Worst venue I've ever. Steep dark stairs with zero markers to get to awful balcony seats. I'm 5'7" and this is how tight the seats are.

The place is dark, with no signage to speak of, and the balcony seats are outrageously tight!!!

We came to see Eric Gales and the legendary Buddy Guy 9-16-23. The venue is big, was surprised to see loose chairs placed very close together for main level seating. Front row seating is right up next to the stage. Long, slow lines for bar service on the main floor. Went downstairs for the bathroom and was surprised to see a much nicer bar with no lines. Security was laid back at entrance and not visible inside. Not the best venue, was just ok.

Historic venue that so much potential, but clearly hasn't been giving the proper attention. It's a smaller venue and sorta bootleg in my opinion. Floor seating is comprised of folding chairs. They honestly weren't too bad for a comedy show, as it didn't last that long, but I can't imagine sitting in them any longer. Also, the rows are crammed together, so if you weren't paying attention that someone was walking behind you to lean foward you are as good as hit. I'm not sure what was going on with the air situation but it was hot AF. Packed in like sardines and sweating just sitting there made for a funny and very uncomfortable show. I couldn't wait to get out of there!

We came into town for the Reo Speedwagon concert. This was out first time at the Macon City Auditorium. It's a super cute venue. The lines were long to get into the show and they wrapped around the building. I'd suggest bringing an umbrella if rain is expected cause there is no cover. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. There is a really cool bar right across the street from the venue so you can walk over for a drink after the show.

I went to the auditorium for a concert. This was my second time attending an event here. The place is in need of some updates, but the price of tickets for both events that I went to were half the price of what they would have been at a venue in Atlanta. I have only sat in the balcony. The view from the front balcony area is pretty good. Although seats on the floor seem more desirable, they look like folding chairs and I'm sure they would get uncomfortable and crowded after a while. The balcony seats are like old school padded theater seats. Concessions and restrooms are on the lowest level, so this may not be the best place to wear heels ladies.

I have no prob paying for great seats to a show but I paid way too much to be uncomfortable the entire show,!

Saw Jill Scott on 3/2, bought front row tickets thinking we'd have an incredible time - Jill was AMAZING, the seating was HORRIBLE! The chairs in the front row were ziptied together. WTF?! Numerous ppl complained that we were crammed in & literally sitting on top of each other but every staff persons response was either 'i'll see what I can do ' , or 'its because of the fire marshal, we don't want anyone to rush the stage'. The fuk? Why would I pay almost $1k for 2 tickets & be uncomfortable just because the venue/fire marshal - whoever - wants to use the front row as a barrier? Did they oversell the first row to make more? Why not space out the front row seats a bit & put up a barrier BEHIND the row if they didn't want ppl trying to come up??? The row right behind us wasn't cramped like us. I'm so disappointed! And the fact that the box office staff told us 'we've never had so many complaints before' really has me wondering if this was done due to it being a primarily Black crowd this was mostly a 30+ crowd just trying to vibe. Like my neighbor (who I was so close to we got intimately acquainted during our 3hrs of trying to shift & adjust so our bodies weren't overlapping) said - "it's not like we're all 100# stick figures!" Being close to Jill Scott was great but the place is so small sitting a few rows back would have provided more comfort & enjoyability as well as kept a few dollars in my pocket. Overall I'm extremely disappointed. I know my review won't mean anything to the staff or change anything (if this really is how the front row is set up for ALL shows) but best believe I for one believe in the power of social media & word of mouth & will be posting everywhere possible & telling everyone I can about the very poor seating experience I had!

Can you park at the Sun Trust parking deck for City Auditorium events?

I am unsure, but there is plenty of street parking up the hill and also adjacent to Macon City Hall.

This was my first time here and we went for the Tequila & Tacos event. The entire space is massive. I didn't realize that outside wasn't the only space, there's a "hidden room" behind a bookshelf as well as an indoor bar / seating area and another outside seating area. I really enjoyed the environment with the live music & food trucks giving a variety of options to choose from. We ordered the tequila tasting & also the margarita tower. 10/10 for both of those. The bartender we spoke to was very helpful in explaining the drink deals and helping us choose what to get. Our drinks were made quickly and we found a nice seat by the stage to listen to the music. The band was great, really enjoyed them. We also decided to try out 3 of the food options. We ordered chips, salsa & queso from the stand by the bar. When the woman packed the sauces into the bag the tops weren't secure and the queso spilled to the bottom of the bag. I asked my fiancé to go back up and ask for it to be replaced but when he did the woman wasn't up there. So we made the best of that & just ripped the bag open & ate them how they were. Next, we ordered a chicken quesadilla from a tent on the side and asada tacos from a different truck. The tacos took about 10 minutes while the quesadilla took about 45, honestly maybe longer. The tacos were alright, nothing spectacular but they weren't nasty. For the size of the meat they could've used more cilantro and onions on top. But taste I'd give a 6/10. We noticed a line of people waiting for food forming at the quesadilla tent and since we still hadn't received ours I asked my fiance to go ask about it. About 10minutes late ours came out. I can't give a rating on food because we left shortly after that & just took the quesadilla home. Overall we had a great experience here with the drinks & music. And will definitely be returning for date night.

We went on 3 nights (Saturday,Sunday & Monday). Saturday night it was basically empty. We ordered 1 drink a piece which were pretty good actually, but there were only maybe 10 people including the bartender. There was NO entertainment, DJ, not even the Jukebox was playing so we left. Sunday night was karaoke and there were approx 25 people there with a DJ and it was decent until the hefty birthday girl and her buddies started twerking and acting silly on the stripper pole before they left. Sunday night we returned after hanging out downtown and realized that Robert Lee Coleman would be there, so we decided to check it out. His performance was wonderful. It is nice to see that he continues to play and enjoy his craft in his later years. I pray that the band of misfits he plays with are taking care of him and not using this elderly man for their financial benefit however meager it may be. The one young guitar player to his back left by the speaker appeared to be high/drunk not able to see or walk and had to be helped off stage. Once he sat down at a table he seemed to nod off several times before he was removed just to reappear a few minutes later full of energy and vitality. What did they do to him or give him I am not sure. But, a certain medication that will remain nameless, can be given to offset the bad effects I suspect he may have been given. Overall, I believe this place truly has potential it just needs the right owners, management, and staff to turn this place around.
