I have filed a police report for stolen property and notified Apple of their behavior. And I will not finish until I get proper justice. I am a big believer in supporting local. And have done so for the past 15 years here but selling a defective product that they ADMITTED was defective from the factory and refusing to exchange and now 3 months later it's not fixed and no contact at all from them is unacceptable. Excellent Service & Technical Expertise. In desperate need of help to fix my failing office network, I contacted Mac-Fusion to see if they could help troubleshoot the problem. Kevin promptly scheduled an appointment and was able to diagnose and correct the issue within 90 minutes. It should be said that the company that I paid thousands of dollars to install the network, just 10 months ago could not identify the problem (after sending two different technicians on a half dozen return visits to my office). I rarely leave reviews on yelp but I had to for this shop in Seal Beach. My keyboard and trackpad were unresponsive on my MacBook Pro so I took it to this shop for repair. The staff was friendly, helpful, and suggested ways to get my laptop fixed with Apple's keyboard repair program! They were very proactive in having me save the most money, AND made sure my needs were met. I was able to get a repair exception from Apple to extend my warranty, and so I went ahead with the repair at Mac Fusion. The ultimate turn around for my device was about 2-3 business days, which was considerably quick! Why I sought a repair: A key had popped off of my 6 month old MacBook Air. I had already looked up tutorials on how to fix it myself, but there are some delicate plastic hinges under the keys that I felt more comfortable having an expert put the key back on. Problem with Mac-Fusion: I brought the computer in and showed them the issue. They immediately told me I needed the entire key deck replaced. While my computer is under apple-care warranty (meaning the repair would have been free) I was appalled by their response. I explained to them that the key was not damaged, it just had unclipped from the plastic hooks and needed to put back on. The associate "showed the computer to his technician" who gave the same response-- they entire key deck would need to be replaced. What is alarming about this interaction is it shows that they do not know these machines actually operate. Neither of the two associates, nor the technician were able to look at the keyboard and be able to say whether the mechanism underneath the key was broken, versus the key having popped off but still in fine condition. This place is the equivalent of taking your car to a mechanic for a broken headlight and the only solution they have is to send your car back to the manufacturer to have the entire front fender replaced. I don't believe they were trying to scam me, rather they just do not understand how the machines they are working on actually work. I was able to go home, watch a YouTube video and properly reattach my key in about 15 minutes. Conclusion: There is no way I would trust them to replace my ENTIRE KEY DECK if they don't understand how the individual keys work. Took my laptop in to get serviced due to sticky keys. They informed me that my laptop had defective keys and was covered by Apple for free. They took note of cosmetic issues during drop off, asked me if i wanted to keep my data and I said yes if possible. A few days later, I get an email saying they found liquid damage so I had to pay $299 deductible with Applecare + $145 for "data storage and restore" (this fee was not mentioned to me at drop off). I emailed them about this fee and they told me if I didn't want this they could remove the fee but everything would be cleared out and I would be received the laptop as if it was new (with no data). I said that was fine, don't charge me. After 4 weeks of waiting for my laptop, I finally get the pick up email and have my fiance pick it up. They did not review anything with him, just handed the laptop over. When we looked at the laptop at home, there was a small but deep chip on the screen. I contacted Mac Fusion and they responded by lying and saying they opened and turned on laptop to review with my fiance during pick up. We asked they check their cameras because that was obviously not true. They then responded and agreed the cameras showed they did not go over anything and just handed off. I was then told there is nothing they can do about it once we take it home. It is disappointing when you trust someone with your valuables and pay to get repairs in exchange for cosmetic damage. Not what you expect from an Apple authorized retailer. Also, I didn't lose any data. Everything was still there, so that fee... was it really necessary? Pros? They were very responsive to my emails. First and foremost thank goodness I made it to the Apple Store in Cerritos, before that I came here on a Sunday to get my phone repaired since I experienced the "Black screen of death", I figured it out by watching YouTube videos and reading common trouble issues so when I arrive @1130(my appointment was 11:45AM.. I didn't get assistant until 12:15 PM) the first technician confirmed my diagnosis, then Asked me to log on to a public portal with all my iCloud information, told me to wait for three hours (thank goodness there's a bar next-door) so they can troubleshoot some more! Why? I don't know like I said I was already told what was wrong. I come back this tall caucasian male w/ glasses says I now have "water damage". Which was discovered by Juan the back door technician. (Who I never spoke to) I know for a fact I don't ever go in the water with my phone nor the environment I'm around would've caused condensation buildup inside my phone, there carelessness would've cost me almost $375!!!. Thank goodness I didn't believe them. So I drove to the Apple Store in Cerritos & not more than 45 minutes later they discovered my phone doesn't have "water damage". I held down the little button on the charger and bada-bing bada-boom, good as new. The second time however, no chips. I made an appointment and took 'em in to this location within the year warranty time- Soo much better than other locations because parking is street level and convenient so you don't have to go to meander through a mall trying to find the spot. The staff there was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Long story short, they sent the buds in for repair, and now I'm bumpin' UGK chopped and screwed mixes of the grimiest dirty south ish you've ever heard. "I grind HARD!" They're like little bassy headphones but in wrap-around buds for active people that train at night and can't risk losing a bud. Save your pennies like I did and get a real pair of buds. Beats. I've heard great things about Mac-Fusion but unfortunately it's hard for me to say the same. I took in an iPhone that's cracked on the front and back so it needed to be replaced and was under the Apple Care warranty. After dropping it off, an hour goes by and I receive an email saying that the screws are stripped and they are not able to open up the device. Not sure how that could've happened prior to bringing in my iPhone and the employee didn't offer much insight either. Interestingly against what the email said, when returning to the store an employee, not the one who emailed me, said one screw came right out and the other didn't. Knowing that I've never tried to open the device because A) I don't have a screw driver small enough and B) why would I ever need to, I wanted to have good faith and said it could've happened in my pocket and the employee didn't disagree either. It was difficult reasoning how the screw was stripped and why only one. I really didn't want to start thinking that Mac-Fusion stripped the screw. Being that I'm in a bind and need it taken care of ASAP, I call Apple Support and head to the Apple store in Cerritos. Support schedules an appointment to come in for next Wednesday (should've done this from the get go) but encouraged me to keep driving to the Apple store to have them look at the stripped screw. Of course, traffic on the 605 was in abundance. The Apple store employee looks at it and says it's obvious that a screwdriver previously used caused the screw to be stripped and has another Apple employee look at it who says his team won't be able to access the phone to service it either. Apple's opinion leaves me now thinking Mac-Fusion stripped the screw since the phone has never been serviced previously by anyone. Even though the iPhone is being replaced, Apple needs to access the inside to ensure there were no 3rd party parts added that would void the warranty. Since I need to turn in a fixed iPhone into Apple to get the new phone, they said I now need to call my carrier and will have to pay out right for the rest of money owed since it can't be serviced. It gets worse. Mac-Fusion returned the phone to me with a plastic screen cover on the front screen. The screen cover is placed over the speaker that you use to listen on phone calls so I now can only have phone calls using the speaker function. That's absolutely ridiculous. I was told I can't take the screen cover off because it's what they use to remove the glass off the screen so I'd damage the screen further if I did. I'm now left in an even more of a bind with a phone that has this cover on it that prevents me from having a normal phone conversation. At Mac-Fusion, I never dealt with the same person and wasn't offered any sort of insight or rectification of such an inconvenience that I'm confident I'm not responsible for. read more

I had been avoiding taking my Mac in to get it fixed despite obvious issues because who wants to be without their machine when they need to get stuff done? Well wouldn't you know right when I needed it the machine said to service battery, I got it in the next day and just now picked it up. Turns out my Mac had more things wrong with it than I thought and the machine had to be sent to apple. It still got back to me in less than 3 full days, had I gone to an Apple store I'd still be waiting! All I wanted was a new battery. That's it. Simple. They wanted to keep my computer for a week and charge me $350 Apple charged me $130 and kept computer overnight. I had to pay $80 for Mac fusion to tell me i needed a new battery (what I already knew) and quote me $220 more than the Apple store. AND THEY CLEANED OFF MY DESKTOP. DON'T TOUCH MY FILES. EVER. I had high hopes for this repair shop based on prior reviews and initial contact with Eric at Mac-Fusion. My 1-star is more specifically with the customer service/professionalism received from Mac-Fusion First impression - High 9/8 - E-mailed and called Mac-Fusion to have my MacBook pro taken a looked at 9/9 - Brought my MacBook Pro in and their diagnosis will 2-3 days. 9/12 - I called to follow-up (not vice versa) and they told me the top case/keyboard will need to be replaced and they guaranteed the fix will be completed before by Thursday 9/15. The placed order to headquarters will take 1 day and additional day when the part arrives at the shop. Impression - Not as high 9/15 - I called to follow-up (again not vice versa) and they stated the order was not placed but should arrive and fixed by 9/19. 9/20 - I called to follow-up (as they don't provide updates/status of open/current PO's with their customers. They stated they haven't received the part but was placed shortly on hold thereafter. Few minutes later, I spoke to Eric and said they "just received" the part and my MacBook Pro will be ready the next day (9/21) 9/21 - At this point, I decided to follow-up (in-person) and they stated they have not started working on my MacBook Pro and will have it ready first thing the next day. I was honestly frustrated at this point of juncture of getting my MacBook Pro repaired when on 9/12 (they promised 3 day turnaround for the repair. 9/22 - As promised by the staff of Mac-Fusion, they called at 11am to state my MacBook Pro was ready to be picked up. I came by immediately during work lunch. I find paying for the repairs was quickly done and the turn of events was brushed off as nothing on their end. Dont bother coming here, go to the Apple store instead. I have an iPhone 8 +. Broken screen from a drop. Typical right? I have an appointment today at 11 am. I arrived 10 min early and wait behind a few using the iPad to check in. By the time I log into the iPad it's now 11. No big deal but by the time they call my name it's now 11:38am. I get to the counter and the guy helping me is being very thorough. Like raise my eyebrow thorough. Goes over the phone saying I think the outer ring might have a dent. Then says I might have a crack in the read frame. I roll my eyes and say dude just fix my screen, nothing else is wrong. He says he has to be very thorough as asked if I had water damage? I say no I just dropped it. He then launches into there might be frame damage, or the internal components may be damaged. He said if they pull my phone apart and the internal parts are damaged or the frame is bent he MUST swap the entire unit. I ask what does that cost? 400. I reply with no if that's the case you give me the phone back and I'll take the phone somewhere else and have it reassembled or screen replaced. He said that's against policy. Then said he MUST wipe the phone back to factory, I asked why? It's policy. So now irritated I say you guys suck Apple will just replace the screen and not wipe the phone or threaten me with an absolute replacement. He shrugs and says that's how it it. I take my phone back and leave. I have an appointment with Apple Genius Bar Sunday to get my screen replaced. NUTS to this Update: I wish yelp would let me respond to the business owners. I have nothing to gain from leaving my review. I don't fabricate any portion of my reviews. (To what purpose? ) ANYWAY I stand by my review. I went to Apple and had my phone screen REPLACED without being reset back to factory. Apple took 2 hours to replace my screen not the 4-5 hours quoted by the this place. I tried upgrading our 6 year old iMac to the latest operating system and it came up with an error explaining that we did not have enough memory (RAM) in the machine to run the latest and greatest OS from Apple. MacFusion to the rescue AGAIN. A phone call to Steve and a quick check on the age and serial number of the machine and I was on my way to Main Street to upgrade the memory on our family iMac. It was a simple matter of confirming that they had the memory in stock, which they did, and it took about 15 minutes to swap out the 1 meg chip for 2 2 meg chips and I was heading home with a 6 year old computer that was running faster than ever an on the latest version of iOS. Oh and the price was right around 100.00 including the labor. It was seriously less than I expected to pay and so much better than having to deal with the mad house at the Apple Store. I think Mac Fusion did something to my ipad after I gave it to them for the warranty repair, and made it wouldn't even powered on. When I submitted my ipad to Mac Fusion on Feb 20, 2016, it was fully charged and was running (just bluetooth and wifi weren't working). When we came back on March 5, 2016 to get it back to bring it to Apple store for service since they denied warranty work because of the scratch/dent on the corner, I didn't test my ipad again (it was off). When we brought it to Apple Store, told them about the problem with Mac Fusion, they were happy to take care of it. So the tech at Apple store put together a ticket, and his manager approved it but his manager than told him to make sure it turned on and verifies that bluetooth and wifi are not working. They tried to turn it on but it wouldn't, so we thought it ran out of battery. The tech went to get a charger and we waited for about 30 mins while it charged. It still wouldn't turned on. So my guess is that the guys at Mac Fusion did something to my ipad which broke it completely, so that was why they refused to warranty my ipad. Very SHADY!!!! Lucky for us, the Apple Tech just went ahead and traded us with a brandnew ipad 4 without a single cent. Just be very careful when you give your devices to this place!!!! read more

This place and the guys who work it are so the bomb! I think it was Jacek (did i spell that right?) and Kelly today, but they're all terrific. Super polite, super tech-savvy and a super pleasant, comfortable store. They offer a few free minutes of help, or, you can buy the tech bites where u sit down one on one for more complex problems. Either way, Seal Beach is so lucky to have them here! I've been in a number of times for help whenever I have a Mac issue. They always go out of their way to help fix whatever the problem might be. Hardware, software, even when it's out of their expertise, they always do their best to find a solution. They helped me pick the right product, and then when I mentioned I also needed a new glass screen cover they looked up my purchase from 2017 and knew exactly what to replace it with and did it for me for free because I bought it from them and it had a lifetime warranty. Online they were booked up for weeks. I called and they said they could do a one day turn around. This was exciting to me because every time I looked at my cracked screen I would get furious. I got my phone over to them by 2 PM and it was ready for pick up at 4:30 PM. They were very careful to inform me that if anything was bent inside of the phone or if there were any issues, they might need to replace the phone. Fortunately that was not the case and they were able to get me out the door with only the change in screen. The employees were very helpful in person and on the phone. Wait time was minimal. Not sure how these guys are listed as an option on the Apple genius service system. Took in a MacBook Air to get battery serviced and their genius confirmed to me that the charge would be the official Apple cost of $129, but I would also have to pay an added service fee of $79. As this wasn't my first time getting Apple genius service, this sounded odd to me and so I decided to decline the repair. Today, I took my MBA to the Apple store in Fashion Island and was advised that Apple only charges their published cost of $129 flat - confirming my suspicion. So my advice to folks with Apple hardware issues is to not waste your time with these "authorized repair" outfits and just get an appointment with an Apple store - there's a reason why appointments at these outfits are more readily available, don't fall for it. read more

Its hard to rate a business when you're both annoyed and happy with your experience all at the same time. I scheduled an appointment for a battery replacement via Apple's support site for Wed 1:20pm thinking I could avoid any lines. Not only could they not find my appt but they didn't seem to have any system in place to take care of the clients who had appts in the first place. So we all stood in line together. They seemed to be very understaffed with 2 employees at the registers and no one on the floor. If you came in with questions about a device and wanted to purchase you would be out of luck, at least on this particular day. A good majority of people were dropping off devices for repair which took some time to get through each customer. The 2 employees I spoke to were very polite, informative, and took their time when it was my turn. So I couldn't hold onto my anger for very long. They estimated a 2-3 hour turnaround time for the replacement but it was ready within an hour. The battery seems to be working well and I'm no longer tethered to the charger.
