Made the 35 minute trek to try their ice cream bubble waffle cones…read more   We ordered the taco bubble waffle with mint chip ice cream, Oreos, peppermint patties and chocolate sauce as well as the Bull Dogs bubble waffle cone, which had twist, peanut butter cups, M&M's, peanut butter chips, and chocolate and peanut butter sauces.   They were both drool worthy! The waffles tasted fresh and were soft and pillowy. If you're a fan of lots of toppings on your ice cream, this place will be your new favorite. The menu is full of creative options and if you're in the mood to create your own, the topping options are endless.   However, if you're like me and you consider yourself a hard ice cream connoisseur, you may be disappointed. For ice cream options there's chocolate, vanilla and twist soft serve as well as a handful of hard ice cream flavors: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee, mint chip and chocolate chip cookie dough.   The good news is that they had more hard ice cream flavors at the counter than they did on their website, so that leads me to believe they may be slowing adding new flavors.   And even though Berne is a drive for most of us, it's a nice ride especially in the summer and most likely the fall too.

My only complaint is if you just want a simple cone of ice cream you still pay the full price. May not be worth it for the little ones. Or if you can it wasn't clear.

There are picnic tables available on the property in front of a wooden fence where you can often see a few cows grazing nearby. Talk about farm to market! Not only is the homemade ice cream top quality, it is delicious. In addition, they serve soft vanilla and soft chocolate, dole whip, homemade Italian Ice, and Frogurt. The numerous flavors of ice cream are rich and bold. They are described well on the menu. Portions are generous so you may want to size down. I like a "small" cone of the Toffee Heath Bar Crunch. Staff is friendly and efficient no matter how long the line is at the window.

A small cone or dish is 3 scoops, currently at $5.25, tax included. It's cash only, but there's an ATM several feet to the right of the ordering counter. I got 2 scoops of peanut butter ice cream topped with a scoop of vanilla. The vanilla had some very small ice crystals in it but was otherwise fine. I really love their peanut butter ice cream. It's creamy with the peanut butter flavor but not overwhelming. The cone does seem to be a little small for all that ice cream, so don't dilly-dally too much eating it in warm weather. Since some other parlors near me have closed, Scoups has become by default the closest ice cream spot to me that makes their own hard ice cream. This is not a bad thing. It's also not bad that it's not too far away from Wolf Road, and it becomes a convenient spot for dessert after dinner nearby.

How much did you pay the last time you had a one scoop ice cream cone? I bet the odds are pretty…read moregood you may have paid triple what I paid yesterday. Because yesterday, I paid (brace yourself) a buck and a half for a one-scoop cone of pistachio gelato. Yup, I really did. Scoop 518 is the quintessential small town ice cream shop. You'll find it located on the picture perfect Main Street of Chatham, NY. It has a very cool eclectic interior with pink trim, black and white mosaic floor tiles, giant circus posters, and I kid you not... a giraffe neck and head sticking out of the upper cabinets behind the counter. They offered 16 flavors, a lot of the first generation basics (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee, black raspberry, butter pecan, maple walnut, mint chocolate chip), some of the second generation of flavors (cookie dough, cookies and cream, salted caramel, peanut butter fudge), plus a sherbert, 2 sorbets and a gelato for those looking to save some calories. Actually, I paid 2 bucks for my cone because I added chocolate sprinkles for fifty cents. I'm used to having cones rolled around in a bowl of sprinkles for the maximum density of sprinkle application. But that wasn't the case here. She put the sprinkles into a plastic quarter cup container and carefully sprinkled the sprinkles onto and around the ice cream. It didn't work very well and when was the last time you felt ripped off for paying an extra fifty cents? Anyway, 2 bucks for a cone with a smattering of sprinkles is still a fantastic bargain. By the way, the pistachio gelato was delicious.
