    Glazes galore
    Patty B.

I absolutely love this place. Lots of selections in glaze. Bisqueware ready to glaze. pottery tools and tools and tools available! The young girl that waited on me was very informative and helpful. Will definitely be back to visit. I did come here expecting it to be an Amaco storefront , however they are a company of their own. They are short on Amaco products as well as any other supplier.

We are very excited to come back for more visits. The staff member that helped us (wish I could remember her name) was super helpful and patient as she walked us through some of the sections.

They also sell kinetic sand, Magna-Tiles, magic water marbles, building blocks, floor puzzles, board games, educational DVDs and CDs ... I could go on, but then this review would just be a list of every cool plaything that's out there. But they don't just sell toys here. This place is also a school supply store and place for teachers to buy items for their classrooms, including banners, posters and things for classroom organization. There's also a space in the back of the store just for laminating. The prices are comparable to other brick-and-mortar stores, and you might be able to find some of their products cheaper online, however, I can't think of a place in the area that has this much selection, where you can actually see the toys and products and -- in many cases -- play with them. Which brings me to another reason why I love Lakeshore: They have stations throughout the store set up with different toys and games for the kids to play with. It's so fun! (Well, it's fun for kids; it's not so fun for the adults who have to pry the kids away from the store.) On Saturdays and Sundays, they offer drop-in art workshops for kids for free. Each weekend, kids make a different fun craft.

Not only did they not greet us as we walked over to the crafting area, they ignored us, while looking straight at my face when I asked if there was a craft for the kids. I asked again and they BOTH shook their heads no & in their craft attire, stated that the craft had ended at 4pm. It was 2:45pm. I then informed manager on duty, was given no compensation, did offer an apology and no hint of what would be done towards this situation. The manager asked if the kids wanted to still do a craft ... ummm NO! Sad sad sad Do not go to this Michaels!!!!!!!!!!

The aisles are neat and the store is clean. I joined their "club" to receive email specials and sale notifications. I get about 2 emails/weeks. The 50 percent off coupons are great for regular priced merchandise. You can get some great deals after holidays on clearance merchandise. They carry art supplies, jewelry supplies, wedding supplies, 4 aisles of scrapbooking supplies, yarn, seasonal decor and much, much more. I have had a couple of pictures framed by their framing department and they do a good job. Framing is usually 50 percent off. The clerks vary from very helpful to less than helpful depending on the day. Michaels is a chain with an online presence.

OK...so I try to keep in mind what the aim/focus of a business is when I'm writing a review and not…read moregive a low rating just because that focus does not fit with my personal taste if the business does the thing they are trying to do well. Meaning...if I don't like hamburgers I'm not going to give a hamburger place a low rating if they seem to make a good burger...my not liking hamburgers isn't their fault....Homegoods seems to be one of those places that involve reduced price, kind of random things in a range of categories. It would likely be great fun with hidden bargains for people who love spending time looking for hidden treasures. I am not one of those people on most days...I need to be able to find what I'm looking for and get on with my day. Unless I'm on vacation, shopping is an item on my to-do list. If you have the time and enjoy the hunt, they do seem to have good quality items here including dishes, linens, towels and even furniture. They have some familiar brands of home products and items were in original packaging and appeared new. I needed some cushions for patio chairs and they did have some but the sizes and colors were not what I needed. They have shopping carts, but many aisles are too narrow for them. I think I'd likely only come back if I wasn't looking for anything in particular and was in the mood to just browse for random items. Again though, if you love just browsing, you'll probably have fun here!

If you want a fun activity on the Indy Northside, look no further!…read more I came here with a group of colleagues for a fun night out from the lab. It was a nice social activity that also allowed moments of quiet to focus on your piece. I find this dynamic kind of nice because I'm not one to talk endlessly even when I'm with my friends. They have tons of pieces to choose from, ranging in price and size, so you can make this activity as much as you want to get out of it. There's no studio fee, so glazes and kiln services are included with your price. They have just about all the colors of glaze, which have a display on the wall by the glaze bottles. The staff are all very friendly, Brooke and Fernando were especially attentive to us throughout the evening. They made sure to help keep our workspace tidy and helped with some glazing and artistic touches. Importantly, we never felt rushed with the process, which helped us feel like we could make something we're proud of. They also have some glass fusing stuff as well, so you can make some kinds of mosaic glass lamp shades (or at least that's what was shown throughout the space). I'm curious how that's priced, because that would be another cool outing! Pottery pieces take about a week to be fired in the kiln, so I don't have my masterpiece back yet. I'm very excited to receive it! They also provide shipping, so if you're a little further away, you can still get your piece. I'm sure I'll be back again before too long!
