Service is very friendly, though it's just counter, you bus yourself. Ambiance is non-existent really. Here's the thing: 1 bud light, 1 Dr. Pepper, 2 orders of buffalo wings, and an order of mac & cheese with 20% tip ran me $60. Ya don't get bang for your buck here, and the wings weren't the slightest bit crispy though the sauce is good. Definitely not a spot I'd be in a hurry to return to, I have no idea why the lines were so big unless maybe the ice cream is amazing. Not a place I would recommend for lunch though. read more

I usually use Yelp to find places to eat but I happened to stumble across Mac-A-Doodles while just driving by. This is a great non-chain local treasure, with homemade food and specials, and dessert/ice cream. There were four of us so we got to try multiple offerings around lunch time and everything was good. Lots of deep fried foods here, and plenty of comfort food. Pro tips: -Lots of free parking in front -No table service; you order at the window and take your food to a table and bus it when you're done (don't throw out your basket!!) -Pricing is reasonable and portions are quite large! -One side order of fries is enough for 2-3 people. We got 2 orders of fries and had to leave a lot over; it was too much for four people Would definitely stop by again if passing through in the future. read more

My friend mentioned this place existed and I thought "mac-a-doodles? mac 'n' cheese!". I didn't even know it was an ice cream place from the name but that isn't what I was looking for. Turns out all of their appetizers are brought in from elsewhere (and their hard ice cream is Perry's, not homemade). But all of their sandwiches, wraps, salads, and burgers ARE homemade, so I went for the Gabrielle Wrap. Figured it's a "them" thing. Went with the garlic wrap since they have wrap options. Review: Very nice portion size, nice flavors, nice balance of everything in there. I'll take a garlic exterior when the interior includes garlic aioli. I should've upgraded chips to fries or something - I just wasn't hungry enough to do that. Not their fault, chips are just chips. Pickle is eh, gave it to my friend. Service was friendly, they let me refill my water bottle, and in exchange I accidentally gave them my water bottle by leaving it on the table. My fault, so consider it a tip for whoever took it home (I called to let them know it's theirs). Takeaway: To those traveling through town, I'd do lunch here, whether takeout or eat in. Hard to tell a local what to do without trying the other places in town, but quick and solid tasty food. read more

I came across this place's pamphlet from an Airbnb we were staying. I was pleasantly surprised with everything. There is parking right in front of the restaurant. There is also indoor seating that have off a cozy dinner vibe. The employees are very nice and I ordered my food with no issues. I was initially overwhelmed with the options but I asked the cashier for a recommendation and she suggested the bom bom burger and it did not let me down. The burger came with chips but I can upgrade to fries or onion rings. I didn't do the fries upgrade but I did steal my bf's fries and they were really good lol. I was very satisfied with my meal but I just had to try their icecream so I had a single scoop apple pie flavor and it was gooood, def recommended this flavor. Def taste like apple pie, there is some nuttiness from the pie crust and it is not too sweet which is what I was afraid of. read more

amazing service. i called FOUR restaurants in the area to help me place an order for my mother, aunts and uncles, who are dealing with my sick grandma. not one restaurant could take an order and payment over the phone. I was at a loss. I called Mac-a-doodles, the woman who answered was gracious and kind and so pleasant to talk to. she suggested menu items and was incredibly patient with me. my family reported that the food was amazing and fulfilling. big shout out to this incredible restaurant...reminded me of how the restaurant industry used to be. thank you! read more

Was really looking forward to this considering the reviews but I had a terrible experience. Myself the hubby and two kids (1&3) were trying for the first time. He stayed in the car with the littles while I placed the orders, mine being the Belgium Waffle flurry. I got mine first  and it just tasted like vanilla icecream. I asked if I get a little more maple syrup in it. The girl said no problem and handed it off to her co worker. When she hands it back it was full of sryup,  like a puddle. I thought maybe she just didn't blend it back up. When I tried to stir it in it was just full of it. It would've been like drinking sryup. I said I didn't want it and threw it in the garbage. The rest of the orders were done so I  grabbed them and brought them to the car (which was parked in front of the side window). I proceeded to feed my 1yr old while the hubs helped our toddler. The workers looked at us multiple times but, even when not busy, didn't come to say anything. I finished and went back into line thinking I'd try something else. I get up to the counter and say "Can we try this agian"? Sure the girl says and I place a different flavor flurry order.  She then gives me a price and I said "Excuse me but its to replace the one I didnt eat." She says that she made me another one and since I didnt get it within a half hour that they wont replace it. I say I was in the car feeding the baby since the other orders were done. She just shrugs her shoulders and says something about it being policy. That is terrible costumer service. So I spend almost 5 dollars on a single item and recieved nothing for it. Not sure how that works?! Truly disappointed since I purchased a home in the area and love a good hometown icecream shop to visit....Oh well, The search continues. read more

Hands down, greatest ice cream anywhere. The portions are not big, they are tremendous!!! You can not beat the prices. Love this place.
