I was having problems with my iPhone X from the moment I got it. I ordered it from Apple and had a problem with transferring things over from my old one. I waited two months before I did anything about it because I just knew it was going to be a nightmare. Finally I decided I was tired of not having email on my iPhone, so I stopped into MacSolutions Plus. There was one customer at the counter, but two employees on the floor, so I was waited on rather quickly. I explained to the rep what my problem was and he didn't act like it would be a big deal at all. He asked me a few questions, helped me change my password, then a few clicks here and swipes there, a little magic fairy dust, and the next thing I know, I'VE FINALLY GOT EMAIL ON MY PHONE!! After that was fixed (which seriously took MAYBE five minutes), I asked him some questions about upgrading my iMac and setting up a network in my house so that all my devices communicate with one another. He told me my options with the iMac, gave me a brochure to take home and read, and then gave me some pricing to have someone come to my house to work on that network thing. I've been in this store a few times for other things and every single time I've walked away a satisfied customer. I don't know why I thought this time would be any different. read more

Brought my iMac computer here hoping it could be fixed, I knew it might be far fetched but thought I'd give it a try. Wound up it was the logic board like we had thought which would have cost close to $600 to repair. This was a hard decision but new iMacs now are $1100 not the $1700 we paid years ago. We decided not to repair it and paid the $40 service fee instead. Hope our decision was the right one, we weren't sure even if we repaired it how long it would last but now all our information is right now gone we have it on an external hard drive so hopefully it is ok. The growth of this local business - in spite of the Mac Store centrally located in WNY - is admirable. It's not grown so big it's forgotten its WNY roots, definitely Western New York's Apple Specialists, with Apple Authorized Sales and Service. Although (in my experience) Mac computers seldom need repairing, I have brought my computer to MacSolutions Plus, trusting them emphatically with my "baby" overnight. You don't have to call ahead nor wait in a long line, just lug it in if you're able, or they'll lend you a hand from your car. I've always been greeted by a friendly associate - no attitude - a nice touch when you're cranky from some computer problem. While no one here claims to be a "genius", you can bet they are tops at what they do with the certifications to prove it. The rates are fair and turnaround quick. Isn't that what consumers dream of in the computer consulting and repair business? There is a streamlined process to getting your computer fixed here, friendly and understanding initial consult prior to sending the comprehensive customer report to the "techies" who are actually, in my mind, geniuses indeed. And darned fast. Communication is superb, all your options clearly reviewed and regular contact is maintained; no computerese, plain words to describe your problem AND your resolution. I've never felt anyone was being salesy, ever. Since my computer is aging, I had a question about the newer computers, not wanting to either OVER or UNDER buy, and got a straight and impressive answer. And no worries, it's not like trading in a car, with some chump high on his horse somewhere out of sight writing some bogus number on a sheet of scrap paper. They'll give you a fair trade-in amount. Lastly, the place is full of all things Mac (except the iPhone) and name-brand accessories. When I purchased a case and screen protector for my iPhone, Jennifer even volunteered to apply the film and assemble the box. It was the same as her personal case, she added, and cheerily got the phone out-the-door ready. There are monitors, bags, cases...all sorts of Mac stuff. You can take a class, or sign up for one-on-one training. They offer on-site or remote service, too. And if you need a hand carrying your computer to/from your car, they'll assist. Wow. I will preface this review: I've worked in small business my whole life and I understand it's very different than walking into the Apple store. With that being said, from the moment I dropped my computer off I had an uneasy feeling. I went in there knowing my motherboard in my laptop needed to be replaced and was referred from the Apple store. I was not interested in that, only in retrieving data, which the Apple store doesn't do. Communication was horrible, and I got a rude phone call telling me my Apple ID and password were incorrect, when they actually wrote them down wrong. Additionally I was told I needed to come in and sit next to the tech while he was working (which would have been fine); but he made his own schedule so they didn't know if he'd be in over the weekend. Then I didn't need to come in. I had to call them two times to figure out what was going on. First call, no info. THEN! The second phone call they tell me everything is ready to get picked up. I drive 45 minutes and my computer is not available to take as it's still dismantled in the back. I usually can take things with a grain of salt, but this place irked me enough to write a review. I received the data off of my computer onto my external hard drive for a bill of $97.00. They offered to ship my computer but I will admit I'm nervous about that also so I'll be driving back to get it... read more

Last week my iPhone 5 broke. It started restarting itself over and over. I troubleshooted the issue online and it said that I needed a battery replacement. Apple didn't have any appointments available for at least 4 days, and well... I can't live without my phone.. (or at least I thought I couldn't). On Tuesday I took my phone in and I was told they needed to order a battery because they didn't have one in stock... Needless to say it arrived on Thursday and I took my phone back in and dropped it off. After work I went back to the store to get my phone, and it passed all it's tests. But..... Then I turned my phone on and it immediately started restarting itself again. The staff was very helpful and she tried several times to activate my sim with a loner phone so I wouldn't be without. Unfortunately I have a difficult phone company and after trying 5-6 phones, we just gave up and I left my phone in their very capable hands.... Then Friday came around and I popped back in. I was told they had asked for a replacement phone for mine, and that it would arrive on Saturday, and the manager was kind enough to activate her sim on a phone and let me take it home to just use on my home Wi-Fi. Overall, I can definitely say I had an amazing experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They were also friendly and it showed that they genuinely cared about helping their customers which is not the feeling I usually get from visiting the actual "Apple" store in the Galleria Mall. A while back, I got my phone repaired here, the service was quick and reliable, but that's to be expected. The parts never failed y the time I got a new phone. What makes this store so great is that in contrast to Apple stores now, you don't need an appointment to come in and have something fixed. You walk in, tell them what's wrong, and they look at it and fix it. And since they are apple certified, they don't void any warranties and you don't need to worry about parts failing sooner than they would with your run of the mill 3rd party Tech store at the mall. Not only that, they didn't even charge me to clear out debris from the audio Jack in my laptop as it was an easy fix for them. If I would've tried that with an Apple store, no doubt they would've charged me for such a simple fix that still required an appointment for a completely different day than the one I came in at. read more

Never go to this place if you're looking to fix anything Apple related. My mom went here to try to merge her iPhone 7 data with her new iPhone 13 and they completely wiped everything off. All photos (including photos from my wedding day), texts, notes everything was gone without a backup. They failed to put a backup of the original 13 so everything is completely gone. The staff had no idea how to backtrack or fix it after the fact. We are furious and disappointed. Never ever ever go here, and do not trust the workers. Service was the number one reason I decided to come here. After driving all the way out to the galleria to have the tech support lady tell me "we're all booked for today, you can go home and schedule an appointment online" I was very unimpressed. I had tried calling prior to going and a machine told me I needed a serial number so I thought it would be easier to just go in. Regardless this along with the other five star reviews brought me to mac solutions and I was not let down whatsoever. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. No appointment was needed and he looked at my MacBook right away. It ended up being something that was fixed within two minutes and he ran a diagnostics on it just to be sure. ALL FOR FREE. My wife and I have had several occasions to take our Apple laptops and/or iPhones to MacSolutions Plus and the folks out there have always been terrific. Several things they managed to fix while we were waiting and a couple of times there was no charge. When they do charge us it is a very reasonable rate. There's been a couple of times I had to leave the device and they always call back within 24 hours with an estimate and the job gets done quickly. They call when it is ready and I've typically had my device back in a 72 hour timeframe if not sooner. These folks are the best...and you don't have to wait forever for service like at the Apple Store. read more

Needed help backing up my daughter's old phone before we transferred it to her new IPhone 11, something the Verizon store on Niagara Falls Blvd. refused to do even though we bought the phone from them (and two Apple 5 Watches). About time that I write a review on one of my favorite businesses in the area. Have bought computers, had repairs done etc. They are very reasonable in terms of prices and wait times. NO LONG LINES! They never make me feel rushed in the store. I feel that they have the same amount of accessories as the Apple Store. Eastern hills mall has less crowds than Walden galleria. Do not go here. I repeat, do not go here unless you want terrible customer service and to be taken advantage of. I had to come into the store 3 times and my problem is still not resolved when it should have been a 5 minute interaction and fix on my first visit. The owner and his wife DO NOT know how to run a business and take care of customers. DO NOT GO HERE. The employees have no idea how to deal with customers and one of them even tried to SCAM me and sell me a charger for $70 when I knew I was able to get a free one under apple warranty. If I didn't know about the warranty I would have been scammed out of $70.... And then when he finally ordered me my free charger and I returned to the store it was only the cube... I asked him where the cord was he told me that my cube was broken. I then preceded to ask him how he knew that considering the fact that he never tested my charger or my cube to determine that. And what would you know, it was the cord that was broken.. like I told him the first time I was there...He then finally ordered me my charger on my THIRD visit to the store. This being said I didn't have a charger for my computer for a whole month while I was in the middle of my college semester with all online classes and most certainly NEED my laptop. I expressed my upsetness with the owner via email and his wife got back to me with a 5 worded response without address my issues and frustration with their business at all. They not only messed up numerous times with helping me, but caused me an insane amount of stress every day waking up and having to find someone to borrow a charger from that day or I wouldn't be able to go to class and do my school work, and worst of all they never apologized or said anything addressing my issues. Recently I went here to get my MacBook looked at and declined for them to fix it, even though I didn't get it fixed they opened it up and tried to see the problem. When I went to pick up my MacBook it had a lot of scratches on the back and on the screen ( I only had 3 tiny scratches on the back before I brought it in) and the screws were jammed into it. When I took it to another company to get it repaired when the opened it they found some sand like matter that's like a reddish color as well as purple ones as well. I never open up my computer because I don't know how, but the only ones that did was macsolutions. I tried to call and ask about it, but the "partial" owner was very hostile and rude. All I asked was to speak to the one who fixed my computer and I was told "NO!", and was told that she's not taking responsibility for anything. I will be taking further action. Do yourself a favor and just go straight to the Apple store. Update: the store sells bath bombs which looks exactly like the stuff that was found in my computer. read more

Unfortunately, I was not happy with the repair service I received at MacSolutions Plus. I brought my early-2011 Macbook Pro in for service, certain that it needed a new Magsafe board. I was correct, and the repair was completed in a satisfactory manner. However, once I got my computer home I realized that a good portion of my keyboard was failing to respond. I brought it back and asked for a second look, since the keyboard worked perfectly before the repair took place. They took it back in and initially told me it would be done while I waited... which I realized was not the case after walking around the mall for quite some time. So, I told them I would leave and check-in via phone in a day or two. A few days later, I received a call telling me they found two major issues: 1) my battery had "exploded" (the tech's words, not mine), and 2) a small amount of rust was found inside the top-case which would need to be replaced. I couldn't afford the repair, so I told them I would pick the computer up as-is and bring it back when I was able. Upon pickup, I inquired about the battery. The saleswoman (extremely nice and helpful - she was saving grace for the store if you ask me) checked it for me. She said that while it had expanded slightly, it was nowhere near "explosion" levels and they were able to get it back into the computer just fine. I accepted her answer, took my computer home and just out of curiosity checked the keyboard... which was working perfectly. I have a few issues: 1) First and foremost, the keyboard problem should have been detected before I was allowed to take it home in the first place. I was given a laptop that I was told was in working order, and it was not. And it wasn't until I drove back, wasting my time and gas, that I found there was a problem with the battery and the case. Why wasn't this found initially? In all seriousness, perhaps the techs should try to type a simple sentence before they call a computer fixed and hand it back to a customer. It was nice of them to waive the repair fees the second time around, but honestly... I shouldn't have had to bring it back. 2) I don't really appreciate the salesman telling me initially that the keyboard repair could be done while I waited. He had no idea what was involved, and gave me an unrealistic expectation for my visit. I had to walk around the mall for much longer than expected with my family, including an inpatient 19-month old. And whenever I would try to pop into the store, this lone salesman (there didn't seem to be anyone else there to help) was so busy pitching products at great length to other customers that it was extremely difficult to get his attention. And when I did talk to him, he just told me to wait longer (even going so far as to recommend that I stay until closing with no guarantee that it'd actually be done, which is insane). Overall, it was a huge hassle and waste of time. I really wish he would have had me just check the computer in to begin with. 3) Telling a customer that their battery "exploded" (not a technical term, unless I'm mistaken) is just stupid. It did nothing of the sort, and I would expect a more professional diagnosis from a seasoned repair shop. I was not told anything about the condition (I initially thought it was in pieces, which it was not), whether it needed immediate replacement, or whether it could be fit back inside the computer. And since there were no detailed notes made during the repair process, the saleswoman that gave it back to me had to take the back off and check the condition of the battery personally just to answer my very simple question. 4) My biggest issue of all: my conversation with the technician lead me to believe that the way to fix my keyboard was to replace the top-case. There was absolutely NO mention of the fact that the computer was already in working order, and that the problem I brought it in for had been resolved. Thank goodness I didn't have the money for the top-case replacement when it was recommended, otherwise I might have spent nearly $200 unnecessarily. This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable, and has ruined any trust I may have had in this store. If I bring my laptop back, how can I be sure that the recommended repairs are legitimately needed? How do I know it's not just a way to rack up a few extra dollars, and take advantage of customers? For this reason alone, I could never recommend repairs from MacSolutions Plus. TLDR: Their sales staff is nice and helpful for the most part, and if I was going in to purchase something I'm sure it would have been a very smooth transaction. However, I was entirely underwhelmed by my repair experience there. I realize this is a locally owned business and I'm not trying to shoot them down, but I think I have a personal responsibility to post what happened so that future customers can walk in better prepared than I was. read more

No comparison in quality of service, skill level and attention to customer. Everyone there who helped me with a "clicking hard drive" on a MacBook 15" laptop was great. Very professional, helpful, and patient. Did I say patient ? They walked me through the process, explained what I would pay and what I wouldn't, anticipated and or probable results without a false sense of what they could do. They diagnosed the issue and replaced the hard drive for under $200.00. Very happy customer, these people are the best kept secret in Western New York Apple computer service. Great customer service! Needed a battery for Mac Book Pro, they did the repair right on the spot threw in another small repair job free of charge. Very knowledgeable staff, not demanding but patient and walked me through a few questions I had about system updates. Called Saturday, the parts were not in or rushed as promised. Called back Monday, the parts still not in. Each manager spoken with continued to give a run around with no solutions. My daughter came home from college on the Thanksgiving break. She was very upset as she was having problems with her Macbook and the Apple store near her school told her there was nothing they could do for her, claiming it had water damage. When she got home, we took it to MacSolutions plus to see if they could help. They did a whole diagnostic on the laptop within 5 minutes after we walked in the door and said a tech would need to review. Within an hour after we got home, they called and had it all repaired. They said it was such an easy fix there as no charge!! And this was all on the Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving!! I dont know why anyone would ever even walk into an Apple store when MacSolutions plus is available. They are fantastic, have all the same products as the Apple store, and their service is as good as it gets!!!
