I'm glad to see that the Macaron bar has evening hours to satisfy my after-dinner sweet tooth. The flavors are fun and seasonal. Join the loyalty program and get a free macaron right away! My only hesitation is the price. $2.25 for one macaron seems expensive. read more

I don't even want to know how much money I've spent here over the past year. My roommates and I cannot get enough of this place! The macarons are so airy and light. They are the perfect dessert for people who don't like heavy and ultra-sweet desserts. After a fun night on Mass Ave, I always like to end it here! I have been ordering these luxuries macarons for years now. They make a perfect gift for someone or yourself. They are the perfect texture, they have wonderful taste and they are above all CONSISTENT. Each macaron is perfect and it demonstrates that they really care about their product. Dearest friend: "Let's go to the Macaron Bar..." Me: "Excuse me, the whaddy-WHAT bar?!?!" Yeah, I've been living under a rock.. macarons are magical pastry gifts from the baking Gods that I only recently discovered (by recent, I mean last year..and I'm old AF so that's pretty recent in my book) and I can inhale a dozen like nothin'. -the deets- Digs: beautiful, clean and minimalist design. I would love to sign up for a class or book an event here...hmmm, bachlorette-macaron-making-party? Staff: friendly and cheery! Ask them to sign you up for their loyalty program and demand they give you a free macaron :P JK, they do that any way. Macarons: unicorn pastries..get in mah mouf!! I've had all of them (except for the seasonal ones--cya this week) and my faves are Salted Caramel, Birthday Cake, Pistachio and Earl Grey tea. How to obtain the magic: $25 for 12 is the way to go. AND, (I just discovered this) you can get a them USPS to your house for a few more bucks OR (also just discovered this, the internet is sh-AMaZiNg) they have a monthly subscription box!! My wife and I stopped in Sunday night as we walked down Mass Ave after dinner. The selection was alright, they had 15 or so flavors. We ordered a dozen to go and a water. Total bill was $27. A fresh macaroon should literally be so delicate it crumbles like a thin wafer and the filling should be jelly consistency. The dozen we bought were definitely not fresh. The cookies were chewy and the filling had the consistency of a gummy bear candy. For the prices we paid we could have went to Cake Bake. Hard pass on this place. read more

What a fun addition to Mass Ave... Macaron bar is a cute little shop that will send you home with a box of beautiful macarons in flavors like salted caramel, red velvet, and pistachio. The service is carry out, there isn't a seating option, and 6 cookies cost $13. The staff were very friendly and the packaging held the cookies nicely to keep them from crushing. Ultimately, my main issue is the macarons just weren't that great. There is stiff macaron competition in Indy with Gallery Pastry and Coat Check and this spot just didn't meet the mark in terms of quality. read more

Originally, I was excited to see macaron bar open. I am known to be a connoisseur of macarons and it thrilled me to see their sign when they were under construction. However, when I visited the location, I was very disappointed. I requested four macarons and was treated as if I did not know what I was talking about. The sales associate was also very rude during my purchase. I will not be back and will not make any referrals. Note: Great customer service is essential in the service industry. read more

I have been waiting for this opening! My husband are always downtown. When I saw it was situated perfectly on Mass Ave right next to Flying Cupcake I was stoked. The flavors are plentiful and all of them are SO good. If you sign up for their free reward program you get a free macaron! We also tried the English meringue. It's served with a cream that helps break up the sweetness. Delicious! If there was one thing I would change it would just be to utilize the space a bit better and maybe have some seating! It's very sterile right now. The colors of the desserts help brighten the place up. read more

I've been here twice now. It's on Mass Ave which is one of my favorite places anyway; the only downside to the location is probably finding parking because Mass Ave can get busy. But it's a cute little modern looking shop and they have like 12ish different flavors to choose from. Most recently I tried the Earl Grey Tea, Mimosa, and Birthday Cake. The Earl Grey Tea was probably my favorite because it had such a sweet and unique flavor. As far as the taste and quality, this is the only place I've had macaroons so I can't speak to it too much but I've really liked every macaroon I've gotten from here. They are crunchy but also soft and sweet and super yummy! AND if you join their free loyalty program, you get a free macaroon! They have Apple Pay too which was a really nice touch. read more

Gorgeous little shop that offers tiny desserts that pop with vibrant color and flavors. They have core set of flavors that typically are also available and they mix in two to three seasonal flavors that will coincide with the time of year that visit. The staff is cool, friendly and quick moving. Often you'll have to wait in a line to place your order but it works out because this will give you time to make your decision on what you want. There is nothing I love more than a good macaron, especially since it's the only dessert I like. I love that macarons were finally brought to a central downtown location on Mass Ave. Macaron Bar is a franchise that also has locations in Cincinnati and Louisville so it's interesting to see the different kinds of macarons each location has. The Macaron Bar has a solid group of macarons they always sell like birthday cake, Madagascar vanilla, and lemon lavender. However, I always look forward to the interesting and seasonal flavors like mimosa, cinnamon bun, and apple pie. These make the perfect pick me up after a long day or even a gift for someone special since you can buy individual macarons or 6-12 pack boxes. They even offer classes on how to make Macarons! read more

Above average macarons but not the best Ive ever had. I got a six pack and my favorite was the salted caramel and key lime pie. Would have liked a tad more filling on the inside but the cookie was good on all of them. Flavors were accurate and cute shop. read more

I made my way down to Mass Ave on a Sunday afternoon for the sole purpose of visiting the Macaron Bar. Parking in the area is a hassle on the weekends, but I really wanted to try some of these macarons. There were lots of different flavors so I had to get a half-dozen in order to try a variety, of course. They're $13 for 6, but I got an extra for free - I'm not sure if there was a special going on, or if that's a normal perk. I tried the chocolate strawberry, black raspberry chocolate, birthday cake, coffee, dark chocolate, and lemon lavender. My favorites were the black raspberry chocolate and lemon lavender but they were all very tasty. They come wrapped in cute packaging, making them a nice gift for a friend or someone special. read more

What a great concept. They do an outstanding job with making macaroons, but they also have classes teaching the art of making macaroons. We went in today to try their new valentines day flavors and were not dissappointed. My only complaint and maybe Im being petty but the staff just didn't seem to care. The newest edition to Mass Ave, Macaron Bar, fits in nicely in the 400 block with its other neighbors (SubZero and The Flying Cupcake). I stopped in yesterday and found a very welcoming staff. I was encouraged to sign up for their frequent shopper program and for signing up, you receive a free macaron! They have baking classes (macarons of course!) and it looks like they've added a table and a few chairs, so you could potentially eat in, although that might be a waiting area for the classes. Unfortunately, I also found that the texture was off in my choices (dark chocolate and earl grey tea). It was chewy and too big. Feel free to stop in, but I'll be staying local with Circle City Sweets and The Gallery Pastry Shop. read more

Delicious! Very cute shop on mass ave. There are two tables in the front to sit at if it's not busy. You can buy individual macaroons or a box of 6 or 12. I signed up for the rewards program and got a free macaron! They have a lot of delicious flavors and the macarons are very light yet chewy and not too sweet. The only downside is the price at $25 for 12. Definitely more of a special treat than somewhere to go every day. They also offer macaron baking classes for $95/person which I would love to try! My experience would have been five stars if the staff were friendlier. They seemed annoyed that we took our time choosing flavors even though we were the only people in the store. read more

What a great addition to Mass Ave! I love a good macaron and these are more than good, they're excellent! I've tried 5 or 6 flavors now and each one is better than the last. They are made perfectly - both in flavor and in texture. They are chewy but not dry or crispy. They are delicate, tender and sweet. The colors are also beautiful. Their macarons make such a great hostess gift, after dinner sweet bite or birthday present. I haven't met a person who doesn't appreciate a well made macaron. Stop by and get a box today! I was invited to the Macaron Bar Pre-Opening event and it was such a cute, chic space! The employees were very friendly and attentive from the time we entered until we left! We were told that they'd have 12 main flavors and then seasonal rotating flavors, but we were able to sample vanilla, birthday cake, blackberry chocolate and pistachio macarons along with champagne. The flavors were delicious- seriously some of the best macarons I've had! I will definitely be returning! read more

I eagerly anticipated the opening of Macaron Bar. I love macarons and very spoiled by living so close to Gallery Pastry Shop. They had a mixture of standard flavors and fun flavors like birthday cake. The seasonal flavor was Pumpkin Spice which was good but probably won't go back for seconds. Strawberry Chocolate, Earl Grey Tea, and Black Raspberry Chocolate were my favorites. Great for an after date dessert but the lack of seating and the price point will keep me from returning often. read more

Was not at all treated with respect. I moved my mask, I didn't take it off to answer a phone call. I was yelled at to keep my mask completely on at all times. I was in a corner and my friend was the only other person in the store. I understand being careful...but she didn't need to be rude. I promised my out of state friend ...Macrons...if not for that I wouldn't have made a purchase. Service with a smile would've been appreciated. read more

This fun shop offers a beautiful display of macarons and a few other delights, such a meringues. Offering approx 24 flavors of macarons at a time, they have some fun flavors like birthday cake and some unique finds like lemon lavender. The macarons are beautifully executed and pretty to look at. Don't be afraid to try something different though. I actually have to grab a lemon meringue each visit. Today I tried the pistachio meringue, which was tasty, but I do prefer the fresh lemon flavor of the lemon one. There are only about 2 tables to sit at here, so just grab a box and take a dozen to go. The staff are helpful and friendly as well. read more

My friend and I were at a coffee shop around the corner and decided to get some dessert to take home with us after a long day of doing work. We love macarons so we stopped by. I decided to do a half-dozen box and I got to choose what flavors I wanted. They have a nice variety of flavors from sweets to fruity to seasonal. My personally liked the earl grey and pistachio (my go-to flavors for any macaron shop). They have a rewards program and if you sign up for one, you get a free macaron at sign-up. They also give you one for your birthday month too! I believe they have macaron-making classes so if you're interested in learning how to make them, you should try it out. YAY FOR MACARONS!! Stopped in here with my stepdaughter because she had never had a macaron before. Of course, she had to try the amazingness that is these little delicacies. The selection was a bit small for my taste. Then again it's quality over quantity, right? They were amazing! They were six for $13, so we tried a birthday cake, a couple of the spiced pumpkin, a couple of the red velvet, and one of the black raspberry chocolate. I wish I could have more, but at that price, I'm thinking it's a once in a while treat. It is cool that this place is now on Mass Ave. Will definitely be back to try some more flavors! read more

I love this place!! I first found it in Cincinnati and was super excited when they opened up on Mass Ave! It's great just to walk in and get 1 or get 12. They even ship! I have never had a flavor that I didn't like! I love that it's a simple space (not a lot of extra decor), let the product speak for itself! I would deff recommend this to everyone! read more

I was so worried about finding a place that I would enjoy as I prefer Laduree in NYC. MB is the cutest, and so warm. It doesn't matter who is assisting me when I visit, it's always the same. And there's always some sort of deal happening. I'd recommend MB one million times over. read more

That could not be more true. We both did Pick Two: I got a chicken salad sandwich and my mother got a turkey and cheese both with the soup of the day which was butternut squash. Soup was OK, sandwiches were OK. I got a side of chips (not made in-house) for $3. My daughter was upset when we arrived bc she was napping in the car and she proceeded to cry for about the first 10 minutes so, I walked around with her to calm her before I sat down since it's so cramped to try not to disturb everyone else. She was not happy the entire time so we were trying to calm her and feed her. Cake slices and cheesecake are $17-20 each. They're large but other reviews say dry and taste old. That's pricey. We skipped dessert at those prices based on the quality of the rest of our meal... I got an $8 peppermint mocha which was good but, served in the smallest teacup imaginable. It's extremely small inside. Like, uncomfortable. Granted, I had a lot of items with my baby and her and we were seated at a table for two with her in my lap but it was close quarters and the waitresses were squeezing between the chairs to walk around. They have about 6 tables inside with a small event private room in back. Our waitress was kind but, the manager or owner was off-putting. She went to every single table seated except ours to ask how their meal was and experience and, when time to pay, she wanted to personally ring me up to ensure we left in a hurry. I get it, some places are not meant for babies, but, since it's billed specifically to kids, I thought this was. Nope, I was wrong. (She's 19 months - so, too young for this bougie of an establishment clearly) I would not come back at all unless it was for my, older daughter to have a birthday cake experience and get a couple cute pics. As far as instagram-worthy goes, they know what they're doing. As far as quality of food. It's like a 2.5 stars. I wish we'd waited and walked into the larger one in Carmel and just shopped and got some cookies to go!

The tiramisu latte is amazing and I get it every time I go since it's always when it's fall/winter, but an iced coffee or lemonade sounds so good once the weather gets warm again. Plan your visit for early in the day before their pastries get bought up! They stay very busy and our last visit was late in the evening to coincide with grocery shopping in Saraga so we could take everything straight home to the fridge. They were very picked over, but I got a slice of pound cake to snack on with my latte and a load of milk bread. The milk bread is a family favorite, so I recommend trying that out if you've never had it before. They also sell some super cute "accessories" on top of the display case and I bought "Happy Birthday" candles for my husband's birthday earlier this month from them, as well as some that said "I Love You" for Valentine's Day.

It's worth noting that this isn't a place you just walk in -- you have to place an order online, via Facebook message or by phone first, then set up a time to pick them up. I placed my order via email, which was a fast and easy process. I placed an order for four flavors -- vanille, chocolat, citron and pistache. The pistache was by far my favorite! I couldn't believe that it tasted almost exactly like the pistache macaron I had in France at Laduree! My only complaint would be that, although the texture of the cookie part of this macaron was excellent, the filling was a little runny. It appeared that these may have been freshly made, so giving them an hour or two for the filling to firm up probably would have fixed that very minor issue. Although I didn't think the vanille, chocolat and citron macarons were as close to those same flavors of macarons I sampled in France, they were all good and after sampling them, I wished I had placed an order for all of the flavors they had. It appeared that Union Baking Co. is more of a catering/custom order company, but they were happy to fill my tiny 4-pack order. I am usually more interested in spontaneously stopping in a place and getting macarons immediately than in waiting for an order, but if you're fine with waiting a few days or you need a customized/large order of a variety of macarons, this is the place to order from!
