I had the best experience at Macy's with Susan and the manager. They were both so helpful, kind, and went above and beyond in customer service. I was checking out at closing and then there was a technology glitch that caused the transaction to take longer than expected, but they remained patient and friendly and even helped me get things to the car. Attended the Spring Beauty & Fragrance Gala yesterday 12-5 were the hours advertised in advance. We brought our tickets last week in Great Anticipation! A Gala in Bend! Um. Well. Dearly me. The Gala consisted of a DJ , a raffle, and about 48 dollars worth of Costco: cookies, crackers, pre-cut cheese, pre-cut pineapple and whole strawberries. No goody bag full of samples, no fragrance reps handing out samples. No glasses or champagne or plates of fresh shrimp. No Amazing Deals of combination sets of product offered at super prices.... For the first time in years I missed Seattle. Seattle, with its luscious event, spanning a significant portion of the floor, dotted with helpful, eager reps quick to proffer a lipstick sample, a perfume miniature... We were met with some store employee wearing what could only be described as an aging stewardesses dress, all orange, shouting over the DJ, "All I need is your name and number!', referring to the raffle tickets available for all... not just those who had tickets in advance. Apparently, this 'Gala' amounted to no more than a 15% off fragrance and beauty. For anyone passing through. We think the staff here at this Macy's misses the point. Especially distrustful employee at the Sunglass Hut here, more concerned with the whereabouts of certain pairs of sunglasses, we later realized that she was concerned we were lifting them? , firing questions at her colleague (before assisting us with procuring the product we were asking for), 'Where are the round ones?! Did you move the others?! Where did you put those other ones?!' Good God. This female employee was so concerned we were there to steal, even though we wore the VIP wrist bands (yeah, ha ha.). Later, we realized she was peering into our shopping bags AFTER we bought two pairs of sunglasses from her... sheesh. This store location does not represent the brand. Abysmal service from store clerk at one register, excellent customer service from Customer Service representative at another. At one register, we spent $278, this is how our purchases were packaged and handed to us. read more

Wow, where do I begin. You walk into macy's and you're met with a satisfactory aroma, floating over beautiful clothing items and everything you could think of. The workers are nothing but kind, perfectly tailored to helping customers navigate the twists and turns of the large building. Though the price can be hefty, the product is usually of value. You're sure to find something aligned with your budget and critics, but never fear if nothing at all. When I was not able to purchase my specific item, the angelic workers saved the day. They granted me a makeup bag filled to the brim with testers and skincare galore. I love Macy's, but the lack of customers sometimes saddens me. Why are so few willing to venture through the isles? So often an occurrence, but so often a sorrowful one. Perhaps the prices are too hefty, often even for me. Maybe lowering the prices and adjusting the feel of the store would grant more business. I was visiting the cosmetic department and their counters were a little short staffed. After having to wait for help Employee Lilyanna noticed I was waiting for a while and I was irritated after I had been skipped over with service to another customer who just walked up and was helped over myself. Lilyanna's was quick, helpful, extremely attentive and wanted to make sure I was taken care of and happy. I'm going to chime in on another box store, again, not my thing. That said, Brenda at the Bend Macys is awesome. She has historically worked in the children's section and has been my go-to person at the store going on 5 years now. I have a boy and a girl, the boy super picky, the girl just has a certain sense of style that I don't get. I pull a lot of items from the rack in the hopes that the kids like them. She knows exactly where to steer me and I thank her for helping me be a successful shopper. My kids have just about grown out of the kids section, but I was in last month to pay my bill and she immediately greeted me "hi Camille". I hadn't been in for months. Great customer service in my book. They've redesigned the store a bit, and now she works just past the children's department, I don't know if she's expanded her merchandise horizons, but that's where you can find her. If you need any help, I would recommend Brenda hand's down. I love each age the kids reach, my only loss will be not having Brenda as my shopping consultant. i hope Juniors are able to help me. Absolutely despised the layout of this Macy's with an overabundance of perfume & cosmetics in the prime center-of-store location and home goods shoved into the outer corners. Store wasn't busy but help was no where to be found. After a frustrating 30 minutes trying to find the merchandise I was looking for only to discover the sales prices posted was for Macy credit card holders only, I put my purchases back and vowed to shop online in the future. Went shopping here last night (11-8-12) with my wife for a semi-formal dress. My wife is not the kind to ask for help... even when offered by a salesperson. But last night, something about Liz and the way she approached us made me say, "Yes....sure....why not?" To my utter amazement, my wife nodded in agreement. That sealed the deal. Liz was amazing. Have you ever seen Pretty Woman? It was just like the scene where Julia Roberts goes into the store with Richard Gere and the staff falls all over themselves doing anything and everything possible to satisfy the customer....in this case, my wife! First off, Macy's has NICE stuff. Very nice stuff. Second, Liz knew how to listen and get a real feel for what my wife was looking for. Finally, she was spot on picking out several dresses and classy accessories, darting here and there and bringing them back for her to try on and model for me. Her taste and selection and enthusiasm were contagious. We spent over two hours having a wonderful time SHOPPING. In the end we had several thousand dollars worth of fine clothing to choose from and had to narrow it down a bit. Liz never made us feel inferior or self conscious because we didn't take them all. She was gracious and helpful to the end. I never thought I would write a review like this about a shopping experience at Macys. But after last night, I knew one was in order. Why 4 and not 5 stars? I don't know. It really could be 5. But five to me says, "Yeah...as good as it gets" and I'm really trying to reserve those for THE BEST. I can honestly say this was the BEST clothes shopping experience in Bend. For me. For my wife. Okay....I'm changing to 5 stars. It really was THE BEST. Uhhhhh! Zero service! Zero. The rooms were in shambles, truly. Utter chaos on a Sunday. Wow. I finally found 3 shirts and some shorts in all the millions of sales and get to the register (where the gal is much too busy to check me out) only to find that nothing is on the "supposed sale"! I'm sick. Seriously? "Well," she says, "you can donate $25 to our charity and you'll save 10% for the rest of the yr." That's 10% for another 4 months. Oh boy!! I was shopping for something to wear to my son's graduation last night. I had to work late, so I didn't get to Macy's until about 7:30pm. I knew they closed at 8 and heard the announcements every 5 minutes leading up to their close. I had to pee so bad before checking out, and I put my clothes I was going to BUY on the counter by the register so I could quickly duck in the restroom. I told the 2 ladies at the sales counter that I would be right back to pay, and just needed to use the bathroom. In a very impatient and rude tone, MONICKA said, "you know we close in 3 minutes!" I looked at her and said "I am aware of that and I will be as quick as I can!" When I came out, I gathered my clothes up I was purchasing and went to a different register where STEPHANIE was more than happy to check me out. As it was, I was at my car and leaving the parking lot by 8:05PM. I hardly kept them past closing and was treated in a rude, rushed fashion. I shop here all the time and most of the ladies I know. This Macy's has been clearly outdated, and other problems way before Covid19. I am not sure who their buyers are. They do well with the shoe dept. depending on what's in stock.. what's in stock, especially when they have Santana boots. Purses are ok. The clothing tends to be too old fashioned, and limited. Too many florals. There are not that many people anymore to help. This is a small Macy's, and it shouldn't be. Bend, Oregon is the metropolis of all of Central Oregon. It's been a very long time since they have updated it. I know they are closing other businesses, but I think they would do a lot more business in this location if they would give people a reason to go there, especially since Bend seems to be lacking good updated clothing stores. I called the Bend, Oregon Macy's today, and had one of my worst experiences in a retail store in many, many years! I called for the men's clothing department, and after 10 prompts to get there, a girl answered, and said please hold. The whole time I was on hold I could hear her talking with a customer and a fellow worker for 7 minutes, and hung up on me. Typically I would not have called back, but this time I thought let me see how long this might go on... I called back three more times totaling 19 minutes. The same person answered with the same response... Please hold. I could hear her talking all four times, and after a few minutes still hung up on me. I finally called back and selected 5 different departments before having someone answer, and was rude to me, and then said okay, I'll walk over to men's department, and ask them your question. I told her I was then calling for the store manager, and she just said, sorry they're not here today... I read recently that they were one of the chains that are closing... Good riddance! I'm from Portland and have lived in Bend for 3 years now and have been shopping at Macy's cosmetic counters because a girl needs her makeup fix every once in a while, and I always seem to have a great experience here. The girls at the counters in the middle of the store (Clinique, Shishedo, Origins, etc.) are super nice, and we always have something to chat about. I love that women of all ages work in the cosmetics section here, it's nice to know that there's a lot of diversity, even though I'm only 20 and most of the employees are closer to my age. I especially always enjoy my experiences at the MAC counter... is it bad that most of the makeup artists know me by name when I walk in there? Haha. Makeup is the one thing that I adore in my life about being a girl. I have tons of guy friends, play sports, and don't really ever like doing anything girly. I am so glad that I can walk into the cosmetics section at Macy's in Bend and always look forward to having a fun conversation and awesome experience, all the while learning and testing out new products of great quality. read more

I went to Macy's today to shop for Christmas gifts. I was very much blown away .of what I've seen the clothes were ugly looking . Nothing. Dressy or formal looking for the holidays. . dept after dept the clothes are not up to standards ..and it's not the style and quality that Macy's use to sell. I am a customer for many years . I came home and Then decided maybe I should order online .maybe the clothes would be better . I picked out a few things after an hour looking at clothes on line. Two pair of gloves and two shirts for my daughter . When I went to enter. The coupons they sent me in the mail . They are invalid and do not work .so I called the customer service at 11:45 PM.. the Indian man on the phone that didn't understand what is trying to tell him. Tells me the coupons will not work .and that I did not even have namebrand clothing . I feel Macy's is closing up .they're going downhill really bad and they did it to themselves. Also I called two weeks ago and it kept getting on the phone the same Indian man . He did not understand what I was telling him. when I asked him where is he from . he said I don't have to tell you where I'm from. so I think Macy's is directing it calls out of the country. I made a special trip to the store to purchase a product for which I would be given an "Estee Lauder Free Gift", which was being offered through September 19. The sales associate said the offer expired Sep. 16, and I didn't have the flyer with me that said otherwise. Once I returned home and reread the flyer, I called the department manager, Kim, to bring it to her attention. She was very polite and offered to rectify the situation, but I didn't want to take another 45 minutes to go back to the store. I've lived in Bend for 27 years. The Clinique shop here has been my go to since then. They usually have a staff of 3 of 4 that know the product and customers. There are several new sales associates and they are TERRIBLE. Yesterday I went in to return the WRONG product that the new sales person sold me on Sunday and the two new older women were OBVIOUS about not wanting to help me. One that I walked up to greeted me, when I said it was a return for wrong product, she looked at the other lady there and said "you can help her" and the other one said no and walked away. THEN a third younger one showed up and proceeded to hairspray her hair right there at the counter. After the first lady looked for my product and couldn't find it (they have been out of stock on items i get regularly the last three times Ive been in) she then tells me why the liner the clerk sold me on Sunday is better and I should just use it. I asked when new product will come in she says "who knows". I just got done ordering my product online ($70 lost sale to Macys) thanks to their lack of product in stock and TERRIBLE customer service. read more

Arrived at 10AM after a year long absence due to illness. The "Last Chance" clearance department is a horror. Clothes laying on the floor on every aisle; sizing all mixed up...what a giant mess. We went in with a pricey bracelet purchased at another Macy's across the country (with no receipt) hoping to have it resized. The manager of the jewelry department was exceptionally determined to find the bracelet in their system, as they didn't sell it in their store. Though it took several phone calls and searches, she was able to find the bracelet and get us what we needed in order to send it in. Amazing work, manager. read more

This Macy's is awful. It's small and not a big selection of current trends. The security guard is creepy and spends most of his time talking to the young women employees. There's not a lot of product knowledge within the departments and most of the employees aren't very friendly. I noticed that before asking me if I need help, they like to stand around and finish gossiping about one another. Some departments work on commission and are super pushy sales and when I do end up making a purchase, I'm asked every single time if I want to open a Macy's store card or asked to donate money to a charity. Even when I purchase something in one department and then purchase something in another department, I am asked every time if I want to open a credit card account. In regards to donating to charities, your money is better spent on donating directly to the charity of your choice. I knew an employee that worked there and was told that Macy's sets a "goal" and when they reach or exceed that goal they keep the money and count it towards profit. That's deceiving people who think that their hard earned money is going to a good cause, when in all reality they are making a profit off of your donation. I will not shop at this Macy's ever again! I would rather shop online and take my chances. At least the employees have more time to gossip than to help me! read more

I had the worst experience. Son bought me a coat for Christmas. It was too small. I called the company to see what I could do. I wanted to buy a larger size and have it shipped. I was on hold for a very long time...was disconnected, called back and on hold again for a long time. Finally I reached a gal that told me to take the coat back to my store and have them order larger size and have it mailed to me. I went to the store only to be told that they couldn't do it. So sales lady gave me an in store credit of $122; went home without my coat (which I loved). I went home and looked for it online. I found it on Amazon for $89.00. I was going to buy it but wanted to use my Macy's credit. So, I called Macy's once again and was given a couple numbers to call back EAST who they said had it. This is after being on hold quite awhile again. I called the store back East and was able to buy my coat in the correct size but was charged $147. I was told to take my coat, once I got it, to my hometown Macy's and have them give me a credit for the difference in the price. The salesman forgot to use my in-store credit card. So I was charged for the $147 and then credited for $122 at the store. Now, I still have an in-store credit. This is hard to explain. All I know is that I did a lot of work to get my coat. Poor customer service to day the least. Seemed like no one knew what to do. It was all so frustrating. read more
