I love shopping with MAC cosmetics but the employee's they choose to hire at some of their stores are very rude. I came to this store to pick up some of my favorite concealer. When I walked in, two sales associates were present and not one of them greeted me, or asked me if I needed help. One of the associates even came from the break room and started opening boxes right on the front store counter and still failed to acknowledge me still. It wasn't until one other sales associate walked in and when I asked her if she worked here, he response was "I wouldn't have turned around if I didn't" This was very rude and unpleasant. Because I needed my concealer I purchased it anyway, but I'll NEVER come to this store again. These types of things turn paying customers off. Please hire better staff that understand the importance of customer service. read more

I couldn't care less about the MAC hype, but I have a friend who is very much into it, and she beat my face with Soft & Gentle Skinfinish, which made my skin dewy and effervescent! I immediately made my way to the nearest MAC to get me some of that. This location had customers, but wasn't too busy. I was able to go right up to the counter and get what I needed quickly. Prices are high ($32 for the Skinfinish). I didn't get the $22 mascara that I wanted, but probably will at another time. read more

Much to my delight he showed me various techniques and how and why to wear his selections. He was professional yet charming and funny. There's only one entry for MAC at Lenox Square even though there's at least three locations, but I'm reviewing their counter in Bloomingdale's. I tried to get an appointment for the actual store located inside Macy's, but just due to everything running late (it was for my wedding) I had to push the appointment back and they were the only one in the mall that had an opening. Oh well, it's not like I had a bad experience. Quite the opposite! I came with printouts of what I was going for in terms of a look, discussed any possible deviation (I never really want an exact copy of someone else so that made me happy too), and we were off. The look was gorgeous. I wanted a smokey green eye and it looked absolutely beautiful. I also mentioned blue was another colour in the wedding so she added a blue liner along the waterline to make it pop. She helped me find the perfect lashes, too. I'd found my perfect fake lashes (not that I wear them often) at MAC years ago but then lost them so I couldn't remember the number, but we found them. Another plus was since she wore glasses too, she got how it can be necessary to add even more to the eye area to make it visible over the glasses. The biggest hurdle was the foundation. I'd had some colour on my face compared to normal, so the shade I normally used would've been way too light. It took a while to find the perfect shade, but she did! She was incredibly meticulous and was all about finding that perfect balance between a colourful, dramatic eye but not looking ridiculous. read more

MAC has got to be my favorite cosmetics company, hands down. Not only do they have more special collections of colors based on pop icons like Barbie, Hello Kitty, Madonna, and Nicki Minaj than anyone else I know, but they also have the widest range of colors, textures, styles, and types of makeup around: powder, cream, gel, pencil, liquid, etc. You name it, MAC probably has it. And the quality is superior - makeup stays put and doesn't wear off during the day. Yes, the price is more than what you would pay at the drugstore for mascara or eye shadow, but the quality is worth the price, and when you compare MAC's prices to some of the prices at shops like Sephora, it's actually very competitive. So are their brushes, face cleansers and other essential beauty tools. My favorite thing about MAC though, is the makeup artists. They are all independently trained and most work for MAC and no one else. Many are also freelancers who will do things like fashions shows, photo shoots and other special events in addition to working at various MAC stores around the country. And trust me, they're good. Unlike some cosmetics counters where the "consultants" look like they put their own makeup on with a trowel, these people really know what they're doing and look the part. For special occasions (like first dates or special nights out), I'll get my makeup done at MAC - I usually give the artists free reign to do whatever they think will look good, and I have yet to be disappointed. They're friendly, knowledgeable and almost always give me a tip or a trick or a new product I didn't know about before I sat down in the chair to let them work their magic. I love MAC, and I will continue to love (and support them) well into the future. Keep it up! read more

I went in to this MAC location looking for a new lipstick and eyeshadow. It was a thursday evening and it was not busy. There were 4 sales associates working. I also work in sales and consider myself very patient, and have never complained or written a bad review, until now. I asked one of the associates for help finding a lipstick, and she picked out a lipstick, set it on the counter, and walked away. I then asked someone else for help, and she said that her shift for doing makeup was over and that i should find someone else. No guidance on who to ask... I then asked one of the girls doing makeup the same question. She blew me off and told me to ask someone else! At this point I was getting very frustrated. I went back to the original sales lady and asked her about the eyeshadows that we were standing next to. She literally looked at me, turned around, and walked away. It was the most uncomfortable shopping experience I have ever had.. I ended up just walking to Sephora, where I spent over $150 on makeup products. I was really humiliated and self conscious like it was my fault that I was being refused help...... Also I should mention that other girls were in the store receiving help from the same employees. I did not have any extreme requests. I literally asked for help choosing a shade of eyeshadow and lipstick, for an everyday look. As a sales associate myself, I understand how stressful this environment can be, however, this experience was completely unacceptable for any store. Customer service means everything. read more

Customer service still exists! Chantelle (at the MAC attached to the Macy's) is amazing. Seriously, she is the best sales rep I have dealt with at MAC, or any other retail establishment, in a very long time. So, I wandered in looking for a new lipstick and she spent so much time with me, helping me venture into new colors without feeling like I'd gone too far out of my comfort zone. She also found ways to help me save money-she told me about the free lipstick promotion and made sure I entered my Plenti number for points that can be redeemed for cash value on future purchases. She also made sure to enter my purchases into my MAC customer card so that I could always look back to see what shades I liked/purchased (sometimes those names wear off the bottom and I can't remember for the life of me). As I had JUST been at Perimeter Mall MAC/Macy's where they did not do ANY of this, it stood as a stark contrast. As an aside, the Lenox MAC has all the free lipstick colors left while Perimeter has only 3 out of the 5. I felt like I had Chantelle's full attention and that she genuinely wanted me to be a satisfied customer. It was like a throw-back to when sales reps built a clientele, making a point to know their likes/preferences and how certain products match/conflict with their personalities, jobs and lifestyles. Chantelle has me as a customer for as long as she is at MAC! Even though Perimeter is much closer to me and easier to get to, I will travel to Lenox and brave the traffic. I booked an appointment and was paired with Nicolette; the moment she walked up and I saw her own stunning makeup, I knew I'd made the right choice to book an appointment. I highly recommend Austin at this MAC location! I made an appointment to have my make up done and I was assigned him and I couldn't have been happier! First of all, he's super professional and polite. He was all by himself when I was there so he had to multitask my make up and helping customers, which I'm sure was difficult. But he did a great job! I came in with ideas of what I wanted done and he was super knowledgeable and explained why some things would and would not work based on my face size, eye shape, etc. I appreciate that he was honest and didn't just say "ok." He showed me good practices for applying makeup at home and gave me great tips. He is amazing! He wears make up and looks spectacular! He's fabulous and a real talent to the make up world. This is the Mac Outpost in Lenox Mall, it was great. I actually was feeling a little down and decided to cheer myself up and get some long overdue make up. Im glad I followed my instinct, I met two of the most nicest young ladies (Rahle and Destiny). They made me feel welcomed, they were both very knowledgeable about Mac make up and just made me feel very relaxed and confident. Rahle took the time to educate me on my make up, she always asked if I was comfortable with the look once she applied the make up. They both had a great demeanor with other customers while attending to me. In the past I felt uncomfortable at the make up counter, but now I will be a "regular" customer and request Rahle and/or Destiny for all my future MAC purchases. Worst experience EVER!!!!!!!!! It took 2 people to do my makeup. One guy who claimed he was the manager started on my face and got frustrated or what not and stopped and asked another artist to take over. So she had to take all my makeup off and start all over. Remind you I've been there since 4. And she can barely finish because she's stopping and helping customers. Nothing to do with the makeup here, it's actually great quality from what I've seen. The customer service is terrible though. This lady I had "helping" me was not much help at all. I was trying lipsticks, and she was ok at first but then she disappeared! She gave me no suggestions on what would work when this nude color looked horid on me or really when any color looked horrid! So I found myself just picking random lipsticks up and trying them myself. She seemed more interested in helping others. I went into Mac thinking I'm going to leave having a better idea of what colors would work for me and some makeup tricks, but nooo...I wanted a consultation which I did not get. This other employee was clearly giving another customer the right consultation, I'm not sure why this lady I'm describing didn't for me. She was just all over the place and rushed and rude with her replies to my answers. She found a foundation for me that matched my skin beautifully along with several other products that I could not leave the store without after she applied them to my face. I drove an hour and a half to pick out Christmas presents. The service was okay -- I was ignored for a while until a polite employee came up and asked me for help. Unfortunately, when I asked him if I could purchase two lipsticks, he got one of them wrong and immediately asked me to follow him to check out (so I didn't get to double-check his mistake). I didn't find out until I got back home and now I have no time to go back to Atlanta to exchange it for the correct lip color.
