My daughter and 2 of her friends, went into Dillards to try some clothes on. My daughter tried on a beautiful satin dress, but she didn't like it. When she went to turn it in the cashier lady said that it stunk like BO and there were sweat stains on the dress. Neither one of these things are true. I have had multiple people smell the dress and look at the dress and they have not been able to find even the tiniest thing wrong with it. Not only did they make my daughter buy the dress, but they did not give her a receipt for it. This is an $80 dress that she just wanted to see if it fit her. The cashier lady was very rude to me when I talked to her after the fact. The manager will not do anything to help. She is very much just like the cashier. So from now on for every day, I am going to put out a new yelp review until Dillards makes this right. Because of this eye and the rest of my family will no longer even consider shopping in Dillards and I will tell everyone I know about what they did to me and to my poor 15-year-old daughter. read more

Arrived at 8pm on a Friday night, the Baybrook mall closes at 9pm but apparently the Dillards closes at 8pm. We walked in and got to the 2nd floor before anyone informed us they were closed. By the time we made it back downstairs they said the only doors that were open are the ones that lead to the parking lot - even though we entered through the mall. We had to walk in the dark and cold just to make it back to the other store that were still open. This store closing early is their prerogative, but making us exit unto the street while the police stay warm inside telling us to exit with no protection in the dark is unacceptable. read more

I typically visit this store for their Clinique makeup. The staff at their counter especially Claudia are always so attentive, nice and helpful. Definitely the way customer service should be!!! What a mess. I came here during the busy holiday season in which they were going through some serious markdowns with an additional 15-25% off already very heavily discounted stuff (40-70% off). It was a zoo in this house and I felt bad for the sales associates who were attempting to ring up purchases while cleaning up the pig sty of clothes (out of order and on the ground) left from deal hungry customers. This was also my first time in an actual Dillard's and it felt like a mix of Meyer & Frank, Macy's, and a pseudo Nordstrom's with a touch of JC Penny. Like Macy's, it was ginormously massive. And the brands were non-stop all over the place, with fairly pricy tags to boot. The best find of the day was a $150 Kenneth Cole suit that was stylish and slick. Kudos to my friend who managed to scrounge it up from the suits section. I'll have to keep an eye for a deal like that the next time there is a big sale here. read more

I would like to commend Rachel, in intimate apparel, for her above and beyond service to me. I am 86 and walk with a walker. I was exchanging a gift that I thought was purchased in intimate apparel for a different size. After finding the elevator and going to the 2nd fl. Rachel told me it was in girls on the 3rd fl. I was to tired to go back to the elevator and go to the 3rd fl. She offered to call upstairs then met the other employee at the elevator and brought me the new size. She didn't stop there. She helped me slip on the Barefoot Dream jacket so I could be sure it was the right size before I left the store. This is the kind of service that existed 65 years ago! My mother recently passed away. Before she did, she went shopping at Dillards. It was her favorite store and mine until today. I returned a few items she bought but was unable to return a top she purchased on 65 percent off because it was passed the 3 day return policy. I thought surely they would make an exception due to the circumstances. Because how heartless and compassion less can one be. After speaking with Lori, an Assistant Store Manager about my situation. She stated they could not make an exception. I thought, ok, let me try speaking to the Store Manager Mrs. Williams. Again, condolences were given but no return. It's not even about the 18.90 dollar shirt. It's about the principle of the matter. What happened to making the customers happy and the customers are always right. My family and I have spent thousands of dollars at Dillards. Now, they have forever lost a loyal customer. I mean, how can I ever shop at a Dillard's store again with those types of values? Stores limited. My friend and I went shopping and found what she needed. I found a shirt I liked and I found some Cologne also. The cologne they only had a sample bottle. why put out a sample and you have no product. We had trouble finding someone to help with that and also to ask where belts were. When we were done the store was closing and we asked a security guard that had not moved an inch in 2 hours where a check out were located and he was extremely rude about it saying how the hell should I know that shit. The yelled to a Dillard's employee and asked where we can check out. The lady took care of us, but when we brought up the security guard who was cursing about people getting out at closing time that we all heard 25 feet away the kinda played it off. Shoe department promised me over the phone I was able to exchange my wedding heels for a different pair as I received them as a gift from my mother. My mom had ordered them online a few months back and came into town this past week to surprise me with them. They're too tall and wanted to get a shorter pair that same day. The ladies at the store said they were not allowed to exchange them since it's past 30 days but I just received the gift this past weekend... so now I'm stuck with heels I won't ever wear and disappointed I wasn't able to exchange them for a pair I would wear for my wedding day. Customer service is important to me and if the people at the counters are not nice or accommodating to my needs, I will not buy anything from that store since they can't hire decent people there. There's a "so called" sales woman at the Dior perfume - men's department who thinks she knows it all and can say whatever she wants and still make a sale! I am a fan of the Men's Suit department. I have been buying from Rob for years. Rob has worked in the Men's Department for close to 20 years. He is knowledgable and knows what he is doing. He can help you find a suit or dress slacks. One thing to remember is that when you purchase unfinished slacks that are not on sale, the alterations are always free. If they are on sale, the alterations are not free but the cost is minimal. I believe hemming is always free regardless of sale/reg price but I'm not 100% for sure. On a side note, I have purchased dress shoes from them on several occasions as well. I have had pretty good luck with them having size 13 in stock. With the recent construction, getting around Baybrook mall in general is a pain. Some of the easiest parking for Dillards is located in the two-level garage or on the far north end of the mall. Went to Dillard's on New Year's Day. We tripped over their once-a-year "take an additional 50% off of their already discounted prices" sale. $100 shirts for $25; and $60 shirts for $12 (and some change). This store was wiped out - see photo! We arrived late in the afternoon and the girls that checked us out were smiling, helpful and in great spirits - a real blessing. read more

I ordered a blazer from Dillards online and it arrived a month late. That wasn't the problem-I needed it for work and they had one in store so I popped in and purchased it until the one I ordered, arrived. First, let me preface-the absolute angel in customer service was amazing. They handled my issue and resolved it quickly and efficiently. This review is only for the "new"Manager in the Woman's department. The original blazer I ordered arrived the day before I stopped in. I understand the 30 day return policy and didn't want to waste anymore time and took it in first thing the next day. I explained the issue to the manager and asked her if she could help me with the return. She said no because it had been over 30 days. AGAIN, I explained that Dillards had only just delivered the blazer the day before and that I was not at fault for it being over 30 days. She kept blaming the system and said even if she wanted to, she couldn't help me. At this point she was just refusing to be helpful. I've spent thousands of dollars in this store, and have received amazing-immaculate customer service every other time I've shopped here. You can imagine my frustration. I asked the manager "So if I go to the customer service counter, they're going to tell me the same thing?" And she said "Yes, they'll tell you the same thing." With that, I went to the customer service counter and the associate took the time to look up when my package had been delivered, confirmed I was being truthful, asked their manager for approval and processed the return-in less than 5 minutes. Easy. Done. I recommend that store leadership review policy and customer service with the manager in the womens department. Lack of empathy and effort is unacceptable. read more

Growing up in Kansas, there were really only two stores to buy your Polo shirts and your Guess jeans and that was Dillard's and a local store called Henry's. I always liked Dillard's. It was cool. It was awesome. It was rad. Or, I thought so at least. Fast forward a few...*cough* ok, a LOT of years and while I don't say rad anymore, or wear Guess jeans, I still like Dillard's. Sadly though, the Dillard's at Baybrook Mall needs some TLC. The carpet is ratty and some of the fixtures are looking their age, but the fitting rooms are HUGE which is nice. Ratty carpet again, but it looks clean and again, the fitting rooms are HUGE. And since there isn't a lot of people shopping you can go in and out without worrying about losing your room, or having to wait. I always find them unlocked, but they may do more LP at Christmastime (I avoid the mall at Christmas....*shudder*). Oh! The escalators are death traps for reals! Ok, not really, they just SOUND like it. I mean really, Dillard's you can't pay a maintenance man to come in and fix these, or at least spray some WD-40?! I've never felt unsafe riding these, but they sound like they are about to fall apart. Hopefully there won't be a news story about the tragic loss of life at Dillard's Baybrook...or at least a few mangled flip-flops. I do wear Clinique makeup and skin care, and love the ladies at that counter. Always super helpful and never try and push too much product one me, and they have the knowledge about the right product if I have a question, so that's helpful and much appreciated! I love the bra ladies! These are the little old ladies that have no qualms about touching you or talking about your breasts when you need to buy new unmentionables (as my mom always called them). They ladies will feel you up but it's all in making sure you have the right fit. I think. No, I'm pretty sure that's the only reason. Anyway, they are the sweetest things and I love them! I like the Dillard's store brand of bras (Cabernet) as they are less expensive but just as durable and long lasting as the ones that are twice the price. Plus they have a lot of good BOGO sales on those. I do like the shoe selection there and they are super sweet, and very helpful, but that seems to be the one department that is always busy! And it's kinda cramped, so not as much room as in other departments. All in all, I do like Dillard's. If that makes me an old lady, so be it. I will just go get a part-time job in their bra department when I retire! read more

Typically I refer to Dillard's as "that old lady store". Well that and Steinmart but that's another review. Dillard's used to be an expensive department store with the worst Buyers on the face of the earth or maybe just the oldest. I noticed recently that Dillard's has come into the 21st century and now actually carries clothes for those not living in retirement communities in Palm Springs. Congrats guys! They actually have a really nice selection of designer clothing and the most adorable section of dresses. The downside is that unlike Macy's they never have huge sales, their clearance isn't that great, and everything is expensive. Don't worry though, if you're looking for some designer jogging suits or brightly colored linen numbers they still carry them -- they just sort of shoved them in a back section to make way for something a bit cuter. By the way I'm not saying there's anything with being older and/or wearing brightly colored linen outfits, just that Dillard's really needed to branch out a little. And they did. read more

I would give it zero stars if possible. I had the worst experience with a manager named Jasha. I brought my business to Dillards because my boyfriend works there and wanted to support both him and the business. He helped my sister look at dozens of bags and sunglasses and after 30 minutes of looking she finally decided on the items but the manager said he couldn't check her out because you can't sell to "family" per work rules. However him working there is what brought us in to the store, and I was not the one who bought the items my sister was. Also, he was the only worker who helped me. I spoke to Jasha who was rude, short, condescending, and did not take me seriously as a customer although I spent over $800. She did not explain the work rules and said she did not have to. By far the worst experience I could of had and I would have returned the items except it WAS MY SISTER! While we are dating we are not family, we don't share the same last name, we don't live together, and are legally classified as single. I will call corporate in hopes of giving him the credit he deserves after helping her. Again JASHA was the worst manager I've ever experienced and she should not be allowed to work in customer service given her terrible attitude especially during the holidays. read more

My review is only of the shoe department. I LOVE to wear platform heels and this location always seems to have a GREAT selection of Michael Kors, Gianni Bini, Coach and Jessica Simpson! I think they would have earned 5 stars if the employees were a little more attentive, but once they realize you are dropping $100-$250 on one pair of shoes, they quickly become that way! I went to the lingerie department with the idea that I could find a bra myself. I knew my size and felt confident in my ability to pick one out. I was immediately approached by a lingerie specialist but I let her know that I was fine by myself. Thirty minutes, several failed attempts, and increased frustration later - I asked for help. After a couple of questions from her, she picked out 5 or 6 bras and off I went to try them on. After trying on one, she saw we needed a different size and returned with several. All fit wonderfully. She didn't bring me the most expensive ones, she didn't pressure me into buying anything. She helped me, showed me bras that came in my size, and explained the type of bra I should be wearing and why. I left with three. When I got home, I retried them on after ripping the tags off and found that one didn't fit quite as well as I wanted it to. The next day, I went back expecting to have a difficult time returning a bra without tags. I didn't have a single problem. They returned it and I ended up buying a different one. It was fabulous. I am impressed with their lingerie department and will be returning for all my future bra purchases. read more

After I found it I went to return the Dillard's one back at Dillard's. But they said it had been returned already. I couldn't see how because I had it in the bag the whole time. I normally don't shop at Dillards but I decided to create a wedding registry there for my upcoming wedding. I created my registry back in February 2019 and used their scanner gun to register for items in store. That experience was neither great nor bad. The employee showed me how to use the scanner and then left me alone to pick out items. Yesterday, I returned in order to register for some more items. The store opened at 10:00am and at 10:10am I walked up to the registry desk on the third floor. I waited for approximately 5 min and there were no employees anywhere to be seen. I went looking for an employee and when I found one I asked if there was someone that could help me with my wedding registry. She informed me that "[she] was not trained on that." I asked her if there was any other employees that could help me. She told me that the lady who does registries wouldn't be in until 11:00am. I then proceeded to the customer service counter to ask them if anyone could help me and I happened to pass by a manager on my way there. I asked her if there was anyone who could help me and told her what the employee had said. She told me that the "Home ASM" was in the store and she would get me help. She called for the ASM while I was standing there and then told me to proceed to the registry counter where the ASM would meet me. When I got back to the registry counter the ASM was there and helping another bride with her registry. After helping that bride she got me a scan gun to add items to my registry. She told me to bring it back to her when I was done. After browsing and scanning for about 45 minutes, I went back to the counter to give back my scan gun. The ASM was gone but the normal registry employee was there. She took my gun, helped me add a piece of furniture and told me more about the registries. She asked if I had been given a gift bag when I first registered. I told her I had not and she went and got me a gift bag which was nice. However, when I got home, I pulled up my Dillards registry and nothing that I scanned had been added. I called today to see why nothing I scanned had been added and the employee I spoke to told me something must have gone wrong and I would need to come back in and rescan. After the hassle I went through yesterday and the 1.5hrs I spent in the store registering, the last thing I want to do is go back and do it all again. I also want to add that of all the places I have registered (Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Target, and Dillards), Dillard's registry experience has been the worst and most inconvenient. Both Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond have apps that you can use as a scanner and to view and delete things from your registry as you're scanning which makes them extremely easy to use. Dillards website has also been much harder to use when it comes to the registry compared to the other two stores. An employee at Bed, Bath & Beyond also walked around with me the first time I registered to assist me and give me great information of things like flatware and pots & pans while the Dillards employees seemed very uninterested in me beyond setting up my registry and giving me the scanner gun. read more

I live in a State without a Dillards and used to enjoy the customer service I received when shopping there. Today, I was greeted by the most disinterested rude employee in the women's department. She did not greet me and she watched me load up my arms with clothing to try on and then when I asked her to open a fitting room she looked at me like I was a major inconvenience to her and basically rolled her eyes at me. When she did finally let me into the fitting room she said oh and by the way when you're done trying these on you can just hang them outside here on this rack no offer to check on me or get me a different size. She was sweet as she could be, helpful, and provided excellent customer service. The shoes I wanted they did not have my size, she offered to order them, and when I told her I needed them the next day, she asked me for what I was specifically looking for, and told me to sit down she would bring me any shoe's similar in my size. I called tonight from another Dillard's in Florida to see if they had a particular size in a swimsuit I was looking for since I was flying in tomorrow into Houston- after being transfered to the woman's swimsuit department a woman answered. I told her I was trying to find a size in a particular swimsuit they had and her response was.."I'm busy." I said "I'm a customer" and she said "I have a customer in front of me" after she asked to put me on hold. When she returned she was more helpful but not a great start while I'm already in a Dillard's with a less than helpful associate in the swimsuit department of the Panama City Beach, FL location. read more

I noticed that Dillard's had a few Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Gucci handbags for sale in a glass locked case on display. I asked a sales lady how often do they receive new and or different bags. She said that they have a bunch of them but she would have to take me to view them because they are locked up in a room on the 3rd floor next door to the customer service desk/business office. Being it was my birthday and the previous year we drove to the Galleria to purchase a Louis Vuitton, this might save us a trip if I find a purse I like right here at Dillard's. My friend and I agreed to follow the sales lady to the top floor to check out LV purses they had in stock. We had to wait for a manager to open up the locked room. When the manager finally showed up and unlocked the room, to my surprise the entire room was devoted and full of high end designer purses, wallets, and bags. The room contained items from Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton. The price tags varied and I remember seeing some that were over $2000. I found a Louis Vuitton that I liked and that was priced under $1000, with tax it totaled close to 1075. The payment was made using $600 in cash and the remainder balance on a debit card. The sales lady put the LV handbag in a brown plastic Dillard's bag with the receipt and handed it to me. I asked if she had a LV bag and she said no they don't have bags for them. Then she said wait a minute and stepped back into the room and came back out with a dust bag and put my new purse in the dust bag and back into the Dillard's plastic bag. The dust-bag she gave me looks nothing like the real LV dust bags I had. Also it looks just like the dust-bag that a LV bag my ex-husband purchased from E-bay years ago thinking he bought an authentic item. Come to find out it was not authentic. I started examining the new LV from Dillard's and noticed several peculiar characteristics of being an imposter. I began to do research on the internet and low and behold the peculiar characteristics are identifiers on how to spot a fake LV. In order to be certain I wanted to take it to the LV boutique at the Galleria Mall in Houston. I took it there and was told that they are not aloud to authenticate for legal reasons but off the record the gentleman said that the item I showed him was not one of LV's products. A couple days later I sent Dillard's Corporate an e-mail demanding a refund or I was going to the media. Corporate forwarded the email to David Dotson who persistently began to e-mail and call me everyday until I answered the phone. He wanted to know when I was coming in so they could render the situation. He also inquired as to why I believe the LV handbag was not authentic. I was unable to meet with Mr. Dotson until today. I brought the purse along with the miscellaneous authenticity cards that were in the inside pocket of the purse. One of the cards guaranteed authenticity from What Comes Around Goes Around and that the item is an authentic Louis Vuitton Manhattan PM and that it is a vintage/used item. I took with me documents I found through research to show Mr. Dotson the validity of the purse not being real. I also printed out an article showing him that Chanel is pursuing a lawsuit against What Comes Around Goes Around for this exact reason. He went inside a room with two other ladies and discussed who knows what for quite a while. He finally came out not saying a word to me nor acknowledge me at all and just asked for my drivers license. He scanned the proof of purchase tag and retrieved a gift card and scanned a store credit of $1000 and handed me the card. I said are you not going to give me my money back. He asked how the transaction was paid for and then said there was no way of locating that transaction. I told him it was rang up on the station right outside of the door behind us. He said that didn't matter and that he normally would not even be doing this. I asked him if they were going to continue to do business with What Comes Around Goes Around and he finally spoke and said they most certainly are because this is the first problem they have encountered and does not believe that the bag is counterfeit. I also asked him why his staff isn't adequately trained to identify merchandise that are imposters. He had no answer for that. The differences between the authentic LV purse I was carrying and the fake LV I was returning are obvious differences and are clearly seen when comparing the two with each other. I have read posts by other customers who have experienced issues with Dillard's selling replica high-end designer bags. Dillard's is deliberately deceiving customers by selling counterfeit handbags as the real deal for high-end designer prices. I have done enough research that I can pinpoint the web-site from China that What Comes Around Goes Around is purchasing these "used vintage" handbags from. If Dillard's was selling authentic LV, Prada, Gucci, and Chanel items then why are they locked up in a room on read more

If you like being discriminated against then this store is for you. Apparently no one has had proper loss prevention training. They base their suspicions off of skin color and the way one dresses instead of actions and behavior, how it should be. They followed my black boyfriend around the store and stared him down the entire time until I walked up (I am a white female) and then their entire attitude changed then we received nothing but smiles and customer service then. Had a VERY uncomfortable experience in the men's section at this Dillard's. Shopping with my dad we had a very professional sales associate help us with his shopping, her name is Farrah. While she's helping us, she gets called back to the office by her manager (we are not sure why). She asks us for a few minutes and she goes in the back. Unfortunately she was back there for more than 15 mins and we couldn't wait. My dad told the cashier that Farrah was helping us. I don't know if the cashier chose not to use her code for the sale or if he couldn't but as he's ringing up the items, Farrah returns and is obviously concerned if the gentleman used her sales code. There was an awkward interaction between all the sales associates in front of us. It seemed like they were all against Farrah. She was rightfully upset. The management poorly handled this situation and because of that, we won't be back. read more

The men's shoe department followed my adult sister's every step until she eventually left because he was closely and uncomfortably following her. An older black female employee with a pixie haircut followed me around the entire time accusing me of shoplifting. The first few comments and stares, I ignored. Then I picked out a cardigan and walked a few steps away while calling my mom to find out where she was because I wanted to show her and the lady asked me where I was going and I told her I was waiting for my mom. She asked me where my mom was as if I was lying. I said the fitting room and she had the audacity to ask which one! And yelled at me saying I have to pay for it right then and there as if I was going to steal it?!?! What a JOKE. I turned my back and waited while on my phone. 5 minutes later I took a few steps forward and saw her STILL watching me. I said are you seriously watching me? Is there a reason why you're watching me? ONLY me when there are several other (white) people in this department? She walked away as I was talking. I did not buy the cardigan BECAUSE of her. I no longer wanted to spend my money there. I'm so incredibly insulted. You don't know who I am or what type of person I am. I never did anything to be suspicious except fit the physical profile of what you think a shoplifter looks like. What kind of discriminating customer service is this? I'm sure there are people out there who shoplift but if the upper management are telling their staff to follow Asian female adults around, then YOU are part of the problem in this prejudiced America. If you want to watch- watch from a distance. Watch everyone. Be subtle. But you're going to follow me around and then chase after me yelling in front of everyone to pay for it as if I wasn't going to IF I decided I wanted it? I have been a returning customer for so many years, but I will NEVER spend another dollar for this disgustingly prejudiced department. To all my fellow Asian females- spend your money elsewhere.
