    Mediterranean Bowl

I want to be a fan, and I keep giving them a chance, but they always forget something or make mistakes. Today I asked for a cup of ice and a mediterranean bowl. They forgot about the ice and I had to remind them. Then I got home with my mediterranean bowl, it had no chicken, and when I called they said it was their fault for forgetting to ask if I wanted a protein added. But they didn't offer any solution, no refund or exchange for my bowl that has no protein. Unfortunately my other visits have been similar. I once asked if they had fresh orange juice, they said yes, and then when I ordered it they said they didn't have enough to actually serve to customers. I'm still not really sure what that means, but that's just one additional example of the type of experience I consistently have here. Hopefully the service improves so I can come back because the food is actually good adding a picture of the bowl I paid almost $20 for but had no protein at all

Very good experience here for a quick coffee and sandwich on the road. I ordered a latte and an egg sandwich. Both are amazing. Highly recommend

From the moment I walked into Macondo, I was struck by the beautiful ambience--warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. The space was impeccably clean, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome with their attentive and friendly service. The food was a standout: not only did each dish look exactly like the photos, but the flavors were perfectly balanced and clearly crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Everything tasted freshly made, and the presentation was just as impressive as the taste. I also had an Espresso con Panna, and it was divine--freshly brewed, rich, and smooth with just the right touch of cream. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. I'll definitely be returning. Macondo is a gem that delivers on every front: atmosphere, service, and flavor.

I stopped by here for a cup of coffee while exploring Little Havana area. Its a very authentic and cute cuban coffee shop. Offers a colorful ambience with the wide variety of coffee, light bites, sandwiches and more! I got an cappuccino with coconut milk. Other milk alternatives are available as well. The spot is also located in an adorable container style shop. Perfect and affordable coffee if you're exploring the Little Havana area!

Located on Calle Ocho, Macondo Calle 8 is the perfect spot for coffee and a quick bite while either walking on Calle Ocho or simply needing a break from Soccer. We were doing a Soccer training in the fields directly behind Macondo and it was super convenient so we decided to stop in and check it out. We went with the Corn Arepa and the Iron Man for breakfast options. The had small pan de bono that looked amazing but we decided against it. The Corn Arepa was very small and bland. I was expecting more corn flavor with cheese and my wife reminded me that's more Columbian style Arepa and what I got was Venezuela style Arepa. Honestly I can't keep up with the different style Arepas but it wast very enjoyable. Her Iron Man breakfast was also very bland. The sausages were not good. They tasted like the inside of pigs in a blanket and not even cooked all the way through. In fact her dish for the most part was luke warm. We weren't impressed with the food but we noticed patrons coming in and out mostly with coffee. So maybe that's what's best to order. Outside of the food, the restaurant was very clean and the service was friendly and helpful. And having electric outlets on the tables as well as the ability to watch your kids play soccer from inside was a definite plus in my book. Next time I might just stop in for the coffee.

This is my new work from home spot. It's so cute and so adorable - it's a perfect place to get your work on. There are also a lot of outlets! I got the coconut cold brew and my sister got the avocado juice. The menu is also has a lot of options - and they serve breakfast everyday! The service is also great, and everyone is super nice. It's a good place to get your coffee and explore Little Havana (:

The Shakshuka was okay--perfectly edible, but nothing memorable. The Steak & Eggs was pretty much the same: decent, but definitely not worth the premium price. The biggest disappointment was the pancakes. They were dense, had noticeable lumps in the batter, and were nowhere near as light and fluffy as good pancakes should be. The syrup also didn't taste like real maple syrup, which was surprising considering how expensive everything is. Speaking of prices, Café Bastille is seriously overpriced for what it delivers. The restaurant also wasn't cool enough inside--the air conditioning struggled to keep the space comfortable, which made the meal less enjoyable. The one bright spot was the service. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did an excellent job throughout the meal. One more thing that is becoming increasingly frustrating in Miami: the bill already included a mandatory 20% gratuity. While I always tip for good service, automatically adding 20% regardless of the experience feels excessive. This trend is getting out of control and takes away the customer's ability to reward service based on merit. Overall, this feels like a place designed more for tourists than for locals. Nice presentation and good marketing, but the food simply doesn't justify the prices. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back.

LGBTQ+ friendly A special shoutout to Melanie -- she makes an amazing coffee and is always so friendly and attentive. The latte temperature is perfect, and the foam texture is exactly how it should be: smooth, creamy, and well-balanced. My favorite is the 10 oz latte -- I think it has the perfect ratio of milk to coffee. Every time I come here, the quality is consistent, which is something I really appreciate. The pastries are delicious, and they also have great sandwiches. Overall, this place has a great atmosphere, quality coffee, and a lovely team. I happened to be in the area so I checked out this place which was pretty cool. They had bar seating, couch seating with tables as well as outdoor seating. A lot of people were there working on their computers while having drinks and pastries. I had a salted caramel latte which I ordered at the computer and was served quickly. I requested it with oat milk, but it was made with whole milk and the barista had no issue remaking it for me, which was nice. The flavor was amazing with just the right amount of salt and caramel; it was not too sweet and it was very smooth. The only issue I had was the parking, there was absolutely no place to park so I had to double park in an alley and run in to get my drink. However, I imagine if you live or work in the area it would be a cute place to pop in and get a beverage. They also had empanadas and some various pound cake slices which people were partaking in so I imagine they were decent.

The standout of the entire meal was the tres leches French toast an absolute 10/10. It was rich, perfectly sweet, and honestly one of the best brunch items I've had. The seasonal fruit platter was also a 10/10 so fresh and beautifully presented with honeydew, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, and a side of blueberry yogurt that tied everything together perfectly. The breakfast burrito, however, was more of a 5/10 very basic and didn't stand out compared to the other dishes we tried. Overall, the experience was still enjoyable, especially because of the incredible French toast and fresh fruit platter. I'd definitely come back for those alone, but I'd probably explore different savory options next time.

Food Quality: We ordered burgers, which unfortunately were overcooked. My husband decided to send his back, and while the second attempt was better, it still didn't hit the mark. We also tried the fried chicken sandwich, which was decent but fell short of the excitement promised in the menu description. Hunger vs. Quality: I was too hungry to send my burger back, so I ended up with a well-done burger that lacked the juicy flavor I was hoping for. It's disappointing when you anticipate a delicious meal, only to have it miss the mark. Pricing: I also found the prices a bit steep, especially for the drinks. The juices felt overly expensive compared to the overall dining experience. In summary, while Cafe Americano has potential, my experience was just okay. The food quality and value didn't quite align with our expectations. I might consider giving it another try in the future, but I'd approach it with a bit more caution.
