Carne asada is the same story - light on the spice so hit it with the lime. The real MVP is the chorizo tacos. Burrito Wednesday - buy one get one half off. The dark horse is the Luigi alla charra - grilled chicken with beans and crispy fried bacon. Salsas are yummy and spicy. My only complaint - sour cream sometimes tastes dry? Not funky or bad but dry. Not quite sure what all the fuss is about. Husband and I went after reading the Yelp reviews and found most things -while edible- we're very very bland. We ordered: Nachos with beef- mostly just uncovered chips. Beef was moist but flavorless. Shredded beef tacquitos- covered in a PILE of lettuce and while I ordered the two topping off guac and cheese, there was barely any of each... But don't worry, tons of lettuce. It's a shame too because my husband had guac with his and it was delicious! Beef was dry and flavorless. I found Macho Nacho about a year ago, through the word of another. I had been a longtime customer of Cluck U wings, in the same strip mall, but had never ventured inside and considered it a sub-par version of "Taco Bell." I could not have been more wrong. My first visit was to bring a Chimichanga home for my wife, her request. When I saw the generous portion, including chips and salsa, I was so pleasantly surprised. The taste and texture were out of this world, and I compared it to much higher-end Mexican restaurants. The place isn't much to look at...kind of a "bodega" or cafeteria feel. For take out, you just cannot go wrong. Everything I've tried is off the charts good, and it's consistent. That is so important to me, so I'm comfortable referring others to an establishment. I believe they make all of their salsa there, and some of it gets really hot. Do yourself a favor, drive past Taco Bell and give Macho Nacho a try. read more

It's authentic Mexican to me...especially with the fresh corn tortillas and red & green salsas (out of this world good). Just go. Now. Let me preface this by saying I am on a low carb diet and my counterpart from work who has been craving macho nacho all week is pregnant. So, walking in I was like "welp here goes my diet" i LOVE mexican food and this stuff is authentic. But I stayed strong and ordered a veggie dish (not expecting much) -- i actually ordered the spicy habanero veggies, hold the tortilla, hold the rice. Out came the most glorious, and i repeat glorious platter of vegetables, lettuce and black beans tossed in a delicous homemade spicy habanero sauce. For yummy Mexican food at a very reasonable price, Macho Nacho is hard to beat. I've been coming here every month or so for the last 2-3 years whenever I get a craving for Mexican fast food, like a burrito, chimichanga, or whatever. Always good, always huge, always cheap, always fast. The chimichanga, for example, was almost the size of a small Folgers can - absolutely huge, with good stuff inside. The venue itself has zero charm - they put all of the money made right back into making great food. This is a great little hole-in-the-wall Mexican place. Throughout the years it's been open the menu and quality have been consistent and dependable. The nachos are the titular item. They use a grated cheese that solidifies when heated rather than a liquid cheese which is my preference. The tacos are about as good as you're going to get. They of course have the standard tex-mex offerings: I'm a fan of the steak chimichanga. Try the tortas, you won't be disappointed. In the end, they're a bustling strip mall location so the ambiance is exactly.what you would expect. Sitting and eating here is a slice of Morristown life, but I wouldn't take a date here unless you want it to be your last. The atmosphere, in my opinion, leads people to underestimate this little jem that makes all their sauces from scratch and hand soaks and prepares the refried beans. The bagels are a little odd - still not sure why they have them. I didn't get one, 'cause that's not why I'm there! Can't recall the name of it, but I got the habanero chicken burrito special on my first visit and it was outstanding. My friend got the other chicken burrito special with chorizo. We loved how thin the tortilla was, and the sauces on the table were a great touch, as was the nice dollop of sour cream to cool my burning mouth. Second trip, he got that same chicken-chorizo burrito special and I got two tacos - a fish taco and a carnitas taco. Again, great stuff. Visited some friends in Morristown and looked for somewhere to grab a quick lunch. The menu and pictures of the food reminded me of the tacqueria's back in California. We ordered two tacos - a chorizo and a carnitas, and a chimichanga. The chimichanga was legit, crispy outside, inside was still hot and tasty. The tacos were good with the exception of the chorizo, which was so greasy that it had soaked through the taco shell, the paper bowl, and onto the table. I've been coming here for a while now because I work nearby. I only ever get tacos because of taco Tuesday where you get a taco free when you buy the regular order (3 tacos). They have great hard shells, very crunchy and flavorful corn taste. My friends and I like to get a side order of soft shell tortillas (50 cents) and wrap it around the hard shell to keep the hard shell taco from falling apart. The hot sauces are also delicious! Both the red and green. I always get carnitas tacos because they come with guacamole on top as well. Overall a great place to grab a bite. The service isn't the best but I love the food and the service is relatively quick. (I have to admit last weekend my bf and I had three meals from here!) read more

I am from the west coast and grew up on real mexican food, I have been in the east and south for 10 years now and don't find real mexican very often, this was very authentic for these parts :) My son liked the chicken tacos and the refried beans are homemade. I liked my enchiladas, sauce could have been a little more flavorful but they give you 2 kinds of sauce to ad and they were both very good. I am in NYC now but have friends in Morristown so will be back for sure. Just tell them what you want and they will make it.
