I visited Sur La Table bread making classes on my birthday and I had such a good time learning the nuances of yeast, proofing and baking bread. We were a group of 4 and we had a good understanding of who would do what. That gave us enough time to learn, bake and then enjoy tasty bread with freshly churned garlic butter. Gosh that was delicious! Chef Alisa was so bright, enthusiastic and energetic. She ensured we washed our hands as soon as we got in, showed us all the vessels and gave us a good understanding of what to expect. She was professional and very thorough. I enjoyed my 2 hour class and went back with a generous portion of garlic rosemary focaccia bread and rustic artisan bread. Fun!

My boyfriend and I did the Date Night cooking class tonight where we made red chicken curry and pad Thai and it was so much fun! We were paired with a really fun couple, and our instructor/chef was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. She was awesome! The food was delicious too. The cost is well worth it. You also get a discount to the whole store during the class so we picked up a few essentials. I highly recommend doing this if you like to cook and eat. You can also bring in your own wine or beer to enjoy while cooking!

Sur La Table is an upscale kitchen store in Clay Terrace. You can find small appliances, kitchen gadgets and utensils, cookware, tableware and much more. All of the merchandise is high quality with premier brands. It's a great place to buy gifts or something special for yourself. Prices are somewhat higher than those at discount stores. What sets Sur La Table apart from other kitchen stores in the area is that they have a teaching kitchen. You can sign up for classes online and they fill up quickly. Classes cost between $70-80 per seat. You can learn to make everything from Beef Wellington to macaroons. Classes are different everyday. Parking is convenient behind the store with limited parking in front. The store is accessible.

My husband and I did the Date Night Italian Trattoria. This was our first time at Sur La Table and we had an absolute blast. The class was very relaxing, the instructor was very helpful and the food was amazingly delicious. We highly recommend and will most certainly come back.

We came to Sur La Table for a pasta class and it was so much fun! The pandemic required us to wear masks but it wasn't too bad, even for a two-hour class. I found it a little hectic so I wouldn't recommend it to super beginning cooks as there were some things that required some previous kitchen/cooking knowledge but it was such a great time, the store employees were nice and engagement, the chef was helpful and we left with so much food to eat and leftovers! Would be such a great idea for birthday or date!

It's beautiful, it's oven safe, it's dishwasher safe, it's microwave safe, and ... have I mentioned that it's beautiful? Each and every piece is something that you'd want to use every day, but also use when you serve guests (and I can guarantee your guests will compliment you on your pottery). It's just lovely. I had a hard time picking out a piece to buy myself: At this store that's located in Carmel's City Center, there are platters, dishes, bakeware for muffins and loaves, pie plates, ornaments, tasting spoons and cups, mugs and more. And every single piece can be used in the microwave/dishwasher/oven. I love pretty things that you don't have to worry about ruining! This pottery is hearty and will last a long time, and the prices reflect that quality. For instance, the small quiche dish that I bought was around $35. But this truly is a piece of functional pottery that will last a lifetime, and can be passed on to others. Out of the Blue has been in Carmel about two years, and they typically have a booth at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt (although since the market won't be happening this year, they obviously won't be there). So this is the only store of its kind in Hamilton County. If you love beautiful pottery and baking/cooking in it, I suggest checking out this place.

They have a great selection. I highly recommend this store. I went in for 1 piece and left with 4. I'm a collector so this place is definitely dangerous. :) They are traditionally at the Carmel Christmas Market too.
