But I did finally stop by for some of the famous desserts/ ice cream. Service was great. The young man at the service window made a number of very helpful suggestions, especially after I mentioned that I've begun to show a bit of dairy sensitivity if I have ice cream late at night. So I tried the nondairy Dole pineapple whip in a cup. It was delicious. My friend had a double scoop of chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. That was delicious, too. I tried some. There were many customers. Since Guptill's is widely considered a Capital Region institution, I'm slightly embarrassed that I haven't visited before. The ice cream stand is large and clean. The staff is young and courteous. I can't explain why I haven't been to the rink yet since I skate pretty well. Perhaps I've just been busy. Still, this was a good start. Hopefully, I will get around to doing some roller skating in the coming weeks. It might be a good way to beat the heat since Guptill's is air conditioned during the summer.

What a busy Thursday, the streets were filled, patios full all around, and a beautiful clear night for some ice cream. It had been a while since I had been to Dutch Udder, and they have expanded but still offer the same great homemade ice cream. I went for a tropical pick - some beach. It was a fun flavor! I wish I got more ice cream to go. It is a little pricy at $5.75 for a kiddie size, but the quality is there to back it up. The expanded seating area was so cute! I loved the decor and cute seating. It was the perfect area to meet up with some friends for an hour. Every time I venture out to Troy, I love it a little more. Come get some ice cream!

At one point all I could scoop out were toppings and it was just too rich for me. However, the ice cream, when I did get a scoop of it out was delicious! Just watch out those sundaes are huge! I def will be ordering something different next time I come. The parking lot is extremely spacious and the patio to eat on is nice. It did take a minute to get the ice cream but nothing too crazy. The gyros were fresh and made to order. They included a good portion of gyro meat and generous amounts of tomatoes, lettuce and tzatzki. The gyros were also served with a small side of potato salad that was excellent. There is both indoor and outdoor seating (picnic tables in the back). Indoors, it was clean and well maintained. The bathroom is huge and very clean. However, it would be nice if they installed a hook to hang your purse and coat. We also sampled the ice cream. They have both soft serve and hard ice cream. My soft serve twist was yummy and my mom enjoyed her hard ice cream. This is a nice addition to the area. We'll be back for the delicious gyros and ice cream.

I've been warned that the lines can get very long. My friends suggested in order to avoid crowds I'm best off showing up at off hours. It was a fun experience. I finally get it.
