I love this Macy's! It's my favorite in Austin, TX. It's always sparkling clean, has helpful associates and an awesome selection.

WORST customer service ever!!!!! This is my first time and last time shopping at Macy's online! I bought four items and I went in to exchange three of them at the Barton Creek store. The charge for the three replacement items showed up on my credit card, but the refund didn't. When I went to the store, I was told they have no record of the refund. Essentially what it boiled down to is that they don't believe me. So I guess I'm out $123! In the future I'll only shop at Nordstrom. read more

I like it there but I always end up shopping at either Dillard's or nordstrom. It needs to get revamped or something like that. Too bad no MAC line in this store. They have wide selection of senior citizen clothes more than youth or missy Kinda bummed about it. read more

Macy's at Barton Creek Mall is old, decrepit, and EXPENSIVE for the same products found elsewhere in the mall and around town. I wanted to buy some Levi's men's jeans, so first I searched physical stores in Austin on-line - Penney's, Dillard's, Academy, Beall's, and a few more. I also looked on Amazon.com. The consensus was that Levi's sold for $34.95 everywhere. So I figured I might as well buy locally, and besides, I wanted them today. I went to Macy's at the mall and they had signs all over their Levi's section that said, "buy one get the next pair half-price". It sounded like a good deal - until I checked the price of the jeans. They were charging full MSRP - $54.95 - for a pair of jeans. The total price for two pair, without tax, would be a bit over $82. The other stores, at $34.95 a pair, would have charged $69 before tax. So for one pair of jeans, Macy's would have cost $20 more than anywhere else. For two pair, it would cost an extra $13 for a pair. I asked to speak to the store manager and was told there was no store manager; each department manager runs their own department how they want. I talked to the manager of the men's clothing department and she was like, "meh, sales prices change from time to time". I told her that her store was much more expensive that the others in the mall and elsewhere for Levi''s. she didn't seem interested at all. I left and told her that I would NEVER shop at Macy's again! If I want to pay extraordinary prices for everyday items, I'll shop at Nordstrom's! read more

I think that the prices at Macy's furniture dept. are competitive and the service can't be better. Especially Cynthia. She is a great sales person. read more

I had a great experience with Mel in the men's suit department. I came in on Tuesday and needed a suit right away. Mel helped me find just the style I was looking for. The size I needed wasn't in stock, but he found my size at the Domain store. He was very courteous and I will be back the next time I need a suit. read more

Macy's delivery is the worst, don't buy furniture or bed from them, they charge $100 for delivery and if you miss your schedule appointment it takes another 2 days for them to come out again. My scheduled appointment was from 9-11 they left at 9:15, and I called to try and get them to come back and they refused. read more

Would like to second Gina H's review of Dora in cosmetics at Macy's.....Dora is unfailingly helpful, friendly, and polite....The younger sales girls need to focus on the customers, not their cell phone, and for Goodness sakes: stop chewing gum so enthusiastically! read more

I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel so ripped off and taken advantage of I just want to cry!!! I had simple expectations of purchasing quality furniture and having it delivered in perfect condition on time, but unfortunately that's not the way it went. I was given verbal confirmation over the phone with someone at Macy's that my furniture would be delivered on Friday, October 6th if I got in early enough on Wednesday to place the order. I changed my move-in date to a day earlier to accommodate delivery and paid an extra $36 to do so. This way my furniture would be there when my mother arrived on the 7th from out of state for the week. Went in to purchase my furniture and was told unfortunately delivery wouldn't be possible for Friday. So I went ahead with the next soonest delivery date which was the following Friday the 13th. I wouldn't have any place to sit for the entire first week of living in my apartment so I was rather upset. I decided not to make a fuss and just wait. The following Wednesday before delivery they said they couldn't deliver that week because the accent chair wasn't at the warehouse and was still in Atlanta. I said I still wanted my sofa delivered as scheduled because I HAVE NO PLACE TO SIT DOWN. They said the sofa couldn't be delivered either because the accent chair wasn't ready. I guess this would've been AN INCONVENIENCE for THEM to have to deliver twice because of THEIR MISTAKE. It was an inconvenience for me to have to take off of work on the 13th. It was an inconvenience to have take off of work the 20th when the furniture was delivered. The delivery guys forgot the 'red carpet' they roll out to protect your floors. And I was awful nervous hearing all the banging and "I thought you had it" as they were coming up the three flights of stairs. The furniture looked fine upon first inspection, the guy was super friendly and they didn't seem to make a mess so I signed for it. Now that I've had a chance to really inspect the furniture there is a corner of the armrest that is slightly dented and missing finish. The front left leg has a scuff and is missing the glider on the bottom. The chair rocks and isn't supposed to. All these things are minor inconveniences by themselves, but all added up have made for a really shitty experience. My saleswoman suggested to call for an inconvenience credit. I did. She offered me $25. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but WHAT A FUCKING JOKE! And they'll come to fix the furniture, but it has to be on a Thursday. And no you can't schedule a time because they set their own schedule the day before. So yea, I'll have to take off another day of work if I want that to happen. I'm not happy with my experience buying furniture from Macy's. Now that I finally have a place to comfortably sit it reminds me of this really shitty experience. read more

Poor service, uninformed sales people, poor knowledge of products. Sale signs are put on shelves incorrectly (or on purpose) and the article is higher priced when rung up. No one in attendance at some of the departments. Managers never available. No one answers phones. No answering devices. Labels on some Dockers products are wrong. That is the mfgr fault but Macy's does no quality checks or checks to see if the labels match the products. Bad experience. If I spend $10 worth of gasoline to go to the store I expect at least $10 worth of service read more

Was fearful of going to the cosmetics department cause you know how some of these women can be. Once i reached the Estée Lauder counter I was greeted by a woman named tonya who was, in lack of a better word, AMAZING! She took the time to answer my questions and ACTUALLY listened to what I said. Never tried to sell me something I didn't want or that was so expensive I couldn't afford. Some cosmetics departments are all about the all might dollar and pushing the latest and greatest thing off on you, but not at Macy's Barton Creek. Thanks for changing my mind about all cosmetic sales people Tonya!!! I will be back. :) read more

Let me start by saying I like Macy's. They have never let me down when I needed new bedding or kitchen ware and have some great sales. This was my first visit to Macy's in Austin and should have been 4 stars, but and it's a big but, they let me down. I was there on labor day and they were busy but having some good sales. I needed a dress for an appointment I had the next day. I found two really great Liz Claiborne dress marked down to $29 from $119. I tried them on and they fir like a charm. Wow, what a deal. When paying for them with cash, mind you the cashier, let's call her Edna asked me 4 times if I wanted a Macy's credit card. I get that they have to ask and maybe they even bonus if they sign you up. I said no 4 times and had to go into my life story about how I only carry one credit card and that is the reason I have good credit. At that point, let's call her Edna told me that well, when I do get a Macy's card, make sure to do it at a promotional time. I could have sworn I just told her 4 times that I had no desire for a Macy's credit card ever & explained several reasons. So, I'm off with my dresses and ready to head out. As I walked through the door back into the mall I heard a little beep. I didn't stop because I knew I hadn't taken anything, there were several other people walking through and my 12 year old son had already been nagging that he was ready to go home when I was paying for the dresses which took longer anyways because of the hard pitch for a credit card. When I got home I was re trying on one of the dresses to make sure it matched the shoes I was planning on wearing with it the next day. Much to my dismay it still had the little electronic devise on it. Seeing my distress my machinist friend takes the dress and says don't worry I'll get it off, and he does. Now there is green ink running down my lovely bargain black dress and we are frantically rinsing the dress in the sink. This would have been an almost comic scene were it not for that fact that I am fairly pissed off. If Edna had the time to ask me 4 times if I wanted a Macy's credit card, surely she had the time to take off the electronic thing a ma bob. Isn't that right up there in priorities with getting payment.? So I grab my cell, call 411 get through & let the person who answered know what happened as I hang on to my receipt and she immediately says let me put you through to a manager. She transfers me to the black hole where I wait as the phone rings for 12 minutes and then I just hang up because I have lost patience and know the manager is never picking up. I'm sure I'll go back some time but Macy's you let me down. read more

I bought a couch from Macy's 18 months ago. I also purchased the extended warranty for stains and spills. Just yesterday I noticed the stitching on the seem of the cushion was coming lose. I called Macy's and also called the warranty company....neither one of them will fix it. TOTAL RIP OFF. Only had the couch 18 months and already falling apart. Don't buy the warranty from them and don't expect them to fix their faulty furniture. Those sales reps must just tell you what you want to hear b/c I would have never imagined that they wouldn't fix this. It's faulty and structural. I will never purchase anything from Macy's again due to this. There are other companies out there that cover there products. I would understand if years had gone by but it has been 18 months. Not Cool Macy's....good luck staying in business with these kind of practices. Hopefully people will smarten up and skip Macy's for furniture shopping. read more

Rented a suit here for daughter's wedding last July/August. Got another daughter getting married soon in different state (Virginia) and was hoping they still had measurements from previous fitting. Nope. Sales person April said no problem, spent good 20 minutes taking new measurements for me, wrote them all down on their form. DO NOT GO HERE. I cannot believe the customer service I received by their manager Jose today. I came into Macy's to return a gift I received in the mail. I brought the receipt I received in the box. When I tried to return it, their employee Jeff (wonderful by the way!) was having problems with the barcode on the receipt not ringing up. He tried multiple times and different ways to no avail. When he called the manager, Jose was also unable to find a resolution with the barcode so he told him to treat the return as if I didn't have a receipt. If you do not know, Macy's has the worst return policy if you do not have a receipt. They take the lowest price that the item was in the last 6 MONTHS and give you that value. The lowest price on my item was $28, but was currently selling for $100. That is a BIG difference. Jeff refused to do my return for $28 and thus Jose came over to try and "help". Jose said he went through Macy's records to find our specific order and couldn't find it. He then kept explaining that he wasn't finding anything, but insisted on showing us what he was doing. Eventually he did find the order, and what do you know, my friend ended up paying $100. We ended up finally getting the correct amount returned to us in a gift card 45 minutes later. My entire problem with all of this, and what I kept saying to Jose, was that this wasn't our fault but we were being treated as if it was. We were following their rules by bringing our receipt so we could avoid their bogus exchange policy, but he kept treating us as if we were wrong. I told him this is terrible customer service to not give the correct amount to your customer and basically pocket the $72. The receipt was Macy's fault, not ours. No effort was made on his part to make us happy, and he didn't even attempt to. He had a fake smile on his face the entire time and kept saying "sorry, I can't find the return in our system". I have the receipt! What more do you want!? Do not treat me with such blatant disrespect, and do NOT tell me that your crazy exchange policy is "lenient". One of your main competitors, Nordstrom, allows you to return anything at anytime, without a receipt. Their customer service is infinitely better and I will never shop at your store again. read more

For the furniture department: great black Friday deals but the sales agents really push for you to buy insurance (no means no). Still haven't even scheduled a delivery date for me after two weeks so minus one star and minus another for being pushy. read more

I had two items to return and the sales associate was very helpful and the whole process as easy. Less than 5 minutes total.

I love Macy's but......if you are going to offer coupons - why have so many restrictions???? For whatever reason (and there are many) they just never seem to apply to your purchases! Just don't even bother offering them - that way you don't have unhappy customers. read more

Pretty scary reviews. Sorry folks but I had an excellent experience. My fiance and I are getting married(second time around for the both of us) so I stopped at the mall, really not having a clue. Macy's was my third stop and my last. I was helped by a gentleman named Mel. I explained that I haven't a clue as what to wear.I also made mention that I didn't want to break the bank as I hardly ever wear suits. In fact I can't remember the last time in which I have. Mel asked a few simple questions and had me out the door with a new suit, tie, shirt and socks in around 30 minutes. He was extremely professional and right on tarket with his suggestions. Not only that, but we had some good conversation as well which made my shopping experience all the more pleasurable. My suggestion to anyone looking for a suit in the Mall? Go to Macy's and ask for Mel. I should mention that I saved a few hundred dollars with his assistance as well. THANKS MEL! read more

I'm giving Macy's two stars because I bought a watch there a few weeks ago and the experience was pretty good, despite the fact that we had to wait a few minutes to be helped. However, based on my experience in the men's shoe department today I'd give them zero if that was an option. I went there with the intent to buy a pair of Timberland shoes and while I was there I also found a pair of Sperry topsiders that I wanted to buy also. However, there appeared to be only two people working in the shoe dept. and they were both helping other customers. One of the people behind the counter acknowledged me and said he would help me in a minute, but while he was helping the elderly couple before me a line started forming behind them. When he finished with the elderly couple he started helping the people who came up after me. I guess I should have gotten in line. Not what I normally expect in a shoe dept. The lines continued to grow so we left without buying the shoes. We parked by Nordstrom and as we walked by their men's shoe dept. I counted six employees helping customers. We walked up and someone came up to us almost immediately and asked if they could help. I bought a pair of topsiders there but they don't carry Timberland so I'll order them from Amazon. My advice - save yourself some time and frustration and go directly to Nordstrom or Amazon. Don't bother with Macy's. read more

This is a complaint about the handbag dept. at barton creek mall. First I buy a leather calven klein purse, the lining rips 2 months later. Ok weird maybe it's bc my keys snagged something. I then go back to exchange it and they tell me they don't have it at that store that I need to go to the Lakeline one bc the computer shows there are two left there. I then go to the Lakeline store (30min away) and they tell me oh no we don't have that purse here. Wha?....that I need to order it online. Ok so I do. Later get it delivered and some dumbhead leaves the alarm on it so now my ass has to make a 4th trip to Macy's to get the alarm removed bc who knows what happens if I try to remove it myself. One lady at lakeline was nice and said that just bc the computer says there's an item doesn't mean it's there. That you need to ask whoever is in that dept to personally call the dept./store they're sending you to before you go. And btw I did ask the call to girl to make sure it was there and of course the phones were down..hmmmm..who knows if that's true. read more

Absolute HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Buyer beware, their furniture is cheap and not built well. We've had broken furniture delivered to us now twice, and now have to reorder a third time to get this right. On top of the issues with broken furniture, we've been misinformed on a number of occasions about the promotion we bought into, being told that no minimum payments were due, etc. Only to find out that isn't the case and that payments were in fact due each month. Fortunately, we kept checking our account and finally was able to deduct that payment was due. Had we not paid, we'd of lost our 12 months of interest free dues and this would of hit our credit. Disorganized, poor quality products, misinformation, and just overall one of the worst shopping experiences we've ever had.. after spending over $6,000 in furniture from this retailer it's been nothing short of a huge rip off and waste of money and time. Avoid buying furniture from this place at all cost. read more
