In doing this you are forcing customers to walk much longer distances, risking their safety and security. Your doors were locked at 6:20 from the mall side and the hours in the door clearly show 7pm. This location's fine jewelry department is complete G-A-R-B-A-G-E! GARBAGE, GARBAGE, GARBAGE! The customer service here blows beyond belief. Let me set the stage for you: My husband and I arrive at the busy jewelry counter waited in line, there was 4-5 associates helping people and when it was finally our turn the people & lines tapered off. Instead of someone saying "Hey we'll be right with you or someone else can help you while you have another looks around." I witnessed two associates shooting the breeze while we waited. Then another woman who simply walked up within 5 mins received helped. Magically everyone fanned out within that lovely 20-30 minutes and never came back. A whole other woman who clocked in was wondering what did we need help, to finally help. And she only helped somewhat... I wanted to buy a couple of necklaces for my two nieces & asked her opinion on them. She just seemed like she was simply going through the motions. Didn't answer any questions, looking around the entire time. The only reason why we went in the store was because I had already placed an order for them online & wanted to see what I was actually paying for. It would have taken maybe 5 minutes of any of their precious times to sit and help us but nope, they passed up over. Cool, pass us over. Our time doesn't matter either. read more

This Macys by far was the most rundown one I've been to in recent years. I was really hopeful it wouldn't be lacking in variety but yikesssssss. Terribly dire selection and very disorganized. Not only that, almost no one was around to help or assist. The women's dress selection was very limited, offering nothing modest which was a shame. The prices were also incredibly high for how bleak and bland the dresses were. My wife was just as surprised as I was at the expensive limited offerings to be had here. read more

I want to love this store because they have lots of nice things but everything is so messy! Downstairs in the women's area the clothes is pretty much just put where ever. I spend more time trying to sort through clothes than I go trying the clothes on and paying. The men's area is always nice and neat but the giant women's are is not. Upstairs is a little better but the plus size area up there is just as unorganized as downstairs. Oh and the jackets! Tons of great coats but again, no organization at all. Very disappointing when you find something you love but you can't find where it came from to get your size. This happened to me this past weekend and it sucked! I really wanted this nice coat but I couldn't find where it belonged. The children's clothing is severely lacking. It's like the smallest selection Ive ever seen in a department store. Prices are always high on the tags but everything is always always on sale plus 9 times out of 10 there is a coupon code you could use. Oh my why is it so hard to find jeans there? This store just kind of makes me mad lol. It's like I have money and I want these nice things but I can never find where the stuff belongs! Having a sun glass hut in this location is pretty cool, though. I have found some nice deals there and im able to use my Macy's card on them. Huge chain store that reminds me of JcPenneys or Dillards. They could all be siblings if they needed to be. I really am not sure why they have separate stores. When I'm in Macy's I feel like I am in JCP, and when I am in JCP I feel like I am in Macys. I guess different name to confuse others. All the prices and clothing looks the same to me and doesn't really differ. The ladies restroom is by far the nastiest. I mean, how are they gonna have a nice elegant store like this and then when you get to the restroom you just don't understand why can't they just clean it up like they are supposed to?! Ladies restroom aren't supposed to be looking trashy or smelling nasty like that. You have sale associates walking around cleaning up on the outside, but why can't they do that vice versa on the inside. Prices are a little too steep for my bank anyways. read more

I agree with Lauren, the sales are confusing, but unlike her, I don't like looking for the scanners to see the actual cost. If the item is on a 30% rack, I should be able to calculate the price at the register but not at Macy's! (Btw, I can do the math, but the register number is usually different!) Went in to buy some shoes, I showed the associate which ones I wanted, I already had one just needed the other one, so she went and got them for me and rang me out. While ringing up my order she stopped so she could have an unnecessary conversation with her coworker and left me just standing there. After I paid, I checked the shoes to make sure she brought the correct size, as suspected she did not. When I told her this she told me it was my fault and I told her the wrong size, first of all I know what shoe size I wear, second of all I showed her the left shoe and asked for the right, she never asked me for a size because I told her I just needed the match to the one I was holding. The shoe department was overall very dirty, not good especially considering we're in a pandemic. Seemed like Annabelle was more concerned with chatting up her cute coworker than she was with actually doing some work. I guess I'll be buying my shoes from Dillard's from here on out. I asked if she could come show me the different options, she said price is the only difference. I asked again if she could come and show me. She said, fine, I'm going to ring up the person behind you first. While she was ringing up the lady behind me, another employee wandered by and the clerk asked her to show me the covers. The second employee told me she didn't even work in this department so she didn't know much about them. Macy's is my favorite department store by far and this particular Macy's is pretty great. The best thing? The sales. They are having some huge blowout sale practically every weekend. Seriously, they hardly need an excuse (President's Day sale, really?). They also have two day only sales with a "preview" sale the day before which is really just a three day sale. Have you seen their clearance rack? Maybe you didn't realize what you were looking at when you saw a huge section of racks that takes up practically an entire department -- that's the clearance. And guess what, typically they add some additional savings to their clearance during their huge who-needs-an-excuse-to-have-a-sale sales. Macy's also has price scanners. I recently taught my friend my favorite shopping game in the whole world -- the price scanner. I like to think of this as sort of a slot machine of savings. Most of the clothing on sale has a sticker on it but then they have signs posted for savings -- sometimes additional savings or sometimes savings off the original price which may be different from what is marked. The point is, the sales are confusing. I never really know how much something is so what do I do? I take it to the price scanner. Just like in a casino, you win some you lose some. Same rules apply at Macy's. I'll take a pair of jeans marked down from $79 with a 30% off sale sign and scan them and maybe they'll end up being $55 or maybe they'll magically be $27. You never know until you scan. Sometimes I'll take something over from a sales rack and find out it's not on sale on at all. It's a gamble. read more

I was happy when I moved to Alvin that there was still a Macy's close by. They are my primary department store of choice. However, now I'm sad because this Macy's is very sad. Let me explain. First off, I grew up on Macy's California. That meant shopping at the huge Macy's in Union Square in San Francisco, as well as the stores located closer to my South Bay home. I'm sure they are nothing like Macy's New York, but that's ok. They were good. Then I move to Texas and now have this Baybrook Mall location to go to. It does not even come close! The selection of clothing is nothing like what I was used to in Cali. The I.N.C (Macy's own brand) is relegated to a few small racks and that's about it. I happened to visit shortly after a trip back to Cali and Macy's shopping and they don't carry any of the same items. I understand about regional differences but I thought Texas and California were still in the same country at least.The lack of selection in up to date clothing is disappointing to say the least. Then there is the merchandising. Sometimes it would bug me to go to the store in Cali one day, return the very next day and they had changed everything around! Now I can understand why. After visiting this Macy's in October and then going back in December during the holidays only to see the exact same mannequins with the exact same items on, standing in the exact same places as they were months ago; I realize the value in changing your stock and promoting the fashions in a way I never thought about before. This Macy's is stodgy, out of date and frankly; boring. This store is in need of a makeover in the worst way. Recently, I've also had several problems with customer service. You can no longer deal with a real person in the store to take care of situations but must make a phone call instead. I've been disappointed in the ways that Macy's has handled several situations that I have had to bring to their attention; like attaching my husband's social security number to my account and then trying to make me jump through hoops in order to change it back to my own. No, no. I don't do that. Sorry. Written in my travelogue: I've had my Macy's credit card since 1975, but I think it's time to move on now and find someplace new. read more

This review is based one thing and one thing only...the customer service I received both in the housewares department and afterwards via the customer service toll-free line. First, I visited the Baybrook Macy's on Black Friday around 1PM. Yes, it was a zoo. The deal I wanted was already out of stock. A department head helped me order the item I wanted online. He did so because he could override the system to include a 10% off coupon and give me free shipping. He took me to an empty register and ordered it for me on the spot. I did not have to wait in the extremely long line and have a clerk do it for me. My only regret is I can't remember the man's name that helped me. He was extremely helpful and I am grateful. I received the item (which shall remain nameless because it is a Christmas gift) in about 3 days. I was in and out of the store on Black Friday, in about 30 minutes. What more can a man ask for? A parking spot? On Black Friday? Yep, that happened too. I actually found a 2nd row parking spot (even with all the construction) within about 5 minutes of pulling onto the Baybrook lot. I know Macy's has no effect on that but it sure made my trip more enjoyable. Wait...there is more. I noticed today, about 3 weeks later, that Bed Bath and Beyond has the same item for the same price but I have a 20% off coupon. That makes my item $20 less than I paid on Black Friday. I called the Macy's toll-free customer service line. They told me they could email me a free return shipping label. I asked the agent, "Doesn't it make more sense to refund me $20 instead of paying the return shipping? The difference in shipping and my $20 can not be more than $5 or $10." She went and asked her supervisor if that was possible. Low and behold, they said they would refund the difference. So, from parking, to shopping, to their customer service, I have no complaints. Macy's is really about having coupons and deals, but understanding if they apply to what you're buying takes a degree in Macy's Fine Print. I've often been told that my coupon doesn't apply to my purchase for some incomprehensible reason. But sometimes the sales associates are cool and scan a coupon in even if it doesn't apply or even when I don't have a coupon. I had to go to Macy's today to buy clothes for a funeral. My kids and I needed some new outfits and all I want to say is that Caleb in the men's department was charming and was so helpful to fit my son into a suit and then help him pick out shoes and socks and shirt I just wish we were able to get that kind of help at the women's department but my daughter and I we did alright for ourselves it was just nice to have that support and that help he really takes pride in his job and helping people. I don't live in TX but I went there to visit family. My sister & I went there couple of times (mostly for the makeup department) & all the associates were very helpful & friendly. I love the associates from Estee Lauder, MAC, & Chanel; they got me to buy things because they were so good & talking me into it, hahah. I would recommend the ladies to go see Renee if you decide to buy something from Estee Lauder. She was friendly & can make you laugh. During the time when Estee Lauder was giving out gifts when you purchased $45 or more, she even did two different transactions so that we could get two free gifts. Nice right?! I didn't even have to ask her to do two transactions. All in all, I would go back to that department to buy make-up if I'm back in TX. read more

I just have a love/hate relationship with Macy's so I need to update my review to reflect how I view it right now - LOL. Today, I took my 13 year old to get some jeans for school. She loves the Celebrity Pink brand in the juniors Dept. That was easy, know right where to go, her size and they were on sale - cool! Since she's tall and has a long torso, junior tops always seem too short so we headed over to the 70% off racks in Misses and scored! She found a Ralph Lauren pale yellow light weight cardigan normally $100 for $15 - her best find of the day and paired with this sweet tank with birds on it, she has her 1st day of school outfit decided!), but there were many others just off the 3 racks we went through (and I let her get everything she liked because, after shopping at Macy's since I was her age, I know when we're finding great deals). And today, the dressing room was clean, there was room on the returns rack to hang the clothes we weren't buying and we had a nice, friendly cashier. The stars aligned today so that we had a very nice, pleasant and productive shopping experience. If they were all like this, I'd do more of my shopping in store instead of online! read more

I had the WORST experience today at the Baybrook Mall location in Friendswood, Texas. My wife, daughter, and I were with my aunt shopping, and my aunt decided to buy me two pairs of jeans as a birthday gift using her Macy's card. She is up in years (just turned 89) and got a little confused, and she used the wrong card (one that had expired vs the current one), so it was declined. My aunt is hard of hearing, so she didn't hear the cashier tell her that the card was declined. I was explaining it to her while my wife was reaching into her purse to get the cash to pay instead. Well, the other cashier who was there (who was in the process of checking out another customer) took it upon himself to make a snide comment and told my aunt 'well next time you go shopping it may be a good idea to pay your bill before you decide to go shopping' in a very sarcastic way, and was actually smirking when he said it. Now, my aunt may be hard of hearing, but I am not, and I heard it clear as day. So did my wife, my nine year old daughter, and the customer in line behind us (who got offended enough to leave) At that point, I demanded to see a manager, waited about 15 minutes, and nobody came. So I did find another associate and told her what this complete jerk said. Now, I have been in customer service management for years, and I would *never* stand for one of my employees to talk to a customer like that. I have never in my life seen an employee (who wasn't wearing a name badge, of course) completely belittle a customer like that (an elderly customer, at that). Now, I didn't get his name, but did manage to take a picture of him. Because of this jerk's horribly unprofessional attitude, neither I nor my family will *ever* step foot in *any* Macy's store again. You have lost yourself a customer for life read more

What has happened to Macy's? Remember how fun it used to be to shop at Macy's? This department store has turned into a dump. I keep thinking this is temporary but every time I go there it is worse then the time before. It is dark, dirty, cluttered, trashy, un-organized, has rude sales associates, and has dirty & disgusting dressing rooms. You have to walk all over the store just to find an open dressing/changing room. Then when you do, it is dirty with streaked walls, torn carpet, clothing everywhere, and gives you the creeps just to be there. Bringing the clothing into the dressing room completely ruins how you feel about the clothing. I can't bring myself to buy nice clothes after stepping into a dirty dressing room. Why is the carpet still torn up? They have had years to make repairs. Why are all the dressing rooms except one closed? Why is everything so messy all the time? Forget about trying to find underwear or socks for your husband. This department is so cluttered and messed-up you won't be able to find anything. I just don't understand it. Has Macy's stopped caring? What an epic failure in leadership for this once-popular department store. read more

Kate in small appliances needs a chill pill. Before it was our turn she was freaking out on a coworker and begging him to change registers with her because hers was "way too big! This is physically overwhelming! I'm overwhelmed!" We get up to the front and my mom hands her her Macy's cash (a 30 dollar gift card she recieved for spending money at Macy's.) Kate told my mom she couldn't use it. What? She said because my mom didn't print it out she couldn't use it. I let her know that plenty of people don't print coupons and a store as big as Macy's probably has a way to use them without printing. This seemed to piss Kate off pretty bad. She called a manager in a huff, i think expecting confirmation that she was correct and we could not use them. Instead he walked her through how to use them. They were perfectly usable, she just didn't know how. Kate was sour the entire time, acting like she was super put out for having to check us out and use the cash. Suggestion to Kate: learn to relax and change careers. Suggestion to Macy's: train your staff. Although we can't stand Macy's and believe that it has horrible customer service we were drawn in by coupons in the paper for after Christmas sales. So we picked out some things and went up to the register. Waited in the long line and get up to the front and handed the cashier my coupons. She told me I couldn't use them because all my items were on clearance. I pointed at the coupon. It said eligible to use for clearance items. She pointed to where it said not eligible on deal of the day and said that all of clearance was the deal of the day. All of it. So Macy's puts huge coupons on their ad saying that you can use them on clearance but then makes clearance the deal of the day and you can't use it. People in line were as pissed as I was. Come on Macy's, are you serious?? The lady behind us said Macy's was greedy and should be ashamed. I agree. read more

I dont think I have EVER been so angry at a business. EVER. It began on Black Friday when I tried to buy a chair. There were only two saleswomen working and several people waiting to be helped. When I was finally waited on the saleswoman took her time writing up the ticket so that she could sit down . She asked me to wait while she checked her phone since she wasnt allowed to do so on the floor. I asked to load the small chair into my car but was told that Macys did not allow pickup as you absolutely have to pay $65 delivery fee. Delivery could not be for several weeks. Ok, whatev. Macys will not give you a time block until the day before delivery so that you cannot plan anything for the entire day. So, i waited the entire day until my time block. In the last 15 minutes of my block, Macys called to say it would not be there during my appointed time. Long story short, the truck showed up more than an hour later around 7pm. Two days after delivery the stitching on the chair began unraveling. I contacted Macys and arranged for this chair to be returned and another delivered. Another week or so later i was given a two hour time block the day before delivery. Again they were hours late. When the men attempted to assemble the chair in my living room it was a comedy of errors with two sweaty men on my couch with an electric drill. After about an hour of drilling they showed me the chair and it was put together crooked!! They had no idea what they were doing. My husband called Macys to complain (by this time it was 8pm) and they said we were lucky to have these delivery men as their regulars didnt show for work. I sure didnt feel lucky. We had them take the crooked chair back and we wanted them to take the first chair back too, but they refused. So I had to make yet ANOTHER pickup date for them to take the first chair. Four days wasted and no chair. I called Macys and they refused to compensate me for any of my time and trouble because their "computer doesnt allow giftcards or credits". I call complete bs. What a terrible, horrible, no good experience. Stay away. Far, far away. read more

My husband and I were doing a little early Christmas shopping tonight at Macy's. Lee helped us in the women's shoe department, and it was a wonderful experience. She was knowledgable, helpful, and attentive. She even made suggestions of what we'd might like. I realize many times it can be so hectic in the shoe department, but I can appreciate dedicated people like Lee who want to do their best for the customer. It's well kept macys with lots of stuff. I love the clothes but don't like thei coupon policy, because many times they recent coupons. I used to work there and the best price to get is when you look behind the tag. If there are other tags with lower price, wait n come back until the price is set to the lower one. In November 2015, a charge of $14.67 was fraudulently charged to my Macy's account. After receiving my statement I immediately called Macy's and told them it was a case of fraud ( I have never been in this mall) and had them close my Macy's account. In my January bill I received a $2.00 late fee on a closed account( now my balance is $16.67). I receive a letter saying the account is closed then get another statement showing my balance as $35.34 ($18.67 in late fees on a closed account). On January 23,2016, I get a letter saying my balance is zero. On June 2017 I get notice from Experion that there is a late payment reported on my credit report by Macy's. Now I have to get all the documentation I have and try to get Experian and Macy's to remove all the erroneous information from my credit report BECAUSE OF MACY'S irresponsible reporting on a fraudulent charge.
