Biggle Store - Outside. It doesn't have a large sign so look for the decorated windows.

Biggle Store

This store was a gold mine for Edmonton souvenirs, and the surprisingly impossible to find anywhere…read moreelse in Edmonton, postcards. Totally was worth the trip into south Edmonton about 2 miles away from the city center/main tourist area. The store is in a regular commercial area but in an area that I don't think many tourists would be venturing normally, unless coming specifically to this store. The store is a bit hard to notice if you're not looking for it, I think the name might be on the awning that was retracted on the day I visited. Look for the decorated windows. They recently moved from another location a few blocks away in the same area, FYI. Inside it is fairly spacious and well lit, the staff was friendly and helpful to me and several other people who were visiting at the time. They carry a wide variety of Canada branded souvenirs, along with Alberta and Edmonton specific items. They also had a smaller selection of items from the bordering provinces of Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and also Manitoba. This store was the ONLY place in Edmonton that I found postcards and refrigerator magnets. When I travel, I try to keep the dying art of mailing postcards alive, and Edmonton provided a huge challenge to me that I wouldn't have been able complete without this store. They carry Canadian Maple syrup in a large variety of sizes and shaped bottles along with maple candy. They have a good variety of postcards as mentioned, along with the usual pictures, coffee mugs, flags, and other things usually seen in souvenir shops, and prices were less than you'd typically see in the more touristy areas. A lot of pictures from their old location had pharmaceuticals and supplements (ginseng, milk powder, etc) but I didn't see as much of that in the new location. I almost took off one star as there didn't seem to be much sourced from local vendors in Edmonton/Alberta, but given that literally nowhere else I went in Edmonton looking for souvenirs had postcards or magnets, or really anything "souvenir-ish" specific to the city/province, I'm grateful that this store exists! Hopefully they prosper and someday may be able to move a bit closer to the main tourist area of the city where they'd definitely fill a need and might get more foot traffic. If you're looking for souvenirs in Edmonton, this shop is a must see.
