Great store. Very helpful people. Best app of all large stores as well If you take a few minutes to learn it.

The cosmetic department at every other Macy's is extremely helpful. However, recently I went into the Clinique requesting for a quick make-up styling (as I usually do). The woman I approached was friendly, but was inadequate at her job. She inquired if I had made an appointment or not, and I stated no, since I was previously there a few weekends ago, and the manager stated that no appointment was needed. After stating this, the woman took this opportunity and said "well you know you're going to have to make a purchase before we start. It's a new policy". I inquired when this policy was in effect, and she stated it had been more than a year. I would like to state that this Macy's has not even been open for a year, and that I was just in a few weekends ago, requesting the same thing. She wouldn't even look me in the eye, and acknowledging her unprofessional demeanor (to try and make a quick sales) was inappropriate, but rude, I decided to tell her to have a wonderful day. Coincidently, she stated that she would still do it for me, but already disappointed with this Clinique's scandalous operation, I proceeded elsewhere for my request. Don't waste your time in the shoe department. Every shoe I asked for, they couldn't find the other pair in the back. The associate said, "Well, people must walk out with the other shoe." How does that even make sense? read more

Gurnee. Macy's, started out strong great customer service friendly people, who looked to be proud of being Macy's employees. Was there last week,horrible customer service 35 min to purchase one pair one shoes, and out of sizes and styles for my husband. Several of employees had dirty pants and torn up shoes. So disappointed. Looks like they need an unannounced manager visit. read more

I love Macys! So much better selection here than Marshalls across the mall. I picked up a few awesome dress shirts for $20 a pop. Can't beat it! They also stock a ton of my favorite shirts (Club Room), so I usually get a few while I'm over there. I was also a fan of their clearance rack, which had some great deals as well. read more

I go to the store quite often and every time I go I seem to get no help when I ask for it. I just left the store because I was trying to find a coat and a certain size asked for different employees and nobody seem to help me they just kept saying look for somebody in the department when they could've easily found somebody or help me find the item I was looking for instead they continue to have personal conversation the entire time I was in there looking. read more

Macy's is great! Old fashion incredible service you don't see these days!! Millen at the makeup counter was amazing again!! Went in with my Christmas list She walked me around helping me find 10 things on that list. She remembered from a year ago what my wife liked!! Then she offered to wrap them. I am a horrible wrapper I told her I was looking for a suit. She walked me over to suits. Introduced me to Karla. She found exactly what I was looking for. She said it would be ready next week. Did all the measurements. Helped pick out a shirt to go with it. Have I told you Macy's is amazing. Thank you very much ladies!! read more

Writing my review about the experience we had with the wonderful clinique rep Georgia. She went well above and beyond today for me. I called earlier today and spoke with someone about ordering something apparently the item cant be ordered and Georgia was very apologetic and tried her best to make things right since this was my only reason for the trip to the store. I was so pleased with how helpful she was that I made it a point to get her name for this review asked how to send a letter/email to someone about her exceptional service and thanked her manager! Thank you Georgia you are fabulous!!! read more

First time here, friendly staff, always willing to help out. A bit of a worker shortage so I do understand the longer waits for help. But I don't mind, unlike some other reviews here. "I waited 10 to 15 min" hahaha 10 to 15 min won't kill you. Check out the mens clearance , got myself some calvin Klein for half the price. read more

This is the first time I was at the Macy's in Gurnee mills. For being in such a large mall I thought this would be an extraordinary Macy's with a big selection. This could be anything but the case. The polo Ralph Lauren section was a fifth of the size of other locations that I've been to. This appeared to be the case with all of their other brand-name sections as well. I personally didn't care for the layout of the store either. It has this huge square layout and makes it difficult to see where different sections of the store are located. I felt like I was at Brookfield zoo looking for my clothes. I'm more of a Lincoln Park animal zoo kind of guy. They didn't have a wide variety of clearance items either which was a shame because I had a $20 off a $50 purchase when shopping for clearance items. Long story short, I would not recommend this Macy's over other locations that I've been to. read more

I was excited to have Macy's at Gurnee Mills in hopes that it would bring some class to the mall. However, I find this store to be inadequate as far as selection compared to other Macy's. I feel they are offering only the basics at the lowest possible prices to cater to the locals who are accustomed to bargains. I had hoped they would appeal to customers who are willing to pay for better quality merchandise, but I don't see that happening. They also do not have enough staff. Their sales and coupons are not enough to uphold their more sophisticated reputation in this particular store. I will enjoy the Macy's experience at their other locations as this one is a disappointment. read more

I was shopping for shoes and stopped in to see what Macy's had. As I walked up I noticed only one employee in the men's shoe department. He stood there as if he should not be bothered. Another couple walked up to him before I was able to speak to him. They asked a few questions that received snide responses as to their sense of fashion pertaining shoes that they were looking for. Shortly into this conversation they left. I then approached the sales clerk and inquired about some boat shoes that I had seen they had online. He looked me up and down, grinned, and told me that they do not carry "those" shoes here at Macy's. I proceeded to explain that I had come this location as the Macy's website stated they had them and was not interested in the shoes he was trying to sell me instead. Seemingly perterbed, he said he would check on the status of the shoes in the back... he came back out while talking on his phone laughing and did not come back to speak to me. I eventually left and informed one of the managers of this indiviuals behaviour and was informed that there are other places to shop. If this is your style of survice, by all means go to Macy's. I'll be sticking with a much more reputable retail. read more

I was in Macy's at Gurnee, IL today and was delighted by an associate 'Shameen'. She is just fantastic. She did not hesitate a bit to spend time to find out the shoes that we were trying to see. Not only that, she is a polite, respectful, knowledgeable and true professional that Macy's has. I wish I could personally speak to a manager to say that you have such great asset working for you. And above all, it wasn't just me who felt it that ways...the other customers felt and expressed the same. I even saw an old couple shaking hands and congratulating her for the good work. read more

This has to be the worst customer service in the nation.I called about a pair of shoes after visiting the store earlier in the week.Talked with a sales guy said they didn't stock that brand,i said I tried them on a week ago and he said hold and transferred me to a phone that just rang and rang.I called back talked with operator that put me on hold were the phone just hung up,i will never go their again. read more

I came here to get perfume and waited 15 minutes for someone, then the lady's working the makeup Just continued to stare and not help, finally someone came and we asked for a perfume and they gave me a deodorant instead and they said it was perfume :/ read more

I bought 6 items to give as gifts for my 3 friends from out of town. I was planning to give them 2 boxes of Frangos (16oz/45ct) each. I requested the employee for 3 small plastic bags so I can show my friends that I bought them from Macy's. The manager/supervisor named Marissa who was right there intervened and reprimanded the employee that he should not give me more than 1 bag for my purchase! I explained that the 2 bags she would give me would go a long way to promote your store. She was rather stern and very dismissive of my request and I was getting really annoyed by her attitude. I then offered to pay for 2 bags just so I can evenly distribute the Frangos to my friends with your nice plastic bags instead of just grabbing some old grocery bags. She said they are not for sale quite arrogantly and now looking/pretending to be too busy to even engage me in a civil conversation. I asked if I should return the items and then purchase them one by one, will I get 6 bags instead. She would hear none of it so I said sarcastically "Good Luck to Macy's !" As you can surmise, I have no plans of coming back to this store ever and will tell everybody I know who would care to listen (family, friends, co-workers & even strangers) this very bad customer service of yours.
