As always, an amazing experience. We try to hit this place up as much as we can, which is usually…read more6-10 times a year. It would be more if we lived closer. Today just exemplified why this is a great restaurant. We ordered off the specials menu; mostly because you may not see something again! Starter was Fried Butternut Squash Ravioli with a maple dipping sauce. Crispy, tender and the butternut filling was not overly seasoned letting the squash shine. We ordered a December Melt (melted Brie, fried ham, apples, chipotle honey mustard on a toasted Baguette. The spicy sauce complimented the warm sandwich fillings. So good, we ordered one to go for football tomorrow. We also ordered Texas Goulash (cavatappi noodles, pulled pork, bacon, peppers, jalapeño and some BBQ sauce). This dish was savory and the meat was tender!! Every bite was a melange of sweet, creamy, salty, crunchy. And to drink, another special menu item , the squall stuck cider. A peach spiced cider cocktail with New Scotland Spirits (SHOUT OUT!) Winter Wheat Whiskey blended with apple cider, pumpkin spice and brown butter. This really complimented both meals. Above all, service and the Christmas decorations, ambiance was,as always, stellar.

Stopped by for lunch on a Monday with a friend of mine. This was my second visit and I was excited…read moreto explore more of their menu items. I found an appetizer that sounded interesting... potato perogies wrapped in bacon with a balsamic vinegar. They were excellent! There was a hot Italian combo on focaccia bread with red peppers, mozzarella and a few other cold cuts. This was something I suggested that they add to their regular menu, it was so good. Our service was excellent, she made sure everything was perfect. I like this restaurant, it's really secluded and easy to drive by, yet it feels perfect inside.

It was late and cold, and the girls were in dresses. My daughter is newly gluten free and nervous to eat at a place that she has not eaten at before, so she got ice cream from Stewart's prior to going to the Grandstand. She entered the establishment with the ice cream and sat down inside with her friends while their moms ordered ice cream for themselves and the rest of the children, totaling 14 other people. A worker approached the young girls, telling them that they had to leave, which they did. As the worker was walking away, another parent of the group was walking up to the table and the worker never confronted that parent to explain what had just happened. The girls informed the parent of the situation. In addition to addresssing the young children, and not the parents, not only did the girls have to stand out in the cold, but the rest of the party had to as well. Meanwhile, one the mother's calmly and respectfully stated her understanding of the policy to the owner, and then proceeded to explain that my daughter was the only one with ice cream from someplace else, due to her medical condition and level of comfort. The parent also explained that there were 14 others with the group that were still providing them business. The owner stated that it was disrespectful and that their policy is that customers are not allowed to bring in outside food and drinks. The owner was spoken to in a very respectful manner, while her tone was horrendous as she responded with phrases such as, "I don't know what you want me to do about it" and "...and your question is?!" She was very rude and lacked any sense of understanding. The girls and their friends go there often after school. Not anymore!

I loved that they actually stuff the cone instead of leaving the bottom hollow -- such a small detail but it makes a big difference! They're also super generous with samples, so you can try as many flavors as you need before deciding. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the shop itself has such a quaint country charm. There were tons of unique flavors too -- including fun Girl Scout cookie-inspired options and an amazing blueberry flavor that became my favorite. What really stood out to me was how attentive the service was. I ordered a combination cone and the server noticed a tiny bit of mint chip had mixed into the other flavor. She carefully scooped it out before serving it because she knew it would affect the flavor profile. Such a thoughtful touch and proof that they really care about the experience they give customers. Parking is easy and there is outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely worth a visit if you love homemade ice cream and kind people!

He wasn't too hungry because of a big breakfast so he ordered a hot fudge sundae. I ordered a hot dog. They were out of meat sauce so had mustard and relish. The sundae was a hit and the hotdog was perfectly grilled and on a toasted roll - really good! The place is small and decorated like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. They have a wide assortment of hard ice creams that customers said were excellent. Our waitress was attentive and friendly taking care of the customers.
