When we bought our home with a very modest kitchen and where it didn't have hardly any cabinetry for storage. We needed to maximize every square inch! Eric was by far the most responsive, professional, friendly and knowledgeable on how to recommend the best solution for us. Before and after pics are shown. When we met with Ed, the owner to get a bid, we had very specific items and laid out everything. He did not do an itemized bid. He gave us a price on the spot. When he returned with the contract, we gave him an itemized list of everything we had asked for, he read it over and agreed to it, so we signed the contract. He and his cree never used the list and that is when the problems started. The cabinet doors he gave us samples of, were not what we asked for. The island base was to be a certain color. We were then told that the only way to get the colored base was to paint it, unacceptable. The vanishing floor drain in the shower we asked for, we didn't get it and he would have to remove the hot mop they had done and redo the plumbing, so we accepted it. The backsplash tile in the kitchen had to be redone because they had a guy that rarely does tile for them do it. His co worker told me he had worked with that guy for 7 years and never saw him set tile. Most of his subs did great work. I could go on about their lack of communication, but you get the idea. I have been trying to get them back for a month now to fix one of my under cabinet lights they installed with no luck. BTW, the job was supposed to take 3 months, it took 4 1/2! We were living out of the house for almost 4 months.

What set Steve apart was his willingness to rearrange his schedule to accommodate me. Since the repair required my water heater to be removed, I was without hot water, and Steve made sure to fit me in quickly so I wouldn't be inconvenienced for long. His estimate was spot-on, both in terms of time and cost. The repair was completed in about half a day, just as he promised, and his charges were very reasonable. Steve was professional, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. You would be an idiot to hire anyone else.

WOW! WOW! WOW! My…read morewife and I are still in awe with how our children's/guest bathroom turned out, thanks to JWR. Since we had a big expansion project coming up in the summer, we quickly realized that our guest bathroom would become our main bathroom until our bigger project was complete. Then after vetting through a handful of contractors, we found JWR. The owner, Jake, was very responsive and quite frankly just made us feel like he wanted our business. Add in his experience in the Bay Area working on beautiful homes, it was a no brainer. Our bathroom was a very outdated and not really functional for the adults. We explained all of this to Jake, and we showed him some inspiration pics, per his request. I felt at that time we were in good hands, as nobody else asked how we wanted the place to look and feel. Jake gave us a list of materials we needed to provide him with the correct amounts, plus extra just in case (very standard in construction). Thankfully we were able to return the unused items. The attention to detail was amazing. The vanity is about 80" custom built in the 60's. He took out the hamper drawer and built an open shelf. He also painted the entire vanity to the color we chose, even adding extra coats to assure it was what we wanted. He lined up our floor tile so the veins can look cohesive, even though this was more time consuming and arguable not in his scope of work. You could tell he cared about his work. He singlehandedly demo'd, waterproofed, replace fixtures (including tub), paint, small electrical, plumbing, etc. The project took about 3 weeks to complete. So it was done on-time and on-budget. Worth every penny and would use JWR again for any future needs. 5 out of 5 stars! Thanks, Jake!
