I…read morehad actually hired another make up artist before I found DaNina, but long story short, the other lady fell through last minute, and I was left 2 months out from my big day with out a make up artist. O_O Needless to say, I was a panicked bride. I found DaNina on yelp - she had great reviews on all of the wedding sites as well. I sent a pricing inquiry on her website, after looking at her work, I was really impressed at how diverse her portfolio was! There were brides of all different cultures, and every single one of them was so BEAUTIFUL! She responded within 24 hours of my inquiry, which is really important for a time pressed bride... Before I knew it, we scheduled a trial run. She was very flexible with my time. My schedule can get a little crazy, but she worked with me. We had the trail at my house. She showed up early, and (as usual) I was late... to my own house.. lol. But she was super nice about it! She came prepared with all of make up that you can ever need, her own light, and this comfy make up chair as well. I opted for air brushed foundation, a smoky eye and a burgundy lip that matched my bridal shoes :) I had a few pictures of what I wanted, and she sure did execute! She did an amazing job! I loved everything about the look that she created for me! I also wanted an up-do, and she had her hair stylist Sonya Rivera come in for that. Sonya did an amazing job with my up-do and waterfall braid. Both of these ladies are as sweet as pie, and you can definitely sense the camaraderie between them. I'm not really a girly-girl, so I was honestly kind of dreading getting my make up done, It was not nearly as awkward as I thought it was going to be! They are both so warm and kind, and they have a way of just making you feel comfortable. DaNina created a schedule with all of my bridesmaids/mom that were getting serviced. She sent it to me a couple days before the actual day so we knew what to expect. The morning of my wedding was ABSOLUTELY bananas. We were running behind schedule, but DaNina & Sonya kept their composure (way better than I did) and did their thing. Everyone was so happy with their hair and make up! I was getting compliments from everyone about beautiful I looked, and for once, I actually felt like it! I was a beautiful bride thanks to both of these ladies! The best thing was how long it lasted! My make up stayed in place ALL night, which is really impressive because I sweat PROFUSELY. It's like someone turns a faucet on when I sweat. (Seriously, my Husband had to keep a tissue in his pocket, and was sweet enough to dab me when we were at the alter! Hilarious, but also necessary as I was sweating bullets!). I am SO happy that the other makeup artist fell through. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, or a better make up and hair artist! Thanks to you both for everything!!

At this point I was getting a little nervous because we had dinner reservations for 8:30. We were then informed that Latasha would not be the one doing our makeup because she wasn't there ( bummer because the website let us choose her as the artist) I think somewhere during the booking should have made it clear that she may not necessarily be the one doing us. The artist saw the uneasiness on our faces and assured us that both she and the other young lady were good as well and that we could look at their work on IG but she didn't give us their names. Anyway, the spot is a cute quaint shop. There was a hairstylist straightening someone's hair which had my throat itching from the smell of burnt hair. Our makeup came out pretty. The one that had the MAC makeup lasted longer because the AJ Crimson is very oily to me. I've had it applied by two other MUAs in the past and the same thing happens, greasy. I did enjoy the choice of lip color and end up purchasing a tube. I think it's called Show Time. Not only is she fun & kind; she is so knowledgeable and helpful. I just completed chemotherapy and while my hair is growing back, I want to look my best and need to step up my makeup game. I booked a Makeup Lesson and as her website recommends, I brought along some of my makeup for the consultation along with a long list of my questions. She started with "getting to know me" and my goals/expectations. From there, I sat back and watched as she tried various foundation colors & textures. The right one - what a difference!!! From there, she spent time on every aspect of my face. I was at her studio for several hours; learned a ton (took lots of notes) and had a fun time. She knows her stuff!!! Meredith was unsure the morning of her wedding how she wanted to wear her hair. She had done a trial with Kiev last summer, but had decided on a totally different style dress and did not think the original hair style would be appropriate. Meredith lives on the west coast so it was not possible to do another trial before the wedding. Kiev took all this in stride and after a few minutes of talking with Meredith and "playing around" with different styles Kiev was able to suggest the perfect style. Also Kiev did my hair and make-up,too. I have never received so many compliments. Being MOB can be a stressful job and working with some wedding vendors can be stressful, but not Kiev. Kimberly, first of all, is just awesome. Someone with whom you'd want to be friends. She's real, funny, and totally puts you at ease. She even dealt with her boyfriend's doctor's appointment before our shoot and made it in great shape (ie, sans stress though I'm sure she was worried, and we all asked after him) and was so fun all day long. And the day got hot! (This is gonna be a loooong hot summer in Atlanta, if the current temps are any indicator) MAC, and all the other goodies. Kimberly's time at Entebello and since then now on her own (she does a lot of weddings and loves to, and does them for high-to-low but definitely works with the best wedding planners and event places so if you're in the market, check her out), she is delicate and careful with the "palettes" she creates on your face. I NEVER have my makeup done (I don't think I've had it done since my wedding in 2002, by Aric Castleberry, who's no longer in Atlanta but whom I grew to love and trust completely, and with whom Kimberly is a colleague) but I felt so pretty today!! Yes, it got hot and sweaty, but she fixed me up as needed, and I even went home for a quick nap before my event tonight - and my eyeliner was still perfectly in place after. Love her! They sent us Rebecca who was a dream. She worked expertly, as a true artist does, to change methods and techniques when working with each individual woman. I wear makeup very infrequently, so it was important to me to hire a professional who would do a good job with very little input from myself about how I "would normally" do it. Her creativity shined through and I was very impressed. My mother & my sister were equally beautiful. All of us had our own unique style tailored to the individual. If you are looking for a team that is EXTREMELY TALENTED, AFFORDABLE, and makes you not only LOOK…read morebut also FEEL BEAUTIFUL....BRUSHWORX is the way to go! I am extremely picky when it comes to bridal makeup and hair. As much as I vowed to not be a bridezilla, I knew that finding the right makeup and hair team was something important to me. I've been in several other weddings this year, and saw how some stylist would spring additional costs at the last minute (ranging from using "heated tools" to Bobby Pins) so was also intent on finding a company that was trustworthy. Within minutes of talking with Patti, I knew I wanted to work with Brushworx. She spent a lot of time figuring out exactly what I needed and walked me through how they calculated their prices, answering all my questions with ease. I also liked that tip was included, because a lot of times it's not, and is expected in cash the day of the wedding (both awkward and stressful). And was impressed that the price for having your hair done was a flat rate no matter how you wanted it styled. Not only were Brushworx's prices fair, over the course of working with their team and my makeup/hair stylist, Katia (who is AMAZING), I was given tips that saved me money! I originally didn't know if I wanted my bridesmaids' hair or makeup done, because my budget only allowed for one but I really wanted my girls to feel beautiful. I was leaning towards hair, but Katia advised I go with makeup because it makes a bigger difference in pictures and keeps your look cohesive. I appreciated her advice and that her suggestion lowered the price than if I had gone with hair. Brushworx really is about what's best for you, not what makes them the most money. And she was so right, getting the makeup done really made everyone feel and look incredible! I also got thoughtful little gifts like hairspray, and extra MAC lipstick so I could touchup my lips throughout the wedding (which ended up being very useful)! For your trial run, their boutique is located in the lower level of Patti's house. At first I was skeptical of this; but as I went through the backyard, passing a child's bike, it was actually a really charming reminder that I was supporting small business instead of a chain. But once I opened the door to Patti's studio, I was completely blown away. I stepped into one of the cutest and most stylish salons I have ever been in, and I love going to salons! Once you stepped inside and closed the door you could have been in a salon in one of the most expensive areas of New York City (I know, I live in NYC). The place is incredible! Their energy and excitement, and TALENT, made the trial-run feel like a fairytale experience; transforming into a princess and having fun with it!! It is a memory that I think back to as really special in the lead-up to my wedding. Overall, Patti and Christine and their team at Brushworx is INCREDIBLY ORGANIZED, PROMPT, EASY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH, and ACCOMMODATING, which was essential because I was planning a wedding in GA while living in NYC. On the day of my wedding Katia was efficient and also a fun addition to the getting ready process and made us all look stunning. It was perfect. Everything about working with Brushworx left me relaxed because I was confident that I was in trustworthy and professional hands. I felt so lucky to have found such talented artists! Thanks to Brushworx I felt I truly beautiful on my wedding day! LOOK BEAUTIFUL!! USE BRUSHWORX!!
