They do have beautiful clothes. However, I went in to buy a few things and mentioned my budget. I should have asked how expensive the boots suggested to me were but I (wrongly) assumed the the person helping me would not go (much) over my budget. She never told me how much they were even when charging my card I did not get to see the amount ($1,095) until I was already home and checked my banking statement. I realize that I should have asked but I honestly feel a little bit tricked by the employee...I'm sure they are used to very wealthy clientele but that should definitely not be an assumption. read more

I won't return. Out of my price range and very unwelcoming staff. I'm giving two stars because the stores vibe is great, if you can get past the price and lack of customer service. Unfortunately I felt a little like pretty woman on her first visit to a high end store. Totally snubbed at the door. Not a word was spoken to me or my husband. I am sad to be writing this review, but I feel like I need too because I am a little upset. We were so excited to check out this shop, the employees were welcoming, and there was a great variety. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience when purchasing a necklace. When going to buy the necklace, one employee couldn't determine if the price was 150 or 750, she called another employee over and the two, after looking at with a magnifying glass, agreed that it said 150. I'm not an expert in jewelry, so I went along and bought the necklace. Later, I decided to look it up later that evening and I was overwhelmed to find out the price was actually 750. I'd never take advantage of a local and genuinely cool shop, so the next morning I went back to let them know of the mistake and to get my money back as well get them theirs they deserved. While they were thankful for what I did, I was told I could either lay away the necklace and pay over time or I could get the 150$ back as in store credit. I recognize their return policy (which is in store credit) however I felt I deserved to be refunded as this wasn't just a typical return, and it was one that actually benefitted them immensely. If I truly wanted to I could have went by the receipt policy of all sales final, and told them no I didn't want in store credit and left with the necklace. When a customer takes time out of their day to fix a mistake made by an employee that would've cost 600$, I feel the situation should have been handled in a more considerate and professional manner. All being said, great store, but unfortunate experience. read more

Our second year in a row to stop here while vacationing in the area. My young adult daughter and I just really love this place. The staff are just really nice, friendly and helpful. There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything regardless of how many different items you try on. We arrived and didn't realize they were closing until it was about 5 minutes after. I profusely apologized that we were keeping them and (the owner?) was soooo gracious. She even offered to hold something for my daughter so we could return the next day. And the next day we returned to the same friendly and warm service. The clothes at Hot Box are unique, beautiful and well made. Unfortunately, nothing was fitting my daughter that day, so we left with nothing in hand. But, we'll be back next year and try again. read more

I bought a pair of Frye booties at Hot Box Betty and 24 hours later I noticed that, since I tried them on in a pair of thick socks, the shoe was too big. The store's owner, Chris, was very gracious and giving of her time. She called her rep. with Frye (wholesale dealer) and they did not have my size so she runner-up buying the Frye bootie through a retailer. In addition, she paid for expedited shipping! I am very grateful to Hot Box Betty's owner, Chris, because she took the time and energy to resolve this situation for me. And, lastly, the Frye booties are super cute! read more
