If I could provide six stars I would. We have used iMacs for 20+ years. Apple stopped offering the 27" iMac several years, much to my disappointment. I've been reluctant to switch, but thanks to Jim and the Mac HQ team, we now have a MacBook Air and I'm typing this review on my lap sitting on the sofa. I'm using this MacBook all over, getting small things done when I'm ready, in comfort (not that computer desk is that uncomfortable...). We had a few considerations to think through w/r/t a large Photos library and more. Jim was both patient and helpful, working with me to get the configuration on the MacBook that we have. It took me several phone calls to work through, but we did it! It was a special order, and a couple weeks later it arrived. After a call with Braiden, he worked through moving the large libraries onto the MacBook and he even merged them. When I picked it up, I had a few additional questions, and Braiden was patient and helpful working me through it all. Along the way, Bailey, Sean and Gage also provided help, in person and on the phone. All, THANK YOU!! Life is better away from screens, to be sure, and yet, screens help us do fun and interesting, and often necessary things... and this MacBook is a great way for me to get things done. I honestly can't believe this location is affiliated with Apple. From the moment I walked in, the place felt strange and unprofessional. The store was very dark inside, looked run-down, and just didn't have the atmosphere or appearance I would expect from a business affiliated with Apple. The overall environment felt uncomfortable, and some of the people there came across as unprofessional. I went there because I was having a very specific issue with my AirPods, but the employees I dealt with didn't seem to understand what I was talking about. I kept getting generic answers that didn't actually address the problem. Instead of troubleshooting the issue properly, I felt like I had to explain the same thing over and over again. I eventually went to the actual Apple Store in West County, where I was able to troubleshoot the problem myself with their help. After testing multiple devices, the conclusion from my testing was that AirPods 3 are currently not working properly with the iPhone Air and iPhone 17. I also experienced the same behavior with AirPods 2. The current software version is 26.6.1. Apple might patch the issue in a future update, but there's no guarantee or timeline that I'm aware of. What really frustrates me is that I had to go to a proper Apple Store and essentially figure out the issue myself. The difference between the two locations was night and day. I went in expecting knowledgeable staff who could troubleshoot an Apple-to-Apple compatibility issue, but instead I left feeling like I had wasted my time. I honestly still can't believe the first location is affiliated with Apple. EDIT: The owner gave half-truths and dismissive responses instead of professionally addressing the issue. They claim to have over 30 years of experience, yet the shop doesn't inspire confidence when it comes to troubleshooting Apple products. I was told there are no known reports of this issue anywhere online, but a simple Google search shows multiple people experiencing the same problem this year. Dismissing readily available information instead of investigating it is disappointing. What was even more concerning was being told that my Apple-certified AirPods were fake. They were verified as genuine through Apple's official website and confirmed in person at an actual Apple Store. Despite that, this shop continued insisting they were counterfeit. Based on my experience, I would not recommend doing business here. If they're making unsupported claims about genuine Apple products and providing misleading information to customers, that's a serious concern. I believe this location deserves closer scrutiny regarding the quality and accuracy of the service it provides. Edit 2: This was a complete waste of time. Anyway, good luck with your business. Honestly, you don't deserve anyone's business, and it's a shame to see the store taking up space when customers are treated this way. Edit 3: :) Edit 4: Threatening my family? Yeah, very mature behavior from this store owner. I strongly recommend not giving this store your business. I'm a believer! To give you the backstory: I have a like new 2019 MacBook Pro that I've had since 2021 and have had very few issues with, if any. I've been running beta updates on it and noticed Microsoft word was acting funny. I called the Apple hotline and they suggested I uninstall the beta software and bring it back to where it was. I had difficulty so I made an appt for the Apple Store. Let me preface this next piece that I only came in for Microsoft word. The Apple Store said they ran some tests, weren't able to get it to power back on and I'd need to some piece replaced that would cost $800. I made a split decision and said no and contacted the MacHeadQuarters that same day. I called as I was getting in the car to explain my issue and see what time they close. The man I spoke with on the phone said it would be a $99.00 fee but it would go forwards the computer should there be a charge to fix it. From what I explained, he seemed hopeful they could fix it. They close at 7 and I made it at 6:53! Unfortunately, the man behind the counter wasn't the same person I spoke with on the phone. Regardless, he couldn't have been more courteous and polite, despite it being so close to closing. I apologized profusely for being "that person" but he understood. He got my info and said he'd be in touch. While I was quoted for it being done by Friday at the earliest, I was contacted the next day (for reference, I dropped jt off Monday, 2/09) and they said it was available for pickup at NO CHARGE. I was in disbelief. I don't know who was more happy: me or my wallet! Here's what I loved about this whole process: -They were thorough from start to finish (sent me texts on what the issue was, where they were at, and the time table) -Everyone was courteous. Not once did anyone ever shun me for any of my questions or make me feel silly. Best of all, no one tried to upsell me like a certain store did because they tried to say my model was outdated... yeah, ok, pal. It's running, fine! -they charge a fraction of the cost and still do quality work if not better. The fact that they (MacHeadQuarters) solved the problem in 1 day and you had a STORE full of people hired specifically to fix issues and you still couldn't do it (I'm pointing to you, Apple Store) tells me everything i need to know. If you're wanting a used iMac there are positives to coming here. However I will say for a 2021 they wanted over 2,000. Pricing is just as high as going to mac itself. They also do have brand new items. Customer service was okay however after asking us our budget kept pushing items on us that were over budget. I wish I could give more stars and given my situation I know there wasn't much they could do but I think the way it was handled was super unprofessional and disappointing. I had an appointment and when I came in there were 2 men working one of which was helping someone else and when I told the one who was helping me what happened (I spilled an energy drink on my MacBook) the other employee laughed at me. I understand it seems silly but it happens and I know I'm not the first one to have done this before so to laugh at me just seemed really condescending, life happens and I was trying to see if they could help me. They told me that because it had liquid damage it would need to be sent into Apple and it would cost $950 to fix which is obviously not worth it for a 2017 MacBook Air. I ended up buying a new one refurbished after I left. The employee was quite rude and condescending and he kept asking "what I wanted him to do" and just wasn't very kind when I was asking him about if it could still be used since it is turning on and wasn't receptive to my questions. Like I said I understand there wasn't much that can be done in that situation but I just feel like it could have been handled better, I was a stressed college student who was very clearly freaking out since this happened right before finals and I think they could've been nicer and I think it was extremely unprofessional to laugh at me when I know I'm not the only one that has spilled something on a laptop before.
