Candle making at the back counter!

It had been years since I've visited Pottery By You and it was such a treat to check it out with my toddler and mom. Potter By You offers Fused glass, pottery painting and candle making with pottery painting prices starting as low as $8. Love that there are some practical items like nightlights and outlet covers for kids rooms, etc vs clutter items to paint. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful during our visit. They offer a small wine, beer and snack menu. This spot is great for families, adult date nights, friend, etc. Grateful for this little creative escape. Note that they conveniently have Greek and Thai restaurants for neighbors.

My wife and I had a great time here. We were greeted when walking in the door. Sat quickly, and had the process explained in depth. There were plenty of different pottery pieces to choose from, as well as different colors to paint. We especially enjoyed the adult beverages they had to offer- because who doesn't love to drink and paint. Will definitely return to try out some different art projects they offer.

I had the best time here recently! A group of friends and I decided to pop in here. It had likely been more than 15 years since I'd been here and it brought me so much joy to see this spot totally packed! We went on a Saturday afternoon and loved hearing all of the options for activities. I knew about the pottery but to learn there is also wood painting, candle making, and glassware activities was super cool. I definitely want to come back. We got sat in the more private area in the back and each picked a ceramic item to paint! It needed three coats so definitely set aside at least 2-3 hours for this. We loved learning that they sell local drinks here in case you want to have a bevy while painting. My group had the best time! I didn't receive the text to pick up the items but when I called in they said they were ready. Everyone was so happy with what they made! The staff did a great job of making people feel welcomed and gathering the needed supplies despite how busy it was!

Came here for my birthday and had the best time! We booked a private party in their event room, which holds up to 30 people. However, I only had 13 in my group, and we managed to sit at two tables of 10--worked out great. Our server was Faith, who was super kind and handled our group well, as we can be pretty loud! :) She gave clear instructions on all things ceramic painting and answered our questions knowledgeably. Pottery by You offers beer and wine, but it's also BYO food and beverages. I brought charcuterie for my guests, and for private parties, they require you to buy your alcoholic beverages from them. We got a couple of bottles of champagne. There was a nice selection of ceramics to choose from, and I opted for a set of 2 mugs. Everyone in my party had a great time--we will definitely be back!

Super cute great assortment of colors and I loved having the drink option! Perfect for a date night!!

DIY crafting location for all things glass, pottery & wooden painted art! This was my first visit and it's a LOT to take in! I arrived thinking I'd either paint a mug or create a, glass art, winter scene... However, after the tour, and realizing glass art was a separate area than the wooden and pottery painting I decided on the mug. Defeats the purpose of going with a friend if you have to text them from across the room the whole time! ;) This location has a variety of colors(regular and specialty), along with texture options and stencils... they don't all mix well together, it's best to explain your artistic approach with a staff member before beginning to ensure you can actually create what you're picturing in your mind. My mini masterpiece will be slightly different than originally planned due to discovering mid project that the specialty paint I selected wouldn't mix well with the fine line art paint(used to paint the tree, ornaments and snowflakes). The final product, as described to me, will come out slightly blurred. As if looking through prescription lens not prescribed to me... I decided to go for it and embrace the abstract version of my initial vision. Everyone was extremely helpful, enthusiastic, ready to offer suggestions and techniques when you have questions on how to achieve desired results. They 100% want to make sure you enjoy your visit and create something you'll love... I'm excited to see the final outcome! :D

They do glass baking, pottery painting, candle making. There is a crafters delight. Plus you can get a $20 bottle of wine, $6 wine slushies, $1 sodas, chips and snacks for $1.25. For the pottery, you just pay for your piece not extra studio time. I think our 9inch plates were about $22 each. It was great! There were little ornaments for $7. Everything was very reasonable. They were nice enough to let my daughter choose a custom sticker on the way out. We will be back!

The set up! We added flowers.

We celebrated my Daughters 31st bday 12/28 with about 15 people. We had a semi private room. The service and kindness of the team was top notch! A great atmosphere and fun experience. We will definitely return.

Came here with a friend to paint pottery on my birthday a few months ago, and we had a great time! No appointment necessary, we just walked in! The staff were super friendly and helpful as they walked us through the process (the number of paint coats needed, different kinds of paints, techniques, etc) and answered our many questions on how to best bring our creative visions to life. I really loved that all the pottery was food safe, which pushed me to pick out a ramen bowl (which came with chopsticks). At the end, we just paid for the piece itself--I paid $34 (tax included) which felt reasonable for a custom painted piece (including all supplies, firing, and studio time). I was blown away by everything you can do here--based on the name, we thought it was just pottery, but they also have glass projects, wood board painting, and candle making! This is a great place to dip your hands into something you haven't tried before (literally!) My Snoopy bowl was a great bday gift, I'm so glad we tried Pottery by You! I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking to do a fun activity for a couple hours!

My two kiddos (10 & 8) had been begging for a return visit to this business. We had a lot of fun on our first trip here a year ago when we painted ceramics together and have been enjoying the art we created in different ways ever since. Note: my son and daughter had painted ceramic snake and cake slice containers while I had painted a brain (haha) that hangs on our living room wall. It is honestly one of my favorite art pieces in our home! Unfortunately the visit we made almost two weeks ago on a Saturday was not as pleasant or enjoyable as our previous one and I think it may have had more to do with the poor customer service & time of day we visited than the painting itself. Yes, weekends at businesses such as this are going to be busy, this business also offers parties, which is why we tried our best to get there earlier in the day. But the atmosphere seemed rushed, hectic, and the staff were using (what felt like) yelling voices to explain the paints and process to patrons. They said "let us know if you had questions" but when we had questions, the younger staff member used a condescending voice when replying or rushed away leaving us more confused than we were before. At one point, my 8 year old was on the verge of tears due to a mistake she felt she made in painting and I had remembered how kind the male owner had been on our previous visit so I suggested (while standing helping my son) for her to ask him for help. When he came over to our table, he began to talk loudly and draw attention to us in an uncomfortable way so others were staring. When I tried to explain what my daughter was needing, her crying at this point, he said loudly "well you have to tell me or I don't know!!" and walked away. He never came back, though we waited patiently thinking he would. I will say, one woman was incredibly kind and DID help us fix the mistake and even brought candy for the kids. She complimented my daughter and let her know the mistake was okay. Some takeaways: ceramic painting for children can be a lot of fun, but it is time consuming (it takes three layers that have to be completely dried in between) so you may want to come on a weekday afternoon or evening. I also wish the staff had the tables further apart so that it didn't feel so crowded. You have to constantly ask other patrons to politely move their chair or say "excuse me" while bumping into tables, squeezing through spaces, etc to dry your ceramic piece. And finally: this is a good business, I think we just came on a very bad day when the staff may have felt overwhelmed. We unfortunately didn't finish our work this trip but plan to come back another time to do so, maybe on a weekday!

A wonderful place to create some fun. Every time I walk in I'm welcomed, it's a delightful place to be along with making memories with friends. The price is well worth it and the memories will last forever. Also there are loads of things to do, from wood painting all the way to making glass bowls. The creativity doesn't stop! They now offer adult drinks for when you're being creative.

Looking for your next addiction??? Look no further, once u walk in the door and see what all Pottery by You has to offer, your life will never be the same!!!! My faves are the stoneware, that are dishwasher safe and the glass projects! See something on Pinterest you love, bring it in and they can help create your vision. They know different techniques and tricks. This is sooo much more than just a slap some paint on a piece of pottery place. You will actually make beautiful things while you are here!!! Currently I'm waiting to pick up two Stoneware plates my husband and I painted on a date night. Can't wait to see the finished product!!

This little place is so much fun. Instead of the normal paint night that everyone usually does (think: wine and canvas), some friends and I stopped in one afternoon to try it out. Crafty girls, this is your place! There's an array of ready made pottery for your choosing. Once you select your piece, your station is set up for you to get to work. It's so very artsy - all types of colors to choose from and ways to create your masterpiece. The girls who work their are awesome. They are helpful, and make the atmosphere more fun. This would be a cool place to have a party, or anything else you'd like it to be. I see myself coming back here again in the future.

I was really worried because at the time, my second-oldest was about to turn 4. So ... to say the least, I had visions of him tearing through the store, breaking everything in his path. Boy, was I wrong. These kids--all the kids, in fact--were absolutely enthralled and taken by the pottery painting. They all sat up at the tables together, with the adults, and painted bowls to donate to a good cause. It was a great time and a wonderful learning experience. But not only that, the kids made the most beautiful bowls! Even better than the adults. Know why? We adults TRIED TOO HARD. Kids are kids and make the most creative pieces every time. I love to see how the bowls look after they're painted--usually a mess. But it's the most fantastic transformation to see how your bowl (or other ceramic of your choice, including figurines, plates, plaques, mugs, etc.) turns out after it has been fired in the kiln. When we picked up all the Kiwanis club members' bowls, we were blown away. The color is so deep and fantastic on every single one. Head to Creative Escape next time you need a good gift for a loved one. We've gone back several times (And my husband has snuck all three boys out to make me the best Mother's Day gifts EVER ... handmade masterpieces) and plan to make plates for the grandmas until they have an entire set of homemade dishes. What a wonderful gift! NOTE: You don't need a reservation. Walk right in! (Reservations are suggested for large groups.) Thursday night is Ladies Night from 6-9 p.m.

They were unfriendly, unenthusiastic, impatient, and generally disinterested. Neither employee engaged with a single child. They couldn't even bothered to smile, let alone say "thank you." I volunteered to pay for two pieces they said had been painted by other group members who ostensibly left without paying. (Neither employee recognized my generosity in doing so--which in part saved them some headache. These were very small pieces. Given that it was their error in not properly collecting payment from each partygoer, they ought to have just written it off.) We later discovered that one of the pieces had not, in fact been painted. Rather than apologize for their error, the employee made a snide remark about it being the customer's fault. I'm still not convinced that the other piece was unpaid for--rather I think they probably made a clerical error given their lack of organization. The employee who supervised the party also complained about the noise. Perhaps she expected first graders to paint in silence. The manager never left her perch on the stool behind the desk. It must not have occurred to her that her associate might need assistance. Our group was in the establishment for exactly an hour on a Sunday when it appeared there were only two other customers. These two young women need to realize that, without paying customers, their employer can't afford to pay them, and that repeat customers are their best source of revenue. So they should exhibit a modicum of hustle for the brief time that they actually have to do some work during an otherwise, quiet, un-busy day. As an aside, they do not even have so much as a paper cup on hand for a drink of tap water. If your child is thirsty you'll be invited to drive across the street to CVS. I'd like to point out that the 5-star reviews mention how much fun pottery painting is, and the variety of available projects, but make no mention of employees being friendly or helpful. Pottery By You at 86th/Township Line and Half Baked Pottery in Broad Ripple are far more deserving of your business. Their owners are on-site and their employees are fantastic!

When you come in it will probably take you some time to first pick an item to paint. They have a variety of options to choose from with various price points. The price includes all the materials and supplies as well as the glazing process and the excellent service you receive. They do a great job with labeling paints, having different size brushes, switching out jars of water, and checking on you throughout the process. They mentioned several times that you need to paint everything three coats in order to have a vibrant color. I will say that takes much more time than one would think so definitely give yourself time to paint several layers without rushing. My only other thought was next time I would pick a bigger object for our small ones to do as opposed to the tiny hand. Painting was very frustrating for them. We were able to help, but next time e Id pick only big easily painted objects. It was a fun airy spot with lots of tables and creativity abounded! Once you are done they fire your objects and you come back later to pick them up. I would definitely go back and try something else with friends or for a date night even.
