is all theory. The clothes fit amazing and are perfect for all occasions. But besides the clothes, the customer service here is above and beyond. It is one of the only places the staff remember who I am and bring out special and new items to me every time I come in. I feel like I'm shopping on rodeo drive here but in my own community without all the crazy tourist. Need a drink, they offer it while shopping. Need to order anything not in stock, they bust out their iPads and order it on the spot. This store has become one of my guilty pleasures just to hang out in because the service is good and also the clothes. read more

Nino the store manager here has the worst customer service at this store. I had an issue with an online order and I called the store to be able to talk to a district or regional manager to get help since when I called their corporate office I was placed on hold music for 10 minutes each time and hung up on. So if you order anything you can never talk to a live person. You can only email and an online manager by the name of Catherine responds every time and is very rude with zero customer service skills. When I spoke to Nino she claimed that she will email them and also talk to her regional and district manager and have them call me. Well it's been a month and I haven't received a response from her or anyone else. And if you call the store it goes to voicemail. They charge for their products but they have zero customer service skills! None of them are capable of having a job. There are other people out there that can actually help the customers. I will never purchase from them again. read more

Theory is Theory. You either like the style or you don't. But you can still hate this particular store. What do we hate about it? The physical store is ugly and totally out of character with the surroundings. This store is for people who do not work. It's open 10am to 6pm (last time I checked) and therefore caters to the idle rich. If you arrive after the store closes and don't sprint to the front door of the store and back to your car, the parking lot charges you a full $4 if you're even a 2 seconds over the grace period. All of that is enough to warrant three stars. The last two stars are for the management. I sent a cordial email to brentwood@theory.com. I got no response. I sent a follow-up. No response. The store managers can't be bothered to take 30 seconds to respond to a customer. That's the very definition of terrible service. I'll buy my $500 sportcoats elsewhere. read more

He went over and above to help me even when I was having a hard time making decisions after the store had technically closed. Walked into this store with my mom because my girlfriend told me I needed to dress better. I had no idea what I was looking for but the staff was awesome. They could tell my size right away and put me in multiple outfits from head to toe. To top it off they offered us refreshments and made us feel so comfortable. I've wanted to stop in here for a while, and noticed they were having a sale. I picked out 2 dresses, a shirt, and a jacket online that I wanted to buy, so I headed over. The store is really clean and also sells Hemut Lang and Frame Denim. However, no one seems to work here. Couldn't find what I was looking for, so headed back to my car. The garage says complimentary parking, but since no one works in the store, I didn't get my ticket validated. Ended up costing $6, cash only. Since I only had a $20, the machine gave me $14 in Susan B. Anthony's. WTF. read more

I am baffled by the bad reviews on here. This review is specifically for Michael Kruse, and I hope that the store manager will take note. Michael was absolutely remarkable. I came to LA for just 2 days for a business interview, and to my horror noticed that I left my garment bag with the interview attire at the rental car place, and then the bag was no longer there when I returned the next day. I called the store in a panic from the rental place, explained the situation, and Michael was so courteous. I was able to grab screenshots of some of the clothing online, but some of the older items I couldn't find online content. Michael gave me his cell number, I texted him the screenshots I had, and then described some of the other items I also needed. Michael was super responsive, took photos of various things they had in store, sent them to me, we agreed on an outfit, which he then had ready on the side waiting for me to come pick up. Just as we had finished (the whole episode lasted at least 30 minutes), the rental place found my clothes. I felt SO bad! At same time, I wasn't going to re-buy the same items. I told Michael how badly I felt, and he just goes like, "are you kidding - so happy they found your stuff!!! Good luck with the interview!!!". Just WOW. Absolutely remarkable. Next time I need a Theory item, I will specifically purchase it on an LA trip so I can come by the Brentwood store. Thanks Michael you are amazing. read more
