It was screaming my name from the sidewalk with its bright yellow paint and the colorful garments displayed near the door. Once inside the vibrance continued as the small space was packed to the brim with amazing Tibetan items ranging from clothing and accessories to home decor, books, and knicknacks. There was so much to look at and while I was limited on time, my attention was immediately drawn to some of the clothing. I've been on the hunt for some unique patchwork pants and I found my dream pair. I also found a cute cropped tee. I just had to have both and lucky for me, both were on sale. I got them for just under $60. I honestly could have spent an hour browsing, but alas I had to be on my way. I'm so happy I found this true hidden gem. The community is lucky to have such a cool shop.

Shop Tibet has been in Broad Ripple right along Westfield Boulevard for at least several years. I've only made my way in a couple of times for two reasons - I'm never quite sure of the hours and it's definitely not the most wheelchair friendly little shop. The good news is that Shop Tibet does have a pretty level to the ground doorway - it's narrow but workable. They pack a lot into a relatively small space, however, it's really surprisingly workable if I'm careful. Shop Tibet is run by a Hoosier Tibetan and does support Tibet. You can get clothing, jewelry, accessories, incense, Tibetan-themed items, and items I'm guessing are not actually Tibetan but still bring to mind a Tibetan theme. I find the prices here to be surprisingly affordable and the selection is surprisingly comprehensive given the modest size of the shop. I tend to be a candle and incense freak. I'm also into books, teas, and other smaller items. This is the kind of little gem that I'm surprised doesn't get more love, though they must do well enough since they've been here a long time in this almost corner spot not far from the firehouse. While I'm not sure I'd call this a destination shop, if you're in the area I'd definitely say it's worth it. I have to admit that while I find myself thinking it would be hard for a power chair to maneuver in this shop, I have a couple of friends who are power chair users who say it works. If you're in the village, I'd definitely stop by Shop Tibet. I was just here a couple days ago, and it was as cool as ever.

If you want a fun activity on the Indy Northside, look no further!…read more I came here with a group of colleagues for a fun night out from the lab. It was a nice social activity that also allowed moments of quiet to focus on your piece. I find this dynamic kind of nice because I'm not one to talk endlessly even when I'm with my friends. They have tons of pieces to choose from, ranging in price and size, so you can make this activity as much as you want to get out of it. There's no studio fee, so glazes and kiln services are included with your price. They have just about all the colors of glaze, which have a display on the wall by the glaze bottles. The staff are all very friendly, Brooke and Fernando were especially attentive to us throughout the evening. They made sure to help keep our workspace tidy and helped with some glazing and artistic touches. Importantly, we never felt rushed with the process, which helped us feel like we could make something we're proud of. They also have some glass fusing stuff as well, so you can make some kinds of mosaic glass lamp shades (or at least that's what was shown throughout the space). I'm curious how that's priced, because that would be another cool outing! Pottery pieces take about a week to be fired in the kiln, so I don't have my masterpiece back yet. I'm very excited to receive it! They also provide shipping, so if you're a little further away, you can still get your piece. I'm sure I'll be back again before too long!

They have a LARGE variety of different items to paint (as well as different offers as well). The employees were attentive as we painted with filling us in on the process, getting us new brushes, etc. They also offer adult beverages, which is a nice touch for date nights!

There was a time in my life when you could easily catch me doing the trifecta of stores here -…read moreMichaels, PetsMart, and Marsh. Alas, life changes and I don't really frequent this corner anymore with Marsh long gone and PetsMart no longer having as many live animals as they once had. While I'm not exactly a crafty person, I've seemingly always found something I like at Michaels. It's also always been a prime option for me when I've needed something framed. I'm not a fan of Hobby Lobby for a variety of reasons - so, on those rare occasions I need something in the craft arena this tends to be where I go. I'd been looking for an affordable Christmas wreath along with a couple basic decorations. I saw the Michaels Black Friday ad and decided to stop by after church today. This location has accessible parking, though it's not ADA (there's no actual signage). There's an appropriate curb cut and automatic doors. As is nearly always true for craft stores, the aisles tend to be a bit difficult for wheelchair users. I do like that they have the shorter carts. Store personnel tended to be friendly and I will say that craft-oriented shoppers tend to be friendlier than the "cut in front of me and you'll die" shoppers at your usual big box retailers. Michaels was definitely decked out for Christmas and it really dominated the store. They have pretty much all self-serve kiosks for check-out these days - I like that they have big screens (let's face it, Michaels has a high number of older shoppers). I didn't find everything I'd hoped to find at Michaels, though I did find a couple great items at great prices. Check out was quick and the rep was super helpful. Heck, I even signed up for the rewards club (3% back on all purchases, 6% once you hit $300). They also can look up your receipts if you need to make a return - great for folks like me who tend to lose receipts. Michaels has classes, events, and they still have a great selection of frames. They're great for knitting supplies, hobby activities, art supplies, and much more. For Christmas, you can get quite a bit at a wide variety of prices. This was a solid experience. It sure wasn't five star, especially because some of the aisles definitely had some accessibility issues, but it was a very solid four-star and I'd definitely go back. I will note they frequently have items outside their door - in itself wonderful, however, at times they do block the sidewalk in case you're wanting to go to PetsMart next door. Haverty's has taken the old Marsh spot.

The staff are very helpful though the store layout is a bit cramped for ease of accessibly. Aisles are well labeled. I find the pricing to be a bit high but the sales are very good (50%) and clearance (60-70%) even better.
