I have not shopped at a Macy's for the longest time - primarily because all the Macy's stores in or nearby my neighborhood shut down. I would attribute that to poor sales, and the competition is just way too fierce. Mom and I are in town for a wedding and we decided to get a couple of accessories to add to our outfits. We ended up buying more than we intended, there were just way too much bargain buys! To top it off, there's a discount when you open a new account. So on top of the heavily discounted items we already got, the additional discount just by opening an account was just the cherry on top. Our cashier ( I hate that I forgot her name!) was incredibly kind and friendly. Service with a smile is always a plus PLUS! First time in Macys in years. Looking for dress shorts and the selection was poor, unless you wanted to pay 86.00 for Tommy and that's never gonna happen. Found 2 suitable pairs, off to changing room And I found it to be filthy. The door lock was broken and hanging down, the carpet hadn't been cleaned since installation and there was garbage all over the floor, I've seen worse but can't recall when. Shorts were on a sales rack for 39.00 cashier rang them up at 60,00 had to walk the girl over to the rack and show her sales price. She was cool about it though. I had never been to this Macy's before and was in the area so I stopped in. I found a few things in the ladies department and started searching for a fitting room. I think I walked around all over in multiple areas - petites, plus sizes, lingerie, etc. and finally found one, but it had a sign saying it was closed. I finally asked an employee where a fitting room was and she was very gracious and walked me over to one in the formal dress area. She said that they are cleaning out the others and they will all be open very soon. I wasn't shopping for a party dress and I didn't see this fitting room because it was hidden way in the back. It would be helpful to have better signage so customers can more easily find fitting rooms. They did have a good assortment of clothing in various sizes. But everything was regular price, only some clearance racks had discounted clothing. I found all the employees I came in contact with to be very nice and helpful. read more

Been a customer at this specific location for over ten years and am appalled to be have been treated with the level of disrespect as I did on my visit today. I've worked retail for years previously and have knowledge of their credit card systems and how to look up an account with out having a physical card present. I have also used this technique while shopping at THIS store before. I have two kids and they end up getting the physical cards often because I can answer the security questions and still shop no problem. WhenI went to check out the cashier was barely able to understand and find my Macys account, attempting to get me to create another, did not greet or engage with me at all, and when I explained that I needed to look up my card she said she could not complete that request. I asked if this was a new policy change and explained that I have done this before and in turn she said they have never been able to run a transaction like that. This I was okay with, I understand she is just an employee and cannot change the companies policies or override the cash wrap. What I am upset about is her rude, dismissive and standoffish attitude. When I tried to turn around and leave because I knew I was going to be unable to porsches anything today, she insisted on going to get her manager on staff to just waste all of our times by repeating the exact same thing. The saving grace was, Lawrence, I believe was his name, was considerate and kind when explaining. And just to clarify I am not upset that they couldn't have allowed me to purchase without the mystical card, i appreciate the diligence in protecting us as your customers form fraudulent charges; her demeanor and character is what ultimately made me write this review. Macys has been a favorite store for my family for years and it is disappointing to see they cannot find better employees to be selling their product and representing their store and brand. read more

The service was great. The selection was pleasing. The value was rewarding. I had $90.00 in rewards money that I needed to spend before it expired. I knew the departments I wanted to visit. I found and purchased 2 handbags they were on sale. They had a great variety of shoes on sale. I did not need any so I decided to go upstairs and saw a Macy's backstage. I found the perfect set of sheets to compliment the decor in my bedroom. Then found a great selection in lingerie. I spent only ten dollars over my bonus reward money so I felt great. Tried to use a gift card and the attendant did not follow the correct procedures and locked up the gift card for tonight, it appears to try and force you to use a Macys card. Poorly trained staff. Was there earlier this morning around 10:30 to try on a prom dress literally fell in love with it and went to ask if i could put it on hold. said they didn't have a hold section to put it on so they could only hold it for a day and that they were gonna put it in back stock. went back around 6 and they couldn't help me find it and said they had nothing on hold... they ended up just putting it back into the sales floor. read more

It is 6pm on a Tuesday. There are 16 customers in line to pick up ship-to-store orders. It appears to take 5-10 minutes per customer to locate order in a back room and confirm ID of the person picking up. I arrived 15 minutes ago and there was only one clerk. A second clerk just arrived. The line looks like the return line the after Christmas at a Walmart. Pay the shipping and avoid the line. read more

So frustrated with this store. I came to do a simple return first group of ladies could not do it "didn't know how and was to complicated for them" so they called their manager DAVE. I was told to go downstairs and that he would be waiting to help me because it needed a manager approval. After going downstairs MARIA helps me out I explain everything to her and she refused to call her manager. 10 minutes later she finally calls. But the manager doesn't come. Then Maria half way thru the return process leaves and tells another lady to come and help me because she has to go already. So I have to explain everything again. Finally they call Dave again he comes and where able to make the return. Spent 1 hour there for a simple return process. Please go to another store. There is this employee name Lois in the women's department downstairs that gave me the hardest time with a card payment. I provided the proper identifications and social security number to make a payment for a family member who is being socially responsible. She was just giving me the hardest time and shrugged me off with major attitude. I ended going upstairs and made the same payment with all of the same identifications and security questions with little push back. The task was done in less than 5mins, I even showed them my ID just in case. The young women upstairs were so polite, understanding and helpful. Perhaps Lois wasn't comfortable with the system yet and wanted to make it so that was the case? It was very uncomfortable situation that didn't need to be any more difficult than it was. read more

I have to admit after reading the reviews here, I wasn't too thrilled that I had to go to Macy's at Firewheel to pick up an order. However every person that I met at checkout was very kind, I was the only one in line on a Friday night at 6:00 PM picking something up from a mail order. It took less than five minutes, I went and tried on a few things and despite being dressed like a slob, and having rubber flip-flops on from getting my toenails done, people treated me as if I had lots of money and lots of time and I wanted to spend a little more. read more

Wow. The perfume department is so intense that I left a few weeks ago because they wouldn't leave me alone long enough to look at their selection. I went back on Christmas Eve to pick up one more thing and got the same treatment. One saleswoman cut me off in the middle of explaining what I wanted. When I told her to let me finish, she walked away. The second girl came around and followed me asking if I needed to know prices and if I needed help. I told her that I will let her know. A third girl came around and asked if I needed help to let her know. I asked her if it was always this intense and she said yes and it was awful. I walked out. The Macy's at Firewheel is such a great store; I'm always welcomed, I'm always spoken to, I'm always asked if I need any assistance. They are well-stocked. Every department I've been to is clean, associates are always straightening up, folding or re-stocking. The dressing rooms are clean, the lightning is good & there's never any clothing left from the last customer's try-on. Returns are easy. Associates are ready to assist, in finding an item they may be out of, at another Macy's or online. The associates at the make-up and/or perfume counters are sweet & helpful and great about making suggestions. It's just always a nice experience when I go into The Macy's at Firewheel and I think other shoppers would enjoy it also. read more

I haven't written a bad review until now. I went into Macy's on my day off with my daughter and as we enter the athletic section there were at least 5 roaches, one of which was on the clothing. My daughter started pointing saying "mom look the bug is on the bra!". I didn't want her drawing any more attention so we went up to the kids section to look around for her. Sad to say the same scenario in the kids section which I couldn't believe. We went downstairs and I spoke with one of the checkout girls and said I didn't want to stir other customers but directed her to the sports bra with the roach on it. If I could give this Macy's 0 stars I would. If you are a POC just prepare to be followed and watched while you are shopping. I have never in my life experienced such weird hateful behavior at a store before. I came to look for dress for a wedding and buy a cologne for my husband. Upon walking in I felt watched and saw the workers behind the jewelry area give me mean look. Anyways when I was checking out the scents the 2 ladies at the cashier close by were literally watching my every move and when I made it clear that it was making me uncomfortable they decided to continue to get closer and hover over me as I checked another scent. So I decided just to go look for a dress instead and as I approached the formal dresses another worker there decided to again watch my every move. Already fed up with their behavior I decided to settle for a random dress and walked to the nearest dressing room to try it on. She saw where I was heading and beat me to the entrance of the fitting of the room. She let 2 ladies walk in and ONLY asked me how many items I have. Since she only asked me I was so frustrated with my experience already i told her I'd rather leave then deal with this type of discrimination really. Don't recommend coming here. read more

Sure it's not enough cashiers, but it's definitely because of the online market, and that's everywhere. I recently went to this Macy's location to return a pot set that was defective. I printed out the email conversation I had with Macy's warranty department and a copy of their warranty for the Belgique products stating all I needed to do was bring in the set to the store with proof of purchase. I showed up in the home department and the cashier Megan informed me that the purchase was older than 180 days. I provided the documents showing that I informed the warranty department that I purchased the products one year previously. Megan went above an beyond and called a manager who attempted to assist me and then told me she would have to speak with the general manager. The first level manager then attempted to reject my return because I didn't have a slip that was in the original box. Megan informed her it wasn't necessary because I had the original proof of payment (which was an online purchase). The store general manager was summoned and she immediately agreed with Megan that the return should be accepted and they replaced my defective set with a brand new set. Kudos to Megan and the store GM Angela for providing outstanding customer service and honoring a return that was outside of the normal window due to a miscommunication with their warranty department. read more

The only department I wish they would expand on is the boy's 8-20 section. There's literally very little to choose from and when it's picked over, it's just aweful. I like this store because of it's proximity but I really cannot shop for my son. He's pushing a Mens Small so at least we can start on the other side of the aisle soon. read more

One of my favorite things to do when I am in NYC was going into Macy's Today i did not run into one sales person that had a smile and frankly all just really had bad attitudes. I went to the register to pay and the 3 young ladies standing around said we aren't open. So I asked can you direct me to an open register and they pointed to the one across the isle. I went there and waited as those three ladies stood at the other register looking at all of us waiting for anybody to help us. So I went back over and said there doesn't seem to be anyone over at that register and they pointed me to the one on the other side of the department store. Finally paid out. Lady checking me out never smiled and was bad talking with the other girl about their boss. On the way out went by the ladies room and it smelled like urine. Worse than the subway! I've been coming to this location for a while. Sadly, the selection at this particular location is dismal and appears to get worse as time goes on. I'm referring to bags, shoes and women's clothing. Sad because there are good discounts with the Macy's card. Doesn't help if there is hardly anything worth purchasing. Yesterday, I walked into the shoe department and was walking back out within 5 minutes. Strolled down to Dillard's and the shoe selection is about 3-4xs the size of Macy's. At this point, I'm traveling to Northpark, Stonebriar and Galleria if I need to pick something up in person. read more

Firewheel Garland Macy's is horrible.......I came in there one day and almost fell down because of all the water left on the floor. They didn't have a sign or nothing there to let us know. Don't make no damn sense..... Do not shop at this Macy's. Also I heard there was a lot of employee harassment from the Asset Protection crew that works there. Asset Protection is so paranoid about people stealing, the damn alarm chimes go off 100 times while you basically browsing the area trying to shop. It's very annoying, I said something about it and they refused to fix it because they said that they could care less about how the customers feel. I hurried up and got the fuck out of there. I was not going to give people like that my money. I want the place to be closed down. read more

Went to this store today. Haven't visited in a few months due to how nasty & dirty the store has become, can not find help when needed. I went upstairs to look for sheets. While there I find 2 separate pairs of teenagers laying in the middle of bedding displays, laughing and eating food. I finally found a sales person and told her what I witnessed. She says well I don't see them, without looking up. I pointed out the closest couple, maybe 5 feet away. She says in a very soft voice, displays are not for setting on. I asked several people where to find a manager. Not one person could tell me who the manager(s)for the store are. I'm gone, other nicer stores to shop. read more

Cashier did a fantastic job leaving the ink security tag on a coat I bought here.(firewheel) The tag was even a contrasting color. Got to pay a return visit to have it removed at the location in Allen. And of course the cashier at that location treated the situation as though I had stolen the coat. Glad I kept my receipt. And yes, these are cashiers, not salespeople. Real salespeople actually greet you and ask if they can help. Those two things never happened at the Firewheel location. Giving two stars because at least the sales floor is well laid out and clean. read more

The reasons I have this four stars is because they are really nice about online returns at this location. Their selection is smaller but clean and well organized. Service is friendly, albeit hard to find sometimes. Parking is easily accessible and convenient when you only need to go here and not the rest of the mall. Be aware that this Macy's closes earlier than others in the metroplex. read more

This review is for the particular curly haired bitch that works at Estee Lauder. I believe she may be a manager? Red name tag, didn't catch her name because she didn't give me the time of day. Apparently I didn't look 'rich' enough for her to help me. Because once some old stuck up lady came up the the counter minutes after me, she ran up and damn near humped her leg to help her. But me? No, she pushed me out of the way to show this old lady what I was looking at. Lol I couldn't believe it. Little does this bitch know, I have a damn good job and I just made 80k profit last month selling my house, so I have more than enough to buy your damn products.
