Located by the railroad tracks right as you…read moreleave downtown Indy on East New York Street, Cash & Carry Paper has been around and within the Corsaro/Moss family since they first bought it in 1962. It has been in various locations including 32 years at 602 East Washington Street. Cash & Carry Paper has a 33,000-square foot warehouse and a 4,000-square foot showroom. They are local, do not ship, and do deliver within the Indy area. You can also browse online. I drive by Cash & Carry nearly every day since I take East New York Street on my way home. I was immediately intrigued because they have a huge and very nicely ramp done at their front door (I'd imagine it's as much about carrying supplies, but for a wheelchair user it's also pretty great). If it's paper, there's a pretty good chance that Cash & Carry Paper carries it and there's a pretty good chance their pricing is going to meet or beat mosf the places that you'll think of to get things like cutlery, napkins, plastic ware, decorations, bowls, office supplies, and a myriad of other things. Seasonal items are plentiful here and this place offers great prices for wedding needs (Okay, I've actually heard this. I'm old. I'm tired. I'm perpetually single.). Employees are always friendly here - in fact, it was because a friend was dating someone from here that I finally visited Cash & Carry and came to regard it as a "go to" option for paper goods. While the hours don't always work best for me (7am-5p, M-F), it's worth the extra effort because I'm truly supporting local while also getting great customer service and prices. While the neighborhood is a mixture of up-and-coming and economically challenged, I've never had any issues here and Cash & Carry is in a good location being next to the railroad tracks. If you're doing special events, have a wedding, have a gathering, or whatever, there's simply no place else I would check first. While they focus on paper, like nearly any other paper company they offer a wide range of similarly-themed products including janitorial supplies. Honestly, rather than trying to list all the supplies - go to their website and check it out for yourself. Truly, Cash & Carry is an Indy gem and one of the best options I've found for paper goods in this area. I'll easily check here first before ever heading over to one of the chain options.

I like how Blondie's cookies has a vast array of cookies and I love how you can get a slice of "cookie pizza", because a cookie cake just hits different! Anyway, the slice of cookie pizza is a good option if you like a lot of frosting. The frosting is very sweet but the cookie helps balance it out, which didn't seem quite so sweet in comparison. I decided on a sugary cuernito, except mine was shaped more like a circle than a horn. It was still delicious. When you walk into Kelly's Cakes, you will see a bakery case to your left with all of the pan dulce and bolillos. Then there's a smaller refrigerated case at the front by the register with cake slices, jelly / pudding cups, and some whole cakes. From reading the other reviews, it sounds like Kelly's makes cakes and desserts to order, but I don't know about that! I was just stopping in to get a sweet bread. No Label at The Table Food Company, Carmel, Indiana…read more A gluten-free, dairy-free bakery and food company staffed by people on the autism spectrum No Label at The Table isn't just a bakery. It's a quietly revolutionary act of love that happens to make extraordinary food. The story begins with a mother and her son, "Chef J," who was diagnosed with autism in 2000. When he turned eighteen and announced he wanted to be a chef, his family didn't laugh it off for long. They recognized what so many employers miss, which is that the very traits associated with autism, such as an exceptional palate, meticulous attention to detail, and a love of process-driven work, are strengths in a kitchen rather than liabilities. Rather than let her son be relegated to a dishwashing role that would waste his potential, his mom wrote a business plan, talked her way into the Carmel Farmer's Market, and built a real company around his dream. What makes this place remarkable is that it solved two problems at once. It gave Chef J meaningful work where he is the boss and executive chef running his own kitchen, and it created that same dignity for others. By their March 2018 grand opening, they employed 13 people on the autism spectrum, with employees who've gone on to build the company's website and others who've left to head off to college. They didn't just hire for charity. They built a workplace where neurodivergent employees are valued for exactly who they are. The name says it all, because there are no labels at this table. And the food delivers. Everything is genuinely gluten-free and dairy-free, not an afterthought but the foundation, since Chef J has eaten this way since he was a toddler, back when almost no one knew what "gluten free" even meant. The daily menu is mouthwatering and ambitious: German chocolate cakes, apple danish, snickerdoodle and red velvet cupcakes, whoopie pies with marshmallow meringue, English muffins, garlic breadsticks, fresh bread loaves, s'more bars, brownies, and more, rotating fresh each day. People with dietary restrictions often resign themselves to mediocre substitutes. Here, the allergen-friendly baking is the whole point, and the quality shows. The philosophy behind it is the real heart of the business. As the founder puts it, work should make you feel needed and important, and that need gives you a feeling that you are important. For someone on the spectrum, she explains, work has to be enjoyable, otherwise it's just another tedious task in a world that doesn't always make sense. That conviction is baked into every product they sell. **If you're in Carmel, go. Order online if you're not.** You'll get genuinely delicious gluten-free, dairy-free treats, and you'll be backing a family that turned "hope and hustle" into dignified, life-changing employment for an entire community of people the rest of the world too often overlooks. This is what a business with a soul looks like. Five stars, without hesitation. Location: 111 W Main St, Suite 145, Carmel IN 46033. Tue to Fri 10am to 6pm, Sat 10am to 4pm.
